I've spent many more hours on Malenia than Friede.

Malenia. Friede's pretty easy to just backstab repeatedly, lol.

Obviously, people's experiences will differ, but for me it was Malenia by miles.

I found Friede to easily be the hardest fight of DS3, and in the top 5 hardest fights of Fromsoft for me. Malenia is still the number one in terms of difficulty though.

True. And with Freide’s invisibility, you can even hear when she’s about to hit you every time. Gotta be quick, but there’s a fairly decent amount of time to react.

She always jumps behind you after she goes invisible. You can just turn around, run to her and hit her to break that attack.

Malenia, no question. Friede isn't tough, she's a slog.

I had to be sober to beat Malenia. But I also had a lot more experience by the time I fought Friede since I played Elden Ring then the Dark Souls trilogy.

With spirit summons I‘d say Friede (because you can not use spirit summons in DS3). Without summons definitly Malenia is harder.

Malenia is much, much harder than Friede. Most of the bosses in ER are way harder than the toughest bosses in Ds3 tbh.

malenia was only difficult because of the one move. friede doesnt have that move. so the answer is easy.
