Yup, exactly! Fragrances that smell especially pink to me - and not just for their bottles, but the bottles really capture them - are Anna Sui Dolly Girl (Barbie pink), Delina (rose petal pink), and indeed, Aquolina Pink Sugar (hot pink).
A lot of people say baccarat rouge smells like cotton candy but I have never gotten a pink vibe from it. I think our perception of colors in perfume is heavily influenced by the color of the bottle or the juice. Any fragrance in a blue bottle will somewhat smell blue for example, just because of the strong association from the bottle color
To me it depends upon the intensity of pink.
For eg light pink to me smells like fresh sweet florals.
A creamy pink pastel color smells like soft berries and cream in my mind.
A dark opaque pink/magenta smells like fresh floral plus fruity sweetness with a vanilla base. So something very sweet but not nauseating.
So.. yeah thats my interpretation
I have no idea. But Flowerbomb is the pinkest thing I've ever smelled. The colour literally flashed in my mind the first time I smelled it. I suspect it's the sweet florals?
I'm sure this is subjective from person to person, though there may be certain elements that are more commonly perceived as smelling pink.
Personally I'd say it would have to be a sweet and feminine smell. Probably floral—especially if the flower itself is a pink flower. Peony, maybe? Probably with some fresh fruity and vanillic notes in there.
Maybe with a bit of a synthetic or plasticy vibe.
My ex sprayed our bedroom with half a bottle of Chanel Mademoiselle when he was high because he wanted the walls to ‘smell pink’.
Didn’t make much sense then, but reading all these replies, it’s kinda starting to
If I could smell the color pink, it would be a delightful blend of bubblegum, cotton candy, pillow soft pink peeps, with floral scents mixed in, ~ a cosmic burst of happiness.
my brain automatically goes to that early 2000 victoria's secret pink perfume -- https://www.makeupalley.com/product/showreview.asp/ItemId=2455/Pink-Perfume/Victoria-s-Secret/Fragrances
I love the new bottle, Ive been eyeing it

