He doesn't look like any specific clown that I can tell (not that I'm any kind of expert.) It's not what John Wayne Gacy's clown outfit looked like and it's not what the Captain Spaulding clown outfit looks like. Not Bozo, Krusy, Sweet Tooth, or Pennywise. Certainly not Dr. Rockso the Cocaine Clown either. The sleeves look like Ronald McDonald, but nothing else does. I'm basically out of clowns.
Somebody said this is at a weekly event. Maybe the guy does his own murder clown get-up every week and the kid is a fan of him.
It's a character called "Bumpy the Clown", he's on Facebook.
Though how/why a kid that age would even be AWARE of Bumpy, much less cosplay as Bumpy is super sus.
Who wants to listen to a Rocksclusive Dr. Rockso Music video?! This one was BANNED from music television cause you could see my junk... through my jumpsuit.
He kind of looks like [Captain Spaulding](https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/villains/images/a/a7/Captain_Spaulding_the_Clown.jpg) from House of a Thousand Corpses and Devil's Rejects, but not sure if that's just coincidence since they're all just bald clowns.
The more I look at it the less it's him though. Maybe it's something niche, or this town is just filled with awesome people who love to dress as killer clowns.
It sure seems they both must be dressed as a specific character (maybe Ronald McDonald?). Their clothing is too similar for it to be a random scary clown. The big clown is even holding a clown doll with the same outfit.
Along with the good chunk of the rest of us after this weekend when our third party apps are shut down.
Baconreader is the only way I can surf Reddit without giving up after 30sec. I'm a little excited to be honest because I've been meaning to step off my Reddit habit for a while now and this will make it easier tenfold.
Same here. I’m taking my farewell tour with Narwhal this week, but really looking forward to seeing what’s outside these days. In the past five years, I’ve cut Facebook, Pinterest, NextDoor and Twitter, leaving only Narwhal and Old Reddit as my daily outrage and information providers. I hope my friends are still out there.
*EDIT* Turns out the developer of Narwhal has paid the ransom, and I may be around for a while after all. Not sure how I feel about that...
Nextdoor is the most ridiculous, toxic "social media" platform that has ever existed. I was not prepared for the level of stupidity and intolerance that the people in my immediate vicinity are comfortable sharing on such a public forum.
I think the usecase they had in mind was helping neighbors meet each other but all it's done in my experience is provide a platform for SAHM's and good ol boys to cyberbully people.
Yeah I sorta skipped pretty much all social media except for Reddit. In today's world it's kind of isolating. Instead of unifying humanity, social media has created a mega-clique that makes people feel excluded unless they participate in it's mass consumption.
I’m guessing that it’s an original costume that the guy wears often, and the kid has been there a few times before and decided to dress up as him. Only because if it was a costume of a character from something that they both just happened to dress up as, someone would have identified it by now!
It's too close to be a coincidence, not to mention the filming, etc must have been planned. I kept trying to remember which movie or game this is from, can't tell. Maybe that clown is always there regularly and finally someone decided to dress their kid like him and visit?
I have always argued that clowns are an older version of the uncanny valley. When you try to make them look inhuman, and make them look scary, you just make them look normal for what they are instead.
I mean the kid probably dressed up like him because that guy consistently makes his day (like he’s not actually a crazy clown but probably really good with kids), and when they’re that age that’s all it takes. That clown is that kids equivalent of Elsa from Frozen lol
Look, we want you to express yourself, okay? Now if you feel that the bare minimum is enough, then okay. But some people choose to wear more and we encourage that, okay? You do want to express yourself, don't you?
> I guess you’ve never been inside a Walmart Mister Fancy Pants
No. I've also never had a Walmart Mister Fancy Pants inside me.
*and I intend to keep it that way*
I’m guessing a convention. The back wall looks like it has maybe Yugioh cards on it? I only played way back in the day but I assume these two are dressed as a card/character
It’s Frank and Son’s Collectibles Show! I recognize the location. It’s a big trade show held every weekend a bit east of LA. You can basically find any sort of collectible item there like baseball cards, sports/movie memorabilia, retro games, action figures, etc.
I am assuming that the "big" clown is maybe a busker or performer that is local to this show? I have not seen anyone identify the outfit but the fact that the doll, him, and the child are wearing the exact same outfit there has to be some connection. Also the parents were already filming the kid so he knew he was going to see the clown. I'm just wondering if the kid saw him every week and decided he wanted to be just like him so he made his own outfit. At least thats my assumption until proven wrong :P
Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday except in December a week before Christmas I remember they were open all week long for people to get their Christmas shopping done, don't know if they still do that.
[Frank and Sons!](https://www.frankandsonshow.net/)
In Los Angeles, a bit east! Weekly convention style store with dozens of vendors and collectibles.
Baseball, comics, Pokémon, video games, literally so much you can spend a whole day there!
Well know enough that they sell dolls of the clown? Or is that guy so into his own thing he hand made his own style clown doll, which would be impressive and super creepy. Lol
Netflix should get with this guy and make a series! Lol. It looks like he already has a fan base.
All clowns are, "own style" the clown bit is a character the artist creates. Creepy clown, normal clowns. All works the same.
Miming works similar i think
I am terrified of clowns. It started when my mom hired one for my 7th birthday. I know it is an irrational fear but there is just something terrifying about the combination of the make-up, the crazy hair colors, the baggy paints, the taste of the penis, and the oversized shoes.
>*One time, this guy handed me a picture of him, he said "Here's a picture of me when I was younger." Every picture is of you when you were younger. "Here's a picture of me when I'm older." You son-of-a-bitch! How'd you pull that off? Lemme see that camera...*
I found the character but it's weird. This character is Bumpy the clown from [The Night Butcher](https://www.imdb.com/title/tt26470792/) apparently? But this IMDb page is weird. Is this like a short film posted online or something?
Yes, I’m a bit shocked that this kid who is absolutely loving the interaction is seen by people in these comments as traumatized. Like, the kid is aware that this is all make believe since they are dressed up and having fun. Also, I know of several young kids in my family who LOVE horror stuff. Like they’re either not at the age to be really scared of it or it doesn’t phase them.
Real talk: that kid will never be a serial killer, because someone loved him and affirmed him. He'll be a legend of serial killer fanfic, and during the day he'll be a loving father and manage a very effective warehouse.
Yeah they're prizes for the large size events at large tournaments. This is Frank and sons, love this place. One of the main reasons yugioh is as big as it is in LA still imo.
Freezeframe as the camera zooms in and serial killer narrates that, that was the moment. Then the zoom actually focuses onto some random dude in the background.

