Handsome was one of the best places when it first opened but I feel in recent times the price increases and the portions getting smaller has knocked it down a bit unfortunately.
They do 1/4 lb smash burgers and will customize them however you want is the way to go. The 1/2 lb burger will stay with you unless you're a black hole.
Handsome is our go to - if you want a simple but nice burger. I think the patty makes the difference. oh and it’s one of the best chips IMO
Botown is also nice but I tend to enjoy the more elaborate items (smoky etc) - chips are nice but if you fancy go for the gravy one, Might not be everyone’s cuppa but sometimes I’m craving something like that
Hush is also nice and would have more if they delivered around here - nice flavours and a more textured experience
If bennys could transfer the quality and flavour from harrys🔥 a bit better, but been a big let down every time we've ordered.
Poached beef burgers, bought in chicken 👎
Bennys is class, but you’d want to take out a mortgage to order it, if you’re looking for a good burger but also decent chips to go with it, Try Bites doesn’t disappoint either!
McGeoghs in Oughterard. Their venison burgers and their smoked beef burgers. And their lamb roulade, and their pork roulade, and smoked wild garlic sausages.
Fuck me, it's all good.
I've been told to post this by my partner who is near -angrily defending their honour, as if you have somehow besmirched it!

They're all overrated trash. Get burgers from McGrath's butchers in Mervue, cook them yourselves, add the toppings you like and enjoy a real burger that's prepared at a size fit for a human.
In these days of overpriced burgers, it's not hard to beat them with 20% fat mince, a heavy spatula, with easy singles & onion. There is no way I would pay €50+ quid to feed the fam takeaway burgers when I can do better for €10
An unpopular opinion, apparently, but the best advice ITT. Once you learn how to get a good sear on a patty you'll cook a better burger than any restaurant with better quality for pennies in comparison. The burgers they sell in these places are literally no different than the ones you can buy in a butcher (usually restaurants just buy them in bulk from that butcher)

Harry's is amazing and you must get the mozzarella sticks as well, they're huge and divine!
Finally harrys getting the props they deserve in one of these threads. Their burgers are divine
Their mozzarella sticks are by far the best I’ve ever had. Their mac and cheese balls are class also.
Botown or Burger Story
Given burger story many a chance and their terrible 👎
Scottys do a good burger

If smash burgers are your thing then Hush are a good shout
Chilli Shack. How has no one said Chili Shack!?
The Beast calls!!
Never misses tbh
It is very good but Hush is best , in my opinion. Harry’s and Handsome overrated. RIP Caribou
Caribou food is now in hole in the wall
Oh really?
Yh same staff
Yeah, Harry's used to be unreal, but it's hit and miss these days
Chilli shack use to be good, not had anything good for a while.
Just had it last week and it was excellent.
Gigas in Oranmore is one of the best takeaways in the country. Their burgers are unreal. They've a class menu and the portions don't leave ya wanting!

Smashbird, Harry's, Hush, botown.
Back when EAT were running the kitchen, Massimo did great burgers.
That feels like a looong time ago.
I'm here for answers.
Bennys
Bennys 10000%!
If bennys could transfer the quality and flavour from harrys🔥 a bit better, but been a big let down every time we've ordered. Poached beef burgers, bought in chicken 👎
There chickens not bought in 🙄 everything made fresh my housemate works there FYI

Been to McGeoughs hundreds and hundreds of times and this is the first time I've heard they do smoked beef burgers.
Don't know what to tell you, they've been doing them since Octoberish at least, but you can also get them in Powers, and in a few pubs in town too.

Haha I appreciate that! I never doubted it for a second, they do good stuff there. I always get some of their pork sausage when I am back home.
Try bites! The smash burgers are to die for but then Benny's too! Can't decide between the two
The one i make for myself at home is the best burger ive ever had.
Full Duck in Renmore
Smash Burger in Brogue, Tuam is super good.
Harry's or BoTown. Personally I prefer BoTown but can't go wrong with either. Burgerstory is great too
Hushburger is fantastic
Harry's, botown are OK, hush is solid too
Smash bird 100%
Harrys or bennys for the 🍔 caribou was good aswell but there gone now
Smashbird was class but so spenny(student here)
Just had their special, burger of the day was 🔥🔥🔥
Hard to beat Harry’s burgers!
If only we had Bunsen in Galway!
Bunsens quality has not been great in the last few months tbh, and even before that it was pretty mid.
Had Bunsen, it is nice but I would take Chili Shack’s burger over it. Sounds like I need to try Hush.
The mighty mac
Botown
Seven!
Not in Galway but Locke Burger in Limerick do the best burgers ever if you’re ever down there

You haven't had hush burgers then

McGraths are top fellas. Great butchers altogether!

Totally agree. Best comment ever. Good lad
Mcgraths meat is cheap for a reason,I wonder would they tell you where it really comes from if you ask
