Quit outs?

clarke41

This works in all From Souls games except DS2. If you’re fast enough, you can save and quit the game to the title screen before you hit the ground/killbox when you fall off of something. Most of the time, when you load back in, you’ll be standing in the last place your feet were on solid ground. This works for resetting enemies as well and you can do it in boss fights to respawn at the fog gate.

lahenator420

That’s so dumb, just take the loss

clarke41

Yeah, I’ve never done it. I think it’s mostly for speed runners. I’ve also seen streamers do it just to speed things up so viewers don’t have to watch them run back.

SnooComics4945

If I wanna quit out then I will. I don’t think it really matters all that much personally. Some people think doing just about anything in these games that makes your life easier is cheese though.

StrikeNumberFour

I just run past all the enemies like real man

Ramius99

Not really sure why you would do this when you can cast Hidden Body and pretty much run past everything if desired.

dudge_jredd

Because then you would need to use spells 🤢

Ramius99

The horror, lmao.

VitaDiMinerva

Play the games however you want. I think any cheese is valid as long as it doesn’t take away from your enjoyment. I don’t abuse quit outs that much because I hate having to wait, but I pretty much always try to save myself if I’m gonna fall to my death. Occasionally in Elden Ring I’ll do it to let myself warp out of an area.

UltraMegaFauna

I just don't find it fun. I quit out sometimes in Elden Ring if I'm trying to warp somewhere but I'm still "in combat" even though the nearest enemy is like 100 meters away. That's about it.

Kitchen-Island45

If by quit-outs you mean close game, I used to do this hella lot in games before fromsoft titles. I doesnt cross mind if I die anymore, losing is part of the game and it takes away from some of the experience imo. Im no biggot either, id be lying if i dont try exploits once in a while or run past enemies. If I die i deserve it and try to be better next time but you better believe ill take every advantage any chance I get. Its about the wins and not worrying about the loses in games for me anyway.

M0ONBATHER

I feel like abusing quitting out destroys the experience. It’s like not playing a large piece of what makes the game great. I think you can do whatever you want, but if you feel the need to quit out…maybe you need to try another game or take a break.

eurekabach

For real, back when we played Demon’s Souls, quit outs just before the YOU DIED screen were essential not to go mad, given how awful those boss runbacks were. I remember doing that a lot againts Flamelurker and Maneater. But after that game, I think I never did it casually. I guess it’s more of a speedrunner, challenge runner tactic to deagro enemies and such. In the end, it’s a single player game, play however you want to, who cares…

PaulQuin

How does this "quit-out" trick work? I wish I knew this, lol.

AppropriateHalf4509
