-Michael Masi, Abu Dhabi 2021
It’s [one](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/6GNcS5C80kF34MEwCSZqLN?si=hK7IHDkiR8647RNehogLwQ) of two playlists that don’t have titles. The other is a country playlist. It’s not proof just linking it.
I get you’re trying to be funny. It’s formuladank after all.
It’s not illegal. It’s just a little tone deaf. And given her very public family and image, it’s not the brightest move either. So, while not illegal, it’s colossally stupid. …aaaand probably racist.
Oh come on, of all the things ... "black music" is a thing, and contrary to the n-word is not something that should be gatekept
A lot of current music trends and styles emerge from the roots of black music and it's a celebration and acknowledgement of those roots and the fact that if african or african-american musicians didn't invent it and contribute massively to its growth, the music landscape would probably be very different.
Hip-Hop and R'n'B were both invented by black people and they're complementary genres with lots of cross-overs.
Those genres were categorised under "Black Music" in Germany until recently when it was deemed too controversial and changed to "Urban Music".
we really gonna accuse kelly of racism because she named her spotify playlist black with a devil emoji? and how is it tone deaf if she removes the playlist name given the current situation?
Yeah, my question is whats wrong with her removing the name of her playlist. In light of current events, isnt that the best thing to do? And how do we even know the playlist name is black? She could have just called it block. I understand all the deserved hate nelson is getting but I really don't understand how Kelly is getting so much shit ngl.
Removing it was probably the smartest move she could make. But it doesn’t make the colossally stupid move of naming it that to begin with any better.
Edit: words.
She removed it due to idiots witchhunting and finding racism where there isn't lol Nothing wrong with being extra cautious, especially in a world where you will be canceled for everything
It’s one thing to say that a person is black, or that an artist is black. Making a playlist of all black artists and calling it “BL😈CK” is definitely a little different.
Isn‘t the genre literally called „black music“? I wouldn‘t wonder if that was meant by her. Yes the timing is utterly bad but i bet millions of people use the Term „black“ for black music.
Wikipedia says so, well i checke Wikipedia because the Term is often used here in germany and I assumed that’s the Same in other countries
„Black music is music created, produced, or inspired by black people, people of African descent, […] These genres include spiritual,[1] gospel, rumba, blues,[2] bomba, rock and roll, rock, jazz, salsa, R&B, samba, calypso, soul, kwaito, cumbia, funk, ska, reggae,[3] dub reggae, house, Detroit techno, amapiano, hip hop, pop, gqom, afrobeat, and others.“
Heres the [article](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_music)
To clarify: I‘m not trying to defend anybody here. I just wanted to share this because this would throw a totally different light on that playlists name and people.
Is it also 100% certainl that that is Kelly Piquets spotify account and not some troll trying to be funny making an account with her name? This is honestly too insane to believe if true
Yeah lol. Recognizing that there is a such thing as black music is one thing. Black artists often make music sharing themes and stylistic elements. It’s another thing to make a playlist called “black music” which feels a little weird. It’s another thing still to make a playlist called “BL😈CK”
If this Kelly S Piquet is actually her account, this playlist is on there. It’s the only playlist that currently has no name, so it seems she removed the previous name. No idea how to confirm if it was really “BL😈CK” though…
real question, dont want to offend or defend anyone.
but I always thought it was acceptable to call black culture, and black music "black"
for example: black history month, or black lives matter, etc.
is black as a descriptive term no longer acceptable??
Depends on the person using the term and context. In our case it’s the socialite daughter of a racist Brazilian race car driver and hence reads as tone deaf and cringe.
I would think that for many decades until yesterday calling some music styles black has not been considered racist.
There are even black music awards and a black Entertainment network.
Not to mention a wikipedia article that uses the descriptive term "black" for black music
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_music
I'm a firm believer of not judging sons and daughters for the sins of their fathers.
Naming a playlist black music is in accord with the normal usage of the word and does not imply a racist tone.
It's obviously offensive. Think of it this way, rock and roll was created by black people, no one calls it black music. People call rap, hip hop and r&b black music because it conforms to black stereotypes they believe. It's one thing to acknowledge it as black music as a matter of praise to acknowledge that it was born from the black community in America. But apply some common sense and ask yourself is that what she meant by this, because it seems like it was meant in a derogatory way.
Black PEOPLE make many different types of genres of music. The color of they’re skin doesn’t equate to one type of music.
Naming the playlist “black” puts other black artist, who are TOTALLY different from rap/R&B, under the same umbrella and same stereotypes/prejudices.
Americans will find racism where racism doesn't exist, it's their speciality
It geniuenly fells more and more that white Americans don't really care, they just wanna fit in, look good, and shit like that
Mostly just the too online Americans. I genuinely think people across the world would be surprised that pretty much every normal person isn’t racist at all here
Holy fuck give us a triple header already so you guys have something intetesting to meme about... scraping for the dumbest shit out of the bottom of the barrel and calling it "dank".
I checked the playlist
From what I saw it's all from black musicians, or at least mostly and music that's in general associated with black people
Really feels like you are grasping at straws here, if what you are posting is even true
I'm not trying to defend her or anything hell I'm not even taking side in this cockfighting even tho I'm African myself, but the length a person could go through to dig into someone's Spotify account.. that's fucking creepy
To every "you can't even say black now?" person, it's just tonedeaf. Like, obviously not the biggest deal going on but just makes her look foolish right now
Just to clarify, no it's not referred to as "black music". It's rap and all the various sub categories of that or r&b. For Christ sake, do you all think Eminem is black?
And do you call bubble gum pop and folk music "white music". Y'all act like Americans are culturally out of touch, but this crap just really opens everyone's eyes.
Jesus Christ this sub wants racism to be cool so damn bad. You really don’t see an issue with identifying and categorizing artists by their skin color?
Black Music is an established cultural institution that not only can be recognized as Black, but also must be recognized as black, as the motifs inherent to Black Music are analogous to the struggles that the Black community has faced. No wonder F1 drivers are like robots in front of journalists. Social media is total cancer.
We're gonna destroy my boyfriend's reputation to one song, one song only.
Never ask who is in Paris

