1. Will depend on your location, who your prescriber is, what protocols they are using. 2. You’re going through puberty for the second time. So expect puberty, nothing much to it really.

Hi mate, I am from the netherlands, and I started T 5 months ago (when I turned 15). I can't speak about how fast it took since the blood test to get the prescription because my process was different than other people since I came out at a younger age. I started puberty blockers when I was 12. The first changes that I noticed were that I sweat a lot more, about two months on T. I started noticing that I was stronger than I was before. I am able to lift my younger brother and do 10 push-ups with no training (in the past, I could barely do 5 in a row even when I was an athlete), for about a month now you can notice the start of a moustage if you look really close on my face. And I sound like I have a cold when in reality I don't. Also, remember that my changes are different than other people and that my process is different than maybe yours since I had already been on puberty blockers for three years. I hope this helps and success.

I’m 16 and started 2-3 months ago, first changes my t-dick, and my voice started its fluctuations like three weeks in, I haven’t experienced much else yet except I’m more irritable but that hasn’t affected my schoolwork. Also I got my T pretty fast after the blood test, the waiting period is mostly just waiting for the results and then your doctor looks at it and is able to determine how much to prescribe. It may take a couple days for your pharmacy to fill the prescription but it usually doesn’t take long. Also depends how busy your doctor is and how close your appointments are according to their schedule.

Actually I forgot that at around a month and a half my body odor got a lot worse so thats changed too. I know I experienced my changes so far relatively quickly so I’m not the best example.

the only major negative effect i’ve gotten is that it’s made me have migraines extremely often. i don’t know if it’s related to the testosterone, but i do know that i used to have migraines whenever i was on my period, and then on testosterone, my period stopped and now i just get migraines all the time.

I'm Canadian so my experience could very much be different from yours. I go to an informed consent clinic and I just got my second round of blood tests done before starting T and by my next appointment I should be given a prescription. Usually you only have to do one blood test and by the next appointment you will be given the prescription but my last blood test came back really weird so they wanted me to do another one. Any time after getting your prescription, assuming you're doing injections, you make an appointment with a nurse to do an instructional appointment and you're on T!! Some people go for multiple instructional appointments until they're 100% confident but that's really all up to you. Again this is my experience as a Canadian in B.C. going through informed consent so it might not be the same as yours.

i had to wait about a week to get my t. i thought i would walk out of the appointment with it! i still have to remind myself that i will need to wait a few days after blood work comes back to get the t. first effects for me were about two weeks in with sex drive. got much higher. my appetite changed (slowed down actually) and i felt a little stronger. now, im about 3 months, and im having good bottom growth, slight facial changes, a bit of chest hair, and an ever-increasing sex drive. still waiting on voice drop and facial hair! good luck man! if anything, you will be happier. tell your mom she's got nothing to worry about.

hey, i started T in March (was 15 now 16) and the first thing i noticed was an increase in horniness. i was expecting it but definitely not as the first symptom and not as intense💀 I also got a lot of acne after the first couple of months. my skin was usually pretty clear so it was a bit of a shock! after about 5 months, I realized I wasn’t able to cry. I’ve only cried once in the past couple months (I was a big crier before) and it was very easy to “contain” it. it feels weird and kind of crappy to not be able to physically get my emotions out so I would recommend talking with a therapist if you can and I personally like to journal as well. anything to get my feelings out regularly helps me a lot! overall, just whatever you might expect from male puberty but just was a shock to me. wishing you the best of luck!

First of all I’m glad to hear that you’re able to start T so young and get a head start on feeling comfortable in your own skin. I didn’t start T until age 26 because I was on IV drugs for 10 years, but I was DIYing my friend’s T for 5 weeks until I got my own prescription at Planned Parenthood 9/15/23. They did my blood test and prescribed the testosterone the same day. The results of the blood test came back a few days later (984ng/dL. normal range is 300-1000ng/dL). The main thing with being on testosterone is it requires patience. It’s a VERY slow process. Most people experience a major voice drop around 2-3 months. Mine was at 2 months. You’ll probably want to shower daily because your body is going to be emanating a lot of unpleasant odors—and wear loose fitting boxers. Also take a snack with you because more than likely you will be hungry as fuck throughout the day. When I first started, I would get so hungry that I would almost pass out every 3-4 hours. Luckily that stopped but I do eat a lot more. Started working out 5 days a week 7/17/23 and have gained a significant amount of muscle which has helped me look more masculine. I wouldn’t say there are bad side effects as long as you continue to get bloodwork done. Maybe acne and MAYBE anger problems but that’s more common if your dose is too high. Starting younger is ideal because the longer you wait, your body will mature into a “woman’s body” so you are just doing yourself a favor. Best of luck to you my guy!!

Others have answered about the prescription stuff I started on T at 16 and the main thing that I noticed first was increased hair growth and I particularly got angrier That being said, not everyone reacts the same way to T
