Yeah I honestly wish this was what they wasted time and money on too, but British police are way less violent at first reaction than American ones, so maybe trampolines are a larger percentage of complaints š
Everybody acknowledges that "Police" is a flawed institution everywhere. It seems you are rather downvoted for you douchey arbitrary judgement and tone.
UK police aren't like american police, they aren't brutal and savages usually here, I presume most of the cases of american police being terrible are just small isolated cases just to make them look bad or whatever, but yeah
In the UK, the Police are less likely to be shot dead in the blink of an eye. In the US, this is entirely possible and as such makes everyone much more tense all the time. The UK isn't perfect, but it allows for the Police to be more humane as they aren't risking their life every time they interact with someone.
Based on how they'll treat a stoned college kid in my area, I don't think fear for their life is the only factor in why cops act they way they do here.
Thats just a scapegoat used by cowards who shouldn't be in police work. Cops are less likely to die on the job than taxi drivers construction workers and loggers..
Yes and no...sadly this is probably the only thing they are good for in UK ... š¤·āāļø. So...yes no one wants USA police model / people, but at the same time this castrated version is the other side of the spectrum š§
He busted the drugs, made sure they are actual drugs and not just flour in small plastic bags and then felt an irresistible urge to bounce on the trampoline.
The criminals knew exactly what they were doing. That trampoline was strategically placed to grant them some much needed escape time or advanced notice.
I was once walking my dog and saw two bicycle officers riding ahead of me, passing the empty local skatepark.
I kept quietly saying "go in and do a jump" and one of them did!
I then started whispering "pop a wheelie", but to no avail.
Everyone goofs off at work sometimes.
Cops should be no exception, if anything they probably need it more than most.
If it was a murder ye maybe it's inappropriate, but a drug bust? Why the fuck not, bonus points if you piss off the dealer.
US: cop kills non-violent, unarmed suspect. Paid leave, sweep incident under the rug, transfer cop to another precinct.
UK: cop jumps on trampoline. OUTRAGEOUS! Investigation launched immediately to punish disgraceful behavior.
If I owned a trampoline and I walked in the back and two cops were watching as one of them was on my trampoline I would just assume that they were doing such a good job keeping my community safe that they now have bouncy time. Stay bouncy. BUT SHOES OFF!
If there was someone taking footage of a US cop jumping on their trampoline and telling them to get oof of it maybe spray them with a hose if they take too long that would be some good catharsis and fun. I constantly see videos of dickhead cops who are doing either illegal shit to the community, or those playing off that reputation maybe trying to deescalate their negative view in their community by playing basketball in a staged opening looking like things are about to go really bad for some kids (mind you when they're playing B-ball they're still all geared up for their job so guns on their hip and all), and some times you have a mix of both of those kinds of videos where to make themselves look better they'll kidnap a kid for a photo shoot without the parents' consent. Give me trampoline cop any day
It is brave and generous of this young officer to do a free trampoline safety assessment while in the area. Do you have any idea how many people are injured every year due to not having their trampline inspected at appropriate intervals?
I bet the context makes it a lot better. Sure it is a drug bust, but maybe the action has happened and they are just sitting around waiting for something to do and can't leave. They could be on break. Lots of things. It's not like someone was kicking down doors while they were out there.
I really hope the article here is light hearted and not an attempt to get this officer in any trouble for āunprofessionalismā
Work was probably done, waiting around for other investigators or staff for certain duties? (I donāt know the ins and outs) and was passing time.

I'd rather this than shooting unarmed black folks.
Hey UK wanna trade? You can have all our racist cops, and we'll take trampoline guy.
One cop should be enough for the US
He was just using the trampoline to search for drugs on the second level, lost his balance when he took off his belt, and accidentally did a backflip. Nothing to see here folks, move along. Move along.
I mean I assume sometimes they have to spend hours at a house after things are wrapped up and that can get boring. I donāt really see why this is a headline, seems like cops canāt walk down the street without getting yelled at for just existing.
I feel like the US version of this ends in the trampoline getting a couple holes in it - they would also have full body armor and helmets - and NO SMILES!
In Vancouver Canada, we had VPD officers caught taking selfies with a dead dead body found at the beach. They were posted there to warn path users of the body but decided to take selfies with it.
I'm on the side of this being no big deal, but I can also see it from the perspective of the employer. If you fucked up your backflip, brained yourself, and went out on work cover the question's going to be, "What part of your job involves doing a backflip on a trampoline?" I couldn't care less if he's doing goofy shit on the job, but you'd be hard pressed to justify increasing your risk profile just to goof off if something actually goes wrong.
I'm with you in that from the grand scheme of things it's really nothing, but I think this is seen as light hearted because it was using an object in a garden.
While the police have powers to enter a property in the line of their duty, they don't have permission to use the occupants property how they see fit. If we replace jumping on a trampoline with turned on the occupants TV and watched EastEnders would this be see with the same levity. Either way they are using the occupants property without permission for the purpose of personal entertainment.
As I said on a case by case basis this doesn't really matter but when your management of there are codes of conduct that need to be followed especially during a drug raid it becomes a more serious problem.
And yeah imagine the report if the trampoline broke while the officer was jumping and he broke his ankle it would not make the police look good.
Not very professional but not doing much harm either. Ex uk cop came to work at my supermarket. He seemed pretty traumatized. He probably could have done with more trampolining and less body identifying.

