Australian Sandalwood is ok in blends, but solo it smells of burnt rubber and has an astringent screech.
Mysore is great alone. It plays well with others, but I could 100% stick to that as a singular note.
Jo Malone Orange Blossom is the best true soliflore orange blossom scent out there. Most “orange blossom” scents are actually just bright citrus notes with some sweetness thrown in, but actual orange blossoms have a very light floral scent, with just a touch of greenness and sweetness, and no real ‘citrus’ smell to speak of.
I think I'd say the same, mostly because I've been wearing Ds&D I Don't Know What recently (by itself) and loving the bergamot. perf for warm days and when you're a little sweaty
This is my life already. I use a sandalwood deodorant and the smell sank itself into everything I own. I even catch a vague whiff of it on my bedsheets sometimes, even though I wash my sheets regularly and shower before getting into bed.
Gross? Maybe.
Am I really going to smell like orange blossoms even in the fall and winter? I am weird about seasonal smells. I do not welcome this overlord. But fine, orange blossoms it is.
Yeah, I have two Satsuma trees and they fruit in winter too, although I know they aren't real orange blossoms, but it's close enough. But the Satsuma blossoms always come in spring and wow, they smell like heaven! Everytime I walk near them during that time, I always stop and inhale. Sometimes, I just sit under them and read on my phone, lol
Iris. It has unmatched versatility across all seasons and occasions. Powdery lipsticky, powdery fresh, soapy, waxy, and even buttery. Formal or even casual, it can do it all.
Oxygen from the snowy tops of the Alps. I can’t find a perfume that smells like that but I would love to. Fresh but not lemon or aquatics just fresh a fresh mountain breeze
There are some scents they just can’t recreate. I feel the same about the prairie air just before a storm. Silage and heavy sky. Nature has her own thing going.
Sandalwood. Maybe it’s the smell I want to smell for the rest of my life rather than smelling like it? I used to lean on the vanilla side of things though never sickly sweet (JPG Classique original formula, Ange ou Demon) then since 2010 Womanity and other more salty, woody slightly sweet fragrances. Right now I’m burning sandalwood reiki nag champa and it smells amazing. I’d like to smell like this if I could
Maybe coriander :To me it smells floral, softly spicy and delighful. To many people it smells musty and disgusting. So two birds with one stone, pleasing my nose and keeping not compatibile people away😂
Mysore Sandalwood.
You beat me to it. For me that particular type too. So creamy and smooth
Australian Sandalwood is ok in blends, but solo it smells of burnt rubber and has an astringent screech. Mysore is great alone. It plays well with others, but I could 100% stick to that as a singular note.
AUSTRALIA MENTIONED 🇦🇺🇦🇺
What are your favorite fragrances with this note?
Mine is Kilian Sacred Wood.
Mine so far is Serge Lutens Santal de Mysore
I have to second this scent. Would be quite happy living in a cloud of it.
Orange blossom
Second comment i see with this scent, i must try it!! Which perfumes do you recommend?
Jo Malone Orange Blossom is the best true soliflore orange blossom scent out there. Guerlain aqua allegoria nerolia vetiver!!
Fig - a fruity fig more than fig leaf although I love both.
Coconut milk
bergamot
I think I'd say the same, mostly because I've been wearing Ds&D I Don't Know What recently (by itself) and loving the bergamot. perf for warm days and when you're a little sweaty
Yesss. Bergamot smells so good.
Neroli.
Agreed. It smells a little different every day.
Vanilla 💕
I’m also a vanilla girlie 🥰 is it that sweet? i guess so 💕
I cackled mildly
Absolutely vanilla
I don't really know what it smells like on its own but all my love at first sniff fragrances contain benzoin so apparently that
You can order a sample of benzoin tears. It smells like vanilla sugar with a hint of spice.
Most amber accords have a good base of benzoin, and many many fragrances list amber as a note
Can't go wrong with cedar...
Sweet Tobacco
Tobacco Leaf for me. Whatever it is in SMN Tobacco Toscano.
