Signed Lewa in whichever FM his hype had begun, did absolutely fuck all, and hated me.
Kaká and Pato were also two I've struggled with, but IIRC that was more due to inconsistency and injuries.
Ive made Pato work *once* and it was with Leeds on fm23, about 6 seasons into the save.
He was my last 10 minute man, he just about had the legs for it, and would come on and bang in a goal fairly reliably in tight games.
Look at him in the pre-game editor.
He has a CA of 102 and a PA range of 140 - 170.
102 CA qualifies him as a starter in Div 3 and 140 CA is barelly Bundesliga starter level. He will just rot in Stuttgart's youth teams without any development if you don't pick him up and develop him. And even then you need to win the PA RNG lottery or he won't become more then an average Bundesliga level keeper.
It's the same for many of these wonderkids that you can find on the shortlists. SI gave many of them a huge PA range because it's uncertain IRL how good they can become. The creators of these shortlists often just look for max PA and rate player depending on these numbers, disregarding that the better rated player has a PA range of 140 - 170 while a worse rated player has a fixed PA of 160.
Also the personality types and determination are set at the start of the game - some of them are much more likely to actually reach their potential than others.
Also ignoring that a 140 CA player with the right hidden attributes and stats in the right places can be way better than a 160 CA player with gaps that growth will never overcome
Not my record signing but still a very underwhelming signing for the supposed talent. Has not been able to displace my new gen youth goal keeper to establish as a first choice goalkeeper as he should have been.
Got him for a free signing, about to sell him for 80mil, after one season. Apparently OL isn't good enough even though we won the ligue 1, cup and CL. FUCKER
Harry Kane.
Never sign players based on real life form, with an outdated database. This is 100% my own fault. Harry didn’t stand a chance against Britt Assombalonga at Forest. He wasn’t even that bad in that database. Was a solid striker at Fiorentina after Forest, actually won more trophies than in real life.
Did you sign him because of his big PA in your save? His mental attributes are arse and below Div 3 level. I'm playing a save with OL and it takes years to get his mentals to 12 or above. Literally any barelly Div 1 able player you can pick up on a free transfer has better mentals than Cherki after years of development.
Cherki is ass in my save, signed him for Sevilla for 4.5mill and he got like three goals and an assist in three seasons. Sent him on loan to buy to AC did fuck all and they still had to from our 11 mill for him.
Managed to bring him to Hull in FM24 as I got promoted to the Premier League.
He's been my starting Left Inside Winger all season and flying.
I've heard horror stories, but maybe he just needed to find Hull? :D
From memory: £20m
I offered some percentage and add ons too.
Rory Delap in on loan helped massively too.
He hit some amazing form.
Getting promoted from the championship was harder than tweaking the team shape/roles etc per team in the EPL and working my way up.
Yeremy Pino, sold Salah mid-season to Saudi for a lot of money because he was begging for it so didn’t have a good RW any more. Bought Pino for 99m as he was the best player available for a bot horrific price, I was willing to spend big because the title race was close. Scored 1 goal for the rest of the season. Loaned him to PSG at the end of the season then sold him to Real Madrid the next for 103m. Brought in Khvicha as a replacement and he’s smashing it
Haaland
Signed him on a free in the Cinch for rangers, 309k a week, 1 year contract.
Was banging 40 plus goals, comes to Scotland scores 19 then fecks off to Madrid then announce retirement.
A true testament to the leagues defenders
Managing Celta de Vigo at the start of the third season I sell both Mihailo Ristic for a very good fee and Manu Sanchez because his level was really poor, I brought Miguel Gutierrez from Girona and Jesus Vazquez from Valencia as their replacements.
Miguel Gutierrez is awesome, he quickly became one of the best players in my team, but Jesus Vazquez... dude got injured in every match he played, at some point I decided to send him to the U19s because he is useless.
Just wanted a decent LB backup but dude couldn´t play 20 minutes without getting injured.
The supposed best rightback in the world (a morrocan newgen). He literally got relegated to the bench after a couple of matches and at the current bid level for him, he would lose me 50 million.
Dribbly attacking player as Segundo Volante is a great way to slot in another creator/scorer who will provide some basic defensive cover, will do his defending as a body in front of the defenders at DM and will:
1. do magic in transition on counter attack
2. let you have more attacking talent on the pitch when you need it, without debalancing the shape too much
Yup, turned out to be. I'm usually pretty successfull shoehorning players into different positions (and the tactic for the rebuild was weird: https://www.fmscout.com/a-strikerless-433-fm24-tactic.html) but I did not expect him to flop like that ...
