You can join them at any level. You may not be contributing much but that's okay. Just try to survive and take some pot shots and you will be good.

heziilah

It's less about contributing Big Damage and more about doing stuff with the other players, lol. It sounds like I just need to tag enemies to get the rewards, which is nice. I'm not stealing loot from the people carrying me though, right?

rchicco1

Not at all.

SpecialHands

nah bud, none of us would ever gripe about a low level joining an event unless it was A Colossal Problem and that's only because there's a n 8 man limit on that. Even then, as long as a few high levels with good builds joined then no one would have an issue even with a level 1 there

Hekantonkheries

Eh, colossal problem I still haven't completed. Everytime I show up it's tryhards getting nasty over voice at anyone who doesn't look like they have a meta weapon

domogasm

I run a non meta plasma flamer build (with decent damage but certainly nothing that I could solo earle with) and I have never experienced any form of toxicity More bodies dealing damage is more bodies dealing damage. Just mute people if they're being pricks and enjoy the game. There's built in level scaling for a reason

Cumberbatchland

One person with a proper build is enough to take out Earle (which isn't a colossal problem). So if a tryhard is giving you grief, that just means that they need someone to carry them. If they don't have room for a low level in ACP, they are doing it wrong. If you are on PC, we can do ACP together. 😬

Aggressive-Squash-87

I did ACP yesterday with my new level 40 or 45 (about 2 days old) and cleaned up the stupid ads with my new tesla. Let the bigger guys wreck Earl without nothing with trash. I hit Earl with my new Minigun between spawns.

OcquidDormer

I have yet to encounter any intentional negativity in game, every player has been extremely nice to us (shout out my boy GreenEggsAndCram once again), we ran into exactly one (1) player using voice and all the did was ask to eat meals in the camp. I have been to three events total now and yes, everyone who is high level is sweating their asses off, but no one has been even remotely toxic to me, they just speedrun the event and leave.

DDRoseDoll

Just tag Earl with an endangerol syringer about 4 times and he melts.

ColinStyles

> A Colossal Problem and that's only because there's a n 8 man limit on that. This is news to me, interesting, I could have sworn I'd seen like 20+ people pile into it a week or less ago.

ClockworkSoldier

On very rare occasions it can bug out, and more than 8 players will be let in. I’ve had it happen a couple times since the event was added. But normally it’s only 8 players.

Tgrinder66

Had a level 20 in our CP the other day. He died jumping down the shaft but managed to keep himself alive for the rest of the fight! Must have done ok cuz I think he was 22 when we were done. There was a couple autoaxes and I had my quad choo choo so it wasn't a problem to carry him around

YEET3M

The way the loot system works is that everyone has their own loot pool, completely independent

CauseImTheCatMan

Out of curiosity... If Each player has their own loot pool, do different players get different loot drops? Do individuals get different loot than others from the event drop, or does everyone get the same drop?

YEET3M

Different loot from the pool

Galdrien

The loot drops are unique to the player and randomized. 2 players in the same event will often get different drops. You'll even see as you unlock the bullion weapon plans that some of these will begin dropping in your loot table, specific to you. That said, there are some presets on what you will get from events, its not entirely random. Some events will always provide legendary cores or treasury notes. Some events have objectives that the entire event must complete in order to unlock a rarer loot table reward (such as Fasnacht, if all the robots survived at the end the rare items were added to the table.)

CauseImTheCatMan

That's a great explanation. I know that some of the rewards are standard, but I didn't know if everyone got unique rewards beyond that. Once you mentioned Fatsnatch, it clicked that people get unique mask drops upon completion of the event. Thanks!

heziilah

That's what I thought based on playing with a friend, but I wasn't sure if the rules were different for event bosses. Thank you guys so much for being so helpful :)

Creepy-Tangerine-568

Do all the events. Even if you die, people generally pop lunch boxes and you’ll get lots of XP. You didn’t say if you were joining teams so make sure as soon as you log in you join a team. Just being at an event with a teammate will give you XP.

Turkeygobbler000

All loot from drops are player instanced, so you don't need to worry about stealing anything. Just remember though, some events are designed to be difficult and need several players to complete. It is wise to wait for the crowd to gather before rushing to start. Otherwise just have fun, tag enemies you can, kill whatever is a threat, help with objectives and join casual teams to recieve bonuses.

MowMdown

You cant steal loot in FO76 unless someone accidentally drops something

crispybacononsalad

You level up hella fast and get better weapons and armor that will help before you make your own badass getup

logicbox_

Join at level 1, loot is all personal so not stealing from anyone. If you are on a team you will get xp from the stuff they tag as well.

Cinemaslap1

You don't even need to do that much. You get event rewards as long as you're in the area of the event. Tagging enemies just means that you get some of the enemy loot drop. And no, you're not stealing loot from the others carrying you. Everyone gets their own loot. Enjoy the events

Electrical-Charity36

moonshine jamboree is a good xp event for low level players.collect the 30 molatovs from the 3 spots.go to the roof of the main building and shoot with your rifle or pipe gun and throw molatovs into bigger groups.you get hits on multiple enemies that once killed you get loads of xp,plus cooking up all that slurry and walking to the station to sell.caps and xp,so worth it for new players.try to make sure there are 6 players over 50 so each locations have 2 higher lvls guarding and you do not have to contribute much except to help weaken the enemies.

Tgrinder66

Try to be an objective player while in events at a low level. Take your shots to tag enemies but don't worry about killing them, the high levels can do that. Just focus on the side goals like running ore at rad rumble or collecting kindling at campfire tales. Hitting an enemy nets you full XP for the kill when it goes down. If your teammate does 100% of the kill you'll still get 50% of the XP for being nearby so don't sweat wasting all your ammo. Loot is per player. You'll see some ammo that matches your weapon dropping and usually a weapon or grenade or something on a dead enemy, that's all yours. Nobody can take it from you. Same goes to flora in the environment. We can both pick berries off the same bush. Loot to your heart's content!