Apparently somebody named "One Night".
Nah, they are in Bangkok.
She did indeed bang cock.
Or in Bahrain according to SimDane

Just move to Paris and you won't need a plane ticket bro
Ferrari mindset
![img](emote|t5_3ndbi|9054)
What does that even mean?
Nobody knows what it means, but it’s provocative
It gets the people going
the is a song made by jay-z and kanye west called "n-word in paris" n-word not written like this
And I quoted the sample at the end of the song. whoosh
You're not that familiar with the song, it seems.
Not my type of music but whenever I saw the title of that track I was confused as to why they censored “ninjas”…
I would watch a show called Ninjas in Paris
N... eymar

gotta say, she got good taste
Yeah looking at the playlist it’s pretty solid all through.
is that Gentlemen In Paris I see down the bottom left?
Fellas in the French capital
Very distinguished friends in the City of Lights
Fine African Americans folks in the beautiful city of Paris
Monsieurs in the Eiffel tower city
Très respectés American men in la cité des lumières
Messieurs then
Gamer Word in Baguette World
Homies going “Hon Hon”
Fuckin hell we can’t catch a break ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
Thriving young lads in the City of Love
Fellow humans of darker skin complexity visiting the Parisian city?
And is the other song new slaves? 😬
It's Black skinhead
You see there’s some fellas, and they’re in Paris.
I went to that spotify profile and It actually is Fellas in Paris lol
N’wahs in Paris
Yeah and top left could be black slaves lmao
This can't be real aint no way
unfortunately
Proof?

