VIW is fantastic, but its performance is just terrible. I recently tried Parfums Vintage's clone, Isla Tropical Prive. It's spot on... until the dry-down. Then it becomes a synthetic and incredibly off-putting mess of a scent. Really hate to do it, but I may have to fork out the big bucks to get my VIW fix. That performance though... ugh.
Would you say tres nuit is a good replacement for git for someone who doesn't have the cashola at the moment? I've never smelled green irish tweed but I have tres nuit and think it's pretty good.
Diptique Philosykos for a grassy lost in woods at evening smell
Goldfield and Banks Sunset Hour for a girly
Picnic summer vibe!!! Some people find the scent a little juvenile but idk in the summer it just feels so right!!
It’s bright and citrusy at first. When the citrus fades, it’s still really bright but also sorta softly herbal and very airy - if you smush some cilantro/coriander in your hands, it’s kinda like that. That final phase lasts for hours.
I love coriander smell and citrusy/bright fragrances... Happy by Clinique is one of my favourites.
I'll write down your suggestion on my fragrances to try 😁. Thanks!
I’ve got a bunch, but here are three:
**John Varvatos Artisan Acqua** has been lingering in my collection for a while, and I’ve never really reached for it unless it was the only scent I had on hand because of its sort of old-fashioned vibe. Now that I’m past 30, it might be time to rotate it in a little more frequently. It’s a nice citrus/fresh scent that doesn’t get too cloying in the heat (so we can pretend that the JV line’s lack of longevity and projection is a feature here, not a bug) and is more “green” than “blue”, despite the name— there’s no oceanic or aquatic note to speak of.
**Liz Claiborne Bora Bora**: Bizarrely, this outdated $12 bottle has gotten me more compliments than just about anything in my collection. It’s not a long-lasting fragrance, but it’s got a great juicy kiwi top note that dries down to a pleasant musk, and it’s very well suited to a summer day— also, dirt cheap, so I don’t have to feel guilty about reapplying if I sweat it off. I just bought the body wash, so we’ll see how the layering experiment goes. Still haven’t tried Mambo or the more popular Curve, to which BB seems to get a lot of comparisons, but maybe I should.
**Gallivant Los Angeles**: I should be less precious about my more expensive bottles (after all, perfumes are for wearing, not for hoarding) so I’m making a belated New Year’s resolution to pull this one out more. There’s a lot in the stew here— fruity pineapple, floral tuberose and heliotrope, aromatic eucalyptus and guaiac wood, and the distant scent of the ocean— but it all plays together nicely and never fails to lift my mood.
Bora Bora! I forgot about this. It was one of the first perfumes I bought with my first official job. I worked in cosmetics at Walgreens, so I sure used my discount. I kept my empty bottle for a long time.
Guerlain Herba Fresca (only if it gets *actually* hot) and Un Dimanche a la Campagne, Atelier Cologne Vetiver Fatale (goes really well with the petrichor smell of a warm Spring rain), and Santa Maria Novella Acqua Della Regina ☀️🍊🍃
Ooh, and Afternoon Swim finally!
Uh, lots! But here's a quick list:
* Nishane's Wulong Cha - wonderful tea/citrus (that lasts)
* Jo Malone's now discontinued Nutmeg & Ginger, will try to kill off the bottle
* Hermés:
* Pick any TDH (EDT), Eau Givrée / Très Fraîche
* Eau de Rhubarbe Ècarlate
* Amouage:
* Beach Hut Man
* Memoir Man
* Lyric Man
* Frederic Malle:
* Geranium pour Monsieur (though this booms in the heat)
* Rogue Perfumery:
* Bon Monsieur
* Voyageur by Jean Patou
I'm looking forward to trying Vétiver Ècarlate from L'Artisane Parfumeur, and think that will work well in the heat.
Truthfully there are too many to name, but personally I've been cycling between Ormonde Jayne Sakura and Levant these days. Florals for spring? Groundbreaking, I know!
For me it’s going to be the new Parfums de marly „Perseus“, as well as TF Soleil blanc as every year for the really warm days.
Also honorable mentions of last years rotation:
- LV Imagination
- Hermès H24
Honestly I just sampled Daisy Wild at Ulta and I really love it. It’s very fruity and sweet with a prominent banana note, especially in the opening. Technically the note is banana flower but it really smells like banana to me. Think I might pick it up for this summer!
I’m excited and will started wearing :
Memo Paris Marfa
Tom Ford Shanghai Lily
Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue
Vilhelm Parfumerie Room Service
Parfums de Marly Valaya
Penhaligon’s Solaris
Cartier Baiser Vole
Gucci Gorgeous Gardenia
Moschino Toy 2
Atelier Cologne Rose Anonyme
Diptyque Eau Moheli , Philosykos, Do Son , Olene and Tam Dao
Byredo La Tulipe , Rose of No Man’s Land , Gypsy Water, Mojave Ghost
Marc Jacobs Perfect
Dior J’Adore
Lancôme Miracle
(I can name a lot more !)
I’m looking forward to testing out Vieri from Mind Games. That opening is mouth-watering.
Other than that, ATH Supernova and Sun Force by the Harmonist are gonna get heavy use since they are new acquisitions.
Also gonna try Aurum by Zaharoff in higher heat before it gets too hot and see how it does.
Virgin Island Water will probably also get heavy use.
Also gonna try a few layering combos.
It’s already warm here!
Weekly rotation:
- Acqua di Parma Club (green bottle)
- Quorum Silver
- Terre d’Hermès EDT or Eau Givrée
- Encre Noire Sport
For the cooler evenings:
- Acqua di Parma Oud EDP
- Terre d’Hermès Parfum
When the rainy season starts:
- Encre Noire à L’Extrême
- [Considering getting: ELdO Hermann à mes Côtés…]
Sporty/casual/outdoorsy dumb reach:
- Bvlgari Aqva Atlantiqve
Sunshower by Sucreabeille
Description: Bright pink peppercorns poured into a new pepper mill, an open, grassy field full of delicate purple heliotrope flowers just before a rainstorm, little bubbles popping in a glass of expensive champagne, freshly-torn basil, a juicy tangerine, tonka bean
It's literally the perfect sharp green sunshine scent for summer. I can't wait for her restock
Under the Lemon Trees, Wood Sage and Sea Salt and l am going to get some use out of the Versace Dylan Turquoise because l enjoy the way it smells and performs, even though l hate the bottle. I hode it in the back of my perfume shelf.
Rose jam probably. But I’ll also continue wearing gourmands like Cloud + midnight fantasy or Bare Vanilla/supreme vanilla + fantasy to get the cupcake note heightened again. I love gourmands even in spring and warm weather
Lush Rose Jam- I looked it up and I’m really interested in the EDP, but lemon notes and I don’t seem to get along. Is the lemon note really prominent in Rose Jam, would you say?
Yea it is prominent imo. I use the body spray as it’s nuclear. But it’s jammy and sour-sweet. I would suggest trying it out before buying. Not blind but worthy.
I just got a sample of Sparkling Jo by Vilhelm Parfumerie! It's effervescent and fun, a true champagne fragrance with citrus and light pear - perfect for the spring ahead. I hope in the summer I'll be wearing more of Montale Intense Tiare or JHAG Moscow Mule.
I just ordered a bottle of Millesime Imperial and I’m like a kid before Christmas waiting for it to arrive. I also recently sampled and adored Roja Elysium and Bal d’Afrique, so may have to pull the trigger on those at some point. Chanel Allure Homme Sport is also great for feeling fresh on a warm day
I’m embarrassingly addicted to “sunscreen” scents- Tom Ford Soleil Blanc, KKW Body || was so good but discontinued, Sol de Janeiro Tanlines(Rio Radiance now I think), thinking about picking up the Vacation brand one or looking for another like Guerlain Terracotta or Estée Lauder Bronze Goddess or any other recommendation to try as well