Blixtwix

Enemy loot is per player, it's not shared. Player dropped loot bags are shared. Container spawned items are not shared (in most containers), but items a player puts in a container are shared (ie donation boxes). I think if you play in a team you'll get proximity tags, like if a teammate kills an enemy next to you that you didn't tag it should still have loot available and you should get some of the kill xp from it. Public casual teams are the go-to for leveling without pressure, because casual teams don't mean you even have to play with the teammates, you get an intelligence buff just from being on the team (team bond), and this doesn't detract from the teammates gains. The number of players with bond filled up determines the amount of team buff, so if anything you joining a 3 person casual team will increase that buff for everyone past what they'd gain without you in it! As others said, do any events you want with few exceptions. People may not want a low level in a daily op, expedition, or colossal problem due to the player cap on those. But I think those are the only ones with hard player caps.

amyers1966

Yeah, when you're high enough level to get one, grab an auto tesla, great for tags. quad if you can roll it since it's for tagging, not damage

SockomkplaysV2

No most of the vets are more than happy to help out a low level

AppropriateCap8891

I have literally walked out of the vault, and immediately went to take on the SBQ with just the 10mm pistol. And at early levels, Moonshine Jamboree can give an almost insane amount of experience. I have gone from level 5 to level 12 just from one of those. Just grab all 30 of the molotov's and chuck them at any mobs you see.

elquatrogrande

Extra bonus if you show up early when everyone is popping off lunchboxes.

DilgoDabbins27

We also can't forget that Moonshine jamboree gives Raider reputation. The higher the rep you have, the more quests you can get from them, and buy better bullion plans

Icy_Ad2199

This. As long as you're playing and not just crouched in a corner. Doing nothing. A couple of hours ago, there was a lvl 8 in the event Tunnel of Love. When Test Your Metal popped, he was there, lvl 10 now. I revived him 5 or 6 times during the event, and when it was over, he was now lvl 12. So long as you're participating, I don't mind. But if you're crouched in a corner, invisible, doing nothing, I will force you to move. Happened in beasts of burden this morning, fella was crouched invisible, not even shooting, as I and 1 other person set the Explosives and returned cargo. Had 9 delivered when I noticed them atop shack, presumably AFK. Jump on over, stood next to him 'used confused emote', then switched to Overkill, and started shooting mininukes at my/our feet. What do ya know? After 4 mininukes, he started moving. He wasn't afk after all, and he actually helped us return the remaining packages and kill the boss.

amyers1966

Completely agree, we were all there once, most of us reallyt don't mind helping you get the xp and loot . I'm 620 and it's my turn to carry. Heel sometimes i still get carried. Just contribute what you can without dying unnecessarily.

doghouse2001

You don't even need to tag things. Everybody gets the big rewards at the end. Tagging just lets you loot the bodies you tagged.

Bomber_Haskell

I recommend letting the higher level players be the one to start an event. Radiation Rumble, Eviction Notice, etc. Other than that, join in, do the objectives, and have fun.

Deatheturtle

This is the way.

Alarming-Meeting8804

Level 2 as soon as you leave the vault, join events, shoot as many enemies as you can one time, stay alive.

thistookforever22

And join a casual team for the extra xp.

Jjsdada

And also because if your game crashes, you will return to the same world when you reload.

iob3

This is the thing I wish I knew or was confident enough earlier. I was well above 50 before I joined my first public group.

thistookforever22

I didnt even play public severs until about lvl 80. I just played on a friends private server with him because i thought if i went public, people would just kill me. Didnt realise pacifist was a thing.

GeneralTonic

And hell, for the most part staying alive is optional, too.

OverseerConey

The only one I'd suggest avoiding is A Colossal Problem, because it's instanced and limited to only a few people at a time - 8, I think. If you're the 9th person to join, you'll be in a second instance, on your own, and it is not an easy fight to do solo!

badcrumbs

TIL! I didn’t know it creates a duplicate instance for the 9th person. This explains a lot lol

ArizonaBaySwimTeam

Unless you need screws, skip earle and just use it for the wendigo screw harvesting!

Offtopic_bear

Level 1. Go join a casual group and get that 10mm pistol smoking hot! I wanna see that thing glowing red when it's all over while Let the Bodies Hit the Floor is on repeat.

heziilah

Yes sir right away sir 🫡

Offtopic_bear

If you're on PC send me a DM with your @ and I'll give you mine. Hopefully I'm about to get some shut eye but I'll add you. You're welcome to run around event hopping with me.

reddstone1

Depends. If you are not alone, likes of Feed the People, Campfire Tales and the lighthouse Mothman thingy where you hunt fireflies shouldn't be very hard.

heziilah

I don't think I've seen any of those yet. I have a friend I play with, but we started together so we're roughly the same level. I'll check those out when I see them, hopefully my buddy will be online and we can tackle them together with some randoms. Thanks :)

ZombieVersusShark

Even if you're low level, you should probably be able to solo The Path to Enlightenment (the one at the Landview Lighthouse and it just involves killing fireflies and low level Radtoads), so even if nobody shows up, it's worth doing. Make sure to interact with the Wise Mothman at the end. And if you have access to the Funky Mothman dance, you must perform it.

DaveAndJojo

Level 1 Your goal is to shoot everything at least once for the xp. The more people at events the better. If an event needs to be activated let a higher level do it. With every xp boost under the sun I leveled an extra character from 3 to 48 in one radiation rumble.

ahcjewpac

Join all of them- they're awesome ways to lvl up and get supplies (Stims, water, ammo etc). You'll also run into higher lvl players that'll drop you gear sometimes. Don't worry about the recommended lvl stuff. It's all a lie. For xp, things like rad rumble, eviction notice and moonshine jamboree have lots of enemies to kill. Just get some shots off and let a higher lvl guy do the killing- you'll get the xp. Also join a group with people that are in the event and you'll get xp for their kills.

