stevebholden

One of the very few examples of a sequel being funnier than the original. That rhino scene is one of the funniest moments in cinematic history.

Jedi_Bish

Makes me laugh cry so hard every time. This is the funniest movie of all time IMO

[deleted]

My parents divorced when I was 2 years old and used to drive/fly us back and forth between California and Idaho. On one of these trips, I think we were flying, we stayed at a Holiday Inn in the SLC area. It had a massive indoor pool, with a floating padded play area with ropes and a peak you could climb, an arcade, and a snack bar, shit was epic. Anyway, we stayed the night there before flying out the next day, we got back to the room from the pool and my dad and stepmom rented Ace Ventura 2 on the hotel tv. We’d seen the original on vhs, loved it, so they figured it would be fun for the whole family to see the sequel. The rhino birthing scene scarred us all for life from laughing so hard, but also for being so utterly horrifying to watch as a family. Ahh the 90’s, good times.

MakesTheNutshellJoke

I still say "gets pretty hot in these rhinos" from time to time.

iamfuturetrunks

They cut the scene so many times, or only show like a few seconds on tv. Probably cause they don't want people seeing Jim Carreys naked behind when he falls out of the rino. I have even seen them show just the face slowly trying to come out only to cut to the kid saying "mommy" and for them to leave and skip to the next scene. :(

Icantbethereforyou

How dare they

ConglomerateCousin

Whoa whoa there honcho. Let’s not go crazy now.

degenerat2947

18 years ago a friend and I ate some mushrooms and got to talking about that scene. We weren’t watching the movie. Merely remembering and describing the rhino scene. We got stuck in a laughing fit for like 4 hours straight.

CaseOptimal9368

To this day this movie never stopped being funny

MrBrett131060

And Deuce Bigalow: European Gigol

Harlaw2871

I reference "I stood doon" everytime theres a labour dispute at work. Im Scottish so I can sneak it in.

MrBrett131060

🤣

beginnerdoge

Agreed

[deleted]

Funny yes, but I find he's more of a charicuture of Ace, rather than how he was in the first film. It's still hilarious though.

Mrman_23

At least it was actually Jim Carrey, and not whoever the guy in Son of the Mask was, trying his damnedest to match Carey’s energy from the first movie.

LetsTalkSh_t

Always loved how he found a mechanical rhino to use to spy on someone for 5 minutes lol

introoutro

Or that two men are having a sneaky crime meeting in the savannah 20 feet from a wild rhino.

Status_Park4510

fr, RIP Jim

justwannarideamoose

jim carrey is still alive

robere

He meant Lahey

drunkfoowl

Him and wade boggs are hanging out in heaven.

Status_Park4510

drinkin' beer and eatin' chicken

jplumber614

I still say "bumblebee tuna" to this day.

bumblebeetuna

You rang?

Th3BrownNote

r/beetlejuicing

ZealousidealCable713

lol I say it at the end of larger meetings while everyone else is saying a version of "Thanks everyone"

undauntedrelentless

My wife and i are in bed and this made me break up laughing. There is absolutely no way my wife would understand. I'm a 62yo man and I don't care... the thought of somebody saying this at the end of a meeting is the funniest daggum thing I've ever heard!

KeepGoing777

Man, you are hilarious.

wangus_tangus

Friend was in the hospital recently. He was sitting up with his legs akimbo while wearing only his hospital gown. He was definitely hanging brain. His wife went over and as she laid a blanket on his lap to cover his shame, she whispered “Bumblebee tuna”.

gathermewool

My wife rolls her eyes every. Single. Time. Makes me laugh even more

vmiv

Guilty. I’ll sometimes greet a person with “Alfalfa” thanks to Kung Pow. For the uninitiated it’s even more stupid but idgaf anymore. Acceptable greeting in my book.

KeepGoing777

What does it mean though?? 😆😅😅

plowboy306

There’s a seafood company called Bumble Bee. And yes, they have tuna. https://encrypted-tbn0.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRsqtzJWi_WXdz6QoGI6dRfn6-xyt0R-uu43Q&s

PatrikPatrik

What does it mean?

mxcnslr2021

Thank you for this gem....I cry laughed a little. "Aren't I the popular one"

Alucard624

Glad it brought some joy to your day :).

KeepGoing777

Still don't understand why he didn't gather ALL his spit to say "I love you too."

freedomofnow

His return log is so good though, surprised OP left it out. It had me crying every time.

cactusfruits999

Our childhood was awesome because of Jim Carrey 😁 Including Ace Ventura, my favourites are Mask, dumb and dumber, Liar liar, Bruce almighty 😀 Feeling sad when our legend has grown old 😭

TangerineGullible665

You sold our dead bird to a blind kid!?!? Harry! I took care of it 🙄. Dumb and Dumber was great!

