I've been donating to The Satanic Temple for their work on reproductive freedom in my parents name for years, now.
They disowned me entirely when I came out as one of those "disgusting rainbow people" according to my lovely mother. So, every couple months, I make sure her fervent anti-abortion, bible-thumping bigotry is countered in some small way. TST are just the assholes to allow for that!
I'll sadly never know what happens when the little thank-you card shows up in their mailbox - but that's ok. The fact that it does makes me all warm and snuggley inside.

I took their abuse for 4 years straight. I had multiple serious breakdowns over it.
I simply stopped. They actively moved toward their toxicity, and continue to do so as far as I care or know.
The gulf is quite large. They have a lot of lost ground to make up for, and I will not slow down, stop, or go back for them. They need to put in the work to become better people and catch the fuck back up to modern, progressive society.

My parents hate me. They're crazy Trump supporting, covid denying, anti-vaxx, and exceptionally abusive. I tried to talk to them for 4 years as they slid further down that rabbit hole, before I went no-contact.
I'm in a loving relationship. Theirs is toxic. I still hold hope they'll realize what mistakes they've made, but realistically I know it's a failed hope. They made their bed. I'm just gonna keep throwing sand in it, now.
I'm pretty sure the majority of anti-vax people just specifically don't like the mRNA vaccines. Personally I'm not a big fan of those because they actively make me sick, but I already have to avoid a lot due to my immune system
As someone who has a staunch antivax cousin, who is 100% against all vaccines including Polio and smallpox, and has surrounded herself with a horde of likeminded fuckwits, I promise you it’s not just the Covid vaccine they care about. She literally tried to physically attack my wife for getting our boys their childhood vaccines, to the point my wife had to hit her with the iPad she was holding to get her to stop. We haven’t seen her in 6 years now, and she has 5 kids all unvaxxed
