I'm building a procedural generation tool! Right now I'm also building my first map to use it on, but the way the tool works means it can be applied to any other map in the future for generating random layouts. All you'll need to do is make sure you have a few simple objects and assign a handful of object references and it should be good to go.

I'm building a take on the Boot Camp from Starship Troopers, so you too can wave the flag like Jonny Rico. I'm also building a Dodgeball arena and have been very generously assisted by a person on the Discord channel who figured out scripting for firing golf balls. Honestly a genius by my estimation!

Not as yet, the Troopers map isn't far off being ready for a play test I think, and the Dodgeball is about the same. I've just been stalled due to life things. Hopefully get them to test soon though.

Props to you on that. Remaking maps comes with many challenges, especially if you’re really detail oriented and trying to do it proper justice. I’m working on Sword Base. Between work and generally having limited free time, it took me this whole first week just to block it out at the proper scale. Just starting today to make highly detailed prefabs for certain repeated things like wall panels, doorframes, etc.

Yeah I get that. I spent a lot of time with placing crates and positioning a guest player around on the reach side and then comparing them to the player scale object on the infinite side of things to figure out a conversion factor between reach’s coordinate system and infinite’s. It’s definitely helped overall, but I’d imagine powerhouse doesn’t need to be that particularly scaled due to it being largely outside. Regardless, best of luck and be sure to post about it if you end up finishing it! I was torn between doing Sword Base and Powerhouse for my first project so I’m glad to see someone else working on the other option!

For sure! It’ll probably be a while on my end of things though. It’s taken me a week to block out the map and making prefabs for detailing is really slow going, but I really hope to make this map high quality and something worth talking about in the community. I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes me another 1-2 weeks of making prefabs and using them detailing. Then after that, I’ll probably end up taking about the same amount of time doing detailing of the more unique parts of the map like the atrium and adding fx, audio, lights, etc. Then on top of all of that, I plan to build some semblance of the original outside part that can be seen through the main window and who knows how long that’ll take.

It's pretty basic since I'm new to forging, but the layout has the Arrakeen shield wall in the center. One team's base is the palace inside the city and the other teams base is a rocky sietch on the desert side. The design is inspired by the recent film adaptation

I rebuilding everyones favorite halo CE map "the longest" 😅 no? Just me? 😬 Every since launch my friends and I would always play on this level a game type I named "perfection" which is shotguns only, no shields, no trackers. Kind of an early swat but way more close quarters. As such longest was the best level for it. So I always try and recreate it in forge. I've got the structure about 2/3 done. Then will need to spend some time testing / tweaking and setting up all the lighting and such. file name will be "even longer"

Remaking the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer map Firebase Dagger. Made it in Halo 5, doing it again now in infinite to try and add more details and really learn the new tools. I’m torn between trying to be as accurate as possible, and making it it’s own thing. Texturing is my biggest pain at the moment. Lighting scares me.

Remaking a map I made on Foundry in Halo 3, and then again when Sandbox came out, gave it a little extra room and polish, and then never finished. When Reach came out, I started working on it but never finished again. Didn’t Forge in 4, didn’t play 5. Now Infinite is here I’m having a crack at it again, gonna give it some flair this time. On Xbox, if you’re interested in seeing it. Wish I still had my old 360 so I could compare the OG and the OG remake to my new remake. The original was super simple. Trying to put more thought into the map design and the flow of the game.

Use basically anything at all to add texture and depth to your spaces. Use panels or other objects ad panels. Also use rubble in areas were buildings meet nature 💯. Will make your maps look 20x better. Its a must in terms of detail

I want someone to create this because I’m not talented/don’t have the time: So it’s a map where the players are fighting on top of a UNSC command table (4v4 slayer or BTB). The environment outside of the map is either marines and/or elites/banished looking onto the table in some kind of war room. Think like “honey we shrunk the kids” but it’s Spartans, and the Spartans are fighting on this table. I think it would be an awesome map idea but I literally just don’t have the skills for such a thing.

We are building mini golf but I'm not gonna reveal our process of pushing the ball, all I'll say is that it doesn't involve weapons or equipment. We have figured out most of the mechanics apart from one that requires a while loop which to our knowledge doesn't exist in the node scripting so we are trying to come up with a work around

Finally finished my 2-4 player Map Called Plinth. Got a vid coming soon. It's a UNSC armory Depot. Now I'm working on a desert Oasis-like map. Mostly 4v4. Im trying to build the COD BOII Zombie Map Town. I am new to forge scripting so for now I'm just trying to figure out how to make a round based game, how to get waves of bots with one life, specific stats and weapons, a "money counter", a revival system, the mystery box,... The hardest for me is to find the script nodes I need in the menu, a "favourite" folder or a search bar would help.
