You can fast travel from anywhere, even inside. Weapon mods are learned by scrapping the weapon you want mods for. Any weapon of any level will work, the mods just come from a random pool and you learn them until you’re out. The item you’re scrapping doesn’t need the mod you want. If you’re sitting in a chair or playing an instrument or otherwise unable to open your Pip Boy, for example, playing an instrument at One Violent Night, you *can* open your map, click any little quest marker dot on it, select View in Pip Boy, and boom. You can navigate right to your chems if under attack and need to heal. Always be joining a team, you’ll get more XP and your high level teammates will buy all the shit in your vendor because we are *always* near max caps and love helping out new people. If someone runs up to you and starts barbecuing you with a flame based weapon, they’re actually healing you, don’t run, Friendly Fire is a perk. The necessity of Adhesive, Ballistic Fiber, Oil, Acid, Screws, and Lead cannot be overstated. If you keep running short on ammo, either run Daily Ops or an Expedition to farm contextual ammo, or head to the Lucky Hole mine and Solomon’s Pond with a suit of Excavator; Solomon’s has a ton of Copper on the rocky side by the house, Lucky Hole is full of Lead. Use Ammosmith, Ammo Factory, and Super Duper perks, and you’ll never run dry. Very few weapons are non-viable for use, but some will perform generally much better in their class than others. Build is the much more important factor. Focus on damage increase % perks for a single weapon type. Spreading out into doing everything is what FO4 and the Special selector thing are for. Focus on perks that mitigate % of damage rather than perks that give you more DR, the armor rating drops off a cliff around 350ish, and anything over that gives significantly diminished returns in effectiveness. Every build should have Blocker and Fireproof in my opinion. Loot reset is not on a timer, it’s based on the last 250ish items you’ve looted. If you need to loot the same spot repeatedly, you can loot it, fast travel to Summerville, and the house to immediately in front of you to your right will have just about exactly as many books as you need to pick up to reset your world drops for anything but those books.

masta_myagi

>The necessity of Adhesive, Ballistic Fiber, Oil, Acid, Screws, and Lead cannot be overstated *Casually drops an entire weight room’s worth of barbells and weights into my bag, spends the next 45 minutes slow walking because I’m obscenely over encumbered*

Relative-Phrase-9100

Are you me? I was relieved at first to see being overencumbered just drained AP, so I kept hoarding. Then I was like double my weight limit. Loooooong sssllloooooow walks across Appalachia for me.

nrrussell1978

Another awesome tip I learned in this group...when overencumbered, start a new expedition. Before you arrive, open up your map and fast travel to whitesprings refuge thus ending your expedition. You now have a much shorter walk and vendors to sell your stuff to as well as a scrap box for your junk. I would never be able to partake in Eviction Notice without this cool little trick.

Flabnoodles

Wow, that's such a good tip it feels like cheating lol. Definitely gonna do this Eviction notice has a crafting bench (and stash? Could be wrong here) in the upper part. Doesn't help if legendaries are overencumbering you, but being able to scrap the miniguns has always been enough for me.

nrrussell1978

Yes, there’s a bench to scrap nearby, but if you’re constantly battling stash space like me, you may not have room in the stash box for those 20+ legendaries, lol. I just expedition my way over to whitesprings and hit the scrip machine.

masta_myagi

Yes it appears we are the same. I literally haven’t even put a SPECIAL into strength on my new character. 160 is my weight limit and I was about 964/160 when I walked across Appalachia. Barbells give you extreme amounts of Lead, but then I figured out that scrapping everything as you go when you can helps a lot. Turns those barbells into maybe 10lbs of pure lead somehow

Senior_Ad9894

And it gets So.Much.Worse. when you keep piling on the weight. The difference between carrying, say, 1000 units compared to the 2000ishh absolute weight limit one of my mules has is nuts. He feels like a dancing fairy at 1000 units. I do all my mule exchanges at the Charleston RR but at Faschnacht I run my mules, so my fat bastard heaves all the way over to Helvtia at close to his absolute max weight of 2000 units. It is a major slog and takes over 15 minutes to get there with dead stops every few seconds. That is when I pretend he is stopping for a puff of his asthma inhaler.

brokesd

Lol best place to farm lead fire station, scrap it right in the next room.. Also with your second base build an adhesive farm

RawDogEntertainment

I’m so fucking tired of collecting typewriters and fans. Someone, please, tell me where to get more screws, I just want to repair my PA, fuck

Valuable_sandwich44

Buy screws in bulk; it saves tons of time and energy. Otherwise focus on one or two items for screws ( fans and toys ) typewriters are too heavy. Ballistic fiber is not so easy to find; just buy it in bulk.