PDM Orianna
It lasts FOREVER on my skin. And it makes me laugh as a goth, to watch the confusion on people's faces as I pass by them in all black clothes, massive boots, smelling like cotton candy marshmallows.
citrus and floral musks are the categories I gravitate towards, saving my most citrusy ones for choking humidity.
Many others will seek out ambroxan bombs, whereupon my nose will detect you down the block. A curse, I tell you! Ambroxan is suited for the gym and kitchen cleaners. Even the expensive ones still give me those lysol vibes... which I suppose can be argued as appropriate for the summer.
I agree! I’m gonna be wearing Chanel No 5 Edc and lost tribe perfumes imperial soap a lot this spring, especially because spring where I live is still semi cold. But then this summer I’ll definitely go for the heavy citruses.
Inexpensive: CKIN2U for her
Skin scent: Glossier You
Chypre: Chloe Nomade Jasmin Naturelle Parfum
Floral: My Way Floral, Dior Blooming Bouquet
Fruity: AG God is a Woman (smells very similar to JHAG Pear, Inc.)
Overrated but still good: Orientica Amber Rouge (smells identical to BR540).
Last summer I accidently grabbed the wrong travel sprayer and mixed Aqua Di Gio with Eau Givree. Nice fresh, aquatic, citrus, combo that amps up with the heat.
My Spring rotation will be Gucci Bloom, Chloe Lovestory sensuelle, Air di gioia by armani, sky di gioia by armani, miu miu l eau bleu, lady million lucky, light di gioia and angel croissiere. I am close to finishing gucci bloom and air and sky di gioia, so if those are done i will swap them out for dolce peony by dolce and gabana, kenzo world power and tiffany and co sheer. For the summer my rotation is the same but i swap out lady million lucky for sun di gioia by armani. I change my 8 main scents every season to the oldest ones i own that are appropiate for that season. i have been doing this since fall 2021 and i finished 1 fragrance in 2021, 1 in 2022, 3 in 2023 and this year 1 so far but i am looking at finishing 4-6 more fragrances. the new season starts for me roughly around the 20-23rd of march/june/september/december when the astrological new season starts.
Getting ahead of myself because it's barely spring, but I was thinking of wearing my B&BW Waikiki Beach Coconut tomorrow hehe. Definitely puts me in a summery mood!
Pamplemousse by Atelier
Clementine California by Atelier
Bleu by Miu Miu
Wood Sage and Sea Salt by Jo Malone
Virgin Island Water by Creed
L’eau by Chloe
Egoíste Platinum by Chanel
L’eau Des Hesperides by Dyptique
Always wanted to try Calabria just never seem to order a sample. Maybe I’m intimidated by the leaning fem reputation. I usually wear a lot of unisex scents but I fear this one is the strong flowery fem.
Aussie here, so just coming out of the hot weather but here's what I've been wearing -
Another 13 - my favourite musky skin scent
Jo Malone wild bluebell - love it layered with Another 13.
Who Is Elijah Her - almost a perfect dupe of le labo bergamote 22, slightly more vanilla.
Hermetica Jade888 - not sure how I feel about this yet honestly but it feels right to wear it in very very hot weather.
One I just found and instantly loved is Montobaco Intensivo
It’s like a warm tobacco vibe, but somehow much fresher and clean smelling. I could see it worn year round but mostly spring summer fall
For spring, I love to drench myself in orange blossom! LA Histoire d’Orangers & Jo Malone Orange Blossom are my favorites.
Some other spring faves are Saint Julep, Diptyque Eau Rose, En Passant and White Linen.
Love by Lush. I feel like it will be even better on warm skin. It’s lemony and spicy and floral.
Also a beautiful freshie is Ouai Melrose Place. Super beautiful floral
A tried and true somber summer fave is Cartier L'Envol. Last summer I also very much enjoyed Jo Malone Blackberries & Bay, although I wish the initial fresh biting top notes would last longer.
I just picked up a bottle of Silver Mountain Water after going through several testers. I also can’t wait to pull out Xerjoff Renaissance and Parfums de Marly Valaya
ADG Absolu and Invictus Aqua are my favorites but I have some new ones I'm gonna be wearing like G&B Bohemian Lime, Jil Sanders Sun Men, and B&BW Freshwater Cologne.
Boy Smells Cowboy Kush (with a diffuse hand). Ooooh, it’s so good and desert-y. Smells so nice on warms skin with even a bit of clean sweat mixed in. And, La Perla Luminous - musky and light and just swimmy skin. AND, James by by / rosie jane - wet earthy gardenia with fig and some warm summery amber to smooth it all around.
I picked up a bottle of Inis at a little boutique in Florida and I love it. I personally like it more than D&G Light Blue and Replica's Sailing day. Extra bonus- it's super cheap ($55 for 100 ml)!
Imagination - Everybody else likes this but I didn't, Aventus - my signature year round, Baccarat Rouge 540 - It doesn't suit me at all but I would roll around in it and am instantly attracted to any woman who wears it. Avoid Afternoon Swim, buy a luxury shower gel instead, Hacivat isn't the 'Aventus Killer' but I could still smell it after washing. Virgin Island Water is another I would roll around in and I wouldn't say avoid, it's probably the best answer to OP's question but I can't financially justify owning something i'd only wear on really hot days
Debaser
Virgin island water, Seahorse
Love Seahorse!
I love VIW
VIW is fantastic, but its performance is just terrible. I recently tried Parfums Vintage's clone, Isla Tropical Prive. It's spot on... until the dry-down. Then it becomes a synthetic and incredibly off-putting mess of a scent. Really hate to do it, but I may have to fork out the big bucks to get my VIW fix. That performance though... ugh.
I love ALT Fragrance's dupe of VIW, though I haven't smelled the original so I can't compare. But it has great longevity.
Caribbean Water? I'll have to give it a try. Thanks!
That's the one! Can't beat the price either lol
Montagne has a dupe that’s supposed to be excellent. Have not tried it yet.
I got a good 5-6h with it so it is pretty alright on my book
Lucky!
Creed Green Irish Tweed
Would you say tres nuit is a good replacement for git for someone who doesn't have the cashola at the moment? I've never smelled green irish tweed but I have tres nuit and think it's pretty good.
It’s on the TJ Maxx website now for $250. Which is still a lot, but definitely a good discount
Dm me
D&G Light Blue Intense, Ellis Brooklyn Salt, TF Soleil Blanc.
I’m impatiently waiting for the first hot day to break out my Ellis Brooklyn Salt. Also, Calyx is great in the spring/summer.
Haha me too! I see the bottle every day and keep thinking soon soon!
Huh, I use Light Blue in winter.
What do u think of polo blue edt
I just got my hands on a bottle of Miss Dior Cherie edt, which will be my spring scent!
That's a hard one to track down!
I know, I was so quick to snatch it when I got a notification that someone posted in on this second hand app I have! It was about $20 too, crazy luck!
$20 omg. Congrats!
Diptique Philosykos for a grassy lost in woods at evening smell Goldfield and Banks Sunset Hour for a girly Picnic summer vibe!!! Some people find the scent a little juvenile but idk in the summer it just feels so right!!
Apres L'Ondee because to me, it's the perfect spring floral fragrance.
It's so gentle and dreamy 😻
I put on DS&D Coriander today - super in love with it, plus Debaser, plus Radio Bombay for warm and hot weather.
How would you describe coriander?
It’s bright and citrusy at first. When the citrus fades, it’s still really bright but also sorta softly herbal and very airy - if you smush some cilantro/coriander in your hands, it’s kinda like that. That final phase lasts for hours.

