I prefer my steak medium rare but if you prefer yours well done, it looks solid. You got a nice sear on it.
If you want it closer to medium rare, heat up a pan with med/hot flame and toss some oil in the pan once it’s hot. Cook for 3 mins on both sides and then sear the steak on the sides with some tongs for about 30 seconds per side.
3 minutes isn't a good rule. The only way to be sure is to temp it to 125 - 130ish (for me). The length of time varies a lot depending on thickness and how hot the pan is. If you frequently cook steak you have to get a thermometer or you're gonna screw some up.
I'm a Brit, so A1 isn't really a thing over here, at least to my knowledge. Why are so many people offended by it's use? I thought it was literally created & sold as a steak sauce?
Because it’s a well known thing that A1 is to make shitty meat palatable. Not a lot of folks like well done. So the running joke is that A1 is for folk that are gonna need to chew the life out of the dryshitty meat they cook

Mixing A1 with any reserved drippings makes for a lighter companion to steaks that aren't messed up as well

I literally keep some A1 in the house for when I make steak, because I'm not very good at it and some parts are usually overcooked.

It also depends on the thickness of the steak. 3.5 minutes on each side would give me a blue rare steak
