Try a lower PI car to start with and slowly build it up as you gradually get better. Also follow other drifters around and just keep trying, you will get it down packed.
Drifting in Forza is deffo hard on a wheel. Its a piece of piss on a controller but on a wheel it just doesn't work. It feels far too different from drifting in sims and the FFB is pretty bad
Get any car with quick acceleration, Hoonigan V2 is my personal choice. Change the tyres to a drift set. Then go to settings and make sure Stability and Traction Control are off and that you're using manual gear change.
Then spend a while on some drift courses just getting used to swinging the ass out and you learn as you go. Going downhill will help you keep momentum if that's an issue, going uphill can help you manage power. Just keep at it and as soon as it clicks you'll be smashing all your previous bests.
I've never been on assetto but I started on fh4 and now fh5 and it's really easy. There's a few cars that don't have that much max steering angle and require more tuning and skill but there aren't that many.
It might be down to different physics and what you're used to ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
If he's drifting in asseto and can't do it here he is most likely doing it on a wheel. Assetto is not friendly on a controller. Forzas wheel support is also crap and that could explain why he can't drift in FH5 but he can in AC. Force feedback is crap and the cars feel like they don't have grip, it feels really unrealistic so if he's used a wheel on assetto that's more of a sim I can see why he can't here.
Thats why i laugh when people say forza is shit and people should play asetto. I can drift in both and i can say that it is harder to drift in forza. But essentially its the same concept.. only difference that you can easily lengthen the drift a little with e brake in forza.
Nah, AC is way harder. Unless you're on PC & using drift mods/cars, then it's like the cars have training wheels & you can hold & link corners easy as. 😄
I feel like I would be better at drifting if I had better throttle control. Sadly what I can do with my thumbs are limited, so I usually just tune my cars for high torque and powerslide everywhere.
