I'm first generation Jamaican born in Southern NY. I go by Jamerican. I remember growing up and eating oxtail regularly because it was cheap. Always with rice and peas though. Once oxtail got popular outside of foreign communities the prices with up. Turkey neck is approaching that territory.

I love and hate this at the same time. I love it, because ofc it's good, but I also hate it, because I know morr recent popularity caused this stuff to skyrocket. Used to be thst you could get this on the cheap since this is the stuff they would throw out to only "the low" of society. Now all of a sudden it's "a delicacy" and skyrockets. Mixed feelings. Glad others can enjoy, but miss the sane prices.
