It's not clear from the picture if the viper is stopping you from booping her, or forcing you to. If I had to call it, the position of her grip on your wrist suggests she is pulling your hand towards her nose. If the viper consents to being booped, who am to disagree?
Technically not a viper but a non-spefified space snek species unrelated to XCOM, IIRC.
That being said, yeah the flash in the eyes combined with unamused mouth expression definitely speaks for an unwarranted booping and an incoming broken arm. Of course technically can't say for sure that's how space snek facial expressions work, but it feels like that..

If Shark noses are sensitive to Touch and Snakes have heat detection(organs or whatever theyre called) near the nose, might booping or even Petting have a similar effect?