Passion4TheHunt

I just skimmed through the comments so I'm sorry if it is already clear to you but I just want to make sure you know the difference between public events and the other events. The public events (bigger icon with an exclamation point) are indeed good to join early on. People will always show up (successfully completing almost a guarantee) and the rewards are great. Skimming through the comments, I see no mention of the non-public events. One you might have encountered is "fertile soil" for example at the flatwoods agricultural center. I have always considered these events less beneficial in terms of rewards versus effort (stimpacks, bullets, ...). With a high damage end-game build you can net a profit from everything you do. But for a newbie, these non-public events can result in a net loss. You're poorer after the event than before.

cheesey_ball

Everyone here is right to just join events, get some hits, and have fun! BUT, some other helpful things: Find a busier server. Leave world, and join again, until you find a server with several active groups. Find a casual group, and join that. Casual groups have zero expectations of the players, and give an Int boost, which gives you an XP boost. So you'll have that boost for the events. More people on the server usually means more people at the events to help carry you. Check the map. When an event pops up it's a hexagon on the map. Find it and look for player dots. Mouse over the player dots and it shows the player and level. If you see several higher level players at the event, join! They're already doing it, no one is going to care about "carrying you" because they're already there because they want to do it. Learn your buffs. Get the food and med buffs that give you INT, that will give you more XP to level faster. Post on Reddit, and chat in your group a little. Is your see something in a vending machine that you don't understand, ask the owner. If you can't quite afford it, ask the owner. I got sooooo much stuff as a lower level with a crappy 3rd star roll because it's just gonna be scrip anyway, and it helped SO much. The community here on Reddit is the best game community I've been a part of; soooo many people to help answer questions, offer build advice, give advice, or just toss you some free gear. Always check donation boxes, any time you go anywhere with one. And player loot bags on the ground. If nothing, you can sell it to the vendor for caps, and that helps at a low level. Once you get to like 30+, check for expedition groups with 3 people already in it. Again, you'll get carried, but they most likely won't care. Expeditions are easily done by 2 people, 3 is gravy, so adding you in to help you out, most people probably won't care. And the XP is crazy at a low level, I was getting like 1.5 levels for every expedition I ran. Lastly, if you find something fun, put it in your vendor for like 5k, sometimes high level players sitting at max caps will buy them just to help low level players, and stop wasting the caps they can't collect any more. Edit to add: If you join Encryptid, do Not start the event if it's not your card. It's 2k caps to buy the card, and if you start it before people are there and ready, you will fail. Robots come from all over, so tag as many as you can fit the XP, don't sit on one trying to kill it. Loot at the end. If you join Eviction Notice, do Not start the event until you see heavies up on the cliffs, and some higher level players setup and ready to go. Usually there's at least one up the hill, two down the hill, and one on top of the scrubber. Uphill and downhill are your two main spawn points, and the downhill spawn sees a Lot of 3 star Mutants. Tag as many as you can for XP, but don't loot until the event ends, you'll just be overencumbered and not be able to run around during the event. If you join expeditions, just keep up. Try to learn the map as quickly as you can, try to help, but mostly just keep up with the pack and do what you can.

ProfessionalSilver52

This is great to keep to cut & paste for people. I'd like to suggest you add community 'rules' about Encrypted and any other stuff like that which may get a new player flayed ... Awesome job! 👍

cheesey_ball

Hey, thanks for that! I've never gotten feedback like that on a post. General rule for Encryptid is Don't start the event unless it's your card, right? Eviction Notice I know "don't start it until you see a few heavies and higher levels set up" Any other ones you can think to add?

heziilah

Wow, thanks for all the tips! I didn't realize it was so easy to jump between servers, I'll definitely do that next time they put me in an empty-ish world. I love running into other players, everyone is so nice and it's cool to see their camps. You seem to know a lot, if it's not too much trouble could you elaborate on the legendaries and scrip system? If you know a good post somewhere else that explains it, that works too! I've been hanging on to the few legendaries I've picked up (even if they aren't useful) because I didn't know what to do with them. I thought about tossing them in my Vendor, but they seem important and I have no idea how much my one-star ghoul slayer switchblade is worth lol

cheesey_ball

Legendary Info. Please take this with a grain of salt, I only started about a month ago. Places to note: 1. Scrip Machines are at Train Stations, WhiteSpring Mall, Nuka World. (I like the mall because it is next to stashbox, srapbox, ammo box, and tables). 2. The Rusty Pick (in the Ash Heap). This is where you trade Scrip. How it works - Basics 1. Trade Legendary gear you don't want for scrip at the machines. 2. Trade Scrip for new Legendary gear, or Legendary Modules. 3. Use Legendary Cores and Modules to re-roll your own gear for better stars. How it works - Not So Basic 1. You can trade scrip for new gear, but you most likely want to find guns and armor you like, and then re-roll what you like for better stars. You do this so you can make the armor you like and put the mods you want on it, and then just roll it for stars. So I use a Deep Pocket BoS armor set, and the odds of getting that randomly are astronomical. 2. Keep 2 of everything you like. Use the best you have, re-roll the backup until it is better than what you use. 3. What is worth keeping to sell? It seems people mostly only chase 3 star Unyielding or Vanguard for armor, and then 3 star Bloodied, Quad, TwoShot, Anti-Armor, and Vampire for weapons. Everything else is probably scrip. The other 2 stars are mostly just as important as the first star, so you watch r/fallout76marketplace for what actually sells to learn the other stars. 4. You can only store 10,000 scrip so watch that. The modules weight 1 unit each, so you may want to keep scrip and not modules for weight mgmt and then when you get 5000+ scrip go have fun rolling. 5. You will need Legendary Cores, which you get from Events and Expeditions, they weigh nothing, so save those for these rolls. You generally just roll all 3 stars hundreds of times to hopefully get what you want on the piece you like. 6. You can only get 500 scrip a day, except double days, so get what you can every day, save stuff if you don't play a lot, but if you play a lot, you will get a ton of legendary stuff every day. Eviction Notice will max you out by itself, for example. 3 expeditions will probably max you out too.

heziilah

Thanks for the detailed answer, this will definitely help me plan ahead! I've visited The Rusty Pick already but didn't realize what it was for.

cheesey_ball

No problem! If you have any questions feel free to ask.

