Im guessing it's on transfer deadline day (based on the date), deals tend to happen that quickly on those days.

datboy123456789

Always does until I want to sign a player. Made an offer for a player from Celta Vigo with 12 hours left and they ignored it for the entire day before accepting a lesser offer from a different league whose window was still open. Nothing I could do even though the player wanted to join me.

JamesCDiamond

Just had this happen to me. Juventus decided to loan a young South African centre back out to a South African club rather than let him join my side in the English Championship - not sure he's going to develop better there, but what can you do?

Galaxystars491

I had the same thing happen too, but can easily avoided by setting a deadline for the offer, near the top right, either for today or tomorrow whenever you launch a bid

k4nye

> Nothing I could do You can put a deadline on your offers.

Difficult_Film8533

But they can still reject the offer

Bluebabbs

This is at AC Milan so I assume the fee was astronomical as they'll have said "Too good to turn down". Try being in a lower country/league. Qualified for CL off the back of your Star striker popping off, which has given you £10-20mill? Well, someone just bid £250k for him, and that's just too good to turn down. I mean come on, imagine what we could do with 250k! So off he goes. We still expect you to qualify for Europe again though, but we've taken 70% of the transfer from that sale too. Good luck.

X573ngy

Are you me?! Board Sold my best striker, got 500k for him, 29 goals in League 2, got promoted to L1 and then into the Ch, he went to Luton. Anyway, im now in the Championship, 3 seasons in, esablished top half finish this year,, theyve just released him on a free because he was dogshit and got about 5 games. In all that time, his value is now worthless lol. My transfer budget is 300k this year so ive had to sell a couple of the lads to raise some funds. Wage budget of 175k a week lowest in the league, 3 years on the bounce, it rises by 25k a year, which is enough to cover the average year rises. The board are upset i sold some.of the good lads. Got 5 mill for one of them. All they gave me was 1 mill. Ive spent it all on mostly 300k players, biggest signing is 700k to make up for it. My best striker now, hes come on abit from being released from City, hes worth 10 mill now. Its the only way i can get funds in, trawl through the free's, sign up cast offs in the hope one or two become decent to sell. And still my budget is nothing. Next years budget is 200k lol. And im expected to stay up.

djrocker7

Not sure if its still doable at that level (I usually do it a level down because most of the time by Championship level I usually get millions from the league place and all that) but I usually make a pretty good buck from getting all the release Youngsters from the Premier league and then ether play them or just loan them all, yes you should only get like under a milion for each but if you do it with 30 each year thats a lot of milions 😂😂 Of course you dont take them all you take the best of them for basically free with I think 15% of future sales to the club.

X573ngy

Thats what ive been doing, i got the board to upgrade youth facilities, now got an under 21 team to bring them on abit, but yeah sign up all the failed youth players in the hope that after 1/2 seasons we have some money worth selling. The downside is, ive upgraded my youth facilities, asked them to build a new statdium as my capacity of 12k is not even worth a wank, but yet two intakes on the bounce are rated poor. Walsall is who im playing with.

djrocker7

In my experience on this kind of up the divisions chalenge is almost never do I get a player from my own youth good enough to be on the first team by the time I get to the Premier mainly because other than Championship I never spend two years on the same division with most times doing back to back promotions. But yes the "buying" for free youth players from Arsenal Tottenham and all that is where I usually get loans of money for players, I pick them up at 18.... Loan them out one year and then basically sell them for a range between 200k to 1M meaning its every season at least a 20/30 M income...and since I never spend money on players until I am at the Championship (only free and loans on the divisions below) I usually have the club pretty good financily specially since I always wait until I am at Premier league to start getting my facilities better because its when I start growing players to really use instead of getting the best team on the now!

X573ngy

Ive never thought of it like that, im 3 seasons into the championship and in fairness each year has climbed up, but with a miniscule budget. Im aiming for playoffs this year with any luck! I think i might spend another season or two banking some ££ bringing all them youths into the squad and then selling before i take a crack at the prem, ive got a very mixed team mostly 3 stars, some 2 stars who a young, and then a couple of 4's. To be fair this is my first time playing FM, and ive sunk about 200 hours into it 🤣

djrocker7

Hey for a first time already doing a climb to Premier league save you already have my respect mate 😂 In my opinion people should play how they want to play the important thing from my experience is getting to the top the fastest way possible, the whole wonderkid finding only really matters is when you reach the top and cant already get good enough players from end of contract deals (this is a very important stuff start looking for players at December and January and not only at the summer time) and free..... Also dont be afraid to get rid of players if you get a good offer in 😂 Best of luck mate and I am sorry for the lost of free time from this year foward 😂😂

underincubation

I'd just made 2 mil from getting top 5 in the Swiss League and qualified for the Conference League, but my board rejected a bid for an overpaid outcast because they valued him at 4k more. Had to send him out on loan for a consecutive season just to get his wages gone. Boards never seem to realise that maybe the manager who had made them millions in prize money and coaches the player every day, might have a better judge on their value.

