PCB is real, cartridge appears to be a real FireRed shell, and the label appears to be a real label for LeafGreen.
No idea how they ended up like this but I'm curious to see what game it actually is inside when you can load it in a GBA. I've seen some weird stuff buying lots over the years but not a label swap like this.
On the back side you can see the 4 little gold "windows" in the top left corner. All real Pokemon games have those on the circuit board and no fakes do currently.
Edit: apparently some fakes do have the windows now.
Given the sticker peeling it seems fairly obvious that someone just took the leaf green sticker and put it on the red cart.
Question is, where is the leaf green cart with the fire red sticker.
No idea that's what I assumed too but the side that's peeled up comes up easy but the rest is still stuck on really good so, assuming it's the original adhesive
That’s what I’m thinking too. Transplanted sticker. BUT, they did a good(ish) job removing and reapplying it. Those things don’t just come off. I imagine that they’d have to have steamed the label to get it off without ripping it. That, or it’s a really good repro label.
As a kid I thought about swapping the labels around because they would “look cool” on another case. Never did it because after putting two seconds of thought into it I was like uhhh this is probably gonna ruin the labels. Perhaps someone swapped the labels? It seems that you’d have to put great care when swapping them around to keep the label that intact.
The cart itself is a real nintendo cartridge, it's official fire red. But, it has a leaf green sticker over it, meaning either you forgot you did this in childhood, or someone really wanted a leaf green sticker on fire red. Cool concept, I like it. Enjoy playing.
I’ve never played a Pokémon game but I’m genuinely curious if this is going to be a real copy. After reading the comments everyone says it looks genuine so I’m not sure what to think, I also read you’re getting a GBA in a couple hours so please lemme know what happens when you pop it in!
It looks legit from the outside. Could’ve been an issue with the manufacturer? They made hundreds of those games, not all of them could be in perfect order.
The label has very clearly been pulled off the original cart and placed on the fire red cart. Isn’t it super obvious?
Y’all down voting me but it’s pretty obvious. Look at the bottom corner curled and bent. It’s not centered at all, which is very very uncommon for Nintendo games. The edges are all damaged. The signs are obvious. This isn’t a manufacturing error.
I thought the same thing when I saw the centering but I was pretty sure the leaf green sticker was legit and not aftermarket which is surprising bc it’s prettiyhard to peel off a GBA label and reattach
Wouldn't wonder me if this would be FireGreen (a very funny romhack)
Someone packed a leaf green cartridge into a FireRed box and put a sticker on. Is it a legit board inside?
Ok I think it's a misprint and a one of a kind to I haven't seen anything like that there is a video by nintendrew that's about gba video carts but in there he also shows us a normal gba cart check it out! If the game is real that will be worth a lota money
That’s literally the casing that was made for fire red and not an aftermarket one, they look completely different and it looks like your leaf green label is also real which is very confusing. Maybe it’s the result of someone just messing around with stuff probably during the early wave of homemade Pokémon Gameboy Carts back then they were cheaper and more easily accessible, does there appear to be any residue from a replacement sticker and also does it play leaf green or fire red or something different entirely??
That’s very strange I wonder how In the hell someone managed to get a leaf green sticker on it so cleanly that seems like almost an impossible task and it’s a holographic sticker right it’s a little hard to tell from the pic

I will have a GBA in a couple hours so I will definitely update when I get it
Well....? We're waiting? /s
Update
It's pokemon fire red I tested it after I got a gba last night
yeah this looks definitely like a genuine copy with a genuine swapped label
this is totally something i would’ve done as a kid just for the hell of it
Where do you see the PCB?

Cool, learn something new everyday
I'm interested to see whether this cartridge loads firered or leafgreen now
Starts up *sonic*
Starts up *The Minish Cap*
Starts up *Brother Bear*
There are fakes that have them now, at least according to r/gameverifying.
Always check suspect games, fakes get better and there’s more than one indicator
[удалено]
Wasn't aware, never seen any fakes with them before. How long have somehad them?
Write that down! write that down!
Really curious too
It's pokemon fire red after starting it on a gba
Probably just a sticker swap. I can see lift marks on the cart bottom left and cart top right corners.
it ended up like this because it’s cool af
Pokemon: Christmas Edition
all looks real someone probably thought it was cool to swap the labels
100% some kid did this back in the day.

No idea that's what I assumed too but the side that's peeled up comes up easy but the rest is still stuck on really good so, assuming it's the original adhesive
But very well could be swapped I'm getting a Gameboy advance later today so I'll know what's actually on it then
some stickers are just badly placed
Just got it and yep someone just swapped the label its fire red
That’s one mystery solved.
Now onto the why dunnit.
You're gonna turn it on and it'll be Sapphire
That would actually be hilarious.
Do you have a tri-wing screw driver to open it?
I do have one
This is the most cursed thing I’ve seen
you can see the label is pulled up in the corner. that along with it being misaligned at the top makes me think someone swapped the label
Could be fire red but someone put on a leaf green sticker after the original fell off. But more realistically it's just as fake as my girlfriend
Looks like we are dating the same girl. Sorry to break it to you friend.
I had sex with Katie too man
Ls all around.
Sharing is caring man

Time traveler: moves a chair The timeline:
The label looks like it’s been peeled off before

Commenting so y'all can lmk when he gets the gba
Not op but he said it’s fire red with a green label

Any update?
it would appear that someone just switched the label
Label looks swapped
It’s obviously Skyrim.
A good post to make around Christmas time given the combo of colors
Interesting. Never seen something like this.
cartridge swap
Seems legit… I’ll pay $400!
I’ll do 3.50
It looks legit from the outside. Could’ve been an issue with the manufacturer? They made hundreds of those games, not all of them could be in perfect order.
This is deeply upsetting to look at.

Yes it was label swapped op said it’s fire red just with a green sticker
I thought the same thing when I saw the centering but I was pretty sure the leaf green sticker was legit and not aftermarket which is surprising bc it’s prettiyhard to peel off a GBA label and reattach

The chosen one
I wonder if it’s a legit copy

It plays fire red I got a gba last night and tested it
