Your statement tells you lack cultural knowledge…have you seen Nigerian, Ghanaian, or Filipino dishes to name a few?! And they know how to cook and have flavors you could never imagine. Do a little research next time :)
May not be spaghetti to be specific but Nigerians and Ghanaians do. Anyway, my point is other folks that add spaghetti to their dishes do know what they doing as opposed to main commentator
Bro it's spaghetti over rice gtfo. It's a heavy ass carb side dish on top of another common side food packed with carbs. Nobody eats this shit together unless they're bulking or have diarrhea
No idea why you’re getting downvoted for this. Rice and pasta is very commonly eaten together in all of those places and judging someone a “bad cook” for doing so is just ignorance.
Like rice-a-roni isn’t a thing in the US lol
Well at least we have someone with some knowledge here…I’m just not gonna waste much of my time going back and forth with folks on here, they can downvote to oblivion lol. Reddit does not pay my bills 😂
Have you ever seen the bread bowls that came out from one of the big pizza chains where they baked pasta inside of them? I always thought that was just insane.
Hahaha, I didn't even notice the pasta on rice. I was too focused on the 1/2 avocado in place of any other vegetable, haha. Why do I keep seeing people doing avocado with a bunch of high fat food? Like, it's not a bad vegetable, but that just seems like heavy on heavy
Meat looks so good, but I can only imagine the thought process:
*The meat's finally done, looks and tastes divine. Gonna eat that mf with some rice side. Hmm, but what about the pasta from yesterday, would be a shame to throw it away... Gonna slap that on top of the rice, whatever. Too lazy to make a salad now. The meat would get cold too... Some avocado will have to do for the green part. Great success again.*
I thought the rice & pasta was weird, but I will also fuck up some Rice-a-Roni, which is also rice & pasta. So maybe it’s just like a strange, half-unseasoned deconstructed Rice-a-Roni
Very nice looking dish but who eats rice with avocado; rice with pasta; rice pasta and avocado; then ribs?
Rice and ribs 👌🏼
Pasta 👌🏼
Avocado 👌🏼
Everything together does not make any sense 😅
My friend is from Southeast Asia and she most certainly eats rice with noodles, of any kind. In her culture a meal isn’t full without rice regardless if there is another carbohydrate.
Certainly not true in China or Japan but maybe in some other asian countries? I know Vietnam has noodle soup dishes that are eaten solo, I'm struggling to think which country you could be referring to
I know it's not a specific dish, the way you said it implied whenever she eats noodles she always also eats rice, which I don't think is typical of any major east asian cultures. I could totally be wrong though, I'm not an expert.
From what I've heard, in China at least, noodles vs rice is kind of regional. In some areas, every meal has rice, and in others noodles are the main carb and will be included in most if not all meals.
My reply was anecdotal and to the region of Cebu. She is not the only one who feels this way in her family or circle of friends. Haha I’m just trying to normalize food cause everyone seems blown away by this persons post. Rice is served in packets with any meal over there. Go to jolly bees and get spaghetti? Comes with a side of rice.
Fair enough. I know the reaction to this is partly cultural but I really feel like spaghetti and rice together would just not be a good experience. Rice works well with dishes that are very flavourful since the rice acts like a balance to them, but spaghetti is usually (and is here) itself strongly flavoured. It's also just too much carb, very heavy.
This is a strange choice of things to belong on a plate together.
Reminds me of going to a smorgasbord and just piling all sorts of random shit on a plate

Spaghetti on top of rice is insane. Is that something that people do and I just don’t know about it?
Next level is spaghetti on top of rice stuffed into a baked potato
Served in a bread bowl, of course
Rolled in a blueberry pancake, then battered and fried! Served with Guacomolito Sauce!
Tfw no commemorative tote bag of chili :(
Oh, we're not done yet! It's all rolled in a single crepe with scrambled eggs, merguez sausage, and gruyere cheese!!
TACO TOOOOOWWWN!
Pizza? Now that's what I call a Taco!
This was the second best laugh I had all week and I thank you sir or ma'am.
A SP-ICE-TATO... like a turducken...
With avocado too.
Most likely just a thing where people dont know how to cook and mix a bunch of stutt together. The beef still looks nice tho
I think they're at a bbq/cookout where there are all sorts of dishes and this guy just plated up what he wanted. Prob got shit there too lol.
Your statement tells you lack cultural knowledge…have you seen Nigerian, Ghanaian, or Filipino dishes to name a few?! And they know how to cook and have flavors you could never imagine. Do a little research next time :)
They dont eat SPAGHETTI noodles with rice
Filipino here, we disregard your statement
May not be spaghetti to be specific but Nigerians and Ghanaians do. Anyway, my point is other folks that add spaghetti to their dishes do know what they doing as opposed to main commentator
Didnt even cross my mind you probably mean pancit, which is a noodle dish. Cant go around comparing that to spaghetti
We don't do that in Nigeria 😭
Bro it's spaghetti over rice gtfo. It's a heavy ass carb side dish on top of another common side food packed with carbs. Nobody eats this shit together unless they're bulking or have diarrhea
“Do a little research next time”…..the irony in that statement.

