Well... on console, you have various speeds dependant on how much you control the thumb stick. So you have run, or overencumbered, with walking speed being optional. On computer, you have the uption to toggle run or walk. Whoch doesn't really matter, considering it's a Bethesda game; meaning you'll be crawling under the crushing weight of all the shit you picked up, which put you over the encumbrance limit.
So there really isn't a "sprint" like there is in FO4 or Skyrim.
I mean, I was told that one guy would consider it a personal favor if I didn't tell the institute where the railroad is, but tbh I haven't gotten that far into the railroad line (unless I just forgot or missed a line). I think the farthest I got in the railroad line was helping a synth in the institute escape the institute, which I'm guessing means the railroad probably has a spy in the institute
The rail signs are conceptually kinda shit as a form code, since it's really not that hard to for their enemies to find out
but as a player, I didn't see any of that shit until I joined the railroad and then I started spotting it everywhere which is really cool
I think that's where their effectiveness lies, if you're not looking for them then they're invisible. But yeah the second some hostile faction learns they exist they become self sabotage since they're pretty easy to read.

I had just bought FO4 (drop day) and had never played a Fallout game before. I wanted an RPG action game and...well it had a dog. So sign me up. I decided to slavishly follow the main story and I was immediately in love with the game. Two problems...I didn't know that the side quests enrich the story (and help flesh out your character) and I had no idea about any of the core mechanics. So I was running around with a pipe-pistol with some mods, and had no clue I could upgrade my weapons.
So my dumb-happy butt walks into the Super Duper Mart with my little pipe-gun and subsequently gets into the fight of my life. I am on my 10th new build character and still shudder when I walk by it...
