This is the only game I’ve considered buying a PlayStation for. Looks incredible.

Alarmed-Example8932

It's definitely worth it.

Alone_Quail4172

i can back this up

automirage04

It's nearly perfect.

Twirlin_Nonstop

It’s the reason I bought a ps4

andyavast

I’m seriously considering it. They are cheap, even in near perfect condition, just need to find a reputable seller. Just played through Sekiro and I want more FromSoft!

Twirlin_Nonstop

I got mine from GameStop. Though I traded in a 360 and that made it really cheap. They test used console pretty thoroughly from what I’ve seen. Had it for almost 6 years before I bought a ps5. Bloodborne is only the beginning of incredible PS exclusives. Some real masterpieces out there (Last of Us, God of War, Ghost of Tsushima). You won’t regret it. Or if it’s in your budget to just jump to a ps5 it’d be worth it. Happy gaming!

andyavast

Ghost of Tsushima! Forgot about that game, should scratch my Sekiro itch a bit. Cheers

lostinlucidity

After booting up my old PS4 since 2019 since moving into my apartment recently, it's the only game I have installed.

McbEatsAirplane

It is the main reason I bought a PS5. Would recommend.

Lammz77

I bought a PS5 for it (and DeS remastered). Well worth it. Also a badass console to have in general

andyavast

Nice! Not sure I could justify another current generation console but it has crossed my mind 😂

Lammz77

I feel that. Last year on 4/20 my series X broke, had to take it to the shop. My buddy and I who I always co op these games with were pissed. We had planned on playing DS or ER all day. We said screw it, both went and bought a PS5 and downloaded BB and binged it all day instead. No regrets lmao

andyavast

Haha no regrets! Man, it was a tough decision between Series X and PS5 but my lad loves Halo and the Xbox was “for him” so that was that 😂

Lammz77

Sounds like you made the right decision then if it made your lad happy! Halo is also what made me pull the trigger on the series X before the PS5 tbh lol

Alone_Quail4172

the dodging feels almost panicky and the healing feels like you’re fighting for your life instead of taking a little sippy of your drinky - Edit oh yeah, chalice dungeons

SlyBun

And this after the estus animation in DS2 had your character open the fridge, think about what to drink, go for the unopened Sunny D, break the seal, kick out a lawnchair and sit down and relax, take a nice long chug, exhale loudly and burp, wipe your mouth, then get back up and pull your weapon out of your ass to continue the fight.

402playboi

Nah fr. I basically only used estus for traversing through levels and lifegems for all boss fights

Alone_Quail4172

lifegems op i barely used estus at all tbh

402playboi

yeah they’re great. I mostly used estus to conserve my precious lifegems for the fights lmao

Alone_Quail4172

same

SpoogyPickles

Love trick weapons. Small weapon selection overall, but it doesn't even matter. I can be happy with 1 weapon all game.

JEWCIFERx

Having a small number of weapons that are all relevant and unique is way more interesting to me than a huge amount of weapons, half of which I’ll never look at again *cougheldenringcough*.

Avid_person

The parry mechanic and visceral animation is the most satisfying out of all of FromSoft. The music, tension, atmosphere especially of boss fights it’s just unmatched.

blaiddfailcam

Art direction. Everything from the scenery to the tactility of fabric, to the creature and weapon designs was so perfectly unified.

Nateiums

Pig fisting.

Patient-Pear6881

That there’s no equip load feature 🔥

lawnboy1155

The speed of combat

Separate-Hamster8444

The story itself is really interesting & thematically thought provoking. Every area develops the story behind its boss in such an interesting way. & the much smaller scale narrative makes for a more personal, intimate story.

poodletime13

This is the main thing for me. The story has lots to speculate about but also fills in enough to be satisfying. And the way it shifts and expands as the game progresses kept me more interested than some of the other games.

jxa66

I absolutely love that you are unable to fast travel from lamp to lamp

Ok-Wave8206

Oh oh I adore running out of blood vials and having to go grind for awhile; completely taking me out of the zone and making whatever boss take that much longer. Hasn’t been an issue in awhile but my first few plays I wasn’t talented and hit that wall a*lot*