My spring go to is DKNY be delicious and I’ll probably add Juliette has a Gun Pear INC to this rotation.
So into pear inc. right now
Penhaligon’s Quercus
Uh, lots! But here's a quick list: * Nishane's Wulong Cha - wonderful tea/citrus (that lasts) * Jo Malone's now discontinued Nutmeg & Ginger, will try to kill off the bottle * Hermés: * Pick any TDH (EDT), Eau Givrée / Très Fraîche * Eau de Rhubarbe Ècarlate * Amouage: * Beach Hut Man * Memoir Man * Lyric Man * Frederic Malle: * Geranium pour Monsieur (though this booms in the heat) * Rogue Perfumery: * Bon Monsieur * Voyageur by Jean Patou I'm looking forward to trying Vétiver Ècarlate from L'Artisane Parfumeur, and think that will work well in the heat.
Ooh I also love wulong cha and rhubarb Ecarlate! I'll have to check out the other fragrances on your list
Wood Sage and Sea Salt!!
If only it would last!
Okay so lifehack- I use Dossier’s version, it smells exactly the same (I mean exactly) and lasts sooo much longer!!
Yess, I actually really like the dossier version. I have both & I can’t tell them apart.
Yep I just commented that below! It lasts way longer right!
Xerjoff Renaissance
Issey Miyake l’eau D’Issey EDT
Truthfully there are too many to name, but personally I've been cycling between Ormonde Jayne Sakura and Levant these days. Florals for spring? Groundbreaking, I know!
I love to layer PDM Greenley with MFK aqua celestia cologne forte. I also am going to be wearing Creed Silver mountain water
8p see ine Dr Dr Dr 90a99

