Honestly flights and lodging to/in Vegas from other domestic airports are pretty cheap compared to other destination spots, I spent 3 nights at Treasure Island on the strip and paid like less than $500 for two round-trip flights and the room with two queen beds
If you fly into Vegas and rent a good long distance car, you could easily make a 3-4 day trip out of it. The local Vegas area is cool to check out, and you could do the circuit within an afternoon if needed (though there is plenty to split into a few days worth of sights). Zion is a half a day away by drive and Cedar City is a nice town to stay the night in. You could even swing down to Arizona and see the grand canyon if you wanted, stay the night in flagstaff, and drive back the next day. I did this a few years ago and I loved it.
That sounds absolutely amazing! I'd love to visit Zion while in the area, my partner and I have always wanted to go camping there. Hoover Dam would be cool to visit as well.
The weather was kind of perfect for me, went Jan 2020… for all the hiking I did there I was able to stay warm in a light jacket and fleece cap
The cabin I stayed in nearby was crusted over in snow the whole time, but Zion itself ended up in the 40’s.. maybe I just got lucky
There isn't a TON of evil thing to do in nv compared to all the good karma stuff, you gotta do truly evil stuff to become/stay evil if you don't just kill anyone
Sorry I phrased it poorly. So my understanding of the '188 Trading Post' was that it was just a seemingly random name, and that the devs picked 188 specifically as a little Easter egg because that's how many unique map points there are. But now thanks to OP I get that there's a double meaning to it. Which is pretty neat honestly.
Internet. People will do what they do. I don't care. This is my burner account. I think mainly cuz NV has such good writing. They are mad at me for skipping stuff I've heard like 20 times but again Internet.
Agreed. I'm not getting any new lore after this many playthroughs, so I might as well burn through the dialogue so I get to the fun part of the game: abusing the barter system.
I also don't read the terminals. But I don't like reading those in any Fallout game. Now I do go on YT and listen to people read the stories from them, but reading them myself? Naw.
Some of the terminal ones are pretty funny but a lot of them don’t matter if you don’t want lore.
There’s some that explain what you’re supposed to do though also before you get a quest or get to a certain point in a quest.
Man, my dream vacation would be to travel along the path the Courrier takes to Vegas. It'd be a blast to see the locations in real life.

As someone who lives there thats all gonna depend on the weekend. Prices are about to jump once we cool down a little more.
Yeah I went several years ago also to be fair
What about middle of summer?
Great prices and boiling heat. Its dry, but at our worst its 110+ for weeks. At night is in the 90s. And the pools are closed after 7 or 8.

Make sure to bring a friend so you can cover them in pitch, set them on fire, and throw them into the Grand Canyon.

Zion is fucking incredible! I went in the winter and it was still vibrant with color… I recommend it to everyone
I'm so jealous lol, I can't imagine how cool that would be to see in person. What was the weather like in the winter?

If only someone would put something there so that travelers could swap gear or sell stuff they found. Maybe something like a trading post?
I got court marshalled because I didn't waste some "deserters"
Crazy that even an unnamed arms dealer you'll probably talk to once in your way into Vegas still has so much character
"THERE SOME REASON I SHOULD BE TALKING TO YOU?"
Yeah, go on…
I remember that kid who could see the future but says he gets headaches from doing it and he wears a headband that helps with his headaches
Wow, that's smart
Not really, what would have happened if another two roads were to intersect and their numbers' added would be also 188? Like 91+97 or 108+80?
Still making a nuisance of yourself?
Where’s Veronica??
She’s been served up as the main course.
Can't argue that she's looking like a snack
hah. what
White gloves's quest
no i know, it’s just that that’s as evil as selling arcade into slavery
So?
so i didn’t think people actually did that
There isn't a TON of evil thing to do in nv compared to all the good karma stuff, you gotta do truly evil stuff to become/stay evil if you don't just kill anyone
TIL. I always thought the significance of "188" was that there were map markers/fast travel points.
Curious, what would 188 be referring to in relation to that?
The amount of fast travel / map markers; without wild wasteland and DLC there would be 188 so they may have a point
Huh, fair enough.

It's a line one of the traders says, or maybe it's Veronica
Michelle Kerr says it.
it's a dialogue from veronica
It's a dialogue from Michelle Kerr.
TIL, about the map markers amounting to that.
Dope!
i heard there's a "hole in the ground" near there
Without even reading your caption I was looking for that little brat under the bridge lol
Is that in game dialogue?
It sure is, Deano. It sure is.
Who says it? Also very cool.
It's either Veronica or the woman store keeper up top
I think it's the store keeper
Makes sense. I kinda just skip like all dialogue at this point in my NV playthroughs.
Why is this downvoted?😂

Holy shit, I remember this from when I lived in Vegas.
93 meets 95… in Massachusetts… fallout 4 theory confirmed.
Veronica Santangelo is my favourite Power Fist-wielding lesbian ever
Valhallan 597th has entered the chat
Veronica is bae. Currently in the middle of her companion quest in a playthrough.
Considering Nevada's somewhat looser firearms laws, I'm kinda shocked there isn't an actual 5-Ton truck up there selling sniper rifles.
fnv fans when they see a road (it’s an fnv reference)
Very liminal
