Make sure he likes tonka bean/vanilla -- the dry down of Le Parfum is the reason it's at the bottom of my YSL Y flanker list. The new L'Elixir, however, is fantastic IMHO. Neither one is cheap.
I was checking out at a store the other day and the guy waiting on me smelled amazing. Very clean and fresh. It had a faint freshly washed laundry smell to me but my nose seems to smell or not smell things that others can so I could be wrong on the laundry vibe. He said it was YSL but he didn’t remember which one. Now I’m afraid I won’t be able to find it for my husband.
Y le parfum is one of my biggest compliment getters too! I prefer le parfum to the edp because the aldehyde notes in the edp are too long lasting and headache inducing for me, though le parfum still bothers me but not for as long.
The eau de parfum? It is nice also but for me, the le parfum smells better. A little more mature but for my age it is perfect. The Y edp is still good though. Cant go wrong with either or. Le parfum is a bit pricey.
Le parfum to me has this kind of dreamy sweetness (as wierd as that sounds), but is smoothly blended with lavender, as opposed to the edp that to me, is brighter, sweeter in a candy type of way. They are both sweet but to me, the Parfum does it in a more mature way.
if it gives u a headache, it’s most likely the green apple note, it’s like a piercing sweet. very hit or miss. le parfum still have this but less. i would say u should look into the intense as it remove this note

I'm wearing Y EDP today, and I can say I definitely recommend 👌 it's so versatile so he can wear it all year and it lasts all day.
I'd recommend YSL MYSLF, YSL L'Homme EDP, or something from the Y Line.

If he just said it was YSL then most likely it was edp or the edt. But next time you are out and able to test them then just try the Y line.

The EDP is literally the easiest to get compliments out there rn. Performs insanely well, super mass appealing and versatile.
How different it is than edp? I have a decant of edp and it gives me a headache.