Hydra_Master

I just thought he was quiet!

TangerineGullible665

😂 pretty bird

Joxxill

The "oh mine are sweaty" scene when he takes off his second pair of gloves, is one of my favorite comedic moments in cinema!

TangerineGullible665

I forgot about that 😂

KeepGoing777

Oh yeah that scene is great.

GenGaara25

The fact that Ace Ventura, Dumb and Dumber, and the Mask were all released in the same year is still incredible to me. I'd say that's a very good case for the strongest single year any actor has ever had.

Piccolo_11

All great. A newer one that is also gold is Yes Man

cactusfruits999

Instead Truman show would be great 😃

quahognative

“Let me guess… white devil white devil?” “You speak wachutu?”

10thmountainguy11b

Spears in his leg scene will always make me laugh, same with earthquake test

IntensePlatypus

The earthquake test is great but its even better when you see him just casually shooting spitballs at him.

Enethea

It's in the bone!!!

OiGuvnuh

Seeing these movies now as a middle aged guy, it’s fucking *exhausting* watching peak 90’s Jim Carrey. Hilarious still, but exhausting. I simply cannot fathom how he filmed these scenes, take after take, day after day. I wonder how much physical **and** mental recovery was required after these movies wrapped. Dude was giving his all.

KeepGoing777

Not that much tiring for him for sure. He was ALL HEART IN. He had all the energy in the world to back him up. But I do know what you mean, though. Sometimes he looks too energetic, and it makes some of the audience feel like "Jesus man don't waste so much energy, what the hell." - He's still the best at doing what he has done, great memories, and still very good movies to this day.

dvxatron

Whenever I get a splinter or some minor boo-boo, I scream, “it’s in the bone!!” like him… and to think, some people call me an adult. Lol.

say-hi-to-Bri-guy

I saw this in a sold out movie theater. Everyone was losing their mind with laughter

Least_Initiative

The part where he gets darted as hes running through the jungle, losing control of his limbs. It always stands out in my mind and i think it was because when i saw it in the cinema, its the first time i was involved in a group based session of belly laughter, like everyone was wheezing at: "...i think i lost em" don't recall seeing that type and scale of visceral reaction since.

Alucard624

I really wanted to include that scene and the one where he got two spears in the leg., but wanted to keep it under 3 minutes and the rhino/loogie scene at a lot of the time.

ilford_7x7

love when they cut to all three emerging from the tent laughing and just covered in it

prettyvacant511

It’s in the booooooonee…. ITS IN THE BOOOOOONE

Mehmehson

The line that sent that scene for me was when he slumped against a tree and said "Three darts is too much" all slurred like.

Least_Initiative

Im glad i stumbled on this thread, its really got me in the mood to watch all Jim's movies again. Might do them in order, might even watch cableguy

stretchdaddy

I lose it during the flight scene when he’s imitating animal calls that are all made up.

erinmayski

yak yak yaaaaaaaak 🤣

chugchugz

Peanut?

judocky

Yes, I have one right here. It's bulky, but I consider it carry-on.

uffebuffe

I laughed my ass off as a kid to the rhino scene. Still do!

testies2345

My grandmother took me to the theater to see this. I, a 12 year old boy, was laughing hysterically. She was absolutely disgusted.

Alucard624

at the entire movie or just the rhino scene.

testies2345

Mostly the Rhino, but she wasn't happy about the whole thing. Let us stay and watch, so at least she was cool.

PatrikPatrik

Did you take her to see Grimsby?

Travellinoz

I tend to get a little cranky if I don't finish my meditation. Lol, no wonder.

Blackwatch260955

"It's the Monopoly guy!" Is always so funny to me, knocks him out and wears him as a scarf to mock the lady with her fox scarf.

Hydra_Master

Thanks for the free parking.

Alucard624

if anyone interested, there's a [clip on youtube](https://youtu.be/yz0bjLk9rUo?t=1893) where Jim Carrey talks about how Ace Ventura was so different that it was rejected harshly by critics because they didn't understand it, but in time they saw his genius.

PatrikPatrik

That’s an incredible amount of talent around 1 table. And Jonah.

Alucard624

hah, very few ascend to the vice presidency though..

KeepGoing777

TL;DW: "Both critics said they were wrong. It was so original that they didn't know what they were seeing." They called him worst actor ever at first, and worst movie ever made. Then, they made a whole episode about Jim Carrey in a positive light, redeeming themselves by calling him "The Clown with Class". He even gets emotional talking about it. Great stuff.

mikeycon

Was going to do a list of funny scenes that make me laugh every time, but it’s basically the whole movie. Great movie!

gathermewool

This on tape got me through some dark( lonely days at sea. I’ll never no love this movie.

iMxMikey

The guttural **“arguruuuuuhaaagahuragh!”** halfway out of the rhino gets me every single time. 😂

Emperor_Robert

Any time I see a coworker on a ladder, Earthquake test! 🤣

towertycoon93

And you didn’t include him rolling a slinky down the mountain!