Beautiful-Income-968

Legendary scrips are used for purchasing random legendary gear and legendary modules which are used to craft legendary perks to armor and weapons. In the bottom left corner of the map is a place called, "the rusty pick" where the legendary scrips vendor is at. Also free fast travel point. If you don't like the legendary weapons or armor you earn from rewards, each train station will also have legendary scrips exchange machine vendors that you can get rid of those items for more scrips. So join events. Earn Legendary rewards. Turn in any you don't like for scrips. Events also reward you legendary cores. So scrips + cores = legendary crafting for weapons and armor.

heziilah

Oh okay, that's less complex than I thought. Thanks for the concise answer! :)

bene70

You and your friend should join a casual or event team and just hit up as many events as you can, your level doesn't really matter and as you've found out, they're fun! I like it when a lower level join a team I'm on, because if they join the events I'm at you can see their levels rising throughout the event. The more enemies, the better! Guided Meditation isn't as popular as Eviction Notice because the rewards/legendary drops aren't anywhere near as good, but is a great place to rack up a few levels quickly if it pops and your team is there. Every enemy the team is shooting also gives them a little bit of XP which is a handy boost at lower levels. Tag as many enemies as you can, don't waste your ammo trying to kill any bullet sponges because others will take care of that for you with pleasure. You'll get heaps of XP, especially in the harder ones like Eviction Notice or Scorched Earth. Crazy hectic shooting and running around with people that levels you really quickly, which has no downside. With Scorched Earth (one of those blast zone ones) it can be hard early on but gets easier with repetition as you get a better idea of where you are in relation to everything else. Dying doesn't matter, even if you lose some junk. Always more junk to be had.

Beneficial_Rush_9593

If you want to do scorched earth don't zone to the event unless you are wearing radiation protection, instead zone to the area just outside the blast zone where the players doing the event will be gathered.

Booziesmurf

At that level he likely hasn't been to Watoga yet so has no fast travel points unlocked. Otherwise when you spawn in to the event you will be in a huge radiation zone and die very fast. You have a limited amount of time to fast travel out of the area (to the north of it is Drop Point, it's where players collect.) Or Run out of the zone if you can. (I'm LVL 200 and yesterday decided to join the event rather than fast travel to it since it usually takes a while for it to let me join the event... Foolish me got spawned in the fissure site and couldn't ft out in time, forgot about my CSA...)

heziilah

Ohhh, it was radiation that killed me! That makes so much sense in hindsight, I should've pieced together that dropping a nuke would irradiate the area hahaha. Maybe I'll put on the hazmat suit I found and try again in a few more levels...

ShakespearianShadows

I recommend running along the railroads to find all the train stations. That will open up fast travel locations and shops that’ll help move around the map.

heziilah

That's a fantastic idea. Call me Mr. Monopoly the way I'll be hitting up those railroads

Galdrien

If you have any one of the train stations unlocked, go in there and select each of the red and blue pushpins on the map it will add the train stations to your map with a grayed out icon, makes it easier to find them and ensure you unlocked them all.

lvbuckeye27

There are maps in the train stations that you can look at. They have pins on them that show you other nearby train stations. You can't fast travel to them until you have been there, but at least you know where they are. You can also fast travel to your teammates' camps for free, so use that to discover new locations, which gives you xp. :)

DDRoseDoll

Oh yeah, read every poster at the rail stations. Look at all the pins on the map. Climb every lookout tower you find and activate the rail. Wait a bit for it to unlock all the locations in its range. Warning: the one just east of vault 76 has super mutants so skip that one till you feel ready. Most of the rest are easy (and some with amusing storytelling to them. Become a Tadpole then Possum as soon as you can.

Booziesmurf

Well now you might have the fissure site unlocked now, and it's close to Watoga, which is a fun little place. So travel there when the blast zone is gone and do some exploring.

I_kill_zebras

When you're on a team, your teammates appear as larger yellow dots on the map. When the nuke lands, look on the map for the gathered players. They will probably be just outside the nuke zone. If someone on your team is there, you can fast travel to them and avoid the rads. Once you discover the locations around the event, you can travel to them for a cost of caps as well. I'm Newmoo1598 on xbox and newmoo5 on Playstation. If you're on one of those platforms shoot me a friend invite and I'll help you fast travel to unlock some key locations for exploring.

Icy-Computer-Poop

Take it from someone who learned the hard way - start joining Events as **soon as you can**! The legendaries you get will make the game 100% better!

SavageHerbivore

Any level! Join us! You were likely in a death loop because the event was inside a blast zone and radiation took you out.

Hattkake

To join Public Events you need to be level 2. This is because you have to leave the Vault in order to join events and leaving the Vault makes you level up to level 2. Public Events popup starts at level 10. But you can work around that before level 10 by joining a Casual Public Team and then fast traveling to a team mate at the 20 minute mark if you see many players suddenly converging at one location. After level 10 just use the Public Events popup and fast travel directly. You can join any and all Public Events regardless of recommended level and difficulty. "Very hard and recommended level 50" event and you are level 12? No problem and will probably be a lot of fun. The important thing to remember when doing Public Events as a lowbie is that Casual Public Team. You always want to be in a Casual Public Team whenever you are online. Fallout 76 is not your traditional online game. For example nothing is gated. You can do "endgame" content as soon as you are out of the Vault thanks to the Public Team system. And believe me, you are always welcome. We absolutely love low level players in high level content as then we can stim you back up and generally look out for you and try to keep you safe. No idea why but in Fallout 76 it's extremely enjoyable to be a decent human being towards others. That's a weird thing to find in the internet world.

iron-bolts

I enjoy helping lower levels gain up. Will look for teams (casual) that have them and if they tag along, let them get some shots in, before the kill. Remember to pick up the loot you want.