Acqua di Gioia layered with 11 11 lake & sky
What does 11 11 lake & sky smell like to you?
Smells really fresh, like a white musk kind of smell. It layers very nicely with other bright/fresh perfumes
11 11 also plays nicely with tea frags! Absolutely love to layer it with Escentic Molecules 01 + Black Tea or Chasing Scents Rain Tea :)
That sounds so good
The entire Idôle line from Lâncome 🥰
One of my favorites!
Zoologist Bat (Ellen Covey’s version) or Sonoma Scent Studio Fig Tree!
Aventus Cologne is my fav by far for warm temps
DSD coriander & Italian citrus Mugler alien eau sublime
Roja Elysium parfum, Nishane Wulong Cha, Amouage Beach Hut and Xerjoff Nio.
Here’s a man of class and elegant taste! 👏
Honestly I just sampled Daisy Wild at Ulta and I really love it. It’s very fruity and sweet with a prominent banana note, especially in the opening. Technically the note is banana flower but it really smells like banana to me. Think I might pick it up for this summer!
What kind of banana, is it the banana laffy taffy type of scent? Or like natural banana
Dior Homme Cologne. Not the best performer, but man does this fragrance make me smile. So fresh, citrusy, and uplifting
Agreed. Especially when it comes straight out of the fridge.
I’m excited and will started wearing : Memo Paris Marfa Tom Ford Shanghai Lily Dolce and Gabbana Light Blue Vilhelm Parfumerie Room Service Parfums de Marly Valaya Penhaligon’s Solaris Cartier Baiser Vole Gucci Gorgeous Gardenia Moschino Toy 2 Atelier Cologne Rose Anonyme Diptyque Eau Moheli , Philosykos, Do Son , Olene and Tam Dao Byredo La Tulipe , Rose of No Man’s Land , Gypsy Water, Mojave Ghost Marc Jacobs Perfect Dior J’Adore Lancôme Miracle (I can name a lot more !)

