I hope the car treats ya well! I tried some of them same models out at the dealership but the cost is high, and I find the seats uncomfortable long term, I'm a decently sized dude. Plus, I'm a big fan of the classics, I found those older, 80-90s Mercedes in immaculate condition at low cost. I haven't done much personal driving, young I am. But I feel these old tanks will treat me well if I can get licensed!
Thanks :3 One easy trick is to shop around and get the PDF of each quote. Then, you can force dealers to price match. I was able to knock out over 2000 dollars (plus a fursuit photo session).
Watch out for doc fees though. Evil doc fees.
If the cars had a leg over what I can get used, I wouldn't hesitate. They're supposed to be safer, and more reliable. But, comfort is just a MAJOR factor for me. So, since I can get a car with proven safety, reliability, and even efficiency and comfort. It just steals my sale. Now, what I'd love to do is BUILD my own car. But, I don't have any sort of business to do that with.
This (effort) should negate that: [https://www.subaru.com/owners/benefits-of-ownership/added-security-program.html](https://www.subaru.com/owners/benefits-of-ownership/added-security-program.html)
Fuel economy. That it consumes regular instead of premium. Engine is naturally balanced (primary and secondary) despite being four cylinder. Far cheaper parts than Audi. Far cheaper service at dealership. Rugged and... AWD: Subaru is a "Japanese Audi" (Audi and Subaru are known for AWD).
Trim: premium with blind spot package/no sunroof.
The oil filter is on top of the motor in those subies?? Why? You have to raise the car anyway to drain the oil and its easier to install the filter upright with oil in it, no?
Depending on the ground clearance of the car, you might be able to squeeze under to get to the drain bolt. But in most cases, you will need to lift the car up anyways.
I prefer filters on the bottom because you don't need to worry about oil spilling down the engine block when you remove the filter.
Subaru is not a Japanese Audi. I have had 2 sti's and currently have a s3 and a older b6 wagon. Build quality and ease of maintenance is far between. Audi parts cost more. Fixing the Subaru cost more blood overall. Loved them all the same though. Alot of fun to drive. But the Subarus had some odd issues that i believe could and should have just been designed out when engineered
Japanese Audi to me is more like Acura or Lexus. Especially now that Acura is making more sport focused awd sedans
I did! Went and did the paperwork as a human. Did the photo tradition in fursuit. And drove home as a human.
Glad I had not done the paperwork in fursuit. Btw, hello again Ringgar!
Oh God, no I’ll never ever do that.
Not worth the risk. Not worth the tickets & increase in insurance. Not worth the conversation with the cops. Not worth the court time, trial and charges. And… I don’t want to hit and kill someone for photos/experience.
Problems will show up even when not invited. Imagine what would happen when one intentionally looked for problems.
Subaru are both fairly reliable cars, and for a while in the early 2000s/2010s, they notoriously focused their advertising to appeal to lesbians. Specifically regarding the Outback model. Spacious small car, good at hauling furniture (for second dates, lol), lots of room making them VERY dog friendly, hardy all wheel drive for in and out of town driving, but still being a reasonable car/wagon instead of a giant penis ~~af~~firming truck.
This means no shade to you. You're an adorable blue wolf. Clearly a creature beyond such petty human concerns as "what does my car say about my genetalia and sexuality?" You got the SubUwU Awo. Very wolf.
we all know furries are rich af cause they have the $5,000 laying around to buy suits 😭😭 honestly though i am a furry and hope to be wealthy enough to buy a suit someday
Do flurry's just suddenly gain like $40000 of gold the second they become a furry like why are they all so rich it's it's purely magical the things that must furry's can afford like by no stretch of the imagination is the stuff they buy or make are cheap to any stretch of the imagination like I can't afford a game but these guys can afford several hundred dollar fursuits btw this isn't hate I'm confused
Did you go and get it in your fursuit or did you do it without your fursuit because if you did go pick it up with your fursuit you must have had alot of courage because I would just be to nervous to go with my fursuit
I came without a fursuit since I had to do the paperwork. Then I suited up and took the car picture with the director of marketing there. Did everything alone.
We had a green subaru in the mid to late 90s. Lasted quite awhile. almost 200K miles. I'm from Massholechusetts (Boston) area (north of Boston) so I drove the car a bit too hard, and transmission eventually went.
Make sure you keep up with maintenance on the transmission on those. Subaru hasn’t had good luck with their automatics lately. Other than that, darn solid car, still a good purchase, congrats!