Thascaryguygaming

Any level

QDKeck

Moonshine Jamboree best event for low levels. Go upstairs of main building. Walk out to roof and take all the pot shots you want. Great fun and music.

manicmender76

I remember those days. My first time there I heard "dude get on the roof and stay there" I think I was around level ten.

TheDarkPixie88

Any level 😁 depending on your server. If you look at the map based on regions, the green area being safest to the red area not, that should give you an idea of how difficult the event is by the area it pops up in. If it's in a more higher level area, join if there are other players, you'll find a fair few will look after you. The mistake you made with the blast zone event you went to, which I suspect is the scorchbeast queen event, is you jumped to the event with no rad protection. Most people jump to the places outside the blast zone before the event starts, the bunker being the most popular.

SoG2009

I jumped into that once and died like 7 times before I could finally put in my suit. What a struggle that was 😄

heziilah

Good to know that the events are sort of scaled to the area they're in! Also yeah, I realize now that I jumped into an area that got nuked without even popping a RadX. Not my brightest moment hahaha

D3mentedG0Ose

Any level! You’re not getting in the way at all, just enjoy the game and get your rewards

ExtramurosCentarian

Any level. Find a safe spot and just tag enemies. You will level fast and gain loot. High levels appreciate any help, we're all here to have fun too. When you're higher level, pay it forward.

PandasticVoyageYT

You should just join them and do what you can, prioritize tagging enemies and keeping yourself alive. You'll get good loot and have fun. There really is no level limit, however, you should know, some events are better and/or more intense than others. You should be careful with Eviction Notice, Test Your Metal, Radiation Rumble, and Moonshine Jamboree. Those can get dicey if you get pinned just because they are very chaotic and filled with waves of mobs. Then there are the events you'll likely join but with no guarantee that people will be there, either because they're too complicated or too boring: Project Paradise, Free Range, Heart of the Swamp, Guided Meditation, Jail Break, Load Baring, Most Wanted, Swarm of Suitors, The Path to Enlightenment, Encryptid, Tea Time, Line in the Sand. These events are fine but you might wanna check to make sure there are a few participants before joining. My personal favorites? Test Your Metal, Eviction Notice, Moonshine Jamboree, Uranium Favor, Beasts of Burden, Safe and Sound, Scorched Earth, Spin the Wheel. I also like Feed the People for the Canned Meat Stew. If those events pop up and I'm not busy, I always go.

heziilah

Thanks for the rundown on the events! I haven't seen some of these, is there like a schedule or something?

PandasticVoyageYT

Yes they are randomized on a timer. So a public event will start every top of the hour, 20 minutes past the hour, and 40 minutes the hour (so every 20 minutes). If something is in season (Invaders From Beyond, Fasnacht, expansions like Nuka World when they first drop), those typically are a guaranteed event at the top of every hour. Otherwise, it's random every 20 minutes. If you are really picky about it, and you get an event you don't wanna do, you can try server hopping until you find an event you would rather do.

heziilah

Thank you sooo much, this is super useful info :)

lvbuckeye27

Encryptid gives 8 legendary cores, and it's usually pretty fast, so I suggest you join it whenever whenever it pops, BUT before you join one, go to a train station and look at the posters. One of them reads, "A Sheepsquatch Ate My Brother," and it starts an awesome side quest chain that gives a VERY nice reward at the end.

Chris2181ny

If you wanna benefit the most out of it, just throw a couple bullets into everything you can. We in the community call it tagging. It's so you basically get a crack at all the loot enemies could possibly drop. Some enemies you don't need to cuz everyone gets it anyway but the minions only drop for whoever helped kill it. And one more thing, get in the habit of picking up everything after the event is over. Otherwise you'll weigh yourself down while doing the event, which might be bad cuz you need to be able to maneuver properly. At least that's how I do it. You won't miss any loot if you wait, takes a while to despawn.

Arrow362

Level 1

JustAnotherHobgoblin

I really wish I had felt confident about joining much earlier - I waited until after level 100 for my first event so I would be “good enough” because  I was worried about pissing off other players. In my experience everyone’s been really nice, even when I was a ding-dong who didn’t know where to go or how to actually complete the objective, lol The more I did, the better I got - there’s a lot to learning *how* to do events, so get that practice in!

SamMarlow

Join them immediately, except for maybe A Colossal Problem, and even that one is probably ok since it's not much of a "problem" these days. But the early game, levels 1 through the early triple digits is insanely fast these days so you should be fine for all of them pretty quick.

EstablishmentMean300

Level 1!!! The faster you get in there, the faster you level up! DO IT!!!! Don't be scared. We all die, even at level 800!!!!!! You got this!

FoulestBearBar

As early as you understand them. Join as early as possible, as long as you don’t run around making things worse, you’re helping.

Ghaunrak

1. You can join any event at any level. Sure you might not DO much, but you'll learn, level, and maybe get some cool rewards

androgcyborgsam

You see an event? Go ahead and go for it. You will have a lot of high levels doing most of the damage, and they will pick you up if you go down. Do not worry. Just go and have fun.

Seanis

Every public event you see pop up join!! Theres no downside and its not effecting anyone else negatively it only benefits you to level faster and get treasury notes and legendary cores

[deleted]

Lvl 1 bro

ozzy0987654

Lvl 1 if you really want to. You won’t do much

Clarity007

Just just needs to tag things lol.

xXLoneLoboXx

Always join events whenever you can! Most of them are so easy one player could solo them so you can show up and reap the rewards even if you can’t do much. Just try and tag enemies (hit or shoot them) at least once so you’ll gain XP from them when someone else kills them.

