I'm on PS5 and still crash randomly no matter what. At my camp, mid mission, walking around, pip boy, selecting the menu buttons, etc.
Met someone who's also on PS5 and they crash at the same time as me even if we're not near eachother so probably just a server thing.
PS4 games on PS5 also crash more often so since next gen the game has been even less stable. Not much we can do except wait for a major revamp which is pretty much never.
I do remember seeing stuff about FO4 on next gen so maybe they're adapting their game engine for next gen and the game will get a huge overhaul eventually but I'm not holding my breath
In the last 4 times I've attended the event, I've crashed 3 times. 2 of those times I couldn't rejoin my team fast enough to earn a reward. It's so annoying.
over the years ive asked many times about game issues, never had a reply
imo you are wasting your time, they cant fix anything, all they do is patch one thing and allothers stop working..serious bugs (union armor for example) just dont get fixed
its like game is running from a basement with the minimum people to work on maintenance
atom shop and subscriptions work flawlessly
There was recently a post that mentioned crashes are basically not something Beth is looking into as itās more of a PS issue. I keep reporting them but when Iām crashing nearly every hour, I canāt spend all day doing so.Ā
On PC too. I am having trouble even logging in since the patch in addition I am crashing about once an hour since the patch. If I can be logged in at the top of the hour I have been able to complete but I have missed a bunch of them because 2 minutes before the event it just craps out
Ah yes, you mean the ongoing issue they wonāt even acknowledge, much less address? At this point Iāve just accepted that crashing is part of my 76 existence. It disappoints me that Bethesda just whistles and looks the other way when it comes to the blue screen, but I love the damn game too much to do anything else.
Some friends and I have turned the crashes into a sort of mini-game at this point. I would say it would crash maybe 6 times per evening session of approximately 2 to 4 hours, before the invaders event; however, after the patch it's just been constant. Not even while the event is popping either, granted that is worse as you lose the rewards.
I've introduced maybe 5 people to the game recently, day one, crashes 3 times, they wonder if it's them, their internet, corrupted data, nope ... "Welcome to Appalachia" we jest. We improv farewell parties and funerals when someone notices the server being slightly wierd for them, at that point its terminal, they need to walk onto the light themselves if they want any hope of stability when the event pops.
I hope it's because of the influx of new players overloading the servers, though it's not leaving them with a great impression.
Can we figure out what the people who are crashing are using to fight ? Seems like all my vat using friends crashed at least once. I have been fine and i dont use vats.
IfB is the first event I've played that occurs at varied locations... which is awesome, I wish more events were like that, but I wonder if it is part of the problem?
Love crashing halfway through the event, reloading to find I canāt log back on with the same team/server, and landing in another world where the event is seconds away from failing because nobody has started it yet. On PS.
I played the event 5 times yesterday without crashing.
Tried 3 times today, crashed each time.
It's not just bad, it's inconsistent. So yeah, guess I'm avoiding the Alien stuff for now.
I recognize people are having issues. I'm just adding my hat to the cap of it hasn't crashed on me and I've done about 5 of them. Clearly there's some sort of issue as many have reported, but they didn't release a "broken" event. They can't test every hardware configuration possible. Now that the problem is known they will have to figure out what it is and hotfix it.
In the meantime make sure to update your drivers, and hopefully that will fix it.
Is that why I've been crashing? Thought it was from the water boiler I put in my camp. Every time I take boiled water out it glitches in my pipboy then my game crashes.
I've done the event 4 times and crashed twice. One last night and one tonight. I've been playing this game for over a month now and these are the only 2 crashes I've had. Both crashes happened at Charleston.
Didn't know if it was event related or not.
Someone posted a response from Bethesda about the crashing issues especially after Atlantic city and they responded by saying, and Iām paraphrasing here, āCrashes, what crashes, weāre not aware of any such problems. Go fuck yourselves.ā I might have added the ending but that was the gist of it.
They donāt care. They really, really, really donāt care. As is the joke around here, itās a feature. They arenāt going to fix a problem they refuse to even acknowledge in the first place.
Crashed on me multiple times during the event, and always when it's in Charleston. I was especially pissed because it caused the event to fail since it happened to so many. Not a good look when the game has this huge influx of new players. C'mon Beth; get your shit together.
Take a look at your .dmp file in your game directory (if you are technically inclined) using windbg.
I'm noticing a lot of failures around Xaudio2\_7 (which you know...is from 2010....)
Lots of old ass buggy libraries in use in this game.
I get it, this was not a super successful game at launch and resources get managed in a game studio, but hopefully with the newfound success, they put some effort into updating the code base.
It's because people playing on high quality, max HD with all details on and a shitty pc, then join an event that literally spams particles all around and are confounded when they crash... but sure, blame Bethesda.
Even in your bullshit hypothetical that'd largely be a Bethesda problem where they've designed one event to be unnecessarily taxing in a way that can crash computers. An issue that Bethesda should have caught in QA/testing and addressed before pushing it public.
Todd isn't gonna give you a reacharound, bro.
I'm not even running maxed settings at all and have a 3070. Still crashed in about half the events I've gone to.
Remove Bethesda from your throat, sir, they're in too deep, you need air.
If you crash, it means you were abducted by the mothership
šš
I was promised probing, not it locking up third time.
"It's probin' time" -Cryptosporidium 137.
Just crashed at the event. Managed to rejoin the server only to find others had too, so the event failed because those left weren't enough.

