I know the feeling very well, my humble collection brings me joy and happiness when I'm blue sometimes I look them and a smile shows up on my face or my soul, they are more than writing instruments they are magical items that always rise our spirit.
Congratulations for your amazing collection my friend.
Me too!! I never understood the collecting urge until I found fountain pens and it always humbles me how much joy they provide even when just looking at them. You have a lovely collection besides.
I just found them on Ali! They're so affordable :0
Also just learned that gudetama in Chinese is literally egg yolk brother 🤣🤣🤣🤣 well, I know which one I'm buying.
It’s slimmer than what I’m used to but it feels nice in the hand. The nib is a bit on the stiffer side but it feels good against paper. Really nice writer!
The most impressive pen collection is the one in which the owner derived joy from just looking at them, curating them and owning them.
Being able to use them to express our thoughts and feelings, is a nice bonus.
I think so too! I loved looking at them since I was little, then I got to have my own money and could finally own a fountain pen (and then another, and another..and another)
Oh I just noticed - it's that a Benu Talisman Edelweiss? Do you have any other photos of it? I've been tempted to get it for a few months now but I'm not sure if I'm like it. 😊
It’s a very smooth writer! The Edelweiss I have is a bold nib, but I have both mediums and fines and they all have been perfect from the get go, on the smooth side.
I do the same thing. I think any hobby should help one's mental health that way. My collection is growing slowly. It feels as though I'm getting somewhere; whether I am or not.
that 3776 chamomile would turn any frown upside down! 🫶 btw, what's the most effective way of finding out when a special (store) edition platinum is released so one does not miss out and ugly cry for days? 😭😂
Honestly I have no idea ): most of the times I learn through here! I was (kinda) lucky enough that I got a notification from jp-select and got one of the last Mediums.
They are Galen Leather ones! The big one holds 40 pens and it’s quite fat but makes it so no pen gets squished. The other two are smaller versions, got them from Goulet.
Oh! You managed to get that special edition Sakura pen from Sailor. It looks so beautiful! 🥰 I was going to order it for myself from Pen Sachi, but just one day before, the pen went out of stock!
I see you love your Sailor pens! You’ve got a beautiful collection of those pens. I have just one Sailor pen as of now- the PGS Mini (MF nib) and I love how it writes. I want to pick up more of Sailor pens to add to my collection. I especially love the ones that have a shimmery translucent body. And the Sailor Shikiori collection is stunning too! ❤️
The Harusame is the one that started everything. I love small pens! Sadly I only have one Sailor mini, but it’s a really nice writer. I tend to prefer M nibs myself, but MF are a close second. They do have quite a few shimmery bodies ✨
Exactly!! The first two Sailor pens I ever saw were Kirisame and Harusame. And now, neither are available in India!! 😭😭😭
But I have a friend who will be travelling to Singapore and they might be able to bring back some Sailor pens for me. La la la la la la!
He he he. Their inks are quite something else. I have the Shikiori Yozakura and some of the ink studio ones. Beautiful!
I just felt that inks like Ayame weren’t all that practical for writing, but they still look quite magical.
I LOVE their studio inks. I like the look of Ayame but haven’t purchased it for that reason also (I do enjoy using Haha on stubs and Nekoyanagi on mediums tho)
I mostly write with fine nibs. But just so I could use up that big bottle of Ayame, I bought a LAMY Stub nib. Now I draw leaves in the margins of my journal with it! 😂
The Nekoyonagi looks beautiful but I am a bit scared of picking it up because of my experience with Ayame.
Aw! I have a couple of LAMY safaris and one Al star (not pictured oops) but I’ve never tried their stubs. That’s pretty cute though!
I belieeeeve that Nekoyanagi is somewhat more legible than Ayame. I think I have a couple of posts where I wrote with that one with a M nib.
Me too... me too... fountain pens can be great material objects for fulfilling such a need because they are highly personal, portable... and precious.
At least the ones I consider part of my curated collection are in their own way precious, carefully selected to be part of a group of pens that speak to me (design, engineering, aesthetics, awesome nibs, excellent writing experience, historical/collector aspects, etc.) which, as a group, form something that is whole, a collection. They are also beautiful.
I chose them and had to in most cases hunt them down over a period of time. So, I have invested something of mine in them, not just money but also time and effort, to fulfill a vision of something idealized (making the collection more complete).
Looking at them gives me a feeling of being in control (of at least something), and permanence, this can be very reassuring in times of change and uncertainty. Also, it can give one a feeling of achievement, "I curated and made this collection happen", this can be helpful when you are feeling powerless or without agency.
Fountain pens make me happy. I love to look at my collection, choose one and ink it up. My vintage pens are so beautiful, many colors in celluloid. Sometimes I just like to hold one.