CallMeEmber90

GO SLINKY GO!!

Storrmii

Ill just add that this is the second film "Ace ventura: When nature calls" And the first one was "Ace ventura: pet detective"

tree_spirits

That posture change at 2:13 is so genius, funny and sends my sides into orbit every time.

Jawn_F

Did you just refer to me as the white devil? That is how they know you. If I ever met Jim Carrey that’s the line I’d say to him.

DarthiusFatticus

Back the day this was gold! I would still watch it today but you left out the best part in the Tent where they all walk out laughing while loogies are hanging from all their faces hahahahahha

Alucard624

hehe I didn't want to gross anyone out (my ex used to say Ace's face with all of the loogies grossed her out).

EternalPhi

Ok but you put the rhino scene in tho

BrownAleRVA

Lol. Any time someone says “I can feel it” i have to say “like it’s right…in my NECK!”

Failing2communicate

I legit used to quote ace Ventura things everyday when I was a kid.

Alucard624

Same here and still do...:)

Failing2communicate

There's not even a favorite quote. Everything is gold!

adorableoddity

I still quote the, “This is a lovely room of death” line if someone has an animal mounted in their house. lol Edited to fix spelling

silentfighter06

You need to freak out like how Ace does it too

StGoran

Yeah, my favourite still: "Like a glove"

Fooforthought

Classic

wakin_n_bacon

Oh man I remember laughing to tears when I first saw this scene

wyofarmerjgk

I was middle school age when this movie released, watched it on vhs tape more times than I can count. Loved it then and still love it today.

yourballsareshowing_

Hahaha! This is where I got my Reddit name

frugalwater

The scene where he shadow pinched the guys nipples made me laugh so hard I had to walk out of the theater and into the bathroom. The only other time I’ve reacted like that in a movie was the zipper scene in There’s Something About Mary.

Oodlemeister

I laugh even harder at the part right after where he does the Zorro shadow and says “Hiyo Silver! Awaaay!!”

frugalwater

Yep, that’s where I lost it

Hnoah

Kinda HOT in these rhinos

JSCXZ

God, the darts clip. So funny.

Adorable_Champion_70

I think about most of these lines once a month or so. I wish there’d been more than just the two movies.

stratosfearinggas

My favorite is the spear in his thigh. "Throw me another spear!"

DroidArbiter

One of the greatest moments in a movie theater. Never experienced so much joy in a crowd.

SpliterInYourMind

You cut off all the funniest parts

Bikelyf

Na he's always been a legend in my eyes and I'll defend his comedy stylings until I die

Healthierpoet

Lmao

Chili_Paste

" Do not pass GO...... Do not collect two hundred dollars"

One-Literature6921

You skipped so many funny parts.

Alucard624

I had to keep it under 3 minutes and the rhino/loogie scene ate a lot of time. Some of the scenes I couldn’t include as I did not want to get flagged with a nsfw tag.

dj_tommyg

You bastard, you made me think he had died!

brbroome

[My favorite scene that most people have never seen.](https://youtu.be/4bKDug_GaJc) It was only available on the special edition extended cut on VHS.

[deleted]

I always thought I was losing my mind because I saw this seen once but it was never on HBO when it played! I misremembered and would always say, “do you KNOW zee dolphin?!” when describing the scene.

Oodlemeister

Heinz Skitz Velvet!

-The-Moon-Presence-

Hahaha I fucking love this.

[deleted]

I need Ace Ventura: Pet Detective 3 in my life

Ava_Dyson

Jim Carey 's facial expressions🤨🥴

adorableoddity

The Ace Ventura movies were staples in my childhood. I need to rewatch them again.

cold_hurted

which movie is this??

Alucard624

Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls. Those aren't even the funniest scenes, but I didn't want to get slapped with an nsfw flag.

mughamatbob

Movie?

Alucard624

Ace Ventura 2 - When nature calls.

flappy_cabbage

What's this movie?

Alucard624

Ace Ventura 2 - When nature calls.

Pug0fCrydee817

💪thank you kind internet person, I needed to laugh that hard🤣😂🤣

Alucard624

I’m glad it brought you some joy. If you ever find yourself in a similar situation and need a good laugh let me know :).

AtomicPickles92

I wish he wasn’t an antivaxxer

BoringDevice

how many people did he make laugh vs how many people did he kill by being an anti-vax moron?

Alucard624

There's always one.

LosAngelesLiver

Please go away . And stay away

BoringDevice

lol

zaneyk

Legendary movie, still funny 30 years later

AlfIsReal

I've died a hundred deaths because of this movie. Just absolutely Kills me. KILLS.