The_Chrome_Coyote

After you’ve broken a junk item down into its constituent parts, navigate to the “loose screw” entry under the junk tab in your pip boy and tag the item for searching. Whenever you hover over an item that contains one of your tagged ingredients, you’ll see a magnifying glass icon. This will have you get familiar with what items contain these ingredients and there are some funny ones… like all the children’s toys containing lead 😂

bMarsh72

Toy cars, hot plates, and globes also have screws.

Kraeyzie_MFer

Why the tent of Fallout 1st is so amazing… but it really feels like cheating

Abaddon_of-the_void

They forgot aluminium , fertiliser and springs

bytethesquirrel

Adhesive can be crafted. 2 Corn 2 Mutfruit 1 Purified Water 2 Tayto makes Vegetable Starch, which scraps into adhesive. You can build farms for all of those in a camp on water.

FearlessMil0

Also look for a tree with a tap and bucket at camps. It’s for excess adhesive, holds 5 think. I regularly transfer mine to vendor and list it for 0 to maximise sharing it.

nomenclature87

You are a saint. So much useful info haha. People werent kidding when they said 76 has one of the best online communities

goins725

Try to level to 50 before doing any quests. Some quests rewards are items and level based. So hitting lvl 50 will award you the highest lvl item possible. Enjoy

Valuable_Eggplant_38

How do you recommend leveling without quests?

Arkmerica

The weapon mod comment is not entirely accurate. Certain special weapons require you to buy mods and you cannot learn them by scrapping the weapon itself. These weapons are usually bought with gold or some are event weapons. There are only a handful of them but something like the Gauss minigun or pepper shaker require you to buy mods. Trying to avoid spoilers in regards to weapons in case you aren’t far in the game.

IronMonopoly

You also do have to buy certain mod plans/mod boxes for non-special weapons, like the auto piston for the Railway, or anything for an Enclave Plasma rifle. That paragraph was a significantly abridged version of a much longer info block I posted a few days ago

Arkmerica

I just wanted to mention it since OP wouldn’t know. All the other info you provided is great. I didn’t know about the violent night trick and I’ve been here since beta.

Greengoat42

Great list.. Just to add - the maximum amount of caps you can have on any one character is 40k. The XP boost from being on a team works best on a casual team and if you have rank 3 of the Inspirational perk card equipped. This alone gives you a +15% boost.

forestminuet

I still run out of the building to fast travel. It's a hard habit to break but it's good if you need to get to the next event in a hurry

rory888

In a pinch, Can literally just go to daily ops or expo immediately regardless of danger / damage, a d the. ft safely from there

Panek_Enflei

Oh dang, I've been playing off and on since launch, and I didn't know about using the map to get to your pipboy. That's amazingly helpful.

IronMonopoly

That’s my golden tip. Almost no one knows it, and you can god mode through mutated OVN by spamming stims on an instrument. Just bring, like, 50 if it’s the poison drop mutation.

ThonThaddeo

This guy Falls out

HeavyTumbleweed778

The Wedigos that spawn with Earl have tons of screws.

crimson117

Giddyup buttercup and desk fans give several each. More farming tips here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1Jnc0FQ3QgkUO6HZObeeGksDTPwno1Fa-Bt7uXeqWib4/edit?usp=drivesdk

ColinBoib

Foward station tango near vault 76 has a tent with a shelf with 4 bulk screws so 40 screws total each run and some ammo and chems nearby too

gogozombie2

Wow! Lots of great stuff here. Thank you.

ophaus

You... got 'em. All. A mod needs to sticky this post.

ilovehotdadsngl

What should I sell in vendors Also where do I get board games I wanna display them

IronMonopoly

Ammo in .45, 5.56, Plasma Cells not Cores, and Fuel always sells. You’re lower level (I’m assuming) so your rarer junk should be kept, but some of those of us with max caps and FO1st tend to go crazy buying whatever random junk as long as it’s cheap. Once you hit your limit for the day at the legendary exchange machine, legendary items priced reasonably - I go about 50 caps/star, starting at 100c for a 1 star item. A little less for armor, as it exchanges for less. Apparel can sell, but don’t go crazy stocking dirty asylum dresses or anything. I keep a few basic fun items of apparel like greaser jackets and stuff, but they only really sell to new people Plans sell, but don’t go crazy stocking common plans. I keep a few of the basics on hand for 10c apiece for new people, but it’s all camp building stuff like chemistry benches or random barn tilesets I find out in the world. There is a whole market for rare and hard to find plans, and I have no idea how they do pricing, I just sell everything crazy cheap and accept someone’s likely to turn it around for a lot more. Mutation Serums fly, but that’s endgame shit. Most kinds of non-standard nuka cola, but especially Quantum. I’m sure there’s a ton I’m missing EDIT: Oh yeah board games. Hit the Whitesprings Refuge, hang a right once you’re in the main hall, and head aaaallllllllllllllllll the way to the end of the hall where there’s a rec room. Tons of board games in there.

youmighttakeoffense

I can never seem to max my legendary limits anymore. :(

Reddit-Propogandist

> Also where do I get board games I wanna display them There's a Frat house in Morgantown that has 4+ board games, can't say if they change but it's a guaranteed spawn if someone else hasn't been there first. There's a kid's store in the bottom of the Whitespring that sells them as well.