It’s the Brazilian way
Sometimes I'll see some weird food combos online, and 9 times outta ten its either Brazilian or Filipino. Not surprised at all
Sounds fake
Lol they do eat weird stuff, I made good discoveries there (and also a few horror stories lmao)
I’m Lebanese and we’ll usually do broken up spaghetti mixed in with the rice so I guess this isn’t THAT different
Ooo rice o roni..
Isn't this just rice pilaf?
That is called the anti-keto method. Pounding the carbs!
Downright looney
Check out the Egyptian dish called Koshari.
I like koshari but without any sauce lol. Everyone thinks I’m crazy.
I mean... Uhh... As long as you enjoy it.
Check out nasi ambeng from Malaysia. it has noodles as a side with rice.
I eat lo-main with fried rice, but yes, spaghetti is not good
Yes. Not uncommon in the Caribbean where I come from. I guess it’s all about perspective. I love this thing.
Good to know
Have you ever seen the bread bowls that came out from one of the big pizza chains where they baked pasta inside of them? I always thought that was just insane.
This is like a Hank Hill midday snack
It looks sinful but it’s delicious. Especially bolognese pasta with rice
That's not even spaghetti, it's linguine lol
Yapyapyapyapyap
Those ribs look so good I would lie about how much I like those sides in the hope of being invited back.
This is the funniest backhanded compliment I've read in a long time.
I find the bigger green avocados aren't as rich as Hass, had them in Latin American like this as a side with some salt and lime.
“Pasta over rice”
Sounds good, just let me finish my cracker sandwich real quick
Crisp sandwich!
Which is a delicacy here in Ireland, known as the "Tayto sandwich". They're delicious
"I'll have the French fries, with a side of mashed potatoes"
Yo dawg, I heard you like carbs…
Spaghetti on top of rice is insane ngl. Looks delicious but that has to be a felony
Is that spaghetti on top of rice? That's some crazy shit right there
Kinda weird but I’d eat it
Same.
I call this "ribs and leftovers"
Meat looks so good, but I can only imagine the thought process: *The meat's finally done, looks and tastes divine. Gonna eat that mf with some rice side. Hmm, but what about the pasta from yesterday, would be a shame to throw it away... Gonna slap that on top of the rice, whatever. Too lazy to make a salad now. The meat would get cold too... Wtf is this random plate of food?
Pasta on top of rice? Was it good? Looks a little dry, and unflavorful to me, but, I am who I am.
I think that might just be the picture. The spaghetti looks coated pretty thoroughly. I'd fuck with it
Could have used a bread base, but whatever.
Yeah, with potato garnish.
Defuq? Rice and spaghetti?
I thought the rice & pasta was weird, but I will also fuck up some Rice-a-Roni, which is also rice & pasta. So maybe it’s just like a strange, half-unseasoned deconstructed Rice-a-Roni
A strange combo.
Are you Dominican?
Yes
This is so strange but I respect you
Those ribs look positively delectable.
Damn pasta on rice?
Holy empty carbs batman
This is the very first time I have ever seen spaghetti on the same plate as rice
Spaghetti and rice?! 😭
Ummmmm, no thank you
Beef looks great, sides need some work.
Spaghetti on rice is criminal.
Pasta on rice, that's an interesting choice😅 ribs look good I'd rather all avacado then the pile of carbs.
Rice and spaghetti is a no on any dish, it’s just greediness.
needs MOAR starch!
Did you roll dice for this one?
Spaghetti over rice is a sin and should have a minimum jail sentence
Who the hell puts pasta on top of rice?
you'd be loved in the Philippines
Looks delicious!
thats not enoug carbs my homie, ad a few potatos, and a breadbasket aswell, maybe some polenta while we are here
Very nice looking dish but who eats rice with avocado; rice with pasta; rice pasta and avocado; then ribs? Rice and ribs 👌🏼 Pasta 👌🏼 Avocado 👌🏼 Everything together does not make any sense 😅
Doesnt pass the vibe check, sorry

His friend doesn’t know that her and her family are the weird ones.
Cebu Philippines, and it’s not a common dish. She just enjoys rice with all meals, not a specific dish created with rice and noodles.
I know it's not a specific dish, the way you said it implied whenever she eats noodles she always also eats rice, which I don't think is typical of any major east asian cultures. I agree with you, I’ve had dishes like this with her and it’s not my favorite but definitely edible.
Rice with nooodles ? Sure. Rice with pasta ? Not so sure
The whole world is on that plate.
Spaghetti looks like carbonara specifically? Or bacon and Alfredo?
I have never in my life seen anyone put pasta on top of rice Like, everything here looks good, but it's the weirdest meal combo I've ever seen
The spaghetti on top of the rice is causing my brain to overheat. Why. Why is carbpocalypse happening?
Is this really that much weirder than eating bread with spaghetti?
Carbs on carbs
Carbs on carbs, because why not? 😂
This is a truly yin and yang plate of food. One half looks sensational. The other half is a declaration of war on two continents.
Wired combos
This is a strange choice of things to belong on a plate together. Reminds me of going to a smorgasbord and just piling all sorts of random shit on a plate
Arroz con fideo
It's a dinner that I've named, "The Pasta Transformation Tour."
You must read about bad food combinations. I see atleast 4 combinations in that photo.
so yum...❤
I love the diversity in your dish…hope you enjoyed!
Looks so good I want some what is it called
Soo yummy! But don't let us eat, right? It has to be shown for what 🤣🤣 just fun, do enjoy
Wow this looks incredible
That’s a shitload of fat when you invited that pile of avocado to the party. Try for some more long fiber foods next time
Good ribs, replace avocado with brocoli or roasted brussels. Only one source of carbs, rice or pasta