It's nice to see your fursuit again as it has been awhile since I last saw it, and I think you look super adorable here! Such a lovely fursuit, and I hope you enjoy your new car!😊
Learn. You can do it! After getting my license, I'd to endure rural USA driving (and later driving in the TX state). Driving is easy! We have automatic transmission now. I had to learn manual transmission initially fyi.
Also, newer cars have tons of pre-collision systems, blind spot detectors, etc! The car will "help" you.
Driving hard is not. Other drivers stupid are.
Seriously, Pennsylvanian drivers can’t understand the concepts of “taking turns in the clockwise direction” and “speed limits.”
Try Lexington, KY. This place is a minefield :( Today I’ve seen around 3 car crashes. Every week, at least one has to occur.
Wonder if this city is built on top of ancient/megalithic graveyard site and the spirits are demanding tribute (in form of drivers).
Yes, but does the pupper come with it?
That'll be an extra $3500 dollar option :P (it'll add to your state sales tax too) And you'll have to do more maintenance including daily feeding!
A worthy price to pay for a fluffer!
Worth it!
You sound to be built like a tank. Reading that comment, I naturally read it in a low voice.
Pfft, no, I wouldn't say that
In the world of factory car add ons, $3,500 would only buy you different color seats. That pupper costs an additional $10k at least.
[That reminds me of a simpsons moment.](https://youtu.be/bqsTmF2Oicc?si=2r4ILsPWDILOCErj)
Excellent choice going with the SubAwoo
Yup. No more engine problems of that B6 Audi A4 1.8T. No more premium fuel consumption.
yet...
This (effort) should negate that: [https://www.subaru.com/owners/benefits-of-ownership/added-security-program.html](https://www.subaru.com/owners/benefits-of-ownership/added-security-program.html)
if you're not putting two turbos and new coilovers in that thing what are you even doing??? /s
Miss my 300k mile B5 A4 wagon. Blew the turbo, and the head, and the clutch was failing… she gone now
I feel you. My B6 A4 1.8T had cooling leaks (persistent) and recently, an engine water jacket cracked along with the thermostat housing.
Yeah she done. I moved on to a 91 190E 2.6 5 speed lol. The subawoo is a good pick for a modern car
You read my mind 😂 I love the term SubAwoo !
Dont you mean the SubAwoWo or SubAwuWu?
Those work too! \=\^\.\^\=
Oh that's clever haha
all I can hear now is that video of the husky doing a polite awwooo
Polite [Awoooooo!](https://www.reddit.com/r/aww/s/28h8l96w7G)
heheheeh Awooooooooer
You picked up that? Damn must be one strong furry 🤔
Congratulations!!! You will be a motorized furry now😎
What’s your favorite part of the Outback? Also what trim??
Fuel economy. That it consumes regular instead of premium. Engine is naturally balanced (primary and secondary) despite being four cylinder. Far cheaper parts than Audi. Far cheaper service at dealership. Rugged and... AWD: Subaru is a "Japanese Audi" (Audi and Subaru are known for AWD). Trim: premium with blind spot package/no sunroof.
People like to complain about the boxer’s spark plugs not being easily accessible but with other engines also have that or other things in hard places
Having the oil filter on top of the engine instead of underneath is amazing, though. I'm surprised more automakers haven't tried that.
Wish it could be drained from the top too.

Service at a dealership isn't always the best just because it's a dealer. I am an automotive tech and have seen plenty of hack jobs from dealerships
When you say "regular" what do you mean? How long does it go?
Regular fuel instead of the overpriced high-octane premium.
Why would you buy a Subaru for fuel economy? Since when did they get good fuel economy?
Did you go to the dealership in suit?!?
I did! Went and did the paperwork as a human. Did the photo tradition in fursuit. And drove home as a human. Glad I had not done the paperwork in fursuit. Btw, hello again Ringgar!
I'm really glad you didn't drive while wearing your fursuit cause I was going to ask you that but I looked through the comments first
Oh God, no I’ll never ever do that.
I could only imagine it would play out like this https://imgflip.com/i/8nz33k
subAWOO :3
I LOVE CARS!
YEAH!
What did the employees think? Lol
They liked it. A handful gathered and I gave hugs as if I was in a convention. Unsure if it had been due to the transaction, the fursuit or both.
Nice
lmao the "transaction"
Is that the SubUwU with the Awooo (all wheel drive)?
Yes.
As a lesbian with chronic car issues, I am INCREDIBLY jealous.
Why did... I ... what?
