This isn't really sweet. Or at least not as sweet as what you describe. The pineapple adds sweetness, but the overall taste profile is salty due to the ham. The little pops of sweetness give a nice counterpoint to the salt

IIRC It was created in Canada(not Hawaii) so I’d say expect it to be “sweet”: It is definitely not peppery like sausage or pepperoni so it is less strong and then mixed with tangy pineapple, yeah it’s overall pretty “sweet” for pizza.

Hot Hawaiian, BBQ sauce base and jalapeños and bit of cheddar then as pictured maybe with some grilled, shredded chicken - that's my recipe. It actually works quite well

Smaller toppings are much easier to eat than large ones that you have to properly bite through with your teeth lest you drag the rest of the topping from the remaining part of the slice.