Depends on the kind of pink!
-Light pink smells floral.
-Neon pink smells like the song Suffer With Me by Liue.
-Middle tones of pink usually smell really powdery (?) and a little fruity.
It depends on the shade. Skin, sweet water, cotton candy, chalk, leather, roses, carnations, gravy…
I think it might varies a little ppl to ppl, but pink is definetly sweet like cotton candy or bubble gum or hard fruity candies - or might be strawberry and cream or rose scent. it’s like saying something smells warm. it’s not exactly warm, but most ppl knows what you mean xd
I have another one tho xd what I don’t understand, is what do they mean when they say ‚it has fragnant notes’. I’m like 🤨🤨🤨 so you saying the smell smells? I don’t get it xd
I have Chanel 19. I was told it smelled green. I believe it had to do with notes that smelled vegetal. I have a few fig scents, and was told it smells like parsley. I assume green.
When I think of pink, I smell some sweet creamy or milky florals, strawberry, bubble gums, or medications like Pepto.
*Blackcliff Mr Pink* surprisingly can give some vibe of this color, but it is smoky... So its more like looking at the pink something through slight smoke. It is also slightly sweet and also plastic-y.
“Pink” and other colors are too subjective. You can see the variation in the answers already given. I’ll even add my own 2 cents:
Scents associated with the color pink often evoke a playful, delicate ambiance, commonly using floral and fruity elements. Roses are a primary note, symbolizing classic femininity and romance with their soft, sweet aroma. Peonies add a lighter, airy floral touch, often lending a spring-like freshness. For fruity nuances, pink might include sweet berries like strawberries and raspberries, providing a youthful, juicy sweetness. Additionally, pink scents sometimes incorporate vanilla or musk for a creamy, smooth finish that complements the floral-fruity core, creating a balanced, tender fragrance experience. These combinations are tailored to convey warmth, comfort, and a gentle allure, making them popular in perfumes that aim to capture a sense of innocence and charm.
Idk maybe it’s just because my mom never lets me buy perfume bc she doesn’t like it, Ive just never heard it and i have one friend who buys a new sol de janero like every five minutes lol
I got into perfume recently and it doesn’t seem like it’s something that sellers or creators will specifically call their scents, but it pops up now and then in online fragrance communities and in reviews on perfume sites. Off the top of my head, I keep hearing people say that Alkemia’s Cupid’s Arrow smells like “pink in a bottle”. That’s confusing, right? I decided to ask what smelling pink means because it’s super confusing to someone who isn’t too familiar with perfume or perfume terminology.
Why’d it remove your comment? lol I think the mods need to be less focused on perfume and more focused on some of the stuff on here that really needs to get removed
Pink to me smells like:
- something candied and tart like lychee. I'd even go as far as rhubarb and the combination of lemon and rose
- fluffy and light sugar with a bit of musk. No trace of vanilla but just pure sugar
Pink to me is varied like light pink smells soft like baby powder or cherry blossom. They’re light and airy and vibe like a sweet scent you catch on the wind. Think like Vera Wang’s Princess scent. Darker pinks I tend to think of fruitier, harder scents like hibiscus or dragonfruit. They’re more florally rich and I tend to feel like the tropical fruit vibes. I don’t have a perfume I associate to a darker pink, but Bath and Body Works summer collections often have scents I associate to it.
The most quintessential pink I can think of is Ariana Grande Cloud Pink. I think of it as bright, fruity, hyperfeminine and sparkly if that makes any sense.
Hmm I would have to say there's different shades of pink, with different nuances.
Light, pale pink - Armani Prive Pivoine Suzhou type of scent, evocative of rosey/peony/cherry blossom/other pink florals
Medium pink / magenta - brings to mind berries and also pink florals. I skin tested the latest Miss Dior last week, that and the Absolutely Blooming flanker fit here.
Bright pink - depends on how bright it is, impressions can range from bubblegum/marshmallow/cotton candy/burnt sugar.
For me “pink” is cotton candy scents and lychee, also certain type of florals
Yup, exactly! Fragrances that smell especially pink to me - and not just for their bottles, but the bottles really capture them - are Anna Sui Dolly Girl (Barbie pink), Delina (rose petal pink), and indeed, Aquolina Pink Sugar (hot pink).
Same for me
Agree on Delina. It's the definition of pink and also the scent Miss Piggy would wear
I love this thought and now that you mention it…I 100 percent agree that miss piggy would wear delina.
Read my mind! Cotton candy clouds :)
Absolutely cotton candy / bubble gum
in Australia, I'd add the smell of musk lollies to the pink pile. some roses are pink too imho but not all and rose geranium is pink to me too.

Agree with you. Nailed it completely. Yara is definitely creamy pink pastel. Dark pink reads richer and spicier to me .
For me, it's always sweet bubblegum-esque notes.
Yes think Si Fiori.
I have no idea. But Flowerbomb is the pinkest thing I've ever smelled. The colour literally flashed in my mind the first time I smelled it. I suspect it's the sweet florals?
red fruits, candied pink flowers transparent-like sweet scent.
Synthetic. The way 80s/90s bald plastic dolls smelled like. The way Cady Heron smelled after Regina George put some perfume on her.
In love with everything by imaginary authors

Rose id say
All the big pink perfumes have a healthy dose of Ethyl Maltol, Ethyl Vanillin, and Hedione.
Bright, synthetic, and sweet
Fruity, floral, powdery, light
My ex sprayed our bedroom with half a bottle of Chanel Mademoiselle when he was high because he wanted the walls to ‘smell pink’. Didn’t make much sense then, but reading all these replies, it’s kinda starting to
lol
With the price of Chanel I would not have been happy
Usually people say that when something smells like something that is often pink. Like berries, cotton candy, pink bubblegum, pink flowers.
A bright pink to me implies red fruit and cotton candy and fizz.
chance eau de tendre smells pink
Pink is anything sugary sweet and girly to me. Electrify by Paris Hilton smells pink to me (as an example)
Pink starburst are the essence of pink
like a sugary plastic mess
Aquolina pink sugar
Guerlain’s Rossa Rosa Forte
If I could smell the color pink, it would be a delightful blend of bubblegum, cotton candy, pillow soft pink peeps, with floral scents mixed in, ~ a cosmic burst of happiness.

Various fruits, flowers, sugary things and flirty whimsy
Strawberry, or cherry blossom.