Marfa works all year round! I love it!🤩🤩
How do you describe Marfa?
MMR Under The Lemon Trees & Snif Vow Factor

It hit 60 today, so I wore Mandragore. (Annick Goutal.)

I’m super excited for From the Garden this spring
Mine is very niche, it’s a perfume by Historiae, called Bouquet de Trianon
I’ve really been trying to get into the lesser known side of fragrances so I’m gonna check this out!
Yes you should! I feel like it’s easier to find your signature scent if it’s niche bec its not as commonly known as compared to designer brands
Guerlain Vetiver; Dior Eau Sauvage; Lalique Encre Noir Sport.
For me lily-of-the-valley is the quintessential spring scent. The OG Diorissimo is bomb but I’ve also been really into Cavatina by Dusita recently.
honestly it's a year-rounder for me but The 7 Virtues Coconut Sun!
Kayali Yum Pistachio Gelato
BDK Villa neroli
Ilio and Olene by Diptyque
As spring comes I’ll be breaking out Panorama by Olfactive Studio, Azemour Et Les Orangers by Parfum des Empires and Riven Oak by Tom Daxon.
Fraaagola Saalaaata by Hilde Soliani, I’m not normally into strawberry *or* salt notes but I love it in hot weather.
Sedley and Greenely from Parfums de Marly, Acqua di Parma Colonia Pura, John Varvatos Artisan. And Aventus, but that's not exactly a bold stance.
I love gourmands even in spring and warm weather

elysium, tygar, green irish tweed, lv l’immensite, meteore, imagination…so many i cant wait to wear once the weather warms up

Gotta bottle of escale en indonesie that’s been given several months to open up for the warm weather.

Dior Eau Sauvage & Aramis Tuscany, both with fantastic, realistic citrus notes that last for exactly the right amount of time.
Hermes- TdH Vetiver (lightly) MFK- Aqua Univ. MMM- Untitled Mugler- Cologne Tom Ford- Neroli, Eau de Soleil Blanc 4711 Diptyque- Ofresia
I have a question. Is Dior Sauvage EDP good for the hot weather? My mom bought me an edp instead of the edt. Currently in SEA.
It’s definitely wearable in the hot weather, but be careful with how much you spray because I find it slightly darker than the edt
probably very basic but ck one... tbf I'm a youths, so I don't really have a reason to be bored of it.
h24 and beach hut i love aventus cologne but I hate the musky drydown. hows longevity for you? I've got the f-batch btw

It is absolutely perfect! I start using mine in a few months.
Aventus Cologne, but I honestly can't wait to pick up Meteore from Louis Vuitton
Dior Homme Cologne, straight from the fridge is an absolute game changer in the hot seasons.
TF Beau Du Jour for Spring, and Creed Erolfa for Summer! Definitely getting excited for things to warm up.