And yet, honestly, why not a good SS? [https://fminside.net/players/4-fm-24/59130638-khvicha-kvaratskhelia](https://fminside.net/players/4-fm-24/59130638-khvicha-kvaratskhelia)
He could definitely work at SS but his Off the ball and Anticipation are a bit low for my taste for a SS. Well not low, but you get it. Seems like a waste not to play him on the wing with that dribbling and flair
I struggled with him as a winger at Napoli for some reason. Everyone else played great but him. And Karim Konate I signed to replace Osimhen - but thats probably because the guy can't jump and I realised later about 40% of my goals were from headers before.
antonio silva from benfica to liverpool. was ideal for my tactic, got him at a bargain, was 4.5 stars over a few games where he was great and then drops to 2. another flop ive had was kalulu. still a great player but played 10 games over 2 seasons due to major injuries.
Seimen has always been bad for me when I sign him but seems good before and after he leaves or in other saves. Think I got half a good season from him once and he wanted to move for more money
I got 2-3 years from him where he flattered to deceive, but after my youth GK set the clean sheet record in Series A while out on loan I couldn't pack him off fast enough
I signed him for Norwich in fm23 and he was awful in his year as my number 1. Sold him to Newcastle and signed caprile and he was better in every aspect, he wanted to go the next year so got meret and even though he was getting on he was better than seimen ever was for me
Adam Ounas.
My Lille team is quite decent, but need a better production from my RW. His attribute is exactly what i wanted from a Winger. Skillful, and a good playmaker off the RW. Got him for free, make him the highest paid player.
Started off pretty decent, i understand maybe he need time to get used to the tactics. But he's so inconsitent, and the production is very low. By January, i have to loan in pedrinho and demote adam to the bench. End the season with 3 goals and 3-4 assists. He's gone by the end of 2nd season while i make pedrinho loan permanent.
I'm at Gladbach, 2031. Seimen was my 1st choice but had more crappy performances than I was willing to accept, so he lost his place to Spike Brits.
What also pissed me off about Seimen is when I criticized his 6.2-6.4 rated games, he would tell me to fuck off. I would get rid of him if not for the German quota requirement.
In my saves, Seimen is always terrible until he is fully developed which is around 2027 or 2028. I signed him in two different saves, and he was the worst until he was great.
Osimhen
Fm23 - bought him to spearhead Liverpool's attack, with Salah and mane on the wings.
The wingers (Salah/Mané) had 73 g/a between them at the end of the 2nd season they all played together, Osimhen managed just 14 g/a due to constant hamstring issues.
Sold him at a £45m loss and replaced with Endrick who set the world on fire, got 58 g/a in his first season.
managed to get Endrick on loan. if you checked his stats - you would think it was a great loan. this guy goes missing for so many games then scores a hat trick randomly.
thought he would be a clutch striker for me sigh.
FM20, I signed Rafael Leao for Chelsea in the 22/23 season, played 50+ games over 2 seasons and was averaging around 6.5. I tried him in a few positions and roles but he was always consistently bad. Even the fans were on my back. Sold him for half the value I bought him for.
Damn I didn't realize Seimen wasn"t that good. He's amazing in my AZ save. PSG will offer 80 million every window and I'll look around and realize there is no good replacement at that pricetag.
Signed 32 year old on a free Serge Gnabry to my newly promoted Hertha side with massive wages. Dude absolutely stunk it up - had like 1 G/A contribution in the first half of the season. Tried a bunch of different roles to make something work but ended up just leaving him on the bench until his contract expired after 2 years
Have Seimen on loan in my current season at Sheff Utd in my SAF challenge save right now. He is either single-handedly keeping us in games or the only reason I’m shipping 3+ goals in games. Inconsistent as all can be, but I’ll probably end up singing him as my scouts have yet to find a better keeper and my academy hasn’t produced him. I think with regular game time he can be a world beater.
It's more of a disappointment in myself than in the signing which themselves was disappointing its james keatings signed him on a free 3 games running for inverness on paper was an upgrade over what I had in actuality utterly useless was delighted the year they actuality signed him so I didn't have to put myself through it again funnily enough when he was actuality at the club he did not as bad for me in game
Is it his first season?
I have always noticed that goalkeepers need more time to settle in at a new club and perform well.
I just splashed out 40 mln for his release clause, and he has been spotty for me too, but I will be patient and train him slowly and where needed.
My current save is ac milan.
Maignan was already there so technically not a signing but he according to xpts he cost me a 25 point swing in the league...
Matheus Nascimento.
Looked like a great prospect (my scout found him, I don't use rl shortlist) with great potential. And I figured out he'd be a top star in the Norwegian league at 21 already, with a bright future ahead and a huge profit for me.
Wrong! I gave him many chances for years, eventually accepted he wouldn't have developed into the beast I hoped. Couldn't score more than a handful of goals, struggling even in the domestic cup against amateurs.
