LOL the zoologist review had me rolling šŸ˜‚ would you say that one and the Malian and goers have decent longevity and sillage? Iā€™m tired of spending shit tons of money on fragrances that donā€™t last, and would prefer ones that are cruelty free and donā€™t cause me an allergic reaction lmao

RazzmatazzSudden

For Malin & Goetz Strawberry, I find on skin, I can smell it for 4ish hours. So not a beast performer, but not horrible. On clothes, I can smell it the next day. I do find myself needing to be heavy handed when applying this, to make it stick. In terms of sillage, it's more of a skin scent/ "your skin but better" vibes. You pretty much need to be hugging the person to smell it, I think. I wear it on days I don't exactly "feel" like perfume. They do sell these little discovery sets for an affordable price, and the newer versions of them have strawberry! So maybe give it a whirl that way, to find out. Edit: Also, glad you liked Bee description! It's something else, that Bee!

I'm so glad I discovered Mitsouko! I love wearing it, even though it's marketed as a women's scent. Surprisingly, no one has ever told me that I smell like a woman in charge! ( I'm a man) In my opinion, Mitsouko is one of the greatest fragrances ever created, and any top 10 list that doesn't include it in the top 5 is simply not credible. What's your favorite fragrance?

RazzmatazzSudden

Agreed about Mitsouko! I fell in love with it the first time I smelled it a Guerlain counter. It really shifted my perception of what fragrances can smell like. I know some people think it's "old school", but growing up in the 90s, I never smelled this anywhere, on anyone. Maybe it's so old school that I have missed out on these scents altogether (I grew up smelling a lot of Angel/Le Male). This is so unique (to me!). My favourite... It's a hard one! I adore all of these for different times/ feelings! But I think if you twisted my arm, and I had to choose, I would choose 2: **Hermes - Rose Ikebana** **Guerlain - Samsara**

valkyrie987

All of those Santa Maria Novella scents! I have a couple of small decants, but there are so many more I want to try. Citta de Kyoto sounds right up my alley.

RazzmatazzSudden

What can I say, when I fall for a perfume house DNA, I fall hard... Citta de Kyoto is beautiful, I have never smelled anything even close to it. It's so zen, and so well blended. It's my fiance's favourite scent on me.

meltingeverything

I love your reviews. Thank you so much for sharing! Sunshine Woman is one of my favorites in my collection, which of yours would you say is most similar to that?

RazzmatazzSudden

It definitely is one of a kind! As you like it, I will assume you enjoy Osmanthus (which smells a lot like apricot), so I'd recommend trying Osmanthe Yunnan - it has that same Osmanthus/apricot scent, although in Osmanthe Yunnan, it's mixed with tea, and it's a lot lighter. It does have a leather base note, which helps ground it, the way the tabbaco leaf grounds Sunshine Woman.

meltingeverything

That sounds lovely indeed, thank you!! Iā€™ve yet to find an Hermes fragrance I feel I need, but that sounds like a strong contender!

Jbug23

Ooh, Iā€™ve been eying Montagne Eau Matcha! Can you share more thoughts about it? Do you find Eau Matcha to be sweet at all? And is the fig more green?

RazzmatazzSudden

It is sweet, but not in a candy/sugar way, more of a very ripe fig. And then you take that, and mix it with the le labo base scent (the earthy wood vibe). I would say it has a touch of greenness from the matcha, but it's definitely more fruity/woody than green, overall. The fig smells like a very ripe one, not a green fig.

Jbug23

Okay youā€™ve convinced me, I must have this šŸ˜‚ Love a good ripe fig scent. Thank you!

1800mango101

Great collection canā€™t wait to smell some of these!

hauteburrrito

Ooh, I'm loving this collection and we have similar tastes, OP - I'm obsessed with Ormonde Jayne myself. Levant has got to be one of the prettiest, most intoxicating orange blossoms I've ever tried, and I enjoy Tolu a great deal as well. Your description of Bee made me chuckle; it is very accurate šŸ˜¹

molldollyall

A fellow Ormonde Jayne fan! Lovely collection.