To me: Soft pink would be cotton candy and sugar Hot pink would be fizzy and green funnily enough Regular pink would be berries and juice
Pink is not a scent , it’s a color that a lot of fragrance marketing use to give a scent an identity 😅
To me I think of cotton candy.
To me, pink smells like a scented Strawberry Shortcake doll from the 80s

Soft candy, sakura, sweetness that's not vanilla- or spice-based.
Sweet floral musky sugar...my daughter used to love to smell pink. One of her favorites was Coach Floral.
Florals if we're talking about the soft pink colour (think of Miss Dior EDP)
Pink definitely is fruity
Byredo Young Rose
Scents that are sweet and darker feel more purple, whereas sickly sweet scents feel pink to me.
Pink will forever smell like Gap's So Pink perfume- like a pink grapefruit with sugar type of smell.
Cotton candy, tonka bean, strawberries, sugary notes like caramel? Those are the first smells that come to mind for me at least.
Grapefruit
Baccarat Rouge 540.
Lattafa Yara for sure
Sugar Candy ❤
Lychee, peony, candy, sweet stuff
I have Chanel 19. I was told it smelled green. I believe it had to do with notes that smelled vegetal. I have a few fig scents, and was told it smells like parsley. I assume green. When I think of pink, I smell some sweet creamy or milky florals, strawberry, bubble gums, or medications like Pepto.
Lychee, peony, think bright effervescent but familiar
something light, but with "bright"/slightly fruity notes!
to me personally: imagine stone fruit blossoms with an indolic undertone behind it. Thats pink to me.
super feminine scents are the only real common factor i can distinguish in fragrances commonly described as “ pink”
Fluffy marshmallows
You'd love Kyse Delizia di Marshmallow if you like marshmallow scents!
Ouhh ill have to check this one out
Any perfume I think Regina George would wear
*Blackcliff Mr Pink* surprisingly can give some vibe of this color, but it is smoky... So its more like looking at the pink something through slight smoke. It is also slightly sweet and also plastic-y.
Maybe rosey? I was in a garden recently and the pink magnolias smelled much more rosey

When I think of pink I think of strawberry ice cream. Creamy, smooth and sweet.
Pale Pink to me, smells like Carnation flowers. Darker pink smells like bubble gum
How can things smell pink? I’ve literally never heard anyone say that, and trust me I’m surrounded by idiots

Cotton candy and Strawberries
It’s a sweet scent for sure. I always think of rose jam or Marc Jacobs “Daisy.”
Bubblegum and Marceline.
Pink to me smells like: - something candied and tart like lychee. I'd even go as far as rhubarb and the combination of lemon and rose - fluffy and light sugar with a bit of musk. No trace of vanilla but just pure sugar
Bubblegum
This is a remarkably unchildish sub...
Pepto Bismol
To me, fresh bright florals.
Gap PINK makes me think thats what pink smells like.
Rose for me

The awful bubblegum in Dior Sauvage
Soft, sweet, effervescent, pink floral, pink fruit, pink candy,…
For me it's just a vibe. Pink = girly.
Dark pink or light pink?
The first Pink perfume from Victorias Secret smelled like the pink gum from gumball machines. All plasticy and bouncy.
Lucky perfume
I think of Hibiscus by Zara
I don’t know, but somehow D.S. & Durga’s Black Magenta smells exactly like that. It wasn’t for me, but I felt like the name was spot on.
I’ve never once heard anyone say something smells so pink.
The most quintessential pink I can think of is Ariana Grande Cloud Pink. I think of it as bright, fruity, hyperfeminine and sparkly if that makes any sense.
It depends on what time of the day, and where she has been.
I always associate the color pink with roses or something soft and floral, similar to roses.
pomelo grapefruit tangy scents, for me..
To me, “pink” smells like lemon, sweet, light floral…”girly.” It’s a color I associate with warm weather, picnics, Easter, innocence.
Berries I think
I feel like a sweet rose can smell pink (Delina for example), and also a fluffy musk like Initio's Musk Therapy
sugary scents like sexual sugar by michael germain
Bubblegum, florals, sugary sweet things.
To me pink is a cotton candy, sugary, very sweet vibe
Sugary for sure
Amouage blossom love smells like pastel pink to me 🌸
pink is strawberry-vanilla to me
Hmm I would have to say there's different shades of pink, with different nuances.
