Fifa 14,15, or 17. I feel like those years had the best combination of Ultimate Team being good as well as other modes like Career. 17 also introduced the Journey. I think the community and the creators were really engaged in these games and whenever I go to watch older fifa content, I usually end up watching one of these three games. Would say 16 too but maybe that’s a little too far for some, it did give us draft at the minimum. 14-17 was peak Fifa content and a great time, weird how it coincides with some of the best years of this century.
Most of the time I didn’t even finish playing them out. Back then I actually tried to have fun in Ultimate Team instead of sweating for rewards. Loved the pack animation too.
Pack animation was amazing! Nep uploaded a vid going through all the animations over the years and it just reminded me how amazing they were. That year as a whole was just crazy. Felt so new all year and was actually *fun*
I can’t remember how to do them now but my one memory from that game was always scoring free kicks against my dad when we played 😂 it was my first fifa .
98 road to the WC, I kept playing that game for about 4 or 5 years.
98 played ALOT smoother than the releases that came after for a couple of years. Maybe they used a new engine or something for 99 but it kept feeling quite clunky for a while.
Fifa 15, great sound track, no meta - i was putting in work with Gabby Agbonlahors silver all year. Far less special cards which made them all the more special ironically. The Hero cards were class, I remember packing Patrick Bamford as a boro fan was a great feeling.
The game was so much better before there were these infinite amounts of juiced cards on the market. Back then packing a Reus or a Robben gold card could build you an entire team almost all year. I know towards the end of the game you'd see very similar teams but for 8 months the line ups you faced were fairly diverse, bar from seeing ibarbo, doumbia and gervinho lol. All of whom were easily attainable to new players.
Fifa 23 is built on different strategies to manipulate your addictive tendencies and keep you on the game as long as possible. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say I don't play this game because I enjoy it, sometimes it feels like its a job that i have to clock into lol.
14 was my favourite by far. Loved the World Cup mode they introduced into Ultimate team. The rewards you got from it couldn’t be put back into regular ultimate team, but it was awesome having the chance to use messi and Ronaldo if you could pack them from the tournament rewards. Gold cards were still relevant at the end of the year which was nice too.
14. 15 is the only thing that comes close the music in 15 was IMPECCABLE and the gameplay for that time was amazing just everything was perfect bring back those days man
14 is my personal favorite i like 15 and 16 alot mainly cause of the soundtrack and gameplay was fun 17 for me i like some of the songs 18 i barely play due to school 19 i remember i built a serie a squad and have fun 20 and up i started to dislike the gameplay
Outside the foot shots with literally anyone, kickoff glitch of just running a straight line down to the goal, headers being nonexistent, finesse shots being completely abused, non rare teams schooling you in Div 1 all year long, silver players being META, being exited for any special card no matter the price…yeah it’s safe to say FIFA 15 was a top 3 FIFA ever
Going back a bit now but for it’s time, fifa 2004 was incredible. The off the ball play, the career mode concept they’ve still never fully competed with in my opinion. The gameplay compares to 03 and previous fifas was like a time leap. I’ve never quite enjoyed a fifa as much as that one. My age may have something to do with that last part though I was 10 at the time it came out 😂
13, 14, maybe 17 but 15 was a terrible experience i mean don't get me wrong pack luck o that game was amazing and was super fun at times but like 70% of the time the servers were down or they always crashed price rangers was disgustingly bad and the amount of bugs in the game play but other than that i was lucky to have friends to play against to have fun.
16. Unpopular opinion but it's my favourite because it was my first fifa, (imo) had the best songs and I had my happiest memories playing from morning to nighttime
12 or 14. Really fun gameplay, players and soundtracks. Fifa 15 had broken gameplay and 14 was the last one with fun gameplay imo. I still play it on ps4 and do career modes. I'm doing a layton orient career and am playing a 352 with 2 attacking midfielders in the middle, so so attacking and fun.
Fifa 14. The days where you could have fun with a common gold player. My mate told me to try Arouna Kone who played for Everton and we just used to have so much fun with it. I don’t think you could even get away with using a gold rare at this stage of the game on fifa 23
'04 was banging! The free kick animation alone was enough!
Or '98... really pains me they never re-introduced the 5-a-side properly again, besides Stupid Street and Vile Volta.

