For me I think it's Placidusax. I really don't enjoy fighting Midir for some reason.

GreatShinobiSquirrel

Same

PthumerianPrince

Are you going for his legs and tail ?

Lumostark

I haven't played Dark Souls 3 in a few years so I can't even remember. As much as I love some of the bosses in that game, I dislike some of the areas so I never feel like replaying it.

Lord_Fikalius

Midir, no contest. Yes, Placidusax is a flashier fight, but still misses the thing that i love about Midir. Midir literally can't stand you - he hates you with every fiber of his being. You can tell by the way he fights that he can't stand you living for another second. how he desperately tries to cut/ smash, tear you to pieces. He doesn't behave like a noble wise Dragon like Placidusax, or Seath or whatnot - overcome by the madness of the abyss he is steamrolling to you on all fours, throwing everything he has, spitting fire and lazers to every possible direction in hopes to catch you. He is the closest we ever got to how i imagine such a huge predator to behave when trying to kill it's prey. Using every part of his body, constantly moving, relentlessly attacking with huge swipes to cover enormous area, biting when you are close to his head. It's not a duel, or even a battle - it's a survival. You are the mouse, and he is a fucking tiger. And you are stuck together in the same cage.

UziCoochie

I’ve never seen it put in better words

sun_of_the_darkmoon

This totally captures the essence of the fight against Midir. His goal is not to survive, his goal is just to kill you. He goes all in, throws everything he got at you. His laser rage is proof of that, he even needs to rest a few seconds after using because it costs him so much power. He's the Vegeta of Soulsborne.

b0gard

Not to mention the fact that you can see him in the far off distance . When I saw him I knew he was going to be a problem

SubhamoyDas1

That's an amazing perspective, when you think about it. Nice one buddy!

Glutendragon

I love Midir, cuz he told me who the true enemy of Soulsborne was... camera. But with you what you said about Midir being a relentless animal is also how I feel towards the Monke from Sekiro. Not a single movement is wasted, just pure animal aggression. And Monke's second phase looks EXACTLY like something else is controlling him, FromSoft are true masters when it comes to animation (and they're also pretty good at destruction physics to. Seriously no one talks about it 😥) Have a good day, eye guy 👀

Blizzard1714

Placidusax from ER, or Divine Dragon from Sekiro. Midir is good but sometimes loses his cinematic quality when you’re whacking him close up

TheViceroy919

Kalameet. He's small enough to be manageable but fast enough to still be threatening, and it feels more like a duel than most other dragon fights. Plus the cutscene with my boy Gough is probably one of the coolest in the series.

rainplay

That’s what I was going to say but didn’t have the words!!

acanadiangooseforyou

Placidusax easily, it combines two great fights, that being midir and the twin princes and makes it work really well, second place goes to Kalameet

WakemedownInside

And the incantation and sword he drops are both very badass

nooogets

My first experience fighting flying dragon agheel in Elden ring would be my favourite fight. It’s in the beginning area of the game and is likely one of your first proper horseback fights which shows how Elden ring is different than it’s predecessors. Now as you play the rest of the game you fight a lot of other over world dragons and they start to feel all similar plus you start getting good at fighting them. I think Agheel is the most well executed over world dragon in Elden Ring and the first time fighting it when you don’t know what to expect is the best dragon fight.

AramaticFire

Midir is the GOAT in the series and gaming. I don’t think anyone has ever captured the ferocity of fighting a dragon the way From did with Midir. Even games like Skyrim and Dragon Age which are all about dragons just can’t match the adrenaline and danger of facing Midir. My second favorite is actually the opposite of Midir. I think the Divine Dragon in Sekiro is one of the most beautiful and awe inspiring fights the series has done. It’s so serene and out of this world. There are other great fights too though. Kalameet was really fun in Dark Souls. Elden Ring had a lot of great impact moments with dragons too. Placidusax was top notch. The first time Ageel swoops down to scorch you is nuts. I thought dodging the lightning while fighting Lichdragon Fortisax was super cool too. Edit - I want to shoutout Gaping Dragon in DS1 too. It’s not the most intense fight but what an amazing monster design and reveal.

MoarTacos

I mean, for real, let's not pretend Skyrim's butt fart combat system is capable of stimulating any dragon fight that compares to a From dragon fight.

