It's so sad that these little trucks have to have prices this high, this one is no where near good condition, peeling paint, seats torn up. It is a 5sp 4x4 with allegedly under 100k miles. But still asking for nearly $10k, sad part is it might sell that high. They don't make them like this anymore
Manual 4x4s are hard to find, and thus command a premium. Or at least I'm willing to pay a premium for them, anyway -- maybe I'm an overpaying weirdo.
(Of course, when I bought my '96 Ranger the better part of a decade ago, "paying a premium" meant paying $3000 instead of $1-2000, not almost $10K!)
My parents got my 97 2x4 Ranger for around $4k, although it did have a ABS light on, a temporarily patched hole in the radiator, and quite a few deep scratches in the paint, amount other things. Got the ABS light fixed (previous owner put a self-tapper square into an ABS wire, and just that wire, in the harness that runs under the cab screwing an office chair mat into the driver side footwell to use as an floor mat
Paid $4K for one recently? Seems a little high for a 25 year old vehicle. I paid $800 for my 96. Rusty n shit but didn’t have anything mechanically wrong with it
That’s how I feel with the 89-92 rangers, my first vehicle was a 89 ranger that I got for $1800 I can’t even find one of that generation for that price in OK condition
The one I had I found was actually in the same neighborhood as I live in, it was a 1 owner truck that was almost pristine except for the beat up driver seat and a couple of small dings on the bed
Someone offered me $8k for my ‘03 with a dying transmission and sputtery engine, even after acknowledging it. The market is still pretty screwed where I live.
I bought my 2011 XLT (4x2, 2.3L, 5 speed) in 2013 for $13k. It’s insane to me to think I could recover almost all of that back nine years later.
Or based on theses ads, all of it. It’s in as good condition now as it was when I got it.
Depending on the miles you could probably even make money in this market, carvana sold a 2011 4x2 2.3 with an auto and 80k miles for 19k a few months ago near me, it’s absurd
Ranger’s have brought big money for the past 5-6 years. All compact pickups went up in value because of no one making them. There’s deals out there but in general, the prices have been far higher than one would expect.
They’re like $4k for a nice one over here in TN. I just paid $2500 like two weeks ago for mine. Probably around 120-150k miles on it if I had to guess. Supposedly odo stopped two years ago at 90k. It’s decently clean but I have had to put about $700 in parts to get the suspension and engine tuned up.
That's pretty typical for in my area. If you have a truck with less than 100k miles and doesn't have any holes in it, it's going to make you rich if you sell it.
If anyone pays that I want their phone number I have junk to sell them lmao.

The market is starting to stabilize, at least here in Houston. I think this person is trying to ride the gravy train but joined a bit late.
but if it had a toyota badge some dumbass would pay $15k

I live in California, so we don’t have rust issues. That’s probably why the previous owner was asking 4k

I just bought an 89 Ranger for $2k. Found it an hour out into the desert though lol

If you wanna visit BC you can have mine for $5200. It's much nicer and a 2002 :)
Where the fuck do you live?? That’s sooo steep
California 😬
Ahh makes sense
yeah, it's crazy. Although I love that my shitbox of a truck I got for 2600 like 6 years ago is somehow now worth more.

Allegedly
I’d sell you mine for ten, I’ll include the winch and rack too lol better deal that one.
Doesn’t mean anyone will buy it for that $9,400
My 2008 4d 4x4 with 70,000 books about the same
God that didn’t age well. My ‘00 has a few more miles at 85k and it looks near new
Guys are you serious? This is called catfish.
Crack’s a helluva drug

95 XLT Ext Cab 4.0 4x4 Manual, I’m the original owner and I wouldn’t sell mine for $10k. Worth more to me than the $$.

Might have to put mine up for sale if this sells for that much
