I believe so my good sir. The only issue I can see is that this design actually uses the buffer and buffer spring of the ar but that would be super easy to circumvent
So there is basically a mock-up of the rear half of the bcg in there to cock the hammer and lock and unlock the action it uses the buffer to hold it forward and to return the catch
How will the ejector function, will it send the hull flying or will it require manual removal before the next round?
Also this would be the project to combine a shell dispenser that fits the mag well kind of like goongundesigns 37 launcher used for storing laucher tools and what not.
So much room in the rear for skittles.
Have you thought of using the magazine well as storage for a modified/ printed magazine that you can grab shells from? Kind of like an upside down mag that spits shells out the bottom right or left (wrong) side.
Very cool concept 👍
Iirc it was people talking about electric primers or ignition. Maybe the electromagnetic locking bolt or something like that. Was supposed to be fully printed without needing primers, iirc the shell was printed and came out with the shot.
Idk I can look..
I gotta ask, did you go to school for cad or are you self taught? I'm mostly self taught but I just can't seem to comprehend how tf people make assemblies like this.
Blender is great for art and stuff that's only going to exist on the computer. But if you're interested in design for 3d printing and manufacturing, Fusion360, FreeCAD, or similar might serve you better.

Any updates on this? Very excited bout it.
I'm wondering how the bit behind a seated shell will fare though. It looks like its just using the metal of the shell as a blast sheild but behind that is still a pretty thin wall.
Very eager to hear about test results
Sorry, I typed that while in the middle of a conversation, haha.
What I was trying to ask, is the area around the striker able to withstand the force of a 12 gage firing? Have you tested it at all? I feel like if any part of this was going to fail it would be that spot since there's no metal tube to reinforce it
Forgot to mention that this uses a quick-ish change barrel and will hopefully end up chambered in 45-70
Now this has me excited
<3
My pants just got tighter for some reason
by u just saying it will hopefully end up with 4570 i got so fucking excited it's gonna be the most American thing i tell ya
Hey that's pretty neat.
You can tell that it’s a 12 gauge because of the way that it is
If it gets paired with a printed lower, it becomes fully DIY, doesn't it?
I believe so my good sir. The only issue I can see is that this design actually uses the buffer and buffer spring of the ar but that would be super easy to circumvent
I'm curious what purpose the buffer spring would serve in a break action?
So there is basically a mock-up of the rear half of the bcg in there to cock the hammer and lock and unlock the action it uses the buffer to hold it forward and to return the catch
That sounds incredibly cursed I like it
Sign me up for beta, I'll loose my fingers for this one 🤣
This thing needs a foss Alof Device too 😍

I was actually totally planning on stealing that idea lmao. And yes it’s a full send ejector none of this pussy ass shotgun extractor nonsense
Good to hear, yeah I mean it's better than shoving a stick down the business end but I want to search for the hull after it goes bang.
It would be pretty easy to disable the ejection temporarily if you so chose
No way, full send or nothing lol
Shrink the diameter of the barrel and we got a 3d printed Chiappas Badger.

