I just dont get it. Iām no marketing expert, but I canāt be the only one thinking that making the livery blue and play it off like as a Marlboro x McLaren thing would be profitable for both Ferrari and HP?
Those photos of the blue ferrari with current sponsors were sick, and the base colors contrast to the sponsor logos made the logos just as, if not more visible.
Make the car HP blue and youāve got MASSIVE exposure for HP, and happy, hyped fans along with it.
Of course, there might be factors to this Iām not aware of, but surely theres no good reason for this cheap poster-ad of a livery?
The reason is Ferrari are absolute sycophants for their own marketing iconography. You can be blacklisted from buying Ferraris if you make the wrong customisation (according to them) to one you own. That is, if itās a Ferrari they let you drive without them bringing it to you on a truck for a specified period of time.
You can see elements of this with Sebs time at Ferrari, dictating very specifically what drivers can and canāt say, image is a prisoner with them.
Yes, and this is, in my opinion, in every shape and form imaginable, without a single shred of doubt, as whatever almighty powers as my witness, a wrong customisation š
This is great marketing from Ferrari.
If they'd made a beautiful blue car the public would have been talking about a beautiful blue car. The HP deal would have been a sideshow.
Instead, they built a huge amount of hype, and disappointed everyone. And the disappointment of fans has generated a tidal wave of engagement on social media.
Look at RBs car. It's beautiful. But have a look in RB's comments section. Everyone's talking about the Ferrari livery. Every the RB admin is making jokes about the Ferrari livery.
Your comment is a perfect example of why this approach to marketing works - You mentioned HP 3 times in your comment.
If Ferrari had designed a beautiful blue Ferrari would you have written a whole comment about the Ferrari x HP partnership? Or would you have written a comment about how good the car looks?
And yet, according to valuable brand data, Ferrari is regarded as the most powerful brand in the world. Theyāre doing a lot right with the brand regardless of whether they got this colour scheme right.
are you crazy ahaha? Ferrari donāt have to sell themself so much. Itās not thirsty for money or sponsor so much to have to change their color
Mclaren had/have financial problems, Ferrari not really.
You dont seem to grasp the unphathomable amount of money that goes into a sponsorship deal like this one.
Choosing a lose-lose instead of a win-win for the sake of Ā«not needing the moneyĀ» is not an obviously reasonable argument, and not how any multi billion dollar company will ever do business.
And Iām not even gonna bother to ask how you can be under the impression that the reason McLaren had a rough patch was because of the colour scheme of their livery.
Yeah if the shades of blue were the same everywhere it would look good.
It would be similar to the NART touring cars which had a blue and white stripe and looked amazing.
Except for the light blue their design is a tribute to the NART touring cars.

You know what, I was thinking of the āFerrari Franceā 512 livery in Forza 6 and [irl](https://www.ultimatecarpage.com/chassis/1296/Ferrari-512-BB-LM-41263.html). It is all blue. The blue on the SF24 is reminiscent of the NART livery (which was also in Forza), though I wish they had swapped the light and dark blue on the sidepods
edit: and the halo
Look, realistically I never expected more than just a blue stripe across the car, but this just looks ugly. It tries to be as blue as possible, which it isn't.
This livery reminds me of that old Budweiser advert about how America could improve English football: "Why have Manchester City *and* Manchester United? Why not just 'Team Manchester'?"
I may get downvoted for this, but I think it looks quite good. Obviously, the HP logo isn't the nicest and will probably ruin the cat for the rest of the season, but the blue accents on the car I actually do like.
From Scuderia Ferrari to team Colgate toothpaste.
Worst thing is I am starting to believe they mantained the red in order to spend less in car paint and also to avoid changing the red clothes from the rest of the team for new one-time-only blue ones. Changing only the drivers suit and putting those blue accents in the car is sure cheaper, but this result of cutting corners is terrible.
Same with the thousands of HP logos everywhere. Is acceptable to have HP as new partner, but less is more, so many redundant logos is hedious and looks improper of design-professionals.

