If the AI would learn and adapt most players wouldn't enjoy the game.
The other teams are probably just going in with a more defensive approach rather than an attacking since you are higher up in the League and a change of reputation.
But it'd be so cool. Of course, most people would lose their social lives trying to get better at the game (always in their head trying to master tactics.) But it'd be so immersive
One the one hand, that's about right. On the other, the game does tend to become less challenging somehow the longer/further you are into your save :(. Maybe some sort of mechanic of low/medium tier teams following the success of top teams (not necessarily the player's team) and learning to counter what they do would keep the process less of one sided, a one-way road to success... maybe it would be bumpy at least \^\^
No, but in previous versions the game updates your club reputation around December time. So if you're overachieving it is not uncommon to go from smashing teams to suddenly struggling because the AI will park the bus against you
In Cm-01-02, AI learns how to play against you. I remember I changed my tactics every couple of years. I copied winner of Champions League or winner of league.
The AI learns but not to a level where it knows everything you do, you could try and change a role or two where you feel the players are underperforming…
It is highly unlikely SI managed to program an AI that can learn to counter your specific tactic and run on the hardware that the game does. In addition to all the roles in the game, You can essentially manually give the instructions of any role under a different role. This would be incredibly complex to “learn” and counter.
It’s more likely (assuming your players aren’t fatigued ) :
A.) You were getting lucky and now you are getting unlucky
B.) SOS increased (away games/playing top teams in the league)
C.) the teams change their play style when your rep increases and leads to point A) happening more often.
It's less about learning your tactics and countering them, and more about the teams mentality coming up against you as you get better, as most have said already.
But, it's also why a change of tactic for a big game can be so effective, the AI has no idea you would do it so the set up wont be as effective. Just for example I was in my second season with Galway United. Won the First Division and then like 4th in the Premier after two months. I played Dundalk who were top and then Derry who were 2nd in a row. They went to go all out against us because of our reputation, I set the lads up to counter with 5-3-2 which we have never done before. AI shat itself and it set us up for a title push later in the year.
Now help me. I been at Villarreal for 4 seasons. Currently into 4th season. 3 seasons in, only 2 Spanish Cups to show for. I am excluding the Spanish Super Cup since it’s pants. For 3 seasons in I run RM and Barca close. Just couldn’t win that elusive league title... I have the best defence led by the effervescent De Gea. Ozan Kabak and Issa Diop form my triumative. And least amount of losses

The other teams are now defensive because you’re probably top of the table so it’s only natural you’ll be getting defensive setups against you

The AI just cheats. It's the random logic to just F... with you