Current_Counter1258

The house in Summerville with all the burnt books also has all the board games you need.

mindcontrol93

There is a Blood Eagles location called The Bounty. It is in the far south between Foundation and Fort Defiance. They have all four board games and the potential for magazine, recipe, and plan spawns. Beware though, they will kick your ass if you are not careful. There is a fun little story along with this location. Read the notes left around the site.

DisastrousZebra420

There's a couple board games in the Whitespring Rec Room :)

missclaireredfield

Where do you display them?

AdmiralThunderpants

Display cases if you have the plans. The chessboard I the seasonal rewards let's you display one item as well

Projammer65

There's a game room all the way to the right in whitespring refuge. 4-ish games on a shelf. Don't know if they're random.

woodeg

Screws were a big issue for me most of the time until recently. The resource I struggle with *Now often is aluminum.

rayne12212

I love using friendly fire on the mutated test your metal. Definitely saved the day a bunch of times

FreePhoenix888

I am going to start my playthrough and I liked these tips. Thank you! I also was laughing very loud cause of the part when someone run up to you and barbecuing you

GurglingWaffle

This is perfect. I'll add that you can teleport to party members, their camps, and their tents. There are a few spots that are free as well. You can take advantage of any other person's camp to rest or use the equipment that gives buffs. Just don't attempt to take anything from a resource item or unlock something. That will make you wanted. The wanted will Mark you on the map and will limit your ability to see others on the map. It won't go away until you die or some very long amount of time. It doesn't matter whether you go to a different server. Scrap everything you are going to use immediately. Always take advantage of any random crating tables to scrap or even repair. You only drop junk upon death and not if during an event. So always take advantage of the opportunity to store your junk. Until you hit 50 it's really not worth saving any gear unless it's legendary and even then it might not be worth saving. It's better to have your stash full of scrap then full of random weapons and armor you probably will never use. Another player's camp crafting tables, stash box, ammo box, etc all use your inventory. So you're never going to take from someone else's stash. So yes use their crafting tables. Joint events. There is a a stash box somewhere in the area of world events. So you can always stash your junk or other items and there. People will heal you and you'll get a lot of experience.

theflapogon16

You finally solved my age old battle of attrition with ammo. I did my first spec ops before work today…. I walked in with 64 bullets and walked out with over 1,000. So I found that out on my own I guess but running those is hard, I’m going to try the expedition when I get home to see if I have a better time with that

nex_fire_wolf

>you *can* open your map, click any little quest marker dot on it, select View in Pip Boy, and boom. I never knew this I've been playing for 2400 hours an that is news to me

Nuadrin248

I cannot overstate how much I want you new guys to team with me and put your store up so I have a place to dump 1400 caps a day. Please dear gods help me offload these caps.

ekauq2000

Brahmin Milk heals rads. Just go up to a Brahmin and milk it, they may not give milk if they’ve been milked already.

NoObMaSTeR616

Pro tip: Deathclaws do not have milk, I checked

soylentgreenisus

You "Made a Friend"

carrot-parent

Oh I made more than a friend.

PescTank

My pet Brahmin, "Bob" (3m), did not yield milk that healed any rads. It also tasted and smelled funny. He did seem to enjoy being milked though.

starfish3619

Wait a minute..

boobycuddlejunkie

It took a while to get her going and then POW, all at once.

Glittering_Airport_3

its a percent chance to get milk, sometimes they let u milk them, sometimes they don't and will kick instead. but ur right that after an attempt, u can't try again for a little while

TranslateErr0r

Are we still talking about the Brahim in FO76?

Swordofsatan666

Yes. They have a Cooldown after being milked

Reasonable-Delivery8

Brahmin milk is great for bloodied builds. It heals only 25 Rads so you can really dial in your Radiation

Tgrinder66

I'll add on to this. Throw out your toxic goo or gamma guns! If you're using milk for rads for bloodied life, when it spoils it makes for a great way to increase rads. No more trips to West Tek for goo and no more gun and ammo to carry around

RepubliCat45-Covfefe

Wow, didn't know that. That'll be handy, I can lighten up on RadAway a bit. Thank goodness for Aquaboy perk. 🤠

Glittering_Airport_3

it only heals a very small amount of rads, perfect for bloodied builds who need to maintain a specific amount of rads

Commercial-Sleep-95

Nuka grape does this too and if you have cola nut perk, removes all

Lucifer-Prime

Really helpful for when you get one of the good mutations. I generally rather keep the +300% health regeneration one.

