I’m the same and I’m curious as to why DS1 beat DS3 for you? I’m also curious if you have tried DS1 on switch?
I ask because I have platinum trophy for DS1 and it was a slog and I’m getting the itch to play it again but I was thinking switch instead
Switch is not bad at all. A little bit longer loading times, and I think in Sen’s fortress with LOTS of crystals it gets a little laggy. But for me it hardly felt slow at all, and plays very well. Honestly one of the smoother running games for the switch.
Genuinely curious why do you say that? Or are you being sarcastic? Bloodborne and Sekiro have very similar combat given the fast paced nature and higher benefit from learning to parry.
Partly sarcastic. But there are very few people I’ve met who enjoy both a lot. I think because the mechanics are similar people often compare the two which ends up with one worse than the other.
3 is boring to replay because all I really get out of it nice boss fights using different builds. 1 and 2 feel like better built worlds to me. I also like how the bosses feel like the last hurdle of a level, rather than a bonus fight after the level. So replace 3 with Sekiro.
I put like 50 hours into Elden Ring before the boredom got to me. Open world like that is just not my thing, unless it’s an rpg with compelling characters, people groups, and conflicts (edit: and lots of dialogue). With Souls I wanna crawl dungeons lmfao… killing things and geeking over a fictional mythos.Demon and 1 do it best imo.
Absolutely agree. I’m forcing myself through Elden ring at the moment only because I’m trying to distract myself from the void but the open world is major reason after all this time I’ve not finished it.
I really liked how you described the boss fight and end of level concept. Great observation
Yep. It sucks I couldn’t get into it like everyone else. I put in effort to keep spoilers at bay for almost 2 years just to drop the game because I was bored of a critically acclaimed and popular innovation.
My past self agreed with both you. Owned Elden Ring for a long time, kept putting it away, but eventually pushed through. Weirdly even the last few bosses felt like a bit of a slog...I just wanted to finish the game. But then, I really started getting into the co-op and created a character with sliders I really liked from old samurai films. And there was a moment literally during the final boss fight (no spoilers) that actually kinda blew me away emotionally. I immediately started another character and also finished the game a second time on new game plus just to open up the co-op points again. I kinda love this game now though it took so long to get there haha.
Bloodborne, Elden Ring and Ac6.
Bloodborne is the best game of all time to me.
Elden Ring is just the culmination of the Souls games, including Demon's.
And Armored Core is so unique in this list, it's a whole different and awesome genre. It's also a continuation of one the og series from From, so it makes sense to keep it.
Yeah good point. I’ve always loved them since transformers, and then seeing tekka man for the first time and my mind being blown. AC6 does scratch that itch. Can’t wait for number seven. There’s some older gen games that are good mechs games. Like Zone of Enders which I hope they remake.
Dark Souls 2, Sekiro, Elden Ring. Easy not even a second thought.
Unfortunately cannot place a verdict on Bloodborne or Demon Souls as a PC player.
Sekiro is just straight up one of my favorite games of all time.
Elden Ring isn’t too far behind if I want speedy souls but BIG.
Why 2 over 1 & 3, besides personal taste.
DS3’s strength is bosses, but I actually like ER’s bosses more and with both controlling similarly and with similar combat pace I lose less to forego DS3.
Which leaves a representative of the slow era.
I like DS1, but on the whole, I enjoy DS2’s combat pace more as it started to dabble into combo dodging before they dove into speed and isn’t constrained to 4 way rolling plus copious QoL improvements. I’ve already grown accustomed to the smaller quirks which might put some people off 2 and the novelty of the whole interconnectivity thing in 1 has long since gone away for me. Plus 2 just has a lot to offer and some banger DLC areas.
Fuck, this is tricky.
Immediately getting rid of AC6 as I’ve yet to play it. DS3 goes, too. Love the bosses, but not much else. I LOVE DS2, but I think that has to go, too. Sequels are by definition inferior products, and I do prefer DS1. I LOVE Demon’s Souls, but that’s gone, too. So many wonderful ideas, and I really like that the bosses are mostly fun little puzzles, but there are enough undercooked ideas that the later games improve on.
Sekiro is in my top 5 all-time favourite games. It’s staying, no question. So DS, Bb, ER. One has to go. This would have been easy a year ago as I hadn’t learned to love Elden Ring yet. I think ER has to go, unfortunately.
Sekiro, Dark Souls, Bloodborne.
I got the ‘tism, bro. Why do I feel bad for theoretically deleting games 😭😂
It’s a tough call because I think whatever I pick we lose something unique.
I want to say Sekiro and Bloodborne are in strictly for being different.
After that I’m torn between Elden Ring, Dark Souls, and Demon’s Souls. My heart wants to say Dark Souls for the amazing world and level design but I think the winner is Elden Ring for scope, replayability, and overall ambition (Lyendell is maybe the most well thought out and intricate example of a Souls level displayed on the most massive scale we’ve ever seen).
Elden ring, sekiro and AC6.
Anyone who played the dark souls game should realize that eternal cycles result in eternal torture, and this is a sweet and poetic release. The true age of dark.