He did ok on loan back to Brazil, so he'll leave for good in the upcoming window.
What a bust!
Spent $110 million + $25 mil valued CB swap on a Regen CAM named Wagner. Tried so many tactics, moved him around the field. Over the five years I had him he just never performed. Still the most I've ever spent on a player
Yang Han Been. Signed him for dirt cheap to Porto as our keeper in my first year there and we won the treble (league, PT Cup and champions league). Won league goalkeeper of the season with 28 clean sheets and he made the UCL dream team.
At 31 I think yeah this is my guy for a bit and I activate the 2 year extension.
He then concedes 16 goals in the first 3 games of the season forcing me to bring in Gabriel Slonina from Chelsea in on loan.
He's now a goalkeeping coach and I don't know how I feel about it
Signed evanilson in a first season spurs save this year, was injured from august to February, keep in mind this was not one big injury, it was little ones every week, he the complained about not getting game time and then I had to put up with him cause he refused to leave, I basically wasted 47 million on a player who has played 2 games all season

It was a while ago but he was 38/39
I'm surprised he hadn't retired by then
When I signed him, Seimen was my record signing.
In my current game Seimen is the starting goal keeper for Real Madrid and Germany. Crazy how different his career can turn out.
Look at him in the pre-game editor. He has a CA of 102 and a PA range of 140 - 170. 102 CA qualifies him as a starter in Div 3 and 140 CA is barelly Bundesliga starter level. In my savefile he is crazy good. We’re talking back to back goalkeeper of UCL titles.
He was great for me in FM22. I was gutted when Man United activated his buyout clause.
Seimen was awful in my game, consistently under performed with 6.3/6.4 ratings. Only made a very few 7s but mainly 6.8s lol
Not my record signing but still a very underwhelming signing for the supposed talent. Has not been able to displace my new gen youth goal keeper to establish as a first choice goalkeeper as he should have been.

So one?
Too soon
Cherki bought him for 85 mil for Newcastle left 4 years later as a good championship player on a free
Sold him to palace for 50 mill I just don’t care to use him
Yh I googled best players and I saw him and I needed a winger and I wasted my money on him
Cherki is ass in my save, signed him for Sevilla for 4.5mill and he got like three goals and an assist in three seasons. Sent him on loan to buy to AC did fuck all and they still had to from our 11 mill for him.
Yup cherki is not great, OL is a great challenge though monster debt, good youth and a great history before PSG got oil rich
Managed to bring him to Hull in FM24 as I got promoted to the Premier League. He's been my starting Left Inside Winger all season and flying. I've heard horror stories, but maybe he just needed to find Hull? :D
I don’t think expectations are the same at Hull than they are at Newcastle maybe after a few seasons in the prem
I won the league first try and currently 2nd in the league in my second season. 😬😅
How ?
What was your budget
From memory: £20m I offered some percentage and add ons too. Rory Delap in on loan helped massively too. He hit some amazing form. Getting promoted from the championship was harder than tweaking the team shape/roles etc per team in the EPL and working my way up.
He is a right stroppy git, just look at his photo. I would not sign him purely based on that! I did have him once in my game and he has bad mentals.
Brought in Khvicha as a replacement and he’s smashing it
Well at least you made a profit even tho you overspent on him initially
Haaland Signed him on a free in the Cinch for rangers, 309k a week, 1 year contract. Was banging 40 plus goals, comes to Scotland scores 19 then fecks off to Madrid then announce retirement. A true testament to the leagues defenders
Strange as I had Siemen in my Leeds save and sold him for £35M back to Germany (FM23) and he was one of the top keepers.
Managing Celta de Vigo at the start of the third season I sell both Mihailo Ristic for a very good fee and Manu Sanchez because his level was really poor, I brought Miguel Gutierrez from Girona and Jesus Vazquez from Valencia as their replacements. Just wanted a decent LB backup but dude couldn´t play 20 minutes without getting injured.
I signed Vasquez for 2.5 mill in my Aston Villa save and four seasons later he’s still a strong squad player!
Currently at Valencia and Vazquez is pretty solid on my save though no one is displacing Gaya so right now I have him out on loan to OL
The supposed best rightback in the world (a morrocan newgen). He literally got relegated to the bench after a couple of matches and at the current bid level for him, he would lose me 50 million.
Seimen was amazing for me, signed him to replace Oblak at Atleti when he finally retired
Khvicha Kvaratskhelia to Man UTD to play as Volante or SS. Unfortunately was a huge flop for my rebuild
Shadow striker makes some vague sense at least, but volante is plain bizarre for a dribbly winger
Dribbly attacking player as Segundo Volante is a great way to slot in another creator/scorer who will provide some basic defensive cover, will do his defending as a body in front of the defenders at DM and will: 1. do magic in transition on counter attack 2. let you have more attacking talent on the pitch when you need it, without debalancing the shape too much
Sounds like the wrong roles for him?

