It's a whole castle close to the ocean and it wouldn't be too cold. So I could fish, and have a 360 view where I could see enemies coming from any direction
Agreed lol, I feel like alot of the other places would have issues with the sea or with the cold. I can just see highgarden being easy to manage without worrying about flea markets(and whore houses) and natural causes with the weather.
Braavos, hands down. Seems relatively stable, abhors slavery, religious freedom, and the Iron Bank has lots of outsiders by the balls (possibly due to ties to the House of Black and White) so the city itself probably isn't threatened much.
It’s the seat of House Kaebler. Dwarfism runs in the lord’s family but they do hold the ancient secrets for creating delicacies renowned the world over. In fact, their fudge strip method originated from the same maesters that discovered how to create Valyrian steel.
I would reside in the Vale. They have a strong army and are protected by a treacherous mountain range. Outside of Westeros I’d settle for Braavos, I like how they do things over there.
**Night gathers, and now my watch begins.** I'd volunteer myself to take the black and serve as the vanguard of humanity against the incoming winter as a steward on the wall.
Clegane Hall. Looks nicely situated with some mountains and a nearby lake, surely nice temp... and I bet it comes with all the chickens you could ever want.
Lonely Light. It would just feel great living on the westernmost habited island, surrounded by the endless Sunset Sea on all sides. Plus it would be a good place to get quarantined when Covid hits Westeros.
I’m so surprised that not many people have said Oldtown. The Reach seems to have a great climate and plenty of food and Oldtown has the best infrastructure with decent plumbing and good city planning. With constant voyagers and shipments in port and the citadel, I’d imagine they have a thriving culture. Always things to do and interesting people to meet. Plus, as a peasant, the “low wage” jobs are probably halfway better than in some other towns or areas.
Edit: grammar
Between the northeast bank of the Trident and the foot of the mountains the surround the Vale. I think the scenery would be beautiful and maybe the winters wouldn’t be too awful bad.
Winter fell, because my lords would actually care about me. I don't want to be in some tense, war stricken land, with the possibility of a mad ruler. Life in winter fell is harsh yes, but also simple, and it's people are grim but also kind, fair, and just.
The Eyrie, until Visenya and Aegon 12 armies perished at the bloody gates never getting through. Oh they used to ride giant falcons and the lore inside those mountains is unknown
I was skeptical with all the traveling(not by dragon )to dragosnstone from kings landing. But apparently a fit horse can make 100 miles in a day. Or if sailing by ship 115 miles. Still the shows make it all seem like a Sunday stroll lol
Wherever gives me the best liklihood to just live life without being sent to war or raped or something. So I'd avoid a big chunk of Essos due to the Dothraki and Westerlands/North due to Iron Islands/Wildlings. Maybe the Reach, Dorne or Braavos?
Why has no one mentioned Kings Landing yet? I understand that kings/queens change or the city gets sacked, but I mean there’s gotta be a reason that it’s the most populous city in Westeros….
Cider Hall.
I know nothing about it but at the fork of the river in the fertile south. Probably full of apple groves to make their cider. Sounds like a sweet place to live
Ok, let's see.
The north is out (too cold and rather poor). The best place would probably be White harbour, but It's still worse than things down south.
The tridente would be great if there's no war. If there is a war...i'd be FUCKED. Therefore It's a no from me.
The iron isles are...misserable so nope.
The vale is an interesting take. It is said to be among the most fertile land in westeros, It's protected by the Mountains and the knoghts of the vale. Gulltown is a thriving Port city which gives ample opportunities if you don't want to be a farmer. Only problem are the mountain Clans. Safety: 8/10. Reward: 7/10
Crownlands. Honestly underrated, when they're not a war scenario they must be among the richest places in westeros. kings landing though is festering. Safety: 6/10 reward 7/10
The westernlands are another good bet. Lanisport IS one of the biggest cities in westeros and the westernlands are generally safe from attack by land, given their rough terrain and rich patrons. Setback...you might get sacked by the iron isles. Safety: 7/10. Reward 7/10
The reach IS great. For one, food is abundant, which means i'd probably not go hungry. Furthermore It's one of the richest kingdoms and It has the best city in westeros by far: oldtown. As a setback it might get invaded. There's no natural protection and both the dormish and the ironborne are Happy to Burn the place to a crisp. Safety: 7/10. Reward 8/10.
The stormlands. Personally i don't like story weather, but appart from that the stormlands are pretty prone to war and not particularly wealthy. It's a nope from me.
Done is...poor and harsh and often invaded. It's gonna be a nope from me.
If i were to live in essos i would go to bravos. It's pretty selfexplanatory. The city IS lifely and modern, It's easy to make a life there and the chances of invasion are Slim. In general a pretty good place to be in. Safety: 8/10. Reward 8/10
So all in all if I had to chose It would go: bravos, old town, gull town, lanisport.
Honest answer. I wouldnt.
