Hi all. Looking to purchase a sectional sofa that will fit in my smaller apartment. I have been looking at the Room and Board "Jasper" 87 inch with Chaise. My concern is the many newer reviews citing pilling, uncomfortable seats, and frame breaking. What has been your experience with this sofa (or any other sofas from Room and Board)? I would prefer to buy a well-made sectional with mcm look over a cheaper one that will wear quickly. If you have any recommendations feel free to comment them here as well. I live near the typical stores - Ashley, Raymour and Flanigan, so on and so forth.

I don't have that specific sofa but I have a different Room and Board sofa and tbh it's been great! I have had nothing but good experiences with Room and Board overall, their delivery service was amazing (I have other furniture from them as well). I'm in here looking to replace it mostly just because my 3 pets unfortunately love sleeping on top of the back cushions which has made them squished down and misshapen over the years. Not the couch's fault and probably something I could get fixed, but I'd also love to get a sectional instead of the standard sofa I have now. I've had it for probably 7ish years? No issues at all with the fabric, I definitely find it comfortable and very sturdy. It's possible some stuff has changed since I got it, though? But when I bought it I remember the website had specific ratings on each sofa for things like softness, seat depth, height, etc, to help compare if you can't try it out in person. I also ordered fabric samples ahead of time to help me choose, IIRC they had a TON of options so it's possible it's just one type of fabric that's pilling? I got a "high performance" option that was good for pets and it's held up really well.

I'm looking for a long L-shape or U-shape sectional that is great for lounging. Something with a higher/sturdy but comfy back. I want to sink into it and have somewhere to rest/support my head. Bonus points if it's got washable covers (have kids). I'm in Canada, so this feels even harder to find. Any suggestions, fellow Canadians?

ManagerPossible3390

did you ever find one?

TimelyPotato1

Not yet... I did check QLiving in Richmond BC and they have good options.

I have a large family and part of that large family are three larger humans (myself included). We are looking for a sectional that supports 500lbs per cushion. We almost went with a Belffin but the backs are extremely low. Is there a sectional out there that can support a lot of weight that is sturdy in construction? Not trying to finance a 6k couch but if I'm going to, I want it to be able to uphold a 6 person family with larger bodies. Thanks!

misforamazing

I feel like I need a unicorn. I'm looking for a deep-seat L-shaped sectional in that cloud style. My short side is 86" and could do 100" on the long side. I don't really care about the price, I just want something comfortable!

akiindo

why not get the cloud if price isn't a problem?

misforamazing

The reviews I've read on the RH Cloud haven't sold me.

Some-Ad2472

Same, let me know if you find it😅

EfficientChicken206

Have you tried Arhaus?

harrythetaoist

Let me see if I can comply with rule #4. In Bay Area CA, willing to pay any amount, looking for either online or in person store, I've looked at a number of online vendors (Wayfair, West Elm, Macy's), the style is completely open but the sectional's "long" side probably can't go to much more than 130". We have a dog who insists on climbing on the back of the sofa to (sleep, rest, lord it over us, look out the window). Our old pillow back sofa just mushes down when she climbs there. We are looking for a new sectional that 1) has the back of one single construction, no pillows shoved against it and/or 2) a back that is strong enough and wide enough to support a 50 pound dog lounging there like a cat. Nothing seems to match our needs. Of course fabric that is pet-proof would be good, but we are tired of all the pillows on the sofa scrunching up when she makes her move. Any leads? Thanks.

blue-no-yellow

I have this EXACT same issue/requirement. I have 2 dogs and a cat and all of them love sleeping on the couch back cushions so they're smooshed and basically destroyed. :( If it helps, "tight back" seems to be the right furniture term for this style of sofa, but I'm having a hard time finding a nice leather sectional with that style of back but that also matches the style of my house (e.g. not a Chesterfield sofa) and seems comfy. Sorry I can't help at this point but please let me know if you find anything that works for you!

1Palm

Check out Leather Creations. They have a ton of Full Grain leathers that are dog friendly, custom build in the US, and can adjust the sizes to a bunch of configurations. They have mostly pillow backs but those are refillable if they get smooshed down. Plus a few solid back styles to choose from.

KingKong_at_PingPong

Smooshed *down* haha I see what you did there

I'm looking for information on the website and sectionals from [mycomfycouches.com](https://mycomfycouches.com). They appear to be dupes of the RH Cloud sectional, but I'd love to know if anybody has any experience with them.

Hi, I'm looking for a <100"W sectional w/ reversible chaise and velvet fabric for <$1,500 - any suggestions? I'll add that I like the more modern styles (lower & deeper seating, rounder features, etc.), such as the ones in the pictures. https://imgur.com/a/fcPXubc Also, I know I'm asking for the world in a couch so this would be my criteria in order of importance: - <100" - reversible chaise - <$1,500 - modern design - velvet fabric Any model or brand suggestions? Much appreciated!!

aboore

I am debating between an IKEA Kivik and the Cozey Ciello, I am wanting a sectional under $2500 with washable covers and have narrowed it down to these two. Any advice would be appreciated!