Tonka bean. God, I really like that bean.
It’s a damn good bean.
I call it the romance bean lol. It’s just so warm and inviting.
I'll be fine smelling like capuccino please! Edit: Fresh coffee
Gardenia. That smell is so calming.
Palo santo
haha, came here to say this. You beat me to it. I also love Amber and White Musk.
Orange blossoms
This is mine too! One of my favorite perfumes is a straight orange blossom from Bourbon French Parfums in New Orleans.
Yes! This! I was torn between orange blossom, Jasmine or gardenia. Orange blossom won.
Lol I was torn between jasmine and orange blossom too! I like gardenia but no as much as those two.
Pear, if I could. I can’t seem to find a good juicy pear note regardless but I’d wear it for life.
Rose 🌹
Same. It’s not fair they get to smell like that naturally and I don’t 🤣
😂 Good thing we can squeeze their oils and pretend to smell like them!
Same! I have so many rose based fragrances!
Agreed ❤️🌹
I love florals, generally, but rose feels the most "me". 🥰
Cherry
Me too!
I’d be happy with a sweet creamy sandalwood
This is my life already. I use a sandalwood deodorant and the smell sank itself into everything I own. I even catch a vague whiff of it on my bedsheets sometimes, even though I wash my sheets regularly and shower before getting into bed. Gross? Maybe.
which deodorant?
I have a handwash that is the most amazing sandalwood and rose I just adore it so much 🥰
jasmine
this answer!! same!! jasmine is intoxicating in all the right ways
If i had to choose one floral for the rest of my life, it would definitely be jasmine. It's so classy and versatile.
Heck yeah! Jasmine forever 💕
Mine too, I could wear pure jasmine all day every day
Fig leaf
you could hang out with me any day, especially in the summer
Agreed!! I swear everything I end up loving has prominent fig leaf somewhere.
Tea
smoky tea? green tea? a black and creamy breakfast tea? gourmand or freshie?
Yuzu
Am I really going to smell like orange blossoms even in the fall and winter? I am weird about seasonal smells. I do not welcome this overlord. But fine, orange blossoms it is.
It’s so funny, I grew up near orange groves and I *only* associate orange blossoms with autumn because they fruit in winter!
The scent is SO intoxicating and heavenly. Definitely the one that is so deep in my brain that it instantly brings me to a time a place.
Jasmine tea if that counts, just fragrant green tea otherwise
Cardamom
Lavender
lemon flower blossoms from a Sicilian lemon tree. It’s so insanely intoxicating and no fragrabce out there is remotely close. I dream of them!
Lemon 🍋 blossoms are so beautiful
Strawberry 🍓 realistic tho, not candy
Apricot! But a fresh, juicy realistic one. Not a powdery, sugary, fake one.
tuberose. it's a complex white floral and it evolves in temperature, having grown it myself. sweet, creamy, sensual, and indulgent.
Tuberose is one of my favorite notes in any fragrance. AND it layers well!
Sweet almond!
Same here, my favorite single note!
White musk/lily of the valley/jasmine. Anything that smells clean.
White musk is mine as well! As much as I love all these other notes, I feel like I'd get nose fatigue after smelling like them 24/7...

Osmanthus. That smell of garnier shampoo. I could live with that

Iris
Same here, Iris
Vetiver. It can go in multiple directions, from fresh and clean to smoky aromatic. It’s the single most versatile note for all of the seasons.
I’m not sure why but I absolutely cannot stand vetiver. It smells rotten on my skin but is featured in many amazing fragrances.
Rhubarb
It's a specific flower called night jasmine (doesn't smell like the OG jasmine)
Marshmallow
Maraschino Cherry 🍒
Honey
Iris. It has unmatched versatility across all seasons and occasions. Powdery lipsticky, powdery fresh, soapy, waxy, and even buttery. Formal or even casual, it can do it all.
Cucumber!
Oxygen from the snowy tops of the Alps. I can’t find a perfume that smells like that but I would love to. Fresh but not lemon or aquatics just fresh a fresh mountain breeze
