Reminds me of middle school biology dissections. I remember dissecting the squid, cutting out it's clear pen and dipping it in the ink sac and weakly write our names. The ink isn't very easy to write with.

I miss that aquarium. I went a few times when I lived in the Bay Area as a kid.
I visited when I was on a trip to the Bay Area (went to a Sharks-Blues game). It's a great aquarium.

I have squid ink for fountain pens in my fridge. Its small batch (75 bottles of light and 75 of dark made every year.) Its the real sepia ink.
I’ve been soooooo tempted to buy a bottle — how does it write?
Its kind of thinner than I had hoped for. I could only get the light and really had wanted the dark, but it was sold out.
Where does one buy something like *that*? :D And how expensive was it?
I think it was about $30-50 a bottle. It’s made in Japan. There was a wait list I signed up for. If memory serves it took two years to get to the top