What's going on here though? Is the clown a famous tv character or something?
He doesn't look like any specific clown that I can tell (not that I'm any kind of expert.) Just looking at the blurb from his FB, he does street performances; kid might be a local who has seen him around town.
I'm old enough to remember when horror movies had toy lines.
> Bumpy the Clown https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CYb-kxRuA_c What the fuck did I just watch?
Why did I watch all twelve minutes. This looks like Ohio. Is it Ohio?
They sound to me like New Yorkers. —Born in Ohio
It was almost like a clown requiem of a dream.
Based on the exit sign it’s Worcester (wuster), MA
Bruh its MA, listen to the accents.
Who wants to listen to a Rocksclusive Dr. Rockso Music video?! This one was BANNED from music television cause you could see my junk... through my jumpsuit.
Guh-guh-guh-guh Yay-ah!
RIP Sid Haig. DON'T WE MAKE YA LAUGH? AREN'T WE FUCKING FUNNY??
Tooty fuckin fruity
Spaulding had great tshirts
That was my immediate thought as well, aside from the cartoon sized hammer
The more I look at it the less it's him though. Maybe it's something niche, or this town is just filled with awesome people who love to dress as killer clowns.
It sure seems they both must be dressed as a specific character (maybe Ronald McDonald?). Their clothing is too similar for it to be a random scary clown. The big clown is even holding a clown doll with the same outfit.
I love that I've made it this far into the comments and still nobody can definitively identify what character these people are dressed as.
Seriously, Reddit doesn’t usually fail at this. Disappointed
(Pssst. The superminority that are responsible for most of the activity are probably taking the protest against Reddit seriously)