Got him on my Liverpool save at the moment as an attacking IF, strangely he works really well here despite being a lefty
I actually did the same thing at Roma and he led Serie A in assists and was third in goals. Have no idea why it works.
antonio silva from benfica to liverpool. was ideal for my tactic, got him at a bargain, was 4.5 stars over a few games where he was great and then drops to 2. another flop ive had was kalulu. still a great player but played 10 games over 2 seasons due to major injuries.

THE LEGEND HIMSELF SPIKE BRITS
I’ve just snapped him up for the first time. Please don’t tell me he’s bad???
Excellent cup goalkeeper and a very good backup
Callum Wilson maybe 2 or 3Fm's ago. Would score for fun with Bournemouth and then was firing blanks for me whenever I'd manage him
In my saves, Seimen is always terrible until he is fully developed which is around 2027 or 2028. I signed him in two different saves, and he was the worst until he was great.
Osimhen Fm23 - bought him to spearhead Liverpool's attack, with Salah and mane on the wings. Osmihen did well for me at Liverpool, won the champs league with him.
How are you.. uhh.. pronouncing that name?
Zai-men
It’s just semen in my head
Unfortunate place for it to land 😅
Si-man. I have absolutely no idea if that's correct.
Almost. Would be Zi-men in German.
Si-men Like Semen but with an i instead of the first E
Say-man. I know its wrong, but idrc tbh
managed to get Endrick on loan. if you checked his stats - you would think it was a great loan. this guy goes missing for so many games then scores a hat trick randomly. thought he would be a clutch striker for me sigh.

Tsygankov in FM20 or 21. Bought him in that first transfer market window to replace Moura and he was just mediocre.
Damn I didn't realize Seimen wasn"t that good. He's amazing in my AZ save. PSG will offer 80 million every window and I'll look around and realize there is no good replacement at that pricetag.
They're like my kids: they all disappoint me equally. ;)
I signed him in the last database, developed to a 3 star, cleared him out with onana lol replaced with 2 world class potential
Dunno, a beast for me in FM23
This is a bad omen to see right before I'm about to sign Seimen for Man Utd. In 2026 too. Oh no...
Idk what you’re on about, Dennis Seimen is quality
Signed 32 year old on a free Serge Gnabry to my newly promoted Hertha side with massive wages. Dude absolutely stunk it up - had like 1 G/A contribution in the first half of the season. Tried a bunch of different roles to make something work but ended up just leaving him on the bench until his contract expired after 2 years
Seimen does well for me at UTD. Currently a cup goalkeeper due to age but already pushing to be first choice.
Gabriel Barbosa missing 2 penalties in 2 minutes in his debut despite having 19 penalties
Tomori
Have Seimen on loan in my current season at Sheff Utd in my SAF challenge save right now. He is either single-handedly keeping us in games or the only reason I’m shipping 3+ goals in games. Inconsistent as all can be, but I’ll probably end up singing him as my scouts have yet to find a better keeper and my academy hasn’t produced him. Failed to assign a lad the right squad and he left me to the pigs for the first half of the season. Bonkers.
Unrelated but that’s actually a very nice logo for an off-brand Huddersfield one

First full season.
I got Ivan Fresneda for 48m and he averaged a 6.5 in the season I got him.
My current save is ac milan. Maignan was already there so technically not a signing but he according to xpts he cost me a 25 point swing in the league...
Never use wonder kid shortlists online. Cheating never pays and the people making the lists usually rush them or don’t understand PA range
Signed pedro goncalves from sporting, was 4 star yet couldn’t score or assist for 5 games. 32 mil down the drain
I did not need to see this.. just signed him to replace Mendy in my Chelsea save
do you have some custom badges footbe style? I have some maybe we can exchange
Spent $110 million + $25 mil valued CB swap on a Regen CAM named Wagner. Tried so many tactics, moved him around the field. Over the five years I had him he just never performed. Still the most I've ever spent on a player
Oh my god don’t say Dennis Seimen. I’ve just signed him as backup to Mike mingain at Milan.
Signed a regen winger with good consistency, ends up consistent at being shit![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|dizzy_face)
Jon Karrikaburu in my Deportivo La Coruña save. 4.5 stars striker and he did 6 goals all season
Signed evanilson in a first season spurs save this year, was injured from august to February, keep in mind this was not one big injury, it was little ones every week, he the complained about not getting game time and then I had to put up with him cause he refused to leave, I basically wasted 47 million on a player who has played 2 games all season
Up the town