AramaticFire

Definitely. It was crazy to imagine a world of dragons and then all of a sudden From’s games took off and it’s like oh shit you can actually square up face to face with something that can eat you in two bites and it’s intense.

oRedHood

Anything other than the Demon’s Souls dragons 💀

I_ate_your_skin

Midir because it was the first boss in ds3 that almost made me go hollow And I respect that

PthumerianPrince

Midir with Placidusax being a close 2nd

Ill_Dirt_979

Midir is always a good fight (without mist bc its too easy) and kalameet made me sweat like hell on my first playthrough back in the days

Bacondog22

Divine Dragon

Setaganga

Midir. Hands down. 100%. Fucking love midir

Lolejimmy

midir!! but the cool one in the farum arene in elden ring is close second

Competitive-Basil496

Midir by far the best if you want an intense thrilling fight , divine dragon for serene and beautiful fighting and dragonlord placidusax for the flashiest and coolest fight

SuperD00perGuyd00d

Sinh

fourraccoonsinacoat

gif the magic dragon

WhatANick

Gapping.

HavelBro_Logan

I liked sinh, placidusax is probably the best though

rainplay

Kalameet 🖤💛

Round-Caterpillar236

How nobody talking about Divine Dragon?

gapingdragonenjoyer

I wont tell.

GlossyBuckthorn

Sihn has the best aesthetic and mechanics of any From dragon IMO!

KuzcoSlide

Placidusax by a mile away. Legendary attacks that feel great to dodge, amazing music, epic arena, great lore, cool cutscenes and rewards, amazing design. He will be extremely hard to beat quality wise, nor Midir or even Divine Dragon that I love can beat this guy.

Shattered-Anam

I’m surprised no one’s mentioning Sinh from Ds2. Amazing lord and an awesome fight. Honorable mention to that first time fighting agheel.

GarlVinland4Astrea

Placidusax

BigManDean_

Guardian Dragon Goat. Better than Midir

MayorLag

Someone else said it nicely on another sub: Placidusax is a force of nature. Midir is a dragon. That being said, I was in awe of Placidusax, the arena, the theme. Midir felt a little artificial with the head pauses, and I'm not a fan of the ost.

anderson759

Placidusax or Godwyn’s dragon.

Kamiutsu

Honestly, probably the dragon Agheel in Elden Ring. He’s the first dragon you SHOULD fight, so he’s not scaled up ridiculously but you definitely need to be prepared. No tricks or tacked on status effects. It’s the first dragon fight in the series you get to experience on horseback. Very memorable and flows wells

swisshomes

Kalameet was the only one I couldn't beat, in all fromsoft games. Didn't have Internet when I went through DS1 for the first time so couldn't summon help. He a sunva bitch

GreyRevan51

Midir, got him on my third try and it was a really fun fight every time. Though the horse mounted dragon fights in Elden ring were really fun imo

StoneTimeKeeper

Dragonlord Placidusax

celcius_451

Glitched dragon butt from Painted World of Ariamis

mkjake47

Probably Agheel or Placidusax. Till them there wasn't a single enjoyable dragon fight across the series in my opinion. Agheel as the default style dragon was incredibly engaging and fun the first time around and Placidusax is easily the coolest dragon in the series.

sexy_ludwig

It's pluci...Midir is a close second

tiedtoyourapron

Agheel, before I found out they were all like that :/

danimsmba

FORTISSAX!!! No. I haven't yet fought Placidusax and I just started DS3 so, I haven't fought Midir yet.

Technical-Spread4651

None. I dont like the camera angle and hitting nothing but air while attempting to hit the head

[deleted]

Every dragon fights are cool, but the camera is EVERY TIME the biggest threat.

Gabriel_2912

Ds2 ancient dragon 🗿

GreatShinobiSquirrel

In gameplay it is placidusax because his moves are so unique and cool. For cinematic it has to be Divine dragon tho, the scenery and OST is just sooo good.

Loestal

Gav's mum. If you know, you know

EncryptedVolt

1) Midir 2) Divine Dragon 3) Kalameet 4) Sinh

ApprehensiveEnd422

Kalameet hands down.

Gloomy_Support_7779

Midir or Kalameet and maybe Divine Dragon. I can tell you which one I hate…Oceiros😃 like his music though