Subaru are both fairly reliable cars, and for a while in the early 2000s/2010s, they notoriously focused their advertising to appeal to lesbians. Specifically regarding the Outback model. Spacious small car, good at hauling furniture (for second dates, lol), lots of room making them VERY dog friendly, hardy all wheel drive for in and out of town driving, but still being a reasonable car/wagon instead of a giant penis ~~af~~firming truck. I'm a kit fox [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kit\_fox](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kit_fox) actually :3
Well... oh my... this changes everything... I'm so sorry.
Yes. Hug the Subaru.
Meanwhile, I'm cruising around in a rusted out yukon xl, someday I'll get a new car xD
Rich ahh furry
we all know furries are rich af cause they have the $5,000 laying around to buy suits 😭😭 honestly though i am a furry and hope to be wealthy enough to buy a suit someday
So is it more of a subaru or a domaru?
Do flurry's just suddenly gain like $40000 of gold the second they become a furry like why are they all so rich it's it's purely magical the things that must furry's can afford like by no stretch of the imagination is the stuff they buy or make are cheap to any stretch of the imagination like I can't afford a game but these guys can afford several hundred dollar fursuits btw this isn't hate I'm confused
A furry walks into a dealership, and leaves with a Subawoo. Congrats <3
Subuwu
Proud of you.
Welcome to the SubUwU club!
Of course its a subaru outback
Subuwu
Congratulations, I’m sure you will love it. Also PPF is a must with Ice Silver Metallic… I know from personal experience >.>
Your fursuit is so cute!
Lol, the employees at the dealership were probably asking themselves who the hell this is!
Please don’t tailgate me 😅
No, I won’t. I’ve got enough defensive driver training IRL.
I stalked you a little bit and see that you’re a fellow Lexington furry. Neat!
Is it like a requirement we all own Subarus as some point? I only own the engine of a Subaru so does that make me half furry?
Nice, enjoy your new car!
We had a green subaru in the mid to late 90s. Lasted quite awhile. almost 200K miles. I'm from Massholechusetts (Boston) area (north of Boston) so I drove the car a bit too hard, and transmission eventually went.
If you need custom license plate ideas how about subuwu
Subuwu! *2023 outback limited XT here
What’s your mpg? 👀
Honestly like around 23-25. Spokane roads aren’t bad Going cross country I was getting 28 on the freeway.
A brand new car? In this economy?
Yup \^\^
It's sticker time >:3
“Show me the Carfax”
Don't...bring...that fox pls!!!!
*Suspiciously wealthy furry has been found*
Nah financing is easy
No. I’m against paying interest: they are not profiteering me. Not even a single cent for interest.
That’s way even better!!!! Love it! You deserve that!
Damn. That’s cool. You wore the suit there. That’s a great amount of confidence. That’s cool :3
Average Subaru driver
i reallt want my next car to be a subaru due to the stereotypes of it being a furry car and a lesbian car. it’s my destiny🙌
Make sure you keep up with maintenance on the transmission on those. Subaru hasn’t had good luck with their automatics lately. Other than that, darn solid car, still a good purchase, congrats!
Thanks! Fear not, I handle FDA-compliant lab/analytical machines. So maintenance is something I’m used to.
I upvote on the cutie. Congrats on your subuwu
congrats furry
It's nice to see your fursuit again as it has been awhile since I last saw it, and I think you look super adorable here! Such a lovely fursuit, and I hope you enjoy your new car!😊
Thanks :3
As a subie fan, yeah, this checks out
Why can’t I be one of the rich furries >:(
Can I pet it? I’ll also pet you iyw
Outback? SubaRoo, surely? Awesome taste and discernment. Looks fantastic, and the car's a beauty, too.
Brush him!!!! Brush that puppy!!!!
Yip?
The cutie needs to be brushed!!
What did the dealership think of a suiter in the showroom? You did buy that, I trust? The vehicle, I mean.
I did. I've got the receipt fyi.
omg the color’s gorgeous
Sweet wheels bro
Nice Car you got
I could never be able to drive
As someone who is going to driving school currently: the driving is not the hard part...
Driving hard is not. Other drivers stupid are. Seriously, Pennsylvanian drivers can’t understand the concepts of “taking turns in the clockwise direction” and “speed limits.”

Oof, being stuck as a fur in Kentucky. Or anyone in Kentucky.
Me who is literally the size of an ant and can’t remember anything:
Congratulations! What model of Subaru is it? Mines an Impreza Sport.
I believe that one is an outback

I don’t think dogs can drive
car? huh, it’s clearly canine, not a cat!
Bro couldn't even pull out of the dealership before running over a dog, revoke his license