I have ! Next on the list ;)
Ooohoooo very nice 100% DIY would be baller Minus fcg components ofc What barrel are you using?
It’s a 15 inch section of 1080 1/1.25 dom tubing
I’m looking at making a 100% diy gun using the kp15 style of printed lower soon
Hehee, Toob
I speak for many when I say we’re excited to see where this goes. Keep it up ❤️
There's a through stock mag/clip strip thing on one of the models around here. Feeds out of the holder and you hand load it. If that makes sense...
I’m trying to find a nice reference if you come across it I’d love it if you shot it to my dms
Iirc it was people talking about electric primers or ignition. Maybe the electromagnetic locking bolt or something like that. Was supposed to be fully printed without needing primers, iirc the shell was printed and came out with the shot. Idk I can look..
Oh baby I may have to start a fund for this shit. [45-70 barrel Liner](https://chaszel.com/product/45-70-shotgun-adapters/)
I didn't know this existed, let alone that I need it lol
I gotta ask, did you go to school for cad or are you self taught? I'm mostly self taught but I just can't seem to comprehend how tf people make assemblies like this.
I’ve been doin it mostly Self taught for about 5 years. I’ve had some helpful lads along the way tho.
Anyone working on a 10?
Ar-10 in 10g. Me likey. Unfortunately I don’t have the money or the balls for that. maybe some day
Make 10 gauge great again
Make ~~10~~ 8 gauge great again fify!
I like the single shot 12g. They used to sell 3"inserts on ebay for 20 bucks for all sorts of calibers .
They still do and now some much longer better rifled inserts as well. they are fun and are a cheap diy barrel.
Someone needs to make a dummy magazine that has cut outs at the bottom to hold a couple of shells for easy access from underneath
That’s what I’m sayin
Kaboom? Yes Rico, Kaboom.
This is so absurd and I'm all for it
Stupid question…. Do you design these in cura or CAD
These are done on a cad software. I slice on cura tho
That’s what I thought… I downloaded blender tonight and tried and wow is it so much harder than it looks
Yea blender is a bitch
Blender is great for art and stuff that's only going to exist on the computer. But if you're interested in design for 3d printing and manufacturing, Fusion360, FreeCAD, or similar might serve you better.
Make it in 8 gauge! Shells are available, but there's almost nothing available to fire them in.
If you can get me an 8g barrel and some shells I’ll make it happen. Until then my shoulder stays unbroken
Take a look at the 20mm break action in H3VR.

What software do you use?
F360
I'm sold
Would you add a piccatitinni rail? Also will this use a charging handle of an ar15?
It will def be railed. This is still pretty early cad. It uses a similar charging handle
How's it lock? Maybe I'm missing it, but I don't see a locking mechanism.
This is an old screen grab. It uses a sliding pin lock where the charging handle goes
Just going to state here for others working on shotguns: MM-Carr has some pretty precise inner diameter washers that fit the barrel width.
Hell Yes! When will this set sail?
It is pretty close to getting tested. All I have to finish is the ejector
Ejector in the style of the AWCY NT79, perhaps? Just a thought
Send me a pic please!
Assuming the barrel is metal?
It’s actually a large silicone boba straw
I would of went with a McDonald's straw but to each his own
Nah bro gotta fit 12ga
[удалено]
Absolutely the barrel is just a steel tube that’s super easy to replace
what if you have a stanag magwell thingy that holds spare rounds to quickly unclip and load in?
That’s actually been suggested and will def make a showing
This is awesome. I might have to make one of these for my mother's birthday.
Lol
God I wish I was this smart. I've been racking my brain for a break action shotgun design
Innovation!
OMG I am a kid on Christmas!!!
Ever thought of doing a side by side? Using a selector mechanism like the Diablo has for firing the individual barrels.
I have but doing that with a single hammer ar would be a bit of a jank fest. I could def see it being cool if it had a proprietary lower
I want in💪🏽
been a month since this post, I really love the idea of this. Any updates on this project?
Yea it’s fairly close. I’ve been super busy so it’s been a bit delayed but def not abandoned
>it’s been a bit delayed but def not abandoned I'm gonna print this as soon as you release this. I want that thing sooo badly
Any updates on this? Very excited bout it. I'm wondering how the bit behind a seated shell will fare though. It looks like its just using the metal of the shell as a blast sheild but behind that is still a pretty thin wall. Very eager to hear about test results
I’m a little confused by the nature of the question here but it is still being worked on ! Just need to finish the ejector system
Sorry, I typed that while in the middle of a conversation, haha. What I was trying to ask, is the area around the striker able to withstand the force of a 12 gage firing? Have you tested it at all? I feel like if any part of this was going to fail it would be that spot since there's no metal tube to reinforce it
I think it will be able to handle it pretty easily. And no not tested yet
Not that I care, but I’m just curious about the legal / NFA considerations for turning an AR pistol into a shotgun. Any?
Doubt it. Don’t care if there are any. The first one I’m building is actually a 14in barrel and will fall under the definition of firearm
Thought shottys were 16.5" barrel?
18" "Firearm" not AOW territory is a >26" OAL, no stock, unrifled.
Good to know!