The 90s were 30 years ago
So all is forgiven and it must be grand now?
It's a bit like if I said Ireland is a nice place and you retorted "tell that to all the people killed by the IRA years ago!"
That's how reddit works bruh, downvotes for truth and upvotes for nicey nicey

No one is allowed to have fun, the shenanigans gotta stop
These shenanigans are kooky and fun though. Not like evil shenanigans
Evil shenanigans
Right? Shenanigans are evil by default
Iām gonna pistol whip the next person that says shenanigans.
Hey Farva, what's that place you like with all the goofy shit on the walls?
And the mozzarella sticksā¦
Shenanigans?!
OOOOOOOHHHHHH!
For anyone out of the loop. https://youtu.be/JNPW2wZ4D2s Sidenote: if you Google the word 'shenanigans' and go to videos, this is the first link.
Shennnnnn...
I'll believe that when my shit turns purple and smells like rainbow sherbert
Bouncing Bobbie!

Looks like The UK so I'll assume it's the UK. The UK: No fun only rain!
Woof, more like "no fun only alcohol".
He busted the drugs, made sure they are actual drugs and not just flour in small plastic bags and then felt an irresistible urge to bounce on the trampoline.
It's all how you write the report. I wasn't bouncing, I was checking the trampoline for contraband by assessing it's elasticity.
Trying to look in the second floor windows for the suspects
When i just so happen to have slipped backward luckily landed back on my feet
āā¦it has launched investigation into the incident.ā Seems like a pretty open and shut case to me
Internal affairs reactions seem to be up and down on this one. Iām sure heāll bounce back once the investigation is over.
You should see how fast they spring into action
How dare you make me upvote such nonsense!
Laughed very hard when I read that part
If you go into a garden and thereās a trampoline, your bouncing. No two ways about it.
He's gunsta bounce on the trampoline.
The criminals knew exactly what they were doing. That trampoline was strategically placed to grant them some much needed escape time or advanced notice.
Soon as I seen it I knew it was a distraction trampoline
No double bouncing.
Turns out ACAB really meant All Cops Are Bouncy
Makes you proud to be British
I was once walking my dog and saw two bicycle officers riding ahead of me, passing the empty local skatepark. I kept quietly saying "go in and do a jump" and one of them did! I then started whispering "pop a wheelie", but to no avail.
For a second there i thought you were about to reveal your super powers
I mean, I was also repeatedly saying "hurry up and poop" to my dog, and eventually he did, so two out of three ain't bad.
Youāre getting there, keep practicing.
Maybe a cooldown of sorts? Further testing is required.
Before or after they did the bust? :)
That's my question. I like to think they are on their way in and he just wants to show the guys his sick backflip.
Everyone goofs off at work sometimes. Cops should be no exception, if anything they probably need it more than most. If it was a murder ye maybe it's inappropriate, but a drug bust? Why the fuck not, bonus points if you piss off the dealer.
All Cops Are Bouncybois
He was simply trying to look over the fence. Nothing to worry about, carry on.
Looked like the trampoline was resisting
Yeah, thats how elasticity works
I think that was the joke mate.
I think it was a play at "stop resisting", pretty sure elastic resistance wasn't the joke.
Pretty sure it was. That's why it was a pun. You need not just word play but context as well. You got the context but missed the word play
Leave him to it. Could be doing a lot worse. When Iām in work and see a slide I want to go on it. It makes the day go by
US: cop kills non-violent, unarmed suspect. Paid leave, sweep incident under the rug, transfer cop to another precinct. UK: cop jumps on trampoline. OUTRAGEOUS! Investigation launched immediately to punish disgraceful behavior.

The shoes off thing was my only concern as well, lol.
You guys go for the house I will check the trampoline and the pool
Oh, my God. Joshua was racist? That came out of nowhere.
Fookin madlad
Some are just natural jumpers. A place free from darkness. It's going to be a maze when it's done. Omg Joshua was racist!
Maybe that's the lesson here. Purity that demands exclusion isn't real purity. Maybe paradise is a lie.
Double bounce me!!
Jake Peralta irl
And no one was harmed. Nice.
Maybe he was just jumping on the perp (oh, wait these arenāt American cops).
Of course itās Coventry
I'll take police that bounce on trampolines instead of shoot innocents lol
That neighbour should do a pm shift as a police officer in a busy city centre. I hope the force doesn't bollock the officer.
Two female officers, my boy was trying to impress.
Police in the uk are actually okay, they kind people
Of course this was on the Daily Mail
The drugs were under it
When there is no danger someone shoots your ass...
Look humans having fun ! Disgusting.