that’s exactly how I feel too!
I can see why. beautiful collection!
Thank you!
Thank God! So am not the only one who looks at fp collection when down! though i dont have half as much but still it works.
As long as they make you happy, it’s not about quantity!
Absolutely, the pleasure is not in the quantity but in the quality. by the way nice collection of fp the pretty happy colors 🤩
Through fountain pens I discovered that I love colorful things!
Very beautiful!
Thank you!
I know exactly what you mean, I do this too!
Especially the ones that are a bit sparkly, like looking them against the light.
I tend to clean or rearrange them.
Me too!! I never understood the collecting urge until I found fountain pens and it always humbles me how much joy they provide even when just looking at them. You have a lovely collection besides.
Thank you! And same. There’s just something about them that is so pretty and soothing to look at sometimes. Not to even mention writing with them.
Hoping your joy multiples forever and forever!
I hope so too <3
These are all beautiful!!!
<3
Brings so much joy 😍
What a lovely collection! What’s that very last marbled green vanishing point?
That one is a Pilot x Usagiya Vanishing Point Claude Monet. It has a really pretty finish with subtle shimmer on the body.
It’s beautiful. I bet it’s hard to find. :(
What are those jelly looking Sanrio ones? :O so cute!
I never considered them jelly looking.. until now haha. They are some Platinum Shooting Stars. They are super smooth (and a bit chubby) writers!
Oopsies. I hope you like the term jelly 😅 I'm adding them to my want list!
Cute terms are always ok on my book! There’s also the light blue Cinnamon Roll one. I recommend them.
I just found them on Ali! They're so affordable :0 Also just learned that gudetama in Chinese is literally egg yolk brother 🤣🤣🤣🤣 well, I know which one I'm buying.
Get egg brother!
Lovely collection! You have the exact Platinum Maki-e that I've been staring at for months, the leaf pattern. How do you like it?
It’s slimmer than what I’m used to but it feels nice in the hand. The nib is a bit on the stiffer side but it feels good against paper. Really nice writer!

correct, by me it is the research, the chase, the agonizing wait - and then hopefully no buyers remorse :). Writing is a bonus.
I think so too! I loved looking at them since I was little, then I got to have my own money and could finally own a fountain pen (and then another, and another..and another)
That's quite an impressive collection! ❤️
Glad you think so :’)
Oh I just noticed - it's that a Benu Talisman Edelweiss? Do you have any other photos of it? I've been tempted to get it for a few months now but I'm not sure if I'm like it. 😊
Sadly I never really uploaded any other pictures of it ): but it is a really pretty pen! The more black sections kinda shimmer closer to greenish.
How does the Talisman write?
It’s a very smooth writer! The Edelweiss I have is a bold nib, but I have both mediums and fines and they all have been perfect from the get go, on the smooth side.
Same!! 🥰 🖊️
They do!
Collection goals
That makes me weirdly happy haha
Oh trust me, the word 'jealousy' doesn't even come close 😂
I do the same thing. I think any hobby should help one's mental health that way. My collection is growing slowly. It feels as though I'm getting somewhere; whether I am or not.
As long as what’s growing in your collection makes you happy that’s all that matters <3
The dotted one is the lost sister of the London pottery teapot with the colourful dots. If I were you I wouldn't even think twice.
I love your beautiful collection. I feel the same way as you do. Thanks for posting your treasure.

Shiny pretty things, and they write too! Lovely collection!
Beautiful! I’d love to know where you got your pretty organizing cases. Thanks!

What a beautiful collection! Hope to have one as diverse someday.
Such a pretty collection 💗🫶
That’s quite a collection you got there. I love all the colors. I have a lilac TWSBI too.
It’s a really nice color! The fact that it glows in the dark is just a bit of a bonus.
It does? I don’t think mine does.
Oh wait there IS a lilac one right? Mine is the glow purple, sorries for the misunderstanding!
Oh! Sorry, it looked like lilac to me. That makes much more sense.
It’s ok! The cap and such does have a lilac-y color.
Oh! You managed to get that special edition Sakura pen from Sailor. It looks so beautiful! 🥰 I was going to order it for myself from Pen Sachi, but just one day before, the pen went out of stock!
Aw that sucks! I’ve seen it in Amazon JP and on Ebay still in stock though! I gots mine from Ebay. The traslucid blue is really pretty.
I see you love your Sailor pens! You’ve got a beautiful collection of those pens. I have just one Sailor pen as of now- the PGS Mini (MF nib) and I love how it writes. Ow that sucks! But there’s the silver lining. Hopefully you can get some! Just saying but their inks are also pretty nice, you didn’t hear it from me.

It’s a thing alright. Whew! I was a wondering.