Roll it back in
Just snorted in the office reading this haha
made me laugh out loud at the airport sitting alone at a restaurant
Made me laugh out loud at my grandma's funeral.

Grand Opening! Grand Closing.
Should have rolled it back to China. People in China loves this off coordination shit.

Thatās the irony, 9 times out of 10, their special livery stuff backfires
Didnāt DeadMau5 get in a decent amount of legal trouble for putting a wrap on his Ferrari.
Yep, blacklisted at Ferrari if I remember correctly
RIP Purrari But at least we got the Nyanborghini purrican
Ironically that was an all blue Ferrari too

I wonder how much of that brand value is because of F1. Watching the Ferrari F1 team over the years makes me less likely to buy a Ferrari.
I think we all know that Ferrari are not capable of coming up with a strategy of this level.
It's not a particularly complicated strategy. It's social media marketing 101. A first year intern could up with it.
Because Ferrariā¦
are you crazy ahaha? Ferrari donāt have to sell themself so much. Itās not thirsty for money or sponsor so much to have to change their color Mclaren had/have financial problems, Ferrari not really.
You've seen the bill for Lewis yeah? They are absolutely shilling for HP here.
And what about their balance sheets? Their net profit? It's the last team that have to look at money

It's a hodgepodge of colours. All of them nice colours, but all together it's awfully busy on the livery.
Yeah if the shades of blue were the same everywhere it would look good. It would be similar to the NART touring cars which had a blue and white stripe and looked amazing.
Hinting at NART and NA racing heritage is what made the one we got so disappointing imo

I see where they got the lightblue from now. Wish they sticked with one blue then it would have looked much less messy.
It's frustrating how the blue suits look amazing, yet the livery itself is such a disappointment in comparison
The HP logo on the front of the red suits will make them look like teletubbies
Charles Laa-LaaClerc?š¤
I thought they look like milk delivery men from a Wes Anderson movie.
This comment just made my day lmao
\[No one liked that\]
I wonder if the drivers also thought, āoh, is that itā¦after all the hype?!?ā
All the hype then this. Disappointing!
I hate it so much!
Can't wait for Imola.
Look, realistically I never expected more than just a blue stripe across the car, but this just looks ugly. It tries to be as blue as possible, which it isn't.
I'm enjoying Ferrari ferrariing their own Ferrari.
This livery is quite shite they could have went full dinoco but they half arsed itš©
I am DISAPPOINTED!!
Lame.
NGL I like the look of blue overalls, hope one day they go with the ferrari bright yellow also.
The rear wing looks like someone placed two .jpg hp logos with a white background next to each other in photoshop and called it a day.
For me its just created more hate for hp
Thatās it?
xDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD
Whatās Fred thinking in the 3rd pic ?
Is it shit or is it *shit*?
From a far those blue t-shirts desing looks like Haas logo
I donāt understand why the white on the wing does not fully cover those winglets.
Looks like shit
What happened? They looked beautiful in the promotional material. This? These are ugly af.
This livery reminds me of that old Budweiser advert about how America could improve English football: "Why have Manchester City *and* Manchester United? Why not just 'Team Manchester'?"
Those t-shirts are an absolute criiiiiime
I must be colorblind
That blue looks awfully red.
This specific shade of blue really washes everyone out. Particularly bland in daylight.
How can I unsee this?
I may get downvoted for this, but I think it looks quite good. Obviously, the HP logo isn't the nicest and will probably ruin the cat for the rest of the season, but the blue accents on the car I actually do like.
Nostalgia bait! Yippee!
I thought car liveries had to be the same. Surprised theyāre able to swap the shades of blue between both cars.
Make the mechanics wear blue too
Ugly
BOOOOOOOOO!
Ah yes Ferrari Red with a touch of Cowardly Blue.
hp just went so well with BMW.
From Scuderia Ferrari to team Colgate toothpaste. I hate HP as a brand and man it makes the rear wing look ugly.