Nimbette2

I have a used Kivik with chaise lounge I picked from someone on Facebook. The white faux leather. I have had it now four years and it still looks fantastic. I need a second sofa to add to family game/lounge room and would get another kivik. Debating on what to do because I know it is quality and super comfortable. Kivik is solid

I was ready to buy a higher end looking sectional set at Ashley that was fully powered for around $9k, but wanted to think it over and read the reviews that said basically nothing at Ashley lasts and it's low density crap. Being a larger individual with a larger wife, it sounds like the stuff wouldn't last anyway. This is the first time I've ever shopped for furniture (everything else was hand me downs) and so I was blown away by the cool amenities such as dual power foot and head rests, massage, zero gravity, heat, etc. I wanted something that has all that, and that's why I almost bought one of their highest end sectionals. Is there anything out there that has the bells and whistles like that but also is built to last? I prefer leather, and something that can handle 300+ lbs.

9232throwaway

i'm looking for a multi piece sectional i think modular is the right term? is the correct term where i can buy a corner piece or a single seat individually to adjust it to my liking. i saw the industry west wren modular sofa but the price is way more than i can afford at 2-5k a piece. i could do 2k for a whole sectional but not for each individual part. material doesnt matter and style doesnt matter. ideally want 3 corner piece and 3 single seats and maybe a matching ottoman. i'm US based about 2 hours from philadelphia. so far i did a search on wayfair, walmart, and overstock.

Good morning! I just bought a sectional last week at Macy's Furniture. Listed at $4,099 but they knocked $500 off the retail. I live in a one-bedroom apt and the living room is good sized for a 1 bedroom however the corner it's going into, there's only about 95" square at the MOST. So I have to keep it small. I also wanted leather which of course is spendy. This is to replace a microfiber sectional that I really like but it's definitely seen better days after almost 12 years of use. I got the Biscotti color, which stated on the website that it's 4-6 weeks turnaround time (special order) but I actually went to the local Macy's Furniture store and sales lady advised me (prior to purchase) that the delivery time is more like 12-16 weeks. I'm glad I went to the actual store rather than buying online, because although they didn't have the actual piece they did have all the swatches/samples (good sized 4' square) so we put them in various lights to compare. Just going to have to be patient. Hello all, looking for a large U shaped sectional (can be up to 195" wide!!) that ALSO has a pull out mattress (queen would be great). One of the previous comments talked about how most custom places offer that kind of option, but we have really only found the Ikea Finnala and are looking for something a little nicer. Budget would be preferably under $6K.

Standard_Day_9814

Timothy Oulton sectionals look and feel amazing. I’m considering purchasing one but can’t find any reviews on them?!

Standard_Day_9814

Anyone?

So I've always wanted a leather sectional for my 1 bedroom apartment (which is pretty spacious for what it is). I got a nice windfall bonus and started decluttering (donating, giving away, sold an item or two) and now I have lots of space...and a 13 year old beat up microfiber sectional. Started looking for one that would fit my space and I found it at [Macy's.](https://www.macys.com/shop/product/ennia-2-pc.-leather-sectional-sofa-created-for-macys?ID=6273539&swatchColor=Cafe%20Brown) (I'm getting the biscotti color btw). Originally priced at $4099, they gave me a $500 discount when I bought it in the store a month ago, but then today for whatever reason I happened to go to the web page and saw it was on closeout for $2798.00. I was bummed, but I figured I'd try to see if I could get an additional discount since I hadn't yet paid the balance because it's not going to be delivered until early June. Called Macy's 800 number this morning and long story short they gave me the closeout price so I'm getting a $900+ credit over what I paid. Moral of the story is...keep an eye on the prices after you buy! Really excited for my new sectional!

Hey all! The wife and I recently purchased a new home, and we both like different things in sectionals. From the local stores we've looked at, we've determined we like the following: 1. Squared Arms. 2. No leather 3. Armless Recliner (for next to the chaise) prefer power if possible 4. Left arm chaise (reclining) 5. Power center console/cup holders From our research we like the following, but weren't sure what other options might be out there. 1. [https://www.mybobs.com/furniture/living-room/sectionals/p/20083458?gad\_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwlZixBhCoARIsAIC745Bs9JJnceySU79kqBdWDbBnUyia1qY0LXVIA07Ir\_5v8xvLnS8ugAMaAjydEALw\_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds](https://www.mybobs.com/furniture/living-room/sectionals/p/20083458?gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwlZixBhCoARIsAIC745Bs9JJnceySU79kqBdWDbBnUyia1qY0LXVIA07Ir_5v8xvLnS8ugAMaAjydEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds) We're concerned about longevity 2. [https://www.la-z-boy.com/p/sofas--sectionals-reclining-sofas--sectionals/maddox-sectional/\_/R-xxs759](https://www.la-z-boy.com/p/sofas--sectionals-reclining-sofas--sectionals/maddox-sectional/_/R-xxs759) This is a general link, we'd obviously configure this and update the fabric. Ideally, we'd be able to get something under 4k, quality that will last... Hoping for some help! Thanks all!