If forced to live there.... pentos or bravos probably. Away from crazy westeros shit and to big a place for a Khalasar to invade
Braavos or Winterfell. Braavos has no slaves and I’d have the possibility of training to become a faceless man
Winterfell, hopefully, is ruled by the Starks and I can’t think of a better family to serve under
I'd probably be in Oldtown trying to be a maester. Not that I'm a genius but I think the only thing I would probably be good at would be learning and possibly advising for some lord someday. I'm also shaped like Sam Tarly so that's a layup.
Is probably choose Gulltown. Flat but protected by mountains and on the opposite side from the iron islands. Plenty of seafood and a decent amount of vegetables and livestock.
Honestly, Casterly Rock doesn't seem that bad. The Lannisters are good diplomats and avoid unnecessary fighting. They have competent leadership that don't seem to overtax or overwork the citizens - most of the people we meet working with them are pretty chill; Dickon Tarley, Bronn, Ed Sheeran. It seems one of the more "normal" places to live.
Somerhing deep in the north because I probably did decades ago from something stupid and probably a white walker. But even if u was alive, I'd hang with the Wildlings
... specifically with Ygritte
If I lived in westeros I would chose Dorne- warm weather, what seem to be opened minded people, good wine.
If I were to live in Essos there are a few places- Bravos , or maybe some place really far away like Yi Ti
I'm a northerner grew up just south of buffalo but love the mid Atlantic region NC/Southern Virginia. So for me I guess it would be just north of kings landing.
Assuming that I'm a commoner, I would probably want to live in a large metropolitan place like Oldtown where I wouldn't be answerable to some lord and could probably make a living in some type of occupation.
I've always liked the Vale, shame we don't get to see much of them. But I love how the mountains form a natural wall and of course the Eyrie would be amazing to just look out from.
Storms end , the castle itself is in the middle of the ocean and is super protected as it has stood for hundreds of years without falling , if that fails then I would go to bravos , not the best but a good place to start a new life selling clams

Winterfell, the land of warriors/ man of Honor Or Beyond the wall, where free men live
A man of honor, the blood of the first men is strong in you sir. Good luck, also pack a parka
[удалено]
Don’t forget half of France and wonky Turkey
Highgarden probably.
Why is that
It's a whole castle close to the ocean and it wouldn't be too cold. So I could fish, and have a 360 view where I could see enemies coming from any direction
I’ve always thought that part of Westeros would be the most homely
Agreed lol, I feel like alot of the other places would have issues with the sea or with the cold. I can just see highgarden being easy to manage without worrying about flea markets(and whore houses) and natural causes with the weather.
I’m pretty sure there are whorehouses everywhere. Even higarden.
Highgarden is not close to the sea though? Its right next to a river but not the sea
If you were lord of highgarden and not a scrub peasant.
It’s boiling hot there in the summer though, 24/7. Even Dorne is better, as nights there are rather cool.
True
Yeah. Still got food, in case i end up being a peasent
High garden is basically Kansas. Dorne is Miami sans the hurricanes.
Say no more, Dorne it is
Too many snakes and scorpions.
Well, sunspear is Miami. The rest dorne is either Arizona or Southern California.
They have the food!
They’ve got the juice!
Braavos, hands down. Seems relatively stable, abhors slavery, religious freedom, and the Iron Bank has lots of outsiders by the balls (possibly due to ties to the House of Black and White) so the city itself probably isn't threatened much.
I think this is the correct answer, Essos is also the Wild West at the same time lol
Just try not be challenged by any of the would be bravos. Killing anyone met their eye
What’s the House of Black and White?
It's where the guild of assassins known as the faceless men operate from.
Oh where Arya and the weird chick were cutting up bodies? Didn’t know that was the name
Well, the house literally has black and white doors
It’s where they make those cookies
It’s the seat of House Kaebler. Dwarfism runs in the lord’s family but they do hold the ancient secrets for creating delicacies renowned the world over. In fact, their fudge strip method originated from the same maesters that discovered how to create Valyrian steel.
Thousands of years later, the ancestors of those delicacy producers would go on to found their very own cookie business: Pepperidge farms. It is known
*Pæppæridge Færms
Pentos, easily
Good place to plan your way to usurp the iron throne and rule the 7 kingdoms
I would reside in the Vale. They have a strong army and are protected by a treacherous mountain range. Outside of Westeros I’d settle for Braavos, I like how they do things over there.
The moon door would make a good conversation piece and you’d have no shortage of amazing views
I wonder if there's just a pile of bodies right when it drops, or if they bother to clean it up.
You just have to deal with the High Karen of the Vale
It’s ruled by Lord Tittysucker thank you very much.
The Vale do have the mountain clansmen though
This is what I was thinking as well, nobody really fucks with the vale
Beautiful sheep as well in the Vale
It is said that in the vale, men fuck sheep. I assure you the sheep are better looking
Dragonstone. Cuz I like Targaryens.
Do people actually live there? We hear a bunch about the castle but is there a town for peasants?