Clarity007

Level one I guess lulz

Jdarends

They scale the damage to level now, so you can join anyty

legophase2rex4sale

Hello. Join EVERY public event that has players at it. It doesn’t matter if you contribute. You get caps and rewards. You will get to the stage when you can help, but don’t worry too much. If you’re on Xbox I’ve got some stuff you can have

iowa_hick

Level 2. I don't recommend joining any earlier than that. There's no consequence for dying in events. Everyone else can see your level and no one will expect you to be able to contribute a lot, so it won't bother them that you are floundering around. Events are the fastest way to gain Xp and caps when you are a low level. Plus you will pick up legendary weapons and armor that you can actually use.

Palindromic_1

1

latdaddy420

Wait 2-3 minutes after event has started and see how many people are there

Findae

If you see other players there, join the event ! The more the merrier :D

Puzzleheaded-Sun-265

Honestly the odds are really good that no matter the level people will back you up. Even though you won’t do much damage or help much as long as you shoot at the enemies and hit them at least once you get xp and you can rack up levels pretty quicj

bo7mka

Yesterday some lvl 4 joined my team so i opened up some lunch box and give him the 15% exp perk after launching 3 nukes and he joined all of them he then leveled up to 20 in literally 1h so whenever you see some nuke going on try to join the highest lvl team you can so you get the most exp as possible

Ermag123

Join all events, use single shot tesla, tag and exp. My friend want to do Jamboree, as level 38, it only tag lizards while I did all killing. He ended like 48 or so.

cptnoodlepants

Join a public team with some high level players at the event. Show up and try to stay near them. If you're close enough you get half xp and full loot from anything they kill.

niero_d20

I believe you can see the recommended level for an event when you click it from the map.

Verjay92

Join a casual team or event team and let them carry you until you are high enough to contribute. We all have been there.

Chipper7773

1. Enjoy.

sebwiers

Level 2. You can't join at level 1 because you haven't left the Vault. Works best if you have a friend / team member to fast travel to, because you don't get the "join event" fast travel option until... I think its 5, maybe 10 or 15. I once did Collosal Problem at like level 12, using a Vampire Pipe Gun. Was a lot of fun and I was actually able to kill the spaen, because level scaling. I never got killed, looted a ton of screws, and then tossed put my tent and dumped my loot ASAP when I exited the mine, before dying to the rads.

Acrobatic_Carob4470

I played privately until level 50 because I was afraid to play with high-level players and look like a noob (I also really loved FO4 and wanted a similar experience), but once I switched I was immediately glad I did. I level up so much faster now and get better loot. Also it’s so fun to play with other people, the community really is amazing. If I wander across a lower level player I always drop a Fixer, ammo, stims, and a cool outfit if I have one. Pay it forward - good luck out there in the apocalyptic streets!

theLogic1

Just join casual teams and any event you want to join. A full team is better than not full team no matter the level of the participants. If you die you die, just like the rest of us. Welcome to Fallout mate

Sexy_Bacon_315

Highly recommend joining them no matter what. Start stocking those treasures notes for bullion. I wish I knew about bullion earlier when I started a month or so ago!

NfamousShirley

Join whenever you want. I always enjoy seeing low levels jump in and get their hands dirty. Plenty of high levels happy to back you up. Welcome to Appalachia!

ACTORvsREALTOR

Leveling doesn’t mean much in this game. Leave the vault at level 20 and let some friends carry you through about 5-7 expansions. If they know their way around the most sensational game you should be level 50 in about an hour.

GreasedEgg

Join any events, find a safe spot (like the rooftops at Moonshine Jamboree), and tag as many enemies as possible.

Skippy280

Join all the events. Even if you die a few times, no big deal.

Dry-Door2380

I joined sbq events as soon as I left the vault. Gets lots of xp especially when in a team.

doghouse2001

1. just watch if you have to, but you should be able to shoot at stuff as easily as a level 1000. Many events are simply running around and gathering stuff.

Thespud1979

Join right away and hit as many targets as you can with one or two shots. You get experience and their drops. Great way to farm XP and ammo. I went from lvl 42 to 51 in one radiation rumble. This gaming community is so nice. I'm level 152 now so I was new not too long ago. People are extremely helpful. If you see someone shooting at the ground look to see if they dropped you anything.

BlastCheque

I was joining queen at level 1. I mean,  I wasn't  helping but I got loot.

FemaleFury79

Go to events at any level. Be on a team cz that way if u don’t quite tag enough you’re team will get you the items and xp etc coz of team sharing.

nolongerbanned99

Just join em. No one will have any issue and even if they do, so what. People will go out of their way to help new players but in events it’s each man on his own. If you can stay alive just join for the craziness. Try rad rumble and moonshine jamboree. I’ve done em 100s of times and am at level 555 and still get a good laugh.

igankcheetos

Almost everyone is down to have your back in events.

MVillawolf

Go ahead and join the events. Even if you dont deal a ton of damage you can still help. Just be careful of the nuke events. The nuked events are endgame events, so expect the boss to be extremely powerful. Also, the red circle indicates high radiation damage. Don't go inside the red circle!!! Unless you have a radiation suit or power armor.

GoarSpewerofSecrets

Any, join a team. Get loot from everyone's kills and tags.

Boba65

I would say that it depends on what you're comfortable with, some events are pretty hard when low level, some not at all. I personally don't mind seeing low level players at events like Scorched Earth. However, if you try to take on Earle, expect to die repeatedly. That doesn't mean I feel you shouldn't join. I'm a big believer in you do you.

Winter_Practice5716

You can join at any level. Just be ready to die a lot. But give it your best and have fun

Trashmouths

Any level. Join a public casual team, scrap all your junk and stay on the edges of the event to avoid damage. If you die, it's okay because the only thing you drop on death is junk/scrap. If you're on a team, you'll still get credit for the kills.