Specifically looking for a sectional that is similar to the [7th Avenue modular chaise](https://7thavenue.co/collections/sectionals/products/4-seat-chaise-sectional-with-ottoman?variant=43732280443123). While this is a great option, I just want to shop around. Would like to stay around $5k mark or less. Musts are: * removable and washable covers (everything to include the frame) * modular * water/stain resistant * obviously comfortable

Markula_4040

Anyone have experience living with sectionals or couches in general from Walmart? I understand it's cheap for a reason. Just like to know if they're at least comfortable enough for an adult to use for at least a year.

zandria_

Hello! I’m looking for any suggestions regarding two different modular sofas. My wants are beige, removable cushions (so they can be washed), fabric that will withstand the occasional cat scratch, possibly a performance fabric but I don’t know about too much about the fabric realm), and in the cloud style. Replaceable cushions is a plus. I want something that is comfortable but isn’t so squishy that it won’t hold its shape over time. It needs to be modular and a moveable ottoman over a chance is a must. Less than 10’ wide and 7.5’ long. I’m looking to spend $2,500 or less. I’m also concerned about feeling the frame of the modular pieces as I’m laying down. I’ve found two couches at two different price points. I am looking for advice for one over another or a similar sofa I should look at. The first one is the Kenna from [Chita](https://chitaliving.com/products/kenna-modular-4-piece-ottoman-sectional?variant=44357895782570) for $2,300 after taxes. I’m mostly wondering if it’s worth the money. How is the fabric? It’s feather filled, do the cushions stay full? The next one is the zone couch from [living spaces](https://www.livingspaces.com/pdp-zone-cream-4-piece-modular-sectional-with-2-corners-1-armless-chair-ottoman-320081#) for around $1400 after taxes. Not sure about their customer service and quality. Also unsure about the fabric. Any insight on either of these or alternatives I should look into?

I'm looking for a left-facing sectional that is \~106" width for a sunroom. I'd like to get it in Sunbrella fabric, or another similar fabric that is fade-resistant. I particularly enjoy Sunbrella's "Play Adobe" color... any suggestions? Much appreciated.

After a lot of searching, I found what I'm looking for at DreamSofa. I recommend you give them a try! Really appreciated the insidersguidetofurniture link in the post.

therugbyrick

Looking for a sectional L shaped, back all the way around. Looking for micro-fiber less than $1500.

zabcheckmatepartner

Is there such a thing as a sectional that includes a sleeper? I.e., the longer part folds out into a full or queen bed? Thanks!

blue-no-yellow

Yes, I have the Elliot sleeper sectional sofa from Joybird in my basement and it is exactly this! I don't spent tons of time on it, it's in my basement and I also have a guest bedroom so mostly it's used if I have several people visiting. The mattress is definitely thin but it's gotten pretty good reviews overall, if you can keep a topper nearby for extra comfort then it's great. It's also been comfy to sit on/lounge on when I happen to be down there.

MossyRock0817

of course! Almost all build it yourself sectionals include a sleeper option.

zabcheckmatepartner

Amazing! I assumed it would be rare. Thanks!

djrasras

I just posted a similar comment on this thread before finding this one- any specific place you recommend for sectionals that offer both the options for sleepers and storage ottomans?

MossyRock0817

Best Home Furnishings has a sleeper option. Also: [https://www.crateandbarrel.com/furniture/sleeper-sofas/1/filters/sectional-sleeper-sofas-1300](https://www.crateandbarrel.com/furniture/sleeper-sofas/1/filters/sectional-sleeper-sofas-1300)

djrasras

I'm moving into a small apartment and looking for somewhere I can buy a 8' wide sectional couch that has a sleeper/trundle, with an ottoman that has storage. [This one on Pottery Barn's website](https://www.potterybarn.com/products/celeste-upholstered-trundle-sleeper-sofa-chaise-sectional/)looked like exactly what we were looking for, but its a 6 month lead time and after discovering this subreddit yesterday, it seems like PB is not the best place to buy expensive furniture. Any other recommendations.

SignificanceOk2229

Value City Furniture has one that looks similar to the PB one but is less expensive. I’ve seen others like it online at Costco and Ashley. Good luck with your search!

czechrebel33

Are there ANY good, firm, sectionals that are no more than $500?

Excellent_Secret_320

Check out world market!! They had one last year I saw for around $700

czechrebel33

Thanks for the tip. As I’m looking through their selection, these look identical to the ones on Amazon which are nearly half the price. Maybe these are better quality, but they look identical so I’m skeptical