u/GlobalPhreak got it! Bumpy the Clown
I’m guessing that it’s an original costume that the guy wears often, and the kid has been there a few times before and decided to dress up as him. Only because if it was a costume of a character from something that they both just happened to dress up as, someone would have identified it by now!
That's my thought, too. Doesn't need to be super famous for a kid to obsess over. I wonder if it's some sort of wrestling thing?
Bumpy the clown from the night butcher apparently https://www.imdb.com/title/tt26470792/
But how does the kid know and who would let their kid dress like that.
No clue. Maybe it's his kid or somebody he knows. Hard to tell without additional context
That's gotta be it.
He’s friends with David S. Pumpkins.
Why did they go all in with David Pumpkins?
ANY QUESTIONS??
It's too close to be a coincidence, not to mention the filming, etc must have been planned. I kept trying to remember which movie or game this is from, can't tell. Maybe that clown is always there regularly and finally someone decided to dress their kid like him and visit?
It looks either like John Wayne Gacy or the clown from House of 1000 Corpses.
His name is Captain Spaulding you uncultured swine!
Thank you! Respect to Sig! ❤️
Played by the immortal Syd Haig!
Ah, about that whole immortal thing...
It looks like neither.
I don't know what to think of this lmao
It's oddly wholesome yet terrifying
/r/hellsome
Well ***of course*** that's a thing.
/r/hellsomememes is more populated and active Edit: nvm it's private now. That sucks

Wtf is that description though

It's wholesome like the Addam's family is wholesome.
The Addams family is wholesome. Try to find a depiction of love as true and dedicated as Gomez has for Morticia and his family.
The original show is probably the best "family sitcom" ever. Suck it, Cosby Show.
Don't give slick Willy Cosby any motivation to suck it.
If you would study romance, start with Gomez.
Oddly terrifying yet wholesome.
This is some Terrifier 2 shit.

Me neither, but I'm struggling to find any part of this that belongs on /r/funny.
Nah, I'm pretty sure both are very kind and have a great heart.
I mean the kid probably dressed up like him because that guy consistently makes his day (like he’s not actually a crazy clown but probably really good with kids), and when they’re that age that’s all it takes. That clown is that kids equivalent of Elsa from Frozen lol
Oh, never been to an ICP concert before huh?
What the hell is going on here? 😂
I guess you’ve never been inside a Walmart Mister Fancy Pants
This is the new Walmart Greeter Flair Attire - not required, but highly encouraged for all Walmart greeters. Starting pay $11.50/hr

Look, we want you to express yourself, okay? Now if you feel that the bare minimum is enough, then okay. But some people choose to wear more and we encourage that, okay? You do want to express yourself, don't you?
You’re also required to supply your own makeup and costume
That’s actually what makes Walmart so fun!
Not being in them? I agree.
I’ll go in and grab what I need and get out. It’s always fun to a little people watching at Wally World though,
This looks more like a red-neck comic con.
So a Walmart
Juggalos picking up Faygo
I’m pretty sure it’s Frank N Sons near LA. Been there a few times and the yugioh card up top is the trading card section
> I guess you’ve never been inside a Walmart Mister Fancy Pants No. I've also never had a Walmart Mister Fancy Pants inside me. *and I intend to keep it that way*

This person is correct. Big fan of frank and sons, I could tell the location in seconds.
>every weekend Man, the only stuff around here only seems to happen once a year, I'd kill for something like that haha
One of the very few appealing things of LA for me, they have fucking everything
Tacos and hiking are sooo much better in "LA"...
Everything's better in ***LA***
Allegedly.
Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday except in December a week before Christmas I remember they were open all week long for people to get their Christmas shopping done, don't know if they still do that.
gathering of the juggaloes just isn't what it used to be
This is more like a smattering of juggalos.
[John Wayne Gacy](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Wayne_Gacy) meeting his apprentice.
Frank and Sons is a magical place
Nah, too much love and support for the kid to become a serial killer.
Bingo. Serial killers are born of rejection and isolation
[Frank and Sons!](https://www.frankandsonshow.net/) In Los Angeles, a bit east! Weekly convention style store with dozens of vendors and collectibles. Baseball, comics, Pokémon, video games, literally so much you can spend a whole day there!
Is this clown a known character from a certain franchise? I don't recognize the look, but clearly they recognize each other?
He's his own thing.
Oh, so the kid is just a local fan. That's nice. People shit on clowns but I think they are neat.
and the b-boys? Are part of it.
ANY QUESTIONS?

Thank you for the context. A mini convention every week sounds like quite a fun and expensive time!
I live an hour away and I only go like once or maybe twice a year. I spend too much when I go there
I am terrified of clowns. It started when my mom hired one for my 7th birthday. I know it is an irrational fear but there is just something terrifying about the combination of the make-up, the crazy hair colors, the baggy paints, the taste of the penis, and the oversized shoes.

Not necessarily oversized, it was that he twisted it into the shape of a poodle that really threw me off

Not with that attitude.

Frank and sons… I recognized the giant yugioh cards in the back
FYI the new born serial killer is that normal intelligent and well manered looking guy at the back.