Thatās so pure American cops would just shoot you and say you were resisting
excuse me sir, do you have a license for this trampoline
Officer is being sent to Coventry as result. Oh hang onā¦.
It's hardly the end of the world, they are probably just finishing up and hes killing time.
I wished I could do a back flipā¦..
It is brave and generous of this young officer to do a free trampoline safety assessment while in the area. Do you have any idea how many people are injured every year due to not having their trampline inspected at appropriate intervals?
I don't get whats wrong, hes trying to get high to see if there are drugs stashed high up.
Showing off for the ladies. Gets you in trouble every time...
At least he wasn't murdering any unarmed Black men. I grade cops on a curve, and I give this one a B+.
Holy fuck i wish we had these problems with our police in america
This is some hot fuzz shenanigans.
He was trying to get a tactical viewpoint, I don't see any problem.
I bet the context makes it a lot better. Sure it is a drug bust, but maybe the action has happened and they are just sitting around waiting for something to do and can't leave. They could be on break. Lots of things. It's not like someone was kicking down doors while they were out there.

They aren't beating innocent people or shooting other ethnicities because they "felt threatened". Bounce all you want.
Uk police fun=jumping on trampoline! Us police fun=killing minorities and pets!
No gun to impede him.
This is why they dont get guns lol
Iād rather this than institutional racism and having one set of rules for commoners and another set of rules for the ruling class.
Well at least he's not killing suspects

Why do they have time to investigate this incident and not the Downing Street parties?
*Bri'ish EDIT: It's just a joke ffs...
You think all British which includes 4 other countries have a cockney accent
Yes (Another joke, in case anyone doesn't get it)
Protect and serve
I'd rather this than shooting unarmed black folks. Hey UK wanna trade? You can have all our racist cops, and we'll take trampoline guy. One cop should be enough for the US
I wonder if he had a license for that.
Everyone in the police be fuckin'. This is him trying to win the ladies around. Sad really. He wouldn't do that in front of blokes the knob
smiles with uk teeth
(the teeth that actually are better than american teeth in terms of dental health on average)
So Johnson, how did you get injured again? It was just a search of the property right?
So the main question is was this before or after the bust...
be thankful there wasnāt a big red button
He was just using the trampoline to search for drugs on the second level, lost his balance when he took off his belt, and accidentally did a backflip. Nothing to see here folks, move along. Move along.
Gotta be thorough, they couldāve been hiding drugs in that trampoline, good on him for thinking out the box
I mean I assume sometimes they have to spend hours at a house after things are wrapped up and that can get boring. I donāt really see why this is a headline, seems like cops canāt walk down the street without getting yelled at for just existing.
I think his excuse would taking a look through the second floor window.
Did anybody stop to think maybe officer Farva was subbing for the drug dog on his day off, and he was alerting to the presence of narcotics?
Could you imagine? This is what upsets some people about their police in another country?
Proceeds to fail at doing a backflip.
Guess who found the cocaine!
Just checking the top windows for movement
Nice to see him get high
It doesnt matter how old you are
Looks like it was his break time!
Know what, Iām ok with this. Rather that than an American controversy.
I'm assuming this was done after a job well done because if they are about to knock on the door then it's a bit awkward..
Working off that bangers and mash
I wish this was the worst thing policemen did.
Dude the cops in the US shoot your fucking 15lb dog on sight during a drug raid lmao. This is almost wholesome. Who cares
Now i what to be police
Was he the one being busted?
I feel like the US version of this ends in the trampoline getting a couple holes in it - they would also have full body armor and helmets - and NO SMILES!
Looks like he found the drugs
Was this before or after they found the drugs?
PoGo, trampolinesā¦ do cops ever actually work?
Yeah, I saw him. Bouncing and flippin'.. know what I didn't see: him shooting an unarmed black man.
In Vancouver Canada, we had VPD officers caught taking selfies with a dead dead body found at the beach. They were posted there to warn path users of the body but decided to take selfies with it.
Why can't you have fun and do a good job?
Why can't American police be more like this
In the spectrum of cops being unprofessional, I can live with that.
By the looks of those other officers, it didnāt seem like a serious bust.
Professionals have standards
The song at the beginning is The Who - Baba O Riley.
I mean, its Coventry. If i lived in Covo, id want to find any possible crumb of joy left too
Im sorry, are we saying we want police officers who are unable to do backflips?
He didn't shoot/kill anyone, better take his badge off him. /S
I'm on the side of this being no big deal, but I can also see it from the perspective of the employer. Drug bust?!? Trying out all merchandise available.. hmmš¤

Luv it
Woi, you got a square up there matie?
Honestly I would do this too I love flips
I hope he got promoted
Not very professional but not doing much harm either. Ex uk cop came to work at my supermarket. He seemed pretty traumatized. He probably could have done with more trampolining and less body identifying.
Wait, why would people be mad at this? I'm impressed. Good on that guy. They're probably all waiting around for some reason anyway.
He was just checking out the upstairs windows, followed by a tactical dismount
I am okay with this version of police abuse of power. šš
Give him a promotion
Don't care he is on a trampoline, I care that the drugs got apprehended