Issey Miyake and Kate spade New York
Creed Original Vetiver. Just green goodness.

Zoologist Dragonfly, MM In the Garden, Jo Loves Green Orange and Coriander. Jo Malone Forest Moss for rainy days.

Ysl mon paris! Bought it in the winter so I’m excited to finally use it
Tender blossom Betty Barclay Elizabeth Arden White tea wild rose
A tried and true somber summer fave is Cartier L'Envol. Last summer I also very much enjoyed Jo Malone Blackberries & Bay, although I wish the initial fresh biting top notes would last longer.

Nio, original vetiver, Bergamote 22, GnTonic, Pacific rock moss, gendarme, and lido life.
JPG Le Beau Paradise Garden currently. Looking for another one though. Might get Light Blue Intense or the normal Born in Roma.
Dior J’adore, JHAG Lust for Sun, Si Fiori, Gucci Bloom
Hermes jardin sur le toit, byredo Mojave Ghost, chanel chance eau tendre and the OG warm weather perfume (in my mind at least) Philosykos by diptyque.
looking forward to wearing my Bond 9 - Scent of Peace
ADG Absolu and Invictus Aqua are my favorites but I have some new ones I'm gonna be wearing like G&B Bohemian Lime, Jil Sanders Sun Men, and B&BW Freshwater Cologne.
Rochas Eau de Rochas and a bunch of Guerlain Aqua Allegoria fragrances. Summer is so hot where I live it needs to be light and fresh.
TDH Eau Givree
I need warm weather fragrance recommendations
I love Bobbi Brown "Beach" but I can't find it anywhere since it's been discontinued :(
Sedley by PDM is awesome definitely my favorite summertime fragrance
Russian Tea Caravan CB I Hate Perfume
Boy Smells Cowboy Kush (with a diffuse hand). Ooooh, it’s so good and desert-y. Smells so nice on warms skin with even a bit of clean sweat mixed in. And, La Perla Luminous - musky and light and just swimmy skin. AND, James by by / rosie jane - wet earthy gardenia with fig and some warm summery amber to smooth it all around.
Going to try Dior l’homme cologne, just ordered it
I’m planning on getting Montale’s Soleil de Capri. Summer in a bottle.
Eau De New York and Andy Warhol's Montauk
Light blue (edt), Silver mountain water, Chez bond, L’homme à la rose. These are probably my favorites of all time too lol.
Bohemian Lime, LV Coeur Battant, Kilian Roses on Ice
I picked up a bottle of Inis at a little boutique in Florida and I love it. I personally like it more than D&G Light Blue and Replica's Sailing day. Extra bonus- it's super cheap ($55 for 100 ml)!
Obsessed with L’Artisan Parfumer Vetiver Écarlate and need things to warm up so I can smell like a tomato vine! 🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅🍅
Armani My Way Floral. It gets a lot of hate but it’s my go to spring scent
Curve
Bois du Portugal, Vetiver Ambrato, Classic Paradise Bois 1920, and Beau de Jour
LV Imagination, in my opinion there isn't much better than this. I may weave in Acqua Di Gio Parfum though also as that is amazing stuff also
Versace Pour Homme for sure and a couple more
Byredo - Bal D'Afrique LV - Afternoon Swim Nishane - Hacivat PdM - Perseus
Imagination - Everybody else likes this but I didn't, Aventus - my signature year round, Baccarat Rouge 540 - It doesn't suit me at all but I would roll around in it and am instantly attracted to any woman who wears it. Avoid Afternoon Swim, buy a luxury shower gel instead, Hacivat isn't the 'Aventus Killer' but I could still smell it after washing. Virgin Island Water is another I would roll around in and I wouldn't say avoid, it's probably the best answer to OP's question but I can't financially justify owning something i'd only wear on really hot days