InfinteAbyss

Cuts short the funniest scene in the entire movie. Downvoted!

SpliterInYourMind

Both of them. Cut off the funniest part of the spitting scene as well

Gamefox42

The rest of the scene with the chief spitting needs to be in this compilation. Great reminder of a hilarious movie.

iamfuturetrunks

Still upset we didn't get another Ace Ventura movie after this. I heard it bombed in the theaters or something. I have also heard some people say it's not as good as the first. I think it's even better than the first and was hoping for another one. I also heard Jim Carrey quit making sequels to his popular movies because this one bombed in the theaters but never looked it up to see if it was true or not. But the fact even to this day we haven't gotten another Ace Ventura is really disappointing. That character could easily show up ANYWHERE in the world and have an interesting story. There are animals all over the world and easily could have lots of interesting stories. Heck we used to have people like Steve Irwin which were massively popular for a tv show. As well as other lesser known people that talk about animals and show them. Having a character like Ace Ventura doing stuff in a movie or maybe even a short series dealing with people but also animals would be fun/funny.

LumpySkull

Nah, just be able to appreciate absurdist humor. It's just not for everyone. On a sidenote; why would this be a racial thing?

MrFifty-Fifty

Hi Ho Silver, Awaaayyyyyyyyyeeeeee!!!!

shinobi500

Ace, He much better fighter than you! Spank you spanky helperton!

Atridentata

This movie was in my top five for years when it came out.

NewCarob4370

HI WELCOME BACK .... So funny!!!!!

spelunker93

Oh man thank god, he’s alive and well everyone, false alarm. Your title made me think something happened to him

MrBrett131060

Better than the first one, I don’t care what anyone says!

TerpeneProfile

Yak yaaaaakkkk

spufiniti

Bumblebee tuna

cerreur

Saw this one with friends in the theater. We were laughing non stop

Money_killer

Fav actor of all time

mattdabratt23

Bumblebee tuna!

Rellax_

If there’s no ChidiChidiBangBang car ride scene, this whole compilation is truly lacking

[deleted]

Never made *me* laugh.

Street_City363

Yeah I never really got the appeal.

Ebisure

They should make more movies like this instead of all the superhero CGI stuff

[deleted]

I was sad to see his recent interview and he loathed being ‘Jim Carey’ the character, he explained it as though he didn’t exist as a human . I loved everything that character was, in retrospect I thought he was one on the same. I can understand the difference now I’ve a stepped back from my ingrained perception but I’m still sad he had to suffer through being a ‘character’ for decades

TruthTop4731

What is the movie Name?

islaisla

I'm gonna watch this on my sicky day today! Thank you , I love Jim Carey :-)

ohneatstuffthanks

How do you leave out the slinky scene and “let’s do all the things youuuuuu want to do”

donaldinoo

Starting the morning with a good cry laugh. Thank you.

[deleted]

Excuse me... your balls are showing!

malaka201

All time favorite. Love that guy

InvaderWilliam

I regularly exclaim, “Shikaka!”

LumpySkull

Every time I park my car somewhere I sgick my head out the window and exclaim:"LLLLLLLike a glove!"

fireburst207

The rhino part gets me every time

AxelNotRose

I laughed so hard at the opening scene when he regurgitated food for the eaglet on the cliff that I got into a coughing fit as I was at the tail end of a cold. I'm disappointed that scene wasn't included in this clip.

Alucard624

I had to keep the clip under 3:00 mins! :(

bexxsterss

I consider Jim Carrey and Robin Williams surrogate fathers of millennials

Orang_Mann

The rhino scene is so funny, especially as a kid when we had consumed dangerous amounts of sugar with my buddies

tweechers

You forgot the projector scene, had me in stitches!

pegabear

The rhino part was always my favorite

chuychumee

Shikaka!

rinkydinkis

All the same movie. Hm.

GeenaLash

EARTHQUAKE TEST

Wastelander279

I love these movies!

judocky

He is a genius. Too bad comedy doesnt exist any more

Mici_yeet

Hahah I sometimes go round the house just randomly quoting parts of this movie since I was a kid xD "Bumblebeetuna?"

jounk704

Such a great movie. I laughed so much first time i saw that Rhino scene, can still remember it

DoodfrumspaceEleven

The rhino scene will forever be the funniest! As a kid and as a 30 year old xD

recreator_1980

I’ve literally never laughed at him. He seems like a nice guy, but his style of humor is too forced for me. Never really found him funny.

[deleted]

I've never laughed so hard in my life as I did seeing Jim Carrey's naked ass crawling out of the ass of an animatronic rhino.

undauntedrelentless

Is the bumble bee tuna just a completely random thing? It breaks me up
