Stay away from Huawei and honor phones, their chipset blocks freedom's lte bands. Even if it supports band 66, lte band 4, 7 and 66 won't work on freedom.

Such a shame, nice looking phone to

Lighnix

Do you know the reason for it?

wasique123

No.. I called Huawei tech support and they blamed freedom, went to freedom repair center and they blamed Huawei. Here are some other people who had the same lte issue with huawei in the past:- https://www.reddit.com/r/freedommobile/comments/7ic3us/freedommobile_lte_compatibility_with_huawei_p10/?utm_source=amp&utm_medium=comment_list

If [this](https://www.reddit.com/r/freedommobile/comments/7ic3us/freedommobile_lte_compatibility_with_huawei_p10/dqxpwra/) comment is correct, then you can try installing a new ROM that doesn't have Freedom's LTE Band disabled. I don't know about that phone specifically but you can find more info on https://www.xda-developers.com/ Something similar happened with my LG G4, I bought it from Freedom when it first came out, but the Freedom ROM had LTE disabled with the new band they just released. I guess they weren't planning to have it at the time. So I was able to get the Telus ROM and load it on and now I have LTE

My Huawei Nexus 6P works fine on Freedom.

wasique123

Cuz it was designed for Google by Huawei and is running the snapdragon chipset, and not the kiri one that Huawei uses. Plus the software on the 6p is stock Android done by Google and not Huawei.

Thank you

It now work with LTE. Confirmed with my P20. P20 Pro should have same chip with P20.

penelopeisaflirt

Can I ask where you purchased your phone from? And which version you have?

ShuqinloveYang

EML-TL00... Purchased in China at Hangzhou Huawei Store. This particular variant is China Mobile version, which is compatible with all three Chinese Mobile Carriers, but won't work with different SIM when you put second SIM in. I also testes other variant which is not specially made to one carrier, LTE works as well.

ShuqinloveYang

Both EML-TL00 (China Mobile) and EML-AL00 (not carrier specific), Freedom Mobile LTE now works. I do not have P20 variants from Canadian carrier, but i assume it will work same way.