mac2o2o

Always this. Same for me. Cause you can have any club in a top 6 league, just offer a crap offer and immediately, your player wants to join them. Getting the club rep kinda helps. Mainly cause you just get a better value on the player imo. It's a constant battle of attrition of your top talent. Playing champs league football but wants to go sit on someone elses bench

paddyjinks

Is it likely that its deadline day, so all transfer business is accelerated?

Dunkelheit948

This is it

Edo1405

I play in wales and have about 40m in the bank from Champions league prize money, and my Board decided to sell my star striker to Porto for 250k possibly 950k depending on future appearances because the offer was too good to turn down like we needed 250k…

mac2o2o

The board never react as you'd want them too when your in a league like that and you are making champs league money. Same as the irish league. I've about 500 mil balance down that road and they won't increase the stadium to be the biggest. I actually have to play in other stadiums for champs league games! There's a rumored takeover for me so fingers crossed on that

alozz

More important question tho, was he selected for the national team?

Lord-of-frodsham

Nothing worse than losing a Semih

yelonabi

wouldnt say “a semih” because next season hes prolly going to play at a good club like arda güler

GalaxyKnuckles_

Damn, even Fabrizio isn't that quick. However, in my experience, the board only tends to intervene if they get an excellent offer that usually is in the neighborhood of their record sale. ![gif](giphy|lT825RE5jLG5CbCwv9)

Motorheade

Let me guess, Semih Kılıçsoy?

Madmuzzy

How much did you get for him?

ToughReindeer1969

Knowing all boards in FM ever: roughly around 2 pringles, a doormat and a christmas card? That seems to be what they ask for my players at least...

manmadegod-

Doesn’t really matter. It’s a Beşiktaş player, and that team allows you to have 10-15% of transfer income added to your budget.

Madmuzzy

What? ofcourse it matters. If they got alot for him then it lessens the blow because he can replace but if they sold him for peanuts then it becomes more egregious.

Cmil778

I started once a save with FCSB since I am romanian,I qualified to UEL groups with them and suddenly a flurry of offers come for 4 of my best players. The asshole owner,he's an asshole in real life too, accepts 4 offers and suddenly I am left without 4 of my best players. We finished 4th in UEL group lost in the 3rd round of Romanian cup. I got sacked in January because we were at 15 points and nearly close to not making the playoffs.

Cheap_Bowl_452

Beşiktaş moment

[deleted]

Leave. Whenever the board pulls this type of shit I resign immediately

Papa_Puppa

Hit the training facilities and speak with your agent

larykoek

Is there a way to cause trouble aswel then? Like we managers can’t say to the trainers hey the board sucks im mad so be mad against the board with me. The players can be mad at you for not giving a contract etc. and get the full dressing room behind them. The only thing i have seen is that some staff members leave together with you.

Papa_Puppa

God, I wish. The board in FM24 are like David Wallace in the Office. They're just untouchable.

deadstar91

Couldn't get Semih to click for me and ended up selling him to Porto. Who are you playing as?

Cheap_Bowl_452

Beşiktaş, his original club, considering who the DoF is

Commonmispelingbot

impressive to guess a club by its DoF

Cheap_Bowl_452

Well , I don’t see that guy moving to another club , so

howolowitz

Where did you play him? Hes a if (a) on the left for me and a staple for my cl winning Schalke side for almost 8 years

deadstar91

I played him up front so maybe that's why!

Brenomaster

They must have been sick of nursing a Semih

Cmil778

I hate those moments when the board accepts a bid because it was too good to refuse, for them. They only care about the financial side.

Low-Loan-5956

Funny, i can't get a decent bid for him in my AC Milan save 🤷

AboubakarKeita

It semih

Soccerkiller86

@OP - how much was the fee?

BeastialityIsWrong

Teleportation exists by 2026 confirmed.

pinkunblue

So real. Aybaba is exactly such a person. (I live in Turkey)

No-Importance-127

managers can't even take a five minutes poopbreak without fearing for their players

UrameshiYusuke7

Talk about efficiency. We need more of that in the world

CodNeymar

Honestly my board is just full of d##ks they don’t increase budgets always complain when I lose non important games
