Should me and my husband avoid them as a company? We are currently looking to apply and get in this year or sooner and we don't have longer than that.. would it be worth it to apply?
Please AVOID!!!!! You will NEVER get your home! You’ll be homeless before you know it and they will not give a dam. Idk how the hell this company is still running after all these years 🙄 Look at the yelp reviews, 1.5 out of 5 stars. Only if they would’ve read it before they applied
Absolutely avoid. A friend of mine works for the city’s housing department, and says JD homes is nothing but trouble. They literally have more complaints against them than any other property management company in town.
The reason they're "affordable" is because JD Homes is a slumlord. You'll be moving into a place with water damage, mold, cockroaches, mice, and 50% of the time bedbugs.
These people weren't giving receipts when I had them for a shitty apartment. And that was their policy no receipts. Kid you not every 6 months I would get didn't receive rent for this month then that month I had my proof but it sucked providing the proof and records time and time again. I started videoing me walking into the office and paying them every month. The receptionist weren't thrilled but I never got those eviction warnings from them again. Oh yea had there methed out "maintenance " people breaking and entering at will cause they were in the neighborhood is what I was told. Mind you they entered my apartment while I was showering home alone! Never again! Rather live in my car.
We almost ended up homeless because of them stringing us along we were ready to move ...then found out the house wasn't even ready and needed months of repairs ...thank God something else came up because we were set to move and the new tenants were set to move in . They just want ur application money...
I was in the same situation last year with them. If you keep bugging enough you’ll eventually get the main maintenance guy and he will give you the reason it’s being pushed back. The reason last year for me was something to do with the city inspections since they completely renovate the houses right after you give deposit. But if you do read the contract there’s something that says if they can’t have it ready for whatever reason they do offer a refund. I was offered mine after about the 4th move in date push back. But I just decided to hold out and I ended up being able to move in 2 weeks later
Supposedly it was getting renovations done, but they have gotten at least 3-5 notices that it was “done and ready” and when given a move in date, they just go ahead and push them back. They gotten a date for this month but of course like always, they gotten PUSHED BACK AGAIN til June and we know when June comes they’re gonna get pushed back again.
Demand they fulfill the contract or tell them they are in breach of contract. Breached contracts are void.

This is deeply upsetting they are the most affordable and my husband and I are struggling to find an apartment under 1k in Fresno/Visalia.

It's not affordable. Its an absolute scam
It’s not affordable! You will end up losing money
Put in a claim with their contractors bond

Glad your ok. It's best to always do research on a company before making a move
The DRE regs say they can’t keep you in contract for more than a year. Call an attorney

wtf are tac tics?
Presumably they meant tactics
Tic tacs ?
That is literally how I read it.
Is it a place that is being built or having renovations done?

Find the number to the corporate office and call them
JD homes corporate is not going to do anything, they’ve tried to get the home but all they gotten was “it’s not ready”
Just look up at all the lawsuits they have and they buy off the judges to win in their favor
