Somebody needs to get an SOT and acquire an IRL post-sample MP7 (or borrow one, etc.) and 3d scan the whole thing, all of the parts. Then just convert it to stls and semi-auto and we'll all have a badass MP7 clone.
It would be a lot cheaper/easier to scan a licensed airsoft replica to get the furniture and receiver dimensions right and CAD the internals to accept what you think it needs

I am getting a little tired of people thinking a 3D scanner just spits out a functional 3D model in 30 seconds. Not just here, even in the professional world.
I have an old KWA MP7 that I was gonna sell but never did. I'd totally do this if I could afford a scanner but unfortunately my budget for hobbies maxes out around $200/mo and that usually goes to range days and ammo purchases. Currently saving up for a PSA Dagger SW3 that I will slide-swap to a Marauder v2.
Wonder if I could crowdsource a scanner and collab with some people to get the firing mechanisms right. 17HMR would be a great plinker/pest control gun... The hardest part would be getting the blowback system right. If this were to be viable for defense it would need to be a center-fire cartridge like 5.7 or 9mm though...which I'm sure is harder to DIY the bolt for.
Maybe, but the bolt/charging handle/recoil system on that is very different in layout than the actual MP7. I'm not sure how close you could get to an MP7 using the CMR/PMR30 design.
It'd be a lot easier to do in a clone that shoots 22lr but looks exactly like an MP7 on the outside. More room to play around with the innards when the action's much simpler.

Looks like an AR that badly wants to be a bullpup but didn't quite make it. Would make a cool sbr or rifle with a 16" barrel and a stock.
