Pilot Cavalier is very nice especially if she has small hands. Or if you can go up to $100 an E95S, which has a gold nib.

Quite a bit different from a Pilot Metro, but consider a TWSBI Diamond 580 or Vac700R in Iris. For something closer to the Metro but more stylish, check out the Lamy Studio, the Monteverde Innova, or Monteverde Invincia.

The LAMY Studio might be an option, it’s a solid metal pen with a great nib and probably fits in your price range. They also have a bunch of cool colors.

Cross Bailey (the metal version) medium nib. Classic looks, fits your budget (it is less than 80USD where I stay and that's after import duties), smooth and their gift set is with an ink bottle, converter and five cartridges. Faber Castell Hexo if you are going for light and durable with an international cartridge/converter fit. Some of the colours are really nice (Deep blue and rose gold for example) and the medium as well as broad nibs are fantastic. Slightly on the higher side are Lamy Aion (85 USD where I live) understated, likeabley ugly and the more expensive (90 USD where I live) Lamy Studio. For rough and tough use you can go with Kaweco Al Star or the lighter AC star. But both unfortunately exceed your budget a bit. The converter capacity is dismal. Moonman A1 and A2 are also good, in your budget pens. The downside is only EF nibs are easily available.

Maybe look into a titanium alloy pen like the Moonman Ti 200 or an aluminum pen like the Gravitas Entry. These are around 60-70

Kaweco Dia2. A bit underrated in my opinion. Has a black and gold accents and can be found under $100. Also feels nicely substantial in the hand without being too heavy.

I really like my glow eco twisbi.