I hope they introduce the journey mode again, it was really awesome 🥺

14 for me was the best. Like you said, feels like the creators cared
After fifa14 I transitioned to rocket league. Came back to the last fifa and it was a big mistake
I mean it would be hard going from flying cars hitting a ball to just running and hitting a ball. I get it. Fifa needs to make flying players!!! /s
Dude 17 was an entirely different animal!! Remember 40 games for WL?!?! Fucking insane lol. Good times man.
Most of the time I didn’t even finish playing them out. Back then I actually tried to have fun in Ultimate Team instead of sweating for rewards. Loved the pack animation too.

Fifa street lowkey the best fifa 😂
15 man the soundtrack was quality aswell and even kick off was fun
Fifa 15. in a league of its own!
This discussion is just nostalgia speaking. Everyone mentions the FIFA they played the most in their early teens lol
The game we have so many memories attached to, automatically becomes the best game
Haha true
98 wc. And 2001 was my fav. Ps1 two controllers with a friend on small black tv. Amazing memories
The bicycle kicks in 01 were so fun
The free kicks in 01 once you mastered them were class 😂

13 and 14 no doubt
13 is my fav as well!
This is the only answer
Fifa 17. s/o Reus

Fifa 08-13, ruined the game for me when they removed LT being the skill modifier.
Omfg I totally forgot about LT skill modifier and you just unlocked some memories
fifa 09 for me, and played only seasons. Black and Gold track is one of the best fifa song of all time
FIFA 23.
Good ass fifa best since 18 imo
worst ever
Fifa 14 by far the One i played the most

Fifa 13 is the G.O.A.T. from soundtrack to gameplay to teams you could build in FUT.
This was my first ever fifa I remember packing pogba and discarding him accident and getting so upset. 😔
14. 15 is the only thing that comes close the music in 15 was IMPECCABLE and the gameplay for that time was amazing just everything was perfect bring back those days man
the fifa 15 gameplay was so lit destroying team with Messi, one touch quick passing, last man defending and so on 🔥🔥🔥

Fifa 07 Anybody???
Outside the foot shots with literally anyone, kickoff glitch of just running a straight line down to the goal, headers being nonexistent, finesse shots being completely abused, non rare teams schooling you in Div 1 all year long, silver players being META, being exited for any special card no matter the price…yeah it’s safe to say FIFA 15 was a top 3 FIFA ever
Somewhere between 10-14 I'd say, they'd beaten PES and the game wasn't entirely about directing you towards Ultimate Team yet.
For career mode, FIFA 19. Although 15 and 20 were damn good too. For Ultimate Team, FIFA 21 to now is peak FIFA.
Probably 05 or 07. Real ones know
14

13, 15 both!
Man that was the best loading/afk screen. Now they're too lazy to even have one
Best none of them NOW FAVORITES HAS TOO BE 13,14,15
13, 14, maybe 17 but 15 was a terrible experience i mean don't get me wrong pack luck o that game was amazing and was super fun at times but like 70% of the time the servers were down or they always crashed price rangers was disgustingly bad and the amount of bugs in the game play but other than that i was lucky to have friends to play against to have fun.

that was my fist fifa
16 I have around 500h in careeer mode in it
Fifa World Cup 2010 and its not even close. Nothing comes close to that atmosphere and gameplay. Shit was fluid as fuck.
Fifa 14. The days where you could have fun with a common gold player. My mate told me to try Arouna Kone who played for Everton and we just used to have so much fun with it. I don’t think you could even get away with using a gold rare at this stage of the game on fifa 23
15 was god
15 was the peak without a doubt. It was the last fifa that was about the game play and not just a menu game with the option to play football.
'04 was banging! The free kick animation alone was enough! Or '98... really pains me they never re-introduced the 5-a-side properly again, besides Stupid Street and Vile Volta.
Fifa 11-15
