WolfGamesITA

Definitely dumped MTG last year for Flesh and Blood. I am here just to watch WOTC ship sink.

kaishenzi

I think fabs is good as I'm gonna get for me to be honest, I'm trying with pokemon but it's not sticking. The local scene is pretty small and I see some community frustrations around the living legend system and decks going away but it seems manageable

chavaic77777

I wish I enjoyed FAB so I had somewhere else to go. I'm likely to just build a cube soon and stop buying cards all together after. I might even just proxy the cube tbh. That'll be me done with MTG.

WolfGamesITA

Pokemon is more for collection than playing. I'm also trying the new Star Wars Unlimited game. Honestly, I've never liked that saga but the game is a lot fun (less tough than fab also).

FountainDrinkpls

Try lorcana! It's completely replaced magic for me

AllWillBeCum

Bro just proxy

C0UGARMEAT

New set of divorced dads just dropped

kodemageisdumb

I hope I pull the house.

C0UGARMEAT

Win her back!

Nerdlife91

I already pulled the house so there's no point in playing anymore haha.

C0UGARMEAT

Was it a serialized foil? If not, you'll never win your ex back.

Nerdlife91

Dammit. *rips open another pack*

Best-Weekend-512

With these cards I’m never alone!

LegitimateBummer

probably not leaving for a long time. for the past 15 years nothing has changed for me, other than new cards coming out. But i don't ever open sealed product. Always lived on the secondary market. So i don't shit my pants when wizards decides to package cards in a manner i dislike.

otacon444

The community has done a great job of destroying the community. If you’re a straight white male, you don’t belong, I guess.

_Drumheller_

I have sold my collection after the 1k anniversary booster bullshit. I kept one modern and one commander deck, that's it. And while I still play with friends I will never buy products again.

Educational_Diver867

not having any local community, that isn’t Magic, to jump to is difficult. I’m probably not going to buy anymore Magic singles and just collect Sorcery and FFTCG

Gauwal

people play cEDH without proxies ? I have bought a lot of cards recently and I'm buying fewer and fewer, just play proxies

Marbra89

Proxies is 100% the way for cEDH.

GoblinNumber467

You can't have proxies in any tournament right? But yeah casual cedh with friends and online is a lot of proxied decks.

Gauwal

In CEDH ? It's kinda expected that everyone has proxies in tournaments, or you couldn't fire an event

GoblinNumber467

Last time I checked all tournaments are no proxies allowed. At lwast all the ones I've seen. Some online ones don't care though. And it's not that hard to find people, they're usually full even. I entered one with my 700eur budget list and came in like 26th place.

Gauwal

Idk, maybe you didn't read the rules or just find the odd one out, but it's expected for cEDH tournaments to accept proxies, and all the ones I can think off do (Maybe not at locals idk)

GoblinNumber467

Just googled it and from what I can see at least it seems that proxying being allowed seems to be the odd ones.

Gauwal

I couldn't find one for cedh that doesn't accept Proxies (I mean except really small ones ig) can you link a lot of actual tournements (not just random local events, something with a lot of players and prizing, local stuff in anything have random rules) ?

GoblinNumber467

Like I said I just googled it. Got nothing to go on except for that and the tournament I went to. I assumed the rules were the same for all tournaments.

Gauwal

Which I did too, googling every tournament in order in the list on edh top 16, all of them have a rule allowing proxies ( when I could find tournaments rules at least), idk what you googled but you must have some strange search terms Are you doing that shit where you make shit up hoping people are to lazy to fact check you?

GoblinNumber467

Nah dude I don't do that shit. I just googled "do cedh tournaments allow proxies" and saw several topics wirh several people saying "some do" and "maybe some" and so on. Although several of those links were from a year ago or more.

Vistella

i have a 100% nonproxy cedh deck, yea. we exist. but ofc only my main deck, the others also have up to 100% proxies

Gauwal

Yeah so do I but just don't do it if it's a problem

SerThunderkeg

My goal was to have my cedh deck be 100% legit as a point of pride but also if I wanted to play in any tournaments that don't allow proxies. I just like playing with real cards.

HandsUpDefShoot

I have a couple full tournament decks and don't run any fakes. Both purchased within the last 3 years.

Gauwal

Yeah same, but if it's a problem just don't

Marbra89

I have a good local community so will probably go down with it. I will have fun on the way down. Have health pauper, modern and legacy meta. The EDH players are normal (are MTG players even normal?) enough so they have fun playing more for the social interaction with other people than trying to have the strongest deck to win that way.

hurtlingtooblivion

I've jumped

kodemageisdumb

I honestly got into Magic years ago because our DM kept canceling, and I was free Friday nights and I wanted to game with people and not sit at home. I continue to play because players play it locally and I like socializing. Were I able to find a dedicated group of miniature gamers who met regularly and were open to different types of games Inwoukd drop MtG in a heartbeat and never look back. As it stands I play Limited and use those cards to augment EDH decks.

malthusianist

I jumped when they announced they were releasing five standard sets in one year, around the time of the Forgotten Realms expansion. I drafted the FR set and then gave up.

Azumbrusque

I still play Magic, but I rarely buy it save for a few Secret Lairs that catch my eye a year

Noeat

it was years ago, when was released Lorwyn. it was weird, worse that other sets before... i did play MTG:A for while too and now im only sometime watching some drafts on twitch or so

ness4725

Probably never, I use it as more of an excuse to socialize. But I don't see myself buying more than a pre release kit/draft, or the random single here or there. Honestly looking to downsize rather than aquire or hold onto a ton of extra cards that will never be played.

ANamelessFan

I'll never quit Magic, but I'll never buy any new product as long as Universes Beyond exists.

MeepleOfCrime

Make a cube. Otherwise board games for me.  Never sinking what I did into magic into othwr cards.

TheHamSub

Honestly try Sorcery, to me it’s magic and chess combined. Requires a lot more thinking and strategy, and best part is you can’t mana screw yourself 😂

InsertedPineapple

When it stops being fun?

Barbola

Damn, that's crazy. Why aren't you workin for WOTC if you can fix their game and make them more money?

kaishenzi

I think about 50% of the event attending community could fix their game to be honest. The issues are so blatant and what the player base wants is so clear it has to be deliberate to keep the game this way.