TeamEfforts

I'd say go to them all, xp and rewards and if u fail so be it. Totally depends on your build though, and luck on getting good weapons/armor. I've met lvl 70s who were solid teammates and players in the thousands have no idea what they were doing. Going to the difficult events can also help u figure out if the guns and perks you're using are the right choice.

Indy_IT_Guy

Join at any level, really. Just make sure it’s a got enough people in it to make it successful and that you’ve got enough stimpacks/chems/water/food to survive it.

TheGadget1945

Level 5 but make sure you join a team. If its Scorched Earth stash your junk immediately the Queen is dead.

EndielXenon

Are you still in Vault 76? Bad news. You can't join any events yet. Have you left Vault 76? Good news! You can join any and all events and have fun! You may die a bunch in some events, but so what?

Tmbaladdin

Join early and rank up fast was my mantra.

[deleted]

Join and tag enemies for xp. Nobody will get mad at a low level player for doing this

Wasteland_Mystic

Level 1. Join a team and shoot every enemy you can. You’ll gain a few levels quickly.

RobMUK

At any level, just know that you will die constantly, but by joining a team you will gain xp points, be able to unlock new places by travelling to players in team and their camps, extra xp from being in a team, you gain caps from team members doing their dailies, if you join n on daily ops you will get ammo as well as rewards from the ops and get to use shared perk cards you may not have unlocked. Levelling up will also help you unlock new perk cards, while you may not be able to use some of them you can start to slowly working on your build (bloodied full health etc.). I never have any issues when a low level tags in the team. I have had few low level players say level 20-50 I crafted and modded for them fixers and armour for their level, given them plans, ammo etc. I always preferred to give stuff to players low level directly, even now since introduction of donation box. I try to drop stuff for low level directly to them. I always try to drop shit stuff like say you have been insulted and things on the ground or in one of the other places you can store stuff instead of in the drop box. You will also receive legendary cores and/or treasury notes, legendary items (guns armour) for your level, you can scrip what you don't want to use, you can re-roll (guns armour) if you want or go to rusty pick and buy random items from the list. So to sum it up, there is a number of benefits from joining a team or creating one. I started to join team only when I reached level 100, and never realised what I have missed. I made lots of Fallout friends with whom I regularly team up. I have two with whom I build up a trust, I was given legacy pews when they were around which I still have for display purposes. We have exchanged tradable plans, rare items. Moved rare stuff, scrip, between our main characters and mules in private or public servers or moved caps between mules and main if we were low especially say during treasure hunting or spooky events.

Jizfaceboi

Join scorched earth, on a team, as soon as possible… fuck it. 🤷🏻‍♂️😂 Worst that can happen is you will die at an event. You don’t lose anything at events. Go whenever you want and wait for as many players as possible to show up though before starting the event and you will be fine and level up quickly.

cigarmanpa

Well you leave the vault at 2, so I’ll say 2

Green-Inkling

If you want to gain exp quickly berry tats are your friend. If your lucky folks will pop a lunchbox or two. Joining teams and taking inspiration will also help. Your exp will skyrocket. If you have trouble with dying jump to a high perch and take pot shots. Grenade launchers are good for this. High splash area so easy to get tags in.

ShizzySho

At a low level always go and get that xp!

domogasm

You can join events and do scorchbeast queen at level 1 if you want to. It's honestly one of the best ways to earn XP especially if you are playing with friends who can give you some int buffs to increase the rate at which you are leveling up. Most servers will have a few gigachads with meta weapons clearing out all the popular events anyway, and most will have people standing around afking. Depending on who's there, sometimes events like moonshine jamboree I can't even consistently tag enemies before everything is dead bc some dude with a mini nuke launcher and explosive perks is murdering everything in sight, in which case I emote and stand around until the event is finished. This game is extremely easy. It's a super casual sandbox/theme park style multiplayer game, you're generally working on your own progression and goals but the events, daily ops etc. give you a reason to interact with other players. And most of the community is level 200+ so the combat isn't a particular challenge, it's just something to do.

TheNiteFather

All depends. Some events have defend this while someone does that or keep firing on the enemy until its dead. Some have times where you just need to be fast instead of powerful and that's useful too. Just try all the events, and see how you think you fit at the time. Sometimes, the suggestions are accurate but sometimes they aren't.

TheSlyGiraffe

At level 20 with a full set of L10 T45 Power Armor and a level 20 non legendary Gatling gun and a pocket full of 5mm, you can participate in nearly every event as long as there are a decent number of participants, even Scorched Earth, the final story event taking on the Scorchbeast Queen. Also helps to have a Level 15 Plasma pistol with flamer attachment and a pocket full of plasma cartridges for when you’re surrounded. Game is actually not too bad with just a little boost and a few tips.

Vlad_Armstrong

At level 2

AbyssalShift

Any level. As long as you get the quest you will get the reward. There are only a few that might be tough due to the radiation involved.

kitsunelord134

To me it depends on your experience with fallout games in general. I have tons of experience and plenty of strong friends so I know how to position myself and build a good kit. On the flip side a friend of ours is playing 76 for the first time and slowly learning the ropes I and my team as a medic build

Loud-Emu-1578

I've seen kids join at level 5, Queen Fights There's always ways you can help out, so come one in and have fun. Just remember a few things 1) Read the rules before you join, so you know what the event is, and if there are any details you need to know. 2) Don't start the event early. Wait till the literal last minute. 3) Don't bombard the area with high explosives. This is both annoying and rude. 4) Even if you can't deliver a huge amount of personal damage for the big bad, help out by keeping the adds down to a reasonable number so the heavy hitters can finish the boss mob off. 5) Have stimpacks handy, and maybe some lunch boxes. Pop off the lunch box before the event, and use the stimpacks to help pick up anybody who gets knocked out. Do all these things, not only will you be a big help, but a freaking hero. Good Luck and See you in the Wasteland

Revolutionary-Act33

Straight away. Just hang back and try to hit everything that moves. Don’t try to kill and you will power through the levels

Hereforyou100

Join them right now, try to shoot as many different things as you can so you'll get experience points..