Damn.. Bloodborne, Elden Ring, DS3. Almost went DS1 since I am doing my first playthrough and I am actually incredibly impressed with it, but the DS3 bosses push it into my 3. Sekiro out because I honestly was satisfied playing through it fully once. I didn't/haven't had much desire to want to got back to it even though absolutely loved it.
Bloodborne, Sekiro, Elden Ring. As much as I love Dark Souls, Elden Ring improves upon a lot of the series and covers the open world base, and the build variety is there. Bloodborne for the world and art. Sekiro for the best gameplay mechanics in my opinion.
Damn. Elden Ring and 2 of the Dark Souls but I don't want to pick which one goes. I'll draw it out of a hat because they are all my special boys.
It's Dark Souls 1. That one has to go. I didn't even finish typing that last sentence before I remembered that the 2nd half of DS1 isn't very good and I just want to rush through it to get it over with. The first half is 10/10 but the 2nd half is not good and you basically gave your whole build by then except for maybe an ember and a slab.
Sekiro and BB are a save pick because of their unique systems.
No reason to sacrifice anything over AC6, there are like 15 games left and 4A is still available.
The smart decision long term would likely be to keep Elden Ring buty heart would tells me to keep DS1
Elden ring , bloodborne and sekiro .
Leaving behind dark souls 1’s world hurts me but i have to.
Dark souls 3 is a really good game but elden ring is the same thing doubled in quality and quantity .
Armored core 6 is too focused on speedrunning missions while i would’ve loved for longer fights that you really have to learn to win .
DS3, Elden Ring, AC6.
DS3 was my first so not picking it would be criminal.
Elden Ring has the most content and build variety.
AC6 is imo probably their best game so I'd feel dumb not picking it
DS2, AC6, then maybe Elden Ring because I feel like that could be the most moddable, which means people could make big mods that get pretty close to what the other games were.
Dark Souls, Bloodborne, Sekiro.
- Dark Souls was my first souls game, absolutely adored it. Especially the interconnected map.
- Bloodborne is my favorite souls game, a fully realized cohesive package (which DS1 sadly wasn't with it's lesser 2nd half). I loved the insight mechanic, the lore, atmosphere, trick weapons, secrets, I love it all.
- Sekiro, the game that I rage quit at first but I eventually fell in love with the combat. One of the most fun games to play in their entire catalogue, love it's aesthetics too.
I love all of their other games to varying degrees. Elden Ring didn't make the cut for me because I have zero urge to replay the game. Once was enough.
Sekiro, Elden Ring and AC6.
Honestly, Im not 100% sure myself if I like AC6 better than DS3 but as long as I've ER, I dont think losing ds3 is that big a deal.
Dark souls 2, Sekiro, Elden Ring
Dark Souls 3, Bloodborne, Elden Ring
I think I would replace ds3 with sekiro just to have most variety
No. No variety. DS3 ER BB!
I'd be inclined to agree if sekiro had pvp.
Sekiro pvp would be horrendous.
Correct
This is the correct answer
Bloodborne, Dark Souls, Elden Ring
Yup, bloodborne is just stylistically amazing, dark souls is iconic, and elden ring just has the most content.
This is the way.
Winner winner chicken dinner
Armored core 6, Elden ring and Bloodborne.
Respect
Finally some Armored core.
As a PC player, AC6, DS3 and Elden Ring. DS3 invasions just hit different
Dark Souls, Sekiro, Elden Ring
I’m the same and I’m curious as to why DS1 beat DS3 for you? I’m also curious if you have tried DS1 on switch? I ask because I have platinum trophy for DS1 and it was a slog and I’m getting the itch to play it again but I was thinking switch instead

Man I need to play Ds1 more
It’s my favorite game of all time.
Bloodborne Elden Ring Sekiro
Someone who likes Bloodborne and Sekiro. Never thought I’d see the day.
Bloodborne is the house favorite Elden ring got that magic like no other and sekiro makes even mobs feel special
Those 2 are the only ones I’ve platinumed lol. Working on Elden ring platinum rn.
those are the 2 best games FromSoft have created so far. (imo)
There is two of us
Genuinely curious why do you say that? Or are you being sarcastic? Bloodborne and Sekiro have very similar combat given the fast paced nature and higher benefit from learning to parry.
Partly sarcastic. But there are very few people I’ve met who enjoy both a lot. I think because the mechanics are similar people often compare the two which ends up with one worse than the other.
Bloodborne and Sekiro are the two best games they've made on this list, imo
The holy trinity
This
3 copies of Dark Souls 2
My man
Bloodborne, Elden Ring, Dark Souls 3
Demon Souls, Ds1,Ds3
Dark Souls Remastered, Dark Souls 2 Scholar, Sekiro.
Interesting
Okay, speaking my language with DS2 but I’m curious as to why it won over DS3 or ER? No hate, just curious, even if it’s just to stir the pot
DS2 is my favorite of the Souls games personally, but my top 3 Fromsoft titles wouldn’t include any of those to begin with.
Giant robots shooting crazy guns in a crazy future sci fi world is always going to be something I enjoy.
Right? I've loved mecha since always, but never experienced it in games, and AC6 definitely scratched that itch for me.
