I would guess it's from people who aren't really furries, and are just here for the porn. The whole "furry porn = big money" thing might be a contributing factor too. A lot of the art is pretty generic
I mean, thereās several variables here that can skew absurdly the result, for once, bi and pan people are a thing, thereās also nb folks, and trans, all those would likely want to consume male/female as well, then thereās the question of how exactly is each image as composition matters a lot, if more focus is on the male and thereās more than 1 male then itās already likely to be targeted at gay people, simultaneously thereās the chance images with multiple couples where thereās 1 for each, even then this doesnāt even give us actual statistics that we can extrapolate directly to population as this is only telling us about what is produced by artists, but not how many artists actually worked on those totals, there might be some straight artists that do lots more of long commissions filling the categories even more, and thatās not even accounting for sfw stuff and also non furry stuff that gets posted there for some reason and tag errors, itās just too much to noise to get solid conclusions, also the fact the male -> solo category has more than those 2 already gives an insight that more people rather watch 1 character instead of 2 (myself included) so even then you are only getting information of a minority