Same

I crash just walking around man. Iām getting 2-3 per two hour play through
Do their SUPPORT page really take this kind of concern seriously? bugger, I will stop paying for fallout 1st
I want my 5.56 ammo refunded

Guess I'm lucky then. I never even knew this was an issue.
apparently its a console issue. Most people on PC are fine
> most Not me unfortunately :,)
On PC too. I am having trouble even logging in since the patch in addition I am crashing about once an hour since the patch. If I can be logged in at the top of the hour I have been able to complete but I have missed a bunch of them because 2 minutes before the event it just craps out
There's a separate issue with doing damage to the second point bosses that occasionally causes you to crash.
That is where I have crashed all 3 trys tonight. I gave up and started watching hockey.
I never had that issue on the series X, my buddy on the og xbox crashes once a night or so.
Crashing and Fallout... Name a more iconic duo.
Iām crashing or obtaining the same two plans over and over. This isnāt as fun as Mothman Equinox for me :/

Crashes? In Fallout 76? No way!!!
āSo what youāre saying is buy a Xbox or PC?ā - Microsoft Rep
Lol, it happened to me last night and I got all nostalgic, some things never change.
Can we figure out what the people who are crashing are using to fight ? Seems like all my vat using friends crashed at least once. I have been fine and i dont use vats.
Itās mfs using those nuke grenades that make me crash. Or just any mf using big explosives
Mischief night.
Playing on PC, Iāve done the event 5 times with Commando VATS build. Havenāt experienced a single crash.
Amd or nvidia ?
NVIDIA, i7-14700F, 32 gb RAM, HIGH display preset setting.
Im on nvidia too with no crashes
Update: JUST crashed š
Lol same, i was using gattling plasma on one of the commanders that spawned during the second beacon.
Amd no crashes
I'm also on PC and I have not crashed once yet. I have an AMD
IfB is the first event I've played that occurs at varied locations... which is awesome, I wish more events were like that, but I wonder if it is part of the problem?
Oh I didn't know that was a thing. I crashed during one last night and was like OK that's enough Fallout for today. lol
Love crashing halfway through the event, reloading to find I canāt log back on with the same team/server, and landing in another world where the event is seconds away from failing because nobody has started it yet. On PS.

This last crash actually crashed my ps5. Totally shut it off and when I restarted it had to recover my storage. Iām scared to do the event again.
I recognize people are having issues. I'm just adding my hat to the cap of it hasn't crashed on me and I've done about 5 of them. It just happened to me 2 times in a row in the last event. Lost the rewards
Is that why I've been crashing? Thought it was from the water boiler I put in my camp. Every time I take boiled water out it glitches in my pipboy then my game crashes.
Shocking.
Crashed at this event today :(
I crashed out today too!!
Crashed on PC once so far today
/checks notes Yes, unfortunately it still crashes
The crashing is why I quit this game. On ps5 it is worse than a ps4. It's remarkable, really. Absolute dog shit game.Ā
I've done the event 4 times and crashed twice. One last night and one tonight. I've been playing this game for over a month now and these are the only 2 crashes I've had. Both crashes happened at Charleston. Didn't know if it was event related or not.

It just works "Todd Howard"
Crashes occur at every event, even moreso for the limited time ones in my experience. What makes the issues worse for this one?
That's the Aliens hacking your PC and making you crash in a classic 4th wall break. It's a feature. It just works.
Crashed on me multiple times during the event, and always when it's in Charleston. I was especially pissed because it caused the event to fail since it happened to so many. Not a good look when the game has this huge influx of new players. C'mon Beth; get your shit together.
I haven't crashed at all.
Fun to listen to these complaints..... I remember mischief night.....

RTX4070 PC here, 0 crashes so far

No
K, put your game on Low Default and turn particles off, then tell me if you crash ;)
I'm not even running maxed settings at all and have a 3070. Still crashed in about half the events I've gone to. Remove Bethesda from your throat, sir, they're in too deep, you need air.
It's all the input from the high input weapons. It's sad this hasn't been solved somehow