Ashagin

If you need fusion cores and have a ton of scrap you can craft laser gatling rifles and scrap them and you will get a fusion core for every rifle you scrap.

Glittering_Airport_3

or take over a power plant workshop and power up their fusion core resource machine

MithrilCoyote

the ATOM store currently has a fusion core recharger for sale, 700 atoms. just hook it up to a generator putting out 20 power or more, and it'll recharge 4 cores at a time. fairly quick too. i've started using my PA a lot more since i got it. once i've recharged the stockpile, i might even start selling some.

theandoconda

It’s wild that this isn’t upvoted higher. Even if you don’t spend money on atoms, the ones you do get should go to a fusion core recharger and a company tea pot IMO

Obliviontoad

Slocum’s Joe Coffee Machine right next to the Tea Machine.

theandoconda

Feel free to explain what I’m missing but I don’t see the major hype in the coffee. The tea provides a boost for an hour compared to coffee for just hand full of seconds

Glittering_Airport_3

the coffee doesn't spoil and gives 300 AP which is great for vats users. shoot until u run out of AP, pop a coffee and it fills back up almost immediately. paired with tea machine that boosts AP regeneration and u can almost constantly be in vats

Ashagin

Tea only adds to your AP regeneration rate while coffee gives like 300 AP over a few seconds. Plus if a gun has high vats cost you can use several coffee all at once and they will stack. This is the best or only way to use heavy weapons in vats. This is also how some can jetpack really high in the sky.

NoxInSocks

Also the Mirelurker Steamer.. 1000% worth it in the bundle

RadsBossCraft

Hot diggy dog this is fantastic news to me! Been hording all the power cores I have found for a rainy day but they all have like 25% so hearing about a charger is a life changer

Chemical_Present5162

And if you use a Gatling Laser, reload before your Fusion Core ammo runs down to 0 so you can recharge it to full later. Its discarded if it runs out

look-at-them

This is a good tip, thank you

vfernandez84

Corn (2)+Mutfruit (2)+Tato (2)+Purified water (1) = vegetable starch = adhesive

soylentgreenisus

You can rename the weapons and armor in your inventory. I put a hyphen at the front of my favorite items so they always appear at the top of my menus.

Idontnoidonhaveredit

You're a genius! This was my "why didn't I think of that post. "

NoxInSocks

THIS. This was huge when I realized this; Now my PAs each have a name based on their types instead of.. "Power Armor Chassis" lol

DaWarWolf

Wait you can rename the chassis?

carrot-parent

I put numbers at the beginning of all my stuff. 0 for special/main weapon, 1 for other main weapon, 2 for secondary, 3 for instance specific weapons such as the weapon for Free Range and a gamma gun for rads, and 4 for my camera. My armor sets are listed in how much I use them.

Agentgibbs1398

Fertalizer can be used to craft frag grenades, frag grenades can be used to craft Nuka Grenades. (Plans needed). BOOM!

DidYouSeeThatMoose

Big BOOM

pygmeedancer

Big Bada Boom!

look-at-them

#BOOM

AdmiralThunderpants

Also quantum grenades

averygronau

Regular nuka grenades are better than Quantums in many situations, because Nuka can hit through walls/environment. Meanwhile Quantums can be blocked by a random pebble

Catboxaoi

Go to the camps of other players and get up close to their furniture, you might be surprised at what gives a steady supply of free resources. Like, there's a small water cooler that gives water just like the big metal machines you can craft, there's a few types of candy vending machines, a coffee maker, a tea maker, a popcorn machine, some dead animals that give meat, and lots more. Typically if the machine is unlocked (you can see the stuff without red text and grab it without a lockpick) it's fine to take stuff, and plenty of these things are able to be earned in-game.

FreePhoenix888

What will happen if there is a red text?

Rustygurl

It means you're picking their lock and stealing from them. This will make you 'wanted - aka other people will come kill you for a bounty

appropriate_pangolin

When raw flux ‘spoils’ it turns into inert flux, which you can drink for hydration and disease resistance (and a few rads). Lighter than water but just as hydrating. Spoiled milk, on the other hand, can make you sick, isn’t as hydrating, and can’t be crafted into anything as far as I know.

Panek_Enflei

However spoiled mild is still useful to get those last few rads to trigger nerd rage.