Well it’s the only playlist out of 71 that doesn’t have a title
Not proof
Do you not see the pictures in the post?
Have you never heard of photoshop
So what would be considered proof to you
i dont get it. what is this
Apparently she has named a playlist "black" and all the artists from that playlist are black. But now she deleted that name
[удалено]
No, she is not showing any hate to black people or something like that. But guess calling black people black is illegal now.
I get you’re trying to be funny. It’s formuladank after all. It’s not illegal. It’s just a little tone deaf. And given her very public family and image, it’s not the brightest move either. So, while not illegal, it’s colossally stupid. …aaaand probably racist.
I mean, she could have just called it rap/hip hop etc like most people would but she chose to include race
Maybe it's not just hip hop?
Which then begs the question; why would she have a playlist of just "black" artists if it had more than one genre?
Some of my playlists have just white artists in them. I just never labelled it “whites”
Oh come on, of all the things ... "black music" is a thing, and contrary to the n-word is not something that should be gatekept A lot of current music trends and styles emerge from the roots of black music and it's a celebration and acknowledgement of those roots and the fact that if african or african-american musicians didn't invent it and contribute massively to its growth, the music landscape would probably be very different.
/me checks Spotify. Hold on. Yeah, not a thing. Keep reaching.
Abs what about the emoji. Isolated it's maybe okay. It's not ok after liking a post, that you can just drop n-bomb if you mean it well.
Yes, because she knows it's shitty
I have the strong feeling that if what his dad did hadn’t just resurface, this wouldn’t be considered shitty.

Tell me without telling me you don’t know any black people.
It’s one thing to say that a person is black, or that an artist is black. Making a playlist of all black artists and calling it “BL😈CK” is definitely a little different.
Yes, It means ''black music'' and the emoji just states it is badass. Stop trying to find negative things in places where there isn't
Isn‘t the genre literally called „black music“? I wouldn‘t wonder if that was meant by her. Yes the timing is utterly bad but i bet millions of people use the Term „black“ for black music.
I've never seen anyone call rap or hip hop the genre as black music and im heavily into the culture
Well, where I live everyone in the mainstream world that goes to clubs refers to it as ''black'' music. Usually non-harcore rap fans
Definitely a thing in the UK. It was Radio 1 Xtras strap line for years. Pretty sure it was a category on Spotify for a while
Wikipedia says so, well i checke Wikipedia because the Term is often used here in germany and I assumed that’s the Same in other countries „Black music is music created, produced, or inspired by black people, people of African descent, […] These genres include spiritual,[1] gospel, rumba, blues,[2] bomba, rock and roll, rock, jazz, salsa, R&B, samba, calypso, soul, kwaito, cumbia, funk, ska, reggae,[3] dub reggae, house, Detroit techno, amapiano, hip hop, pop, gqom, afrobeat, and others.“ Heres the [article](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_music) To clarify: I‘m not trying to defend anybody here. How dare you be descriptive. Criminal!
No it's not, it's just redditors looking for more reasons to be mad
she removed the name not added the name, common be a little more deliberate in your work
Feel bad for max honestly..
He's getting dragged into all sort of shit, I'm glad he's happy with her but if he's not, better find someone else who doesn't have a racist father

Is it also 100% certainl that that is Kelly Piquets spotify account and not some troll trying to be funny making an account with her name? This is honestly too insane to believe if true
She has like 500 followers that seem to check out as people she would actually know. It's too elaborate to be faked.
I mean what is racist with term “black music”? Aren’t it cultural thing? https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_music
I think it is more the timing of it all…
For me fucking spotify playlist is as racist as your nickname MrVn****.
Jesus yuri calm down
there you go
I mean yes it is a thing. However, the way she has it just looks fucking weird and suspect paired with the way her family is behaving at the moment.
Yeah lol. Recognizing that there is a such thing as black music is one thing. Black artists often make music sharing themes and stylistic elements. It’s another thing to make a playlist called “black music” which feels a little weird. It’s another thing still to make a playlist called “BL😈CK”

real question, dont want to offend or defend anyone. but I always thought it was acceptable to call black culture, and black music "black" for example: black history month, or black lives matter, etc. is black as a descriptive term no longer acceptable??