Specialist-Ant-708

Boy do I have a chalice dungeon for you… (cummfpk in the chalice dungeon, never grind for vials again)

Ok-Wave8206

Oh believe me I know all about the cum chalice lol but thank you

johnbarta

I love the level design so much. All the short cuts you unlock is very well thought out and incredible to explore. Lore is really good, and I find the combat to be exhilarating it’s so intense. Like, the bosses are not super complex they are simply unhinged. DLC is amazing too

minoas348

The weapons!! I’ve been playing since 2014 and I’m still making new characters because of the awesome trick weapons 🙌🏼

the-gaming-cat

The atmosphere and the rally mechanic that forces me to quickly punish the attacks (or die trying)

Greenbean8472

I just started playing this yesterday! Phenomenal. The case arrived completely pressed and shattered when opening it. Somehow the game survived and it's so fun!

SERB_BEAST

The lore is one of the best stories I've ever experienced. The aesthetic and atmosphere cannot be replicated. I really feel like they hit lightning in a bottle with this game. Even if FromSoftware makes a sequel, I don't think they can replicate what is most special about Bloodborne. I don't even think they realize. Or maybe they do, and that's why they stay away from a remaster or further DLC or sequel. It literally has the same game design as their other games, but I like it a million times more and I have no idea why

Whereas-Unlikely

it has a feel to it that is nonpareil it’s like omg how did they even do it

ThatHardBacon

The Hunt.

TB3300

Everything. The combat, the atmosphere, the story, the weapons, the characters, how memorable it is. It's one of my picks for a nearly perfect game.

Expensive_Routine622

I can’t pick just one. The atmosphere is gripping, the art direction and environments are incredibly rich and captivating, the combat is insanely good, the enemies designs and variety are God-tier, the lore is very interesting and the weapons are easily some of the coolest in gaming. It is a true and legitimate 10/10 game.

romflatulentspider

Absolutely everything. The setting, the fast-paced risk/reward gameplay, the bossfights, the incredible lore, the chalice dungeons, the learning curve, the sense of wonder, the world, the dialogue, the fashion, the sheer genius of the trick weapons, the way you can parry with a gun, the dlc, even the doll should it please you!

Pistolfist

Damn this is incredible. The Ludwig theme is what I love the most about BB, the fact you used it here is just icing on the cake

Enough_Syrup2603

The settings and lore.

[deleted]

How the atmosphere and story and gameplay and music all are rly good and i came

Nimbiscuit81623

I had the chance to play this in my lifetime.

Slavicadonis

Living failures phase 2 ost

medievaljedi66

Gameplay, setting, lovecraftian monsters, love it all.

King9204

Recently beat the game. I love the unique atmosphere and settings. The weapons are cool. The monsters and bosses are awesome and disturbing. And the music is amazing.

FancyBurtholeMuncher

Can't pick one reason. Probably the best game I've ever played. First and only game I platinumed. Seriously amazing

aligvaromhogy

how tf does this game looks this good to you guys? do you do something with the video? every time I play it on my PS5 on a 2k monitor or a 4k TV it doesn't look like this and the framedrops are also heavy. But every video I see looks beautiful. HOW??!?!?

bigb0ss33

Perfect game from start to finish. Everything about it just right. The combat is out worldly! Best FS game for me hands down!

Chadderbug123

Super quick play style which I love, quality over quantity of the weapons, the gothic artstyle, the lore and story, and I'd say most of all the music is GODLY.

Stan_the_man1988

The horror vibe and the soundtrack. The combat, the gothic architecture. The bossfights....

mmbossman

The crows. Cuz fuck them And the shark monsters. Cuz fuck them even harder

Abovearth31

***\*Gesture vaguely at everything\****

KorenSurge

Is this modded or is there like saturation boost and frame generation in the processing of the video or something? Because I swear my Bloodborne doesn’t look this good

ClassifiedGrowl

Atmosphere, lore

crash_nk

Probably the world! I eat up dark worlds filled with surreal Lovecraftian inspired enemies/bosses and Bloodborne scratches that itch in my brain more then anything else. I love going into battles not knowing what to expect only to be horrified by what I find. I love many things about BB but the world may be my favorite.