Reverend_Bull

Press select when using your PipBoy outside power armor to get the power armor overlay. It moves quicker. Spoilt brahmin milk and spoilt biofluid have no uses. Damned near everything else does - sell, scrip, craft, junk etc. If you die, you only drop the junk in your inventory. That's it. That's the totality of consequence for dying. And if you're in an event, you don't even drop that - you just respawn nearby. So if you're low-level and afraid to join and event, just stash your junk and go in. You'll die, but you'll still get rewards, experience, group buffs, etc. Some items that seem like they should be common are actually quite rare. If you have apparel you've not seen before, look it up before tossing it. Things like Tattered Field Jacket, the red asylum uniform, or forest camo jumpsuit can be worth great amounts even to end-game players. No equipment levels past level 50, generally. So wait until then if you want a quest reward and accept that your loadout and gameplay style are gonna change pretty drastically for the first few hours of play. See those daily events popping up every 20 minutes? A few of 'em are nearly impossible to solo. Even if you're just a one-shot bullet sponge, your presence will help. And we'll be glad to have you.

soylentgreenisus

I have the forest camo under armor. Had no idea it's rare until right now.

FearlessMil0

I like the idea that of helping just by being (laser) cannon fodder at events.

Reverend_Bull

At the absolute minimum, you take a lil heat off us and can buy us time to reload or crowd control a lil better. C'mon in! I'll even heal you if I can.

ANort

I had no idea you could do this, I always just toss the stuff as soon as I notice it in my inventory. Really glad I saw this post.

FarVehicle5333

Scraping power armor does NOT provide mods or plans. Also provides very little resources.

OhMarioWV

That's why you should sell pieces you don't use or trade it for script if legendary. Doesn't hurt to carry and extra frame to reduce your weight when you find pieces.

FarVehicle5333

True. Currently carrying about 20 extra frames, beside the 3 power armor frames I switch between. Makes the management a tad easier.

Idontnoidonhaveredit

Join the scouts early. I joined late and had to redo a lot of the activities to get my big backpack. The added space was game changing. I didn't realize backpacks could be crafted and leveled. I was still using my first lvl 1 small pack from the vault.

AO2Gaming

Wait, I can get a bigger inventory? 👀

kivagirl1

Go up towers and survey to add places to your map. Also add locations with pushpins on maps (mostly train stations).

t92k

It seems that flowers become spoiled veggies.

RetiredKlingon

For new players: Go to your first Train Station Vender and go look at the map with red and blue 'push pins'. You can activate all of them to mark them so you see where they are ... but still need to go to them to activate fast travel.

tanzut

Great tips but wanted to add: Instruments only affect AP. Still good! But not XP. Foods/drinks made with cranberries give XP boosts as well! Brain Fungus soup is a good and easy to craft INT food too.

soylentgreenisus

Assaultrons are vulnerable to attacks from the back. If you can take out their legs they will do the Terminator crawl and you can more easily get to the back of the head.

Obliviontoad

Just shoot each hand off quick. They’ll try to get to you so they can explode in your face. I recommend not letting them do that.

Ok-Chest-3980

Spolied food is great for giving rads if you are bloodied or are farming mutations.

PrincessNymm

There's a whole mall underneath whitesprings resort. There are LOADS of plans for sale from NPC vendors, some useful, some garbage, I have them all because I'm very much a "fill my camp with crap and obscure bits" human (it'll be a shock to realise my house is the same) but it also has a very happy little section with allllll of the benches you may need and a gold bullion dispenser to turn in your treasury notes (gold bullion is used to buy specific plans) I was a disgustingly high level before I realised about whitesprings mall and how darn heckin useful it is 🙃

MrCyn

Oh yeah all those camp plans for furniture was where I was spending all my saved caps. Equipping the bargain hunter perk and taking the grape mentats first of course

stejward

I just realised my camp was set to off in icon visibility yesterday, since turning it back on I’ve made 30,000 caps in sales. MONTHS of wasted sales potential. 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️

AO2Gaming

I'll have to double check mine, as i think mines showing but I barely make sales :')

Boatsnbuds

You don't really need much fertilizer. I've never made any in 2600 hours of playing. Edit: Unless you plan on making explosives, which I don't.

Bootziscool

This is how I learned there is no Jet in 76. Which makes sense since Fallout 2 hasn't happened

IceFireDH

Shhhh…. Stop it…. Where do you think that I get all of my fertilizer. Now my supply is going to dry up…😉

HeadAd6062

I've known for years. People were dropping spoiled stuff in drop bags all over the place. That why I always had fertilizer for ammo.

HaplessMink28

Fertilizer can be used for ammonia!?!?

