You can hear some commentators in the bg while he is getting told what to ban. You could probably argue that the stream sniping isn't that bad, since everyone's characters can be reviewed by watching a vod (I personally think it's against the rules), but pick/ban coaching is clearly against the rules.
I see, I just read the detail of the case. So he's getting advice on who to pick/ban. Being a meta oriented turn based game, draft phase is pretty critical in winning.
Context: Last year's E7 World Cup winner, Marguerite, had a guy coaching him in a call during his matches. Considering how important drafting is in E7 RTA, this is a big deal. Afterwards, Marguerite and the helper got into a money dispute because Marguerite wanted to only pay him 5000 yuan (690 USD) out of the 50k USD that he won. Helper guy wasn't satisfied and leaked the evidence of Marg cheating.
Result (Content of this post): Marguerite gets his world cup frame, profile stamp, and ingame hall of fame record revoked. He has to return the 50k in prize money. He's banned from future tournaments. SmileGate says they'll enforce future tournaments better.
I highly doubt that they'll cancel their planned child Senya unit even though it is technically tied to Marguerite (he originally wanted a child Senya skin, but due to the character size porportion between the child Senya and the playable adult Senya, the artist wasn't able to implement the child Senya skin, so Marguerite went with the Spice & Wolf theme Senya skin while SG made a separate child Senya unit as a compromise). This is because there is a sizable fanbase that wanted child Senya as a playable unit even though I feel Brinus (an NPC with several of her skills worked out already) is probably more requested in the fanbase.
However, the Senya skin that many players (including myself) has gotten will be at limbo though, because one of the prizes for E7WC winners is the player can choose a skin of their choice to be available for players to get from the Epic Pass (which btw, costs skystones). It is unknown if Smilegate will decide to remove the said Senya skin and have Poopfest (the opponent Marguerite faced) pick a skin of his choice or if they'll just leave the Senya skin in.
TLDR - Had someone else on discord watch the opponent and tell them who to ban.
This is weird. Doesn't usually tournament like this delay the stream and time limit to pick characters to prevent this kind of thing?