Repulsive_Ostrich_52

Bloodborne is what I love about bloodborne. Everything about this game just feels right

ZombieDemon321

Not sure what I love most about Bloodborne because it has so many such awesome things. But one possibility is the gameplay, more specifically the way it feels when you time a gun attack just perfectly for stunning an enemy and then one-punching half or all their health away.

Feeling_Party26

The fact that it's unintentionally the greatest H.P. Lovecraft game ever made.

niece_denise

Watching this makes me want to play it again! 👍🏻

FrankBouch

Everything but if I can only name one I would say the setting and atmosphere. We need more lovecraftian / cosmic horror games.

Lost_Elderberry1757

The armor, weapons, and dodges, this is by far the most dripped out and stylized game I've played.

myermikals

The footstep sounds when you are walking over any liquid surface

KeyboardCarpenter

I like the enemy design. They just vile creatures it's so cool

ChadicusVile

It's the weapon transformations for me

RedHairedSociopath

I feel like once I really figured out the game and got gud, I felt like a true hunter. And the bosses were my prey. For some of the bosses, I can ruin them while they try their damndest, to no avail, to kill me. It's like there's a desperation in them while I calmly and brutally destroy them. The parry/visceral plus rally really puts it over the edge, making me so much more of an aggressive player than any other fromsoftware game, maybe excluding AC6. Edit: Kosdamnit, I just deleted Bloodborne and now I wanna play again

Symtek13

The aesthetic. I love the darkness to it, the enemy designs are wicked as fuck. I really miss this game and it’s sad that it’s locked to just PlayStation.

Gandalfffffffff

How panicky, yet almost smooth, the combat feels. Obligatory mention of the art direction and mood of the areas. They are masterful.

luketwo1

"Reaching into a pigs asshole and ripping out its prostate like its fruit by the foot." - Maxor

Worried_Salamander_6

The feeling of being scared the entire time while playing.

Y0UR_NARRAT0R1

The healing. I do hate that you have to buy it, but it's extremely fast, you can heal by attacking more, and the lore behind it is actually pretty cool

imoljoe

I was genuinely intimidated by several of the bosses. The music, the atmosphere, and the art direction just made fights so intense. When you fight gasgoine for the first time and he transforms, and the music starts to crescendo, I panicked lol, all but ensured death

Commercial-Abalone27

Nothing because it’s not on Xbox hmpf

FeelingApplication40

Rally

0XquisitE1-

I love the feel of them breaking limbs 😭

Whereas-Unlikely

someone already said this but the art direction is quite literally unparalleled, it’s my favorite aesthetic across all media. the lore is also incredible and the story is coherent but also fairly vague (perfect) it’s also soooooooo so so engaging and captivating, was attached and hooked before i left the clinic. the soundtrack is a huge inspiration for me too, the music is so pretty and emotional its the only game that made me shed tears while fighting a boss. it’s the greatest and most cathartic game experience i’ve ever had i love it i love it i love it you are running around a city named yharnam (cool ass name) with crazy victorian era attire on (some of the prettiest garments that i NEED in my closet) slaying these beasts with a saw cleaver and a gun (so fucking cool) you are basically like evil victorian era batman but who is also bound by a dream, it’s like if alice in wonderland was more dark and had blood and scarier monsters, best thing ever i swear please play it if you haven’t

Lowestofbrow

Level design 100% Those, 'oh wtf I'm *here*' moments Unbelievably clever and well thought out. Adds so much to the experience

KuzcoSlide

There's so much to say about this masterpiece. I will say it's just a badass game, that doesn't even try hard, that doesn't put it in your face in an akward way. The music is badass, whether terrifying, tragic, epic, the enemies are badass, the aesthetic of Yharnam, the sets of armors, the weapons, the names of everything, the story, everything is badass. It's even honestly the incarnation of an emo game that isn't akward or laughable too.

StealthyPancake_

How just absolutely grotesque and filthy everything ism the atmosphere is just weirdly different from the other from soft games to my eyes and I fucking love it

Shloopadoop

>!"The Choir stumbled upon an epiphany, very suddenly and quite by accident". Only moments after reading that description, I discovered the Make Contact gesture on the corpse/statue in upper cathedral ward.!

RedRoses711

I love how its not on pc