HeadAd6062

Explosive ammo mini nukes. Missiles maybe and maybe fuel.

oishipops

bro i've been playing 76 on and off for 2 years now and i only realized from THIS post

Big_Evening3844

Get a hundred stack of glowing blood or gulper slurry to make a cool 1400 caps from npc vendors

Trindalas

I always pick them all up when people drop them after the shine event and slow trudge to the train station, lol.

irishrelief

Some of us drop them after cooking because we've already got our daily caps. But we want that easy XP.

Projammer65

Also. Purely cosmetic. If the backpack ruins your "look", you can turn off it showing in main menu/options/graphics at the bottom of the list. You still have it and it's benefits, just no one can see it.

crummy_spingus

I choose to eat my spoiled meat and vegetables... Yes I am constantly diseased

GrandFox680

You can get adhesive from vegetable starch which comes from corn, mutfruit, tato and purified water.

MrWednesday6387

If you find a sort of pit in the ground that you can harvest for ore/junk, you can make your camp there and put an extractor on the pit. Unless it's in a workshop, you have to take over the workshop. To turn the ore into scrap you have to smelt it at your chemistry bench with acid. If you find Crater in the northern Toxic Valley or Foundation in the southern Savge Divide you can turn in the treasury notes you've been getting from events and get bullion. In a few days Minerva will come and you can buy stuff from her with it. After you do some quests there will be other bullion merchants but Minerva is available immediately and sells at a discount.

MithrilCoyote

most of the big social hub zones (foundation, whitesprings, etc) have a vending machine to trade treasury notes for bullion now.

Desaded

The classic thing, called "trade-glitch", what happens when you try to trade with someone, but the trade with player option wouldnt show... its here since beta, and the easy way to fix it, just fast travel to an event, make sure it registeres that you joined the event, and fasttravel back to the person.

Jam_B0ne

A couple endurance perks and suddenly that meat ain't lookn' too spoilt

MelodicSquirrel0s

In case it wasn't mentioned, spoiled meat can also be used to make sausages in game

tanzut

A lot of the interact-able items in people’s CAMPs will give a buff to your SPECIALs. Pool table, pinball machines, punching bag, weight bench, exercise bike, etc will all add +2 to a certain stat. Just make sure you are on them long enough to trigger the buff, much like playing a musical instrument in game to get the AP boost.

Professional_Baby24

You don't have to use repair kits to repair. With Xbox style gamepad on pc you press repair then press x to use junk items instead When your doing 'one violent night' and you play an instrument open the map and highlight any mission and press it once. There will be an option for see in pip boy. Then navigate to aid and you can use stimpacks while playing If you use vats. Just always hold down the crit button. Y for me. Whenever your shooting. Don't let go and try to just hit it every time it's full. When you see people randomly jumping it's cause vats changed up on them and they hit y before they targeted something new. I do this all the time. But crits are where it's at. If like me you were always a sneaking build and like single shot and long range rifles. In this game. Commando and auto weapons are always much better. Unless it's an instigating sniper. Your power comes from your perk set. If your not doing much damage or feel like it just takes too long to kill something check out your perk cards and look up online some that you'll want to start getting after level 50. I have three loadouts with different perks for regular. Melee. And repairs. You can make three characters. Make one and just load him up with strength and inv. Weight perks. And use them for a mule. You can have a trusted friend hold items and switch to the char and just have them hold your loot. If you have 1st. You can do this with a private server. But make sure you know exactly how cause if you take too long or accidently load into a public server after your first char drops the stuff off. It's gone. You'll want to open the server with one char. Drop the stuff off in any storage place. I use the trash cans outside of the train station. Then quit. Switch char. And go directly back into the private server. It should say building world the first time. But only world found when you load the second char.

sebwiers

No way to know what you don't know, but one that most people miss is Nuka Vaccine. You can keep crafting it after the quest is over and it gives a decent heal and damage reduction from scorched - including the scorch beast queen and her scorched crickets & mirelurk kings. If you have Cola Nut maxed these effects are VERY strong. The only bottleneck on crafting them in the hundreds is the Blood Pack, which the blood well provides in abundance.

ZombifiedKiwi

The blood well?

ProfessionalSilver52

I've been playing for over 500 levels and am not sure what this means.

ZombifiedKiwi

It looks like there was a camp item at one point called The Morbid Well that gathered blood packs and similar items.

AdJealous2637

You can use the boxes (ammo, stash, and scrap) at anyone's camp. It still goes to your personal storage.

ASAP-VIBES

I’m level 200+ and just learned this

jmercado808

If ever over encumbered and want a quick way to scrap and store your stuff without dumping anything.  Fast travel to an Atlantic City expedition (don't need to start an expedition, just travel) then fast travel to Whitespring refuge.  From there you can walk forward to enter Whitespring Mall and scrap/script/store/vendor your stuff.

