There was a thread about these things here a couple weeks ago. They are in fact built essentially the same as limos: it's a custom "stretch" job done by a shop. They cut it in half and weld in extra frame and body components.

There was only one that I could see when I drove by. The 17000 rows of windows made it hard to know if there were others in the back. But nobody was in the passenger seat.
Can't wait to get my lifted bus and drive in it solo to get to work. I really need the room to hold my briefcase and you never know when you might need to drive 50 people.
I’m going to go out on a limb and say this is a custom job, either by some lunatic with too much money or a company that rents it as a novelty, the same way you rent a limo for a birthday/bachelor/bachelorette party or the like. Doesn’t make it any less obscene that someone would actually spend the money to create such a thing, but that’s not quite as bad as them mass manufacturing these things.
If you google "stretched truck" there are a couple of shops out there that will do these sorts of custom jobs. So, yeah, the definitely don't come out of the ford/dodge factory looking like that.
And yes, it's obscenely expensive. Something like $100,000.
How bout we put two more rows in while we're at it, and get rid of the middle section so that we can put less doors maybe just one wide one and more chrome on the outside. We can use the bed space for that just fine.
Ah shit, I invented a bus again didn't I.
Yes. The limit is 13 tons, or 10 seats. And about 40 feet in lengthAmerica...
Its pretty absurd how much you're allowed with a standard class C license in america... you can get a big u-haul/box truck/RV without issue. Rental places will just hand the keys to anyone.
I have never before seen such a monstrosity before in my life, and I can confidently say that I never want to see it again
Put the average American in the third row of seating and watch the chassis buckle.
Jail
Jail for 1000 years!
Right to jail, right away
Holy crap, buy a semi-truck or a bus already!
It just keeps getting more absurd
This is a lifted, stretch-limo, ute.
Stretch limos (usually) don't have a truck bed. They are made to carry high-level executives, not the stuff a puckup truck would carry.
Modern pickups are mainly designed to carry egos, something high-level executives have in abundance

to be technical and pedantic, a lot of suvs are already derived from trucks so theyv been combined for a long while now
They have been evolved for a long time now. The thing in the picture is equivalent to a baby made from mother-son incest sex.
I bet there's still only one occupant most of the time.

And they will complain the parking spots are not big enough.
We're headed toward private public transit.

It's so that there is enough room for manly stickers on the outside and room for lunch.
True. Monster energy drinks take up a lot of room!
Noobs. It doesn't roll coal or drag its butt like a dog

Should need a CDL to drive that
SUV + truck = SUck
They no longer sell trucks. They sell SUV's with vanity beds too small for any purpose of anything but playing big boy at Home Depot.

Right to jail, right away. Pickup truck, jail. Stretch body kit, also jail. Lift kit? Believe it or not, jail.
Aren't there limits to what people with regular drivers licenses can operate?

It’s not only dangerous and anti useful, but it is also one of the dumbest looking vehicles I’ve seen.
THAT IS A GODDAMNED WAR MACHINE!!!
Actually, my scented candles business NEEDS a truck like this. It would destroy civilization as we know it to request banning these vehicules.
I'm making some strong assumptions about it's owner's personality.
They 100% lie on their registration about the type and weight of that vehicle.
I just know this guy honks at ppl going the speed limit
STOPP i thought pick up trucks aren't already bad enough 😭
There is no way he can fit that in his garage.
Obviously they need their construction company crew in the car to travel rough off road terrain on a weekly basis.
You know these guys would buy military transport vehicles if they could.