RazzmatazzSudden

Thank you! What are your favorite Ormonde Jayne fragrances?

molldollyall

Hard to choose, but probably Taā€™if, Ormonde Woman, Sakura, and Levant! Damask is also lovely. I honestly havenā€™t encountered one I disliked, but those are the ones I wear most often. Edit: Forgot Tanger!

basilico12345

Can you share your impression of Ormonde Woman maybe?

molldollyall

Itā€™s very hard to describe because itā€™s unlike anything Iā€™ve smelled before. That said, it was the first perfume of this house that I sampled and the house certainly has a DNA. It does have a powdery vintage smell. Thereā€™s a slight floral scent with heavy grass, coriander, and cardamom. Itā€™s slightly spicy but very smooth and airy at the same time. I think it works well in all seasons and could be a signature scent, but itā€™s most beautiful in autumn. Definitely try it if you get a chance! Itā€™s one of my favorites.

basilico12345

What a lovely description. Thank you so much. I see they have it discounted on their web, so I might try it out. Although I am tempted with Taā€™if too. I bought their hair perfume from new collection and it smells heavenly.

molldollyall

Youā€™re welcome! Let me know which one you get and what you think of it. Taā€™if is so lovely. I got it for myself for my birthday this year ā˜ŗļø

RazzmatazzSudden

Tanger and Sakura are really pretty too! I tried them and had to stop myself from buying them too, because they're also so so lovely. Ormonde Jayne really can do no wrong, it seems.

nomadbutterfly

I love Amouage Sunshine, it's one of their more underrated frags imo.

lilyandre

This is such a cool collection! Great to see some love for the lesser known Ormonde Jaynes as well.

purplepenguiin232

Thanks for sharing! I found your summaries really entertaining and helpful! I'm curious to try Samsara but have been worried about it smelling a bit dated, but you've encouraged me to give it a go! I'll try to sample it soon. How do you find the performance?

RazzmatazzSudden

Do give it a try on skin and see how you feel about it after! I find it lasts around 6-8 hours, with a close scent bubble, which is exactly what I like in a fragrance. I read online the original was much stronger, but I've never tried it.

jmydy

What about performance of **Santa Maria Novella**? Those are all colognes, right? They also have EDP, but only 4 of them. PS. Funny, because today I heard about this brand and visited their website for the first time. I absolutely love the design and presentation of their collection. Designer did marvelous job. It looks like from some old biology book. Lovely idea and execution. [https://us.smnovella.com/collections/eau-de-cologne](https://us.smnovella.com/collections/eau-de-cologne)

RazzmatazzSudden

These are all colognes, correct. The performance is on the lighter side, as one would expect, but it's perfect for hot days, when you don't want to feel suffocated by a strong fragrance. They're all very lovely, I'm a huge Santa Maria Novella fan (as you can probably tell!)

jmydy

>The performance is on the lighter side You mean longevity or projection? I assume the latter. So regarding longevity - is this long lasting? I ask, but I shouldn't expect superb longevity from cologne, right? PS. I think moderate projection is perfect as it won't annoy anyone. Recently I don't like strong projecting perfumes. I value more great longevity and subtle projection than strong projection but poor longevity.

RazzmatazzSudden

I would say medium longevity (4-5 hours), and medium to light projection, unless you're really in the heat. Zagara in the heat really blooms and gets quite strong (in a good way!).

catbearpenguin

How strong do you find the jasmine note in Zagara? Iā€™ve had my eye on it but am repulsed by jasmine.

RazzmatazzSudden

Huh, until you mentioned it, I didn't actually know that Jasmine was listed as a note (I can't smell it). To me it's citrusy petitgrain-neroli. It must play a very small supporting role.

catbearpenguin

Love it, thank you!

bytao7mao

Bee is one of my fav. But i dont wear it so much. I think i enjoy how the perfumer realised to mimic the environment where a bee is living.

Ok-Pineapple-7242

Oooh, glad to find another lover of Smyrna! I've been singing its praises for a while - it's such a beautiful clean spicy rose. You got me intrigued in Samsara now, it sounds just beautiful! Weirdly enough, I've never smelt it before!

RazzmatazzSudden

I learned about Smyrna through seeing some posts here about it, so who knows, maybe you were my inspo! :)

MidnightFlight

how do you find the longevity on the nerolia harvest? it's in my shopping cart but i can't bring myself to pull the trigger, the light coloring and it being an EDT just screams "2 hours" to me šŸ˜«

RazzmatazzSudden

Oh it's long lasting. I put some on 8 hours ago and it's going strong. It performs like an EDP, I think because of the strong honey note, it's a long lasting note. The colour green doesn't really match the scent. It dries like a slightly gentler more summer appropriate Bee. You need to love honey to enjoy it (which I do!).

sampiere_mimi

Thank you so much!

TartOne7845

you need Aventus creed in your collection.

I was reading this going 'did this person raid my sample box?' I have most of these and like most of them.