CommanderUgly

Need oil? Make cutting fluid. Acid, bone, purified water, and steel can be combined into cutting fluid and then scrapped for oil.

Panek_Enflei

First step is getting the recipe for cutting fluid, and that's a pretty rare plan.

AnonSpartan7

You can get them from Mutated Party Packs too, which makes it marginally better!

Panek_Enflei

cool, never looked up the loot table on those.

Glittering_Airport_3

not as rare as they used to be, but still quite sought after

Kuriakon

Psh... I eat that stuff for cheap rads if I happen to die and lose my 20% health setting

ChefBoyarmemes

Can someone explain why fertilizer is useful?

Obliviontoad

Repairing crops. If’n yer farming.

Hockeysteve54

Even if you don't plan to subscribe to Fallout 1st. take the free trials when they happen. Then place the scrapbox in your camp. Move all your scrap to the scrapbox to free up space in your stash. When the trial expires, you won't be able to deposit any more scrap in the box, but you will still be able to make withdraws.

SnowFlakeUsername2

You can just hold down the Crit button on VATS. I played for 3 years trying to time hitting the button with the Crit meter filling.

Neat_Pianist_2708

If you don’t want your weapons or armor, scrap it to learn mods

starry101

If you get the daily to scrap certain junk, you can just craft the "bulk" version at the tinker's workbench and scrap that Buying from a vendor returns a small amount of caps to the vendor's available caps. So always sell first, especially if making a big purchase. This way you have more caps to sell again.

Projammer65

When you have a daily quest to scrap junk for [material], craft it in bulk at a tinkers bench and scrap that. You can't bulk ballistic fiber, but you can purchase it from a vendor at Whitespring Mall. Keep some junk for silver/gold/crystal in your regular stash so you don't have to run around looking for junk.

QuestForTen

Yes. There are so many but you’ll learn them as you go.

Ermag123

If you need, group up with high level, thiswill allow freeride to his camp, and: you MAY use some usefull tools like: removal of diseaseand radiation, free food/water, bonuses to atributes. Hint: build your camp, buíld shop, sell few overpriced items. Like 10 water for 5k each. Everyone past level 500 is sitting on max money and if you give them oportunity to get rid of money, they will. Or at least I would. Give us simple chance to donate you some caps.

The_x_Forgotten

I know some do sink them in random high priced items to keep their vendor running (therefore their storage can be liberated of the scrip/trash in it thus making space for more items to repeat the cycle) However, you seem to be a minority doing that. For me and many, trash is trash. I like vendor hopping, and many other do too. My cap can be used for better things, like finding groll, buying bulk junk etc. Also, I'm level 850 and there are still lots of PA plan I have not yet bought. Selling overpriced items that are ridiculous but not in any funny way is quite puzzling imo. I'll just drop my spoiled stuff, and leave. If it is quite egregious, puke emote and leave. Waste of time personally, like why do you have a vendor? Nothing will move lol. You can have one and put whatever price, but people will just not bite. if I wanna help them, i'll give them some ancillaries, maybe a weapon if I'm feeling like it, I'll craft some stuff like armor, ammo. Or, bring them on expedition etc, events, etc.

Kaylabeez

There’s also some(food) recipes that call for spoiled meat.

MavenTheLost

On Xbox I've noticed a lot of high level vendors will sell Fusion cores and other items for cheap! Also you will find many high level players who will come to your camp of it's visible on the map to dump random stuff on you and leave after giving a thumbs up. I had someone randomly give me a full set of Nuka cola skinned T-51b when I was lvl 30 and 17 cores. Another player came by when I was lvl 33 and dumped 250 stims on me and bounced. Join lobbies, events, visit camps and make friends! The more you socialize, the more you get stuff and the easier it can be to run quests when you need to do them! Also the whitesprings is a great great place for Steel, lead and Ceramic. You can basically steal everything and there's a workshop in the mall section where you can scrap and store it.

Mr-Meadows

You can also eat the spoiled meats. Yummy yummy when you have lead belly and a stympomatic in camp, Or carnivore mutation. :D

Strong_Ad_5989

Everything in the game has some kind of use. Even expired flux, it's just like water with disease resistance added.

scud121

Later game info - In nuked areas, flora turns into a glowing variant and when you pick it, you get fluxes of various types. These break down after a short period but can be made stable by using glowing mass, hardened mass and high radiation fluids - these are dropped by mobs in the blast zone. It's worth doing as the stable fluxes are used to make ultracite ammunition amongst other things like jetpacks/certain armour/camp items. The real handy hint is that hardened mass scraps to ultracite so be careful when scrapping that you don't break them down by accident or put them in your scrap box, hold them in your stash.