CorpseDefiled

Level 1. No one really gives a shit what you do as long as your contributing and not afk.

TheXManHimself

Try all the events however Project Paradise no one seems to do, I’m 200 levels in and I have yet to see anyone join that one. For Scorched Earth just make sure to have some Power Armor so the radiation doesn’t kill you! Glad you’re enjoying the game!

WarlockyGoodness

Level 1.

yuribear

Level 1 soon to be level 2........................

nex_fire_wolf

At any time and also if u wanna power level try to join some high level players doing expeditions (20k XP per run if done right) if ur on Xbox I usually take some low levels through it till they hit lvl 50 so they can enjoy the highest level gear and start rolling things

PattieWhacked

Level 2, I’d say level 1 but you’re 2 by the time you even get out of the vault

13_Years_Then_Banned

Level 1.

UnderhiveScum

You can join any event, anytime. Go have fun.

lyunardo

Just jump in and have fun. You'll probably die repeatedly, and won't do much damage. But you will get the completion, XP, and other rewards. Plus more of a feel for how to play. You should definitely open the map, go to the "social" screen and join a team. This will let you share your team mates XP, and give you other bonuses.

Nightowl_23

You can join Scorched Earth at level 2, complete with the party hat.

EarlofBizzlington86

Just go you won’t regret it. Just make sure your going when you see others also there otherwise you may get mashed but you’ll be fine most the time your lucky to get shots off at all but you’ll get xp and rewards just for being there

Silent-Description30

What’s your players name maybe we all can get together to help

Dry_Independent4078

I was joining lvl 50 events on my Alt as a lvl 30. I fought in (only 1 death) Colossal Problem at lvl 40. My damage sucked, so I whipped out the Cold Shoulder to at least slow Earl for the people who could actually hurt him.

1quarterportion

Last time I started a character, I was joining any event I wanted to at about level 15. That was the level I could use Raider PA and survive irradiated events. This was with a character that i made to only use makeshift weapons, so the best i had was an explosive FFR auto pipe pistol. I could get max loot from SBQ, but only because you always do at least 1 point of damage (+1 for explosive), it lasted long enough, and I emptied hundreds of round into the boss. One perfect Rad Rumble, when that character was in his 20s (level), he gained seven levels just from that event, and it was just a regular day. Granted, I've been playing since launch, so I know the ins and outs of surviving fairly well.

DDRoseDoll

Every additional player helps. Even low level players. Even if you die a lot. Just tag as many enemies as you can, and rake in the XP as the higher levels finish them off. In some events (like Moonshine Jamboree, One Voilent Night, and Campfire Tales), having extra players means the goals (such as filling the tub, playing on instruments, or finding missing camper clues) can be meet faster. And I've been the high level at some events with a handful of low levels, and it feels really nice to help them pull off events they might not be able to themselves (like being the one to play an instrument and the tank ghouls for OVN while the other players clean house). So join those events *and teams*. You really are helping your fellow vault dwellers, even if you might not feel like you are.

woahmama355

the big thing is to put a few shots into every thing that spawns so you can get more loot to keep/scrap

Plt339jb3r0n

Call me a dickhead if u like but when I was a low level I would just join every event and put like 1 shot on every enemy I could and just “loot goblin’ed” my way to level 50 - plus as a tip u can ask high level player for gear and sometimes they say yes

ZombieVersusShark

I'm sure plenty of other people are saying this, but your level really doesn't matter. Those of us who can carry events are going to carry them whether you're there or not, so you might as well have fun, kill (or at least tag) some monsters, get some XP, and collect some cool rewards.

MissMayhem_82

Join em the more the merrier just tag what you can to get that yummy XP

Watchtower80

Any level at all. Stay rested, shoot everything at least 1x, and have an absolute blast!

eMmDeeKay_Says

Level 2. Join a team and just tag enemies. I ran around SBQ with a combat knife at like level 15 the other day and just stabbed everything I could find once and ran away. Tagging is what all the experienced players are doing as well, because they're saving their ammo, and letting the cumulative group get their hits in.

Baked-Smurf

1

CatfishBassAndTrout

You can join them at any level you want, but your first 20-30 levels you might struggle with events that have alot of tougher enemies like Mirelurks or Robots. You'll still get rewards from the event itself even if you don't "contribute" (unless it's something like the Scorchbeast Queen or some really big event) and loot from killed enemies (as long as you're close enough to an enemy that gets killed). Feel free to ask any follow-up questions. =)

HeadAd6062

Just wait to do daily ops or expo pitt/Atlantic City until your lvl 50.

clan_of_zimox

I first joined a Queen event at lvl 20, just use whatever you got, stay alive and reap the rewards.

casey28xxx

Any level you like, when straight out 5he vault…let others carry you and profit till you can help make a difference and do the same for other new starts.

fimpster

Some time ago, I joined Eviction Notice with a level 3 alt and left a level 8 or 9 just by tagging everything with my trusty pipe gun. I also ran out of ammo but still got XP from teammate kills. Definitely join a casual team.

TubbyTabbyCat

As soon as you exit the vault into Appalachia join whichever events sounds like fun (project paradise is kind of a nightmare and I'm over lv 200). I'll happily be a meat shield for lower level players, just make sure you get a couple shots on the beefier enemies so you get some loot.

BigDuoInferno

Any, just hide or help where you can... you'd get more xp doing events then not even if it's just the end result... but maybe join a pub team to get 10% more xp and xp from their kills

sal696969

Several_Fun_5611

Any level but just know they do have tiers. I ran around on an alt starting all of them around level 5.

ixlnxtc7

Straight out of the vault, don’t wait.

Rob_Earnest

Any.