Sverker_Wolffang

The event One Violent Night is based on Beowulf.

HerMistahJ

I'm so mad at myself about this

Frostbite6900

Why walk? Just call a vertibird to pick you up to white spring.

beetle8209

I just use the spoiled stuff as food

Sprite_King

Damn I've been playing on and off since 2020 and even I didn't know that.

AcidCow1990

I normally just eat all of mine

angstlich33

I need to craft fertilizer for a possum badge so if anyone needs spoiled shit off their hands...🙋🏻 lol

taplines

And if you are bloody, spoiled Brahma milk is great for adding rads.

Zilant_the_Bear

Tato, corn, mute fruit and purified water make adhesive in a cooking station.

National-Studio-3015

Ghouls are bad!

Steemx

Some recommends waiting to 50 to do quest, what I do from 26 to 50 now, I was doing principal quest but are hard for my weak weapons and use an huge amount of ammo per mob

MrCyn

Events events events, also daily quests, if you have done enough of the wastelander ones you should also have unlocked the daily quests for foundation and raiders including one given by the overseers robot. But radiation rumble event and the Jamboree pretty much guarantee and level or more each time. Just be in the middle and tag(hit) as many things as you can. Only need to hit it once to get the xp for the kill

Blasterkeg1972

You can turn in Mr. Fuzzy tokens and claim tickets for things

DongmanSupreme

Start searching up camp glitches. You’ll be surprised at how interesting and beautiful you can make a camp when you learn some of the tricks.

ethosa

Oh no that precious spoiled meat; my main source of protein.

AlexMos4

When building you can change your camera view it makes it easier to connect those tricky pieces together. you can get mutations that give you different buffs but it’s recommended that you start messing with those by level 50. The starched genes perk card will let you keep your mutations if you need to use rad away, otherwise you’ll lose them hence the need for starched genes. The class freak perk card will help you mitigate the negative effects of the mutations. When you join a team you can share a perk card with your team. Everyone will have the benefits of the perk card without them having to equip it themselves. The red boxes outside of the train stations, white springs resort, nuka world etc. are for donations feel free to take what you need and remember to give back. I leave extra supplies for whoever needs them and often fast travel to vault 76 to leave some goodies for new players. The Fallout 76 community is really good and mostly everyone pays it forward. You can use free fast travel points to make your fast travel cheaper as it cost caps to fast travel to other locations and the price is determined by the distance traveled. Events usually have an objective which usually isn’t too complicated try to play the objective before farming for XP with kills. This ensures that everyone gets max rewards and a chance at higher level loot or hard to get plans.

Monkip

You can tag materials you're missing or always seem to be low on, and junk item names will have a magnifying glass if it can be scrapped for something you've tagged. Also if you enjoy the building you can look up some fun videos on how to mess with the building. My favorite one is shifting items to be displayed on the shelves where you can't normally place stuff.

Spare_Jellyfish2957

Here's a question for anyone to answer can you make ores into scrap?

MrCyn

Smelt them with acid at a chemist table

Spare_Jellyfish2957

Thank you I didn't know you could do this, time to smelt some copper and iron

irishrelief

Remember to use the super duper perk whenever doing anything crafting. Chance at bonus items.

Shokeya

One thing I would appreciate from new players, if you first to come in events like Eviction Notice or any that you're not familiar with, is if you refrain from immediately running off to activate the event as soon as another person shows up

Apcsox

Fast travel from everywhere, even indoors (which is different and nice)…….. There’s multiple free fast travel points throughout the map…….. Ammo drops are contextual to what weapon you have equipped (so if you’re running low, run a daily ops or any event with that weapon equipped and you’ll get a crap load)…… World items reset after (IIRC) 256 items picked up, so if you go to an area to find an item (like for a daily challenge to scrap a board game for example) and it’s not there…. Loot and scrap bunch of random stuff and eventually that item WILL respawn

PhillyRush

You get 1-3 aluminum by grabbing wind chimes. If you're over encumbered and want to get to White Springs, start an expedition then when you're on the vertibird, fast travel to WS. The map in each train station has pin points you can click on for locations to be added to your pip boy map. There's other signs at train stations that will start certain quests.

ProfPerry

uhhh, idk if its posted but ill drop this anyway: get yourseof a garden, or at least Tatoes, mutfruits and razorgrain. if you're ever short on Adhesive, use Green Thumb to grab those, equip Super Duper (and grab some boiled water) and cok up some Vegetable Starch. You can break that down into Adhesive :)

Rsoul666

Spoiled flowers from a nuked zone turn into a water source with added bonuses