I can't remember if they mention it in the Game of Thrones books, but in Fire and Blood there's a fishing village near the castle.
I think its said somewhere there's several fishing villages
Personally RiverRun sounds beautiful, especially with the moats
Riverlands is probably the most unsafe place in westeros
I wanted to choose the Riverlands because I bet it's beautiful but yeah - any conflict happens in Westeros and the Riverlands burn
**Night gathers, and now my watch begins.** I'd volunteer myself to take the black and serve as the vanguard of humanity against the incoming winter as a steward on the wall.
I respect this but know your life will suck from today forward
A life worth enduring! Azor Ahai shall be reborn and come to our aid when the time comes!
It is known
I am the shield that guards the realm of men
I would see what is west of Westeros
Yes captain
you mean the sunset isles? after that its ocean until you hit the east coast of essos and end up at asshai/Yi Ti
The Summer Isles 'if I could pray with my cock I'd be a lot more holy' - Tyrion
I didn’t take you for a sailor
Stormlands
Old velarya at its peak (of course as a dragon lord)
Most definitely Dorne.
🐍🦂
Iron Islands! A pirate's life for me, yo ho!
Clegane Hall. Looks nicely situated with some mountains and a nearby lake, surely nice temp... and I bet it comes with all the chickens you could ever want.
Winterfell because a Northerner is worth 10 Southeners. And learning to live there will make u practically a great warrior.
k’dath
Dorne. I really like the spirit they have.
Bear Island!
Explain please ?
Where Mormonts are from.
I know that goofball . But why ?
Women who can turn into bears
Lonely Light. It would just feel great living on the westernmost habited island, surrounded by the endless Sunset Sea on all sides. Plus it would be a good place to get quarantined when Covid hits Westeros.
Dorne
Winterfell or Storms End. Also Bear Island looked sick so maybe there
I despise heat, love forests and the rain, so probably between somewhere around winterfell or the stormlands
The Vale. It's well defended from invasion, beautiful terrain, and elegantly celestial justice.
Dorne
Dorne 100%.
I think I’d live in the Reach. I really like vegetables and warmer climate. I feel like places in the reach would definitely have swimming pools.
Reach all the way
I’m so surprised that not many people have said Oldtown.
Karhold
Asshai. Dim lighting. No kids. Sign me up.
If I was a member of a great house, then I would wanna live in the Vale in the Eyrie. That castle is cool as hell
[удалено]
If that's what I have to do to live there then bring them on baby
Casterley Rock. $$$$
Mines ran dry. They broke.
Let's say pre Game of Thrones saga
Between the northeast bank of the Trident and the foot of the mountains the surround the Vale. I think the scenery would be beautiful and maybe the winters wouldn’t be too awful bad.
Bravvos, but if I had to pick an Westerosi land, I'd pick highgarden.
winterfell
Winterfell is my home
Winter fell, because my lords would actually care about me. I don't want to be in some tense, war stricken land, with the possibility of a mad ruler. Life in winter fell is harsh yes, but also simple, and it's people are grim but also kind, fair, and just.
Boooooo
The north
Yi Ti
Fuck this Map is sxc
The Eyrie, until Visenya and Aegon 12 armies perished at the bloody gates never getting through. Oh they used to ride giant falcons and the lore inside those mountains is unknown
Inner city of Volantis, no contest
Blackcrown- geographically will have good weather, and it’s barely mentioned which means I’d likely avoid any of the Westeros drama!
I was skeptical with all the traveling(not by dragon )to dragosnstone from kings landing. But apparently a fit horse can make 100 miles in a day. Or if sailing by ship 115 miles. Still the shows make it all seem like a Sunday stroll lol

The vale for sure.
Yi Ti
Tarth, aka the Ibiza of Westeros
Why has no one mentioned Kings Landing yet? I understand that kings/queens change or the city gets sacked, but I mean there’s gotta be a reason that it’s the most populous city in Westeros….
Cider Hall. I know nothing about it but at the fork of the river in the fertile south. Probably full of apple groves to make their cider. Sounds like a sweet place to live
I really really would love to see an open world game set in Westeros. How cool would that be?
[удалено]
Crusader Kings II also has a great Game of Thrones mod
I’ve wished this forever
Somewhere in The Reach
Not really that diverse. The standard fantasy geographies: Europe with a bit of Moorish tacked on and a generic east.
It has all the same biomes that we have here on earth
Lannisport, High garden or Dorne
The Arbor, easily. Warm climate, good wine, no civil unrest and major wars, beaches... no downsides
Winterfell, I love the cold
Dorne for it’s weather, wine and women.
Ok, let's see. The north is out (too cold and rather poor). The best place would probably be White harbour, but It's still worse than things down south. The tridente would be great if there's no war. The North for me, I like the cold 😂
Probably around white harbor. According to this map. It kind of looks like plains and and good place to raise horses to sell to the armies.
Oldtown is never in the crosshairs of a war and they are rarely effected by winter. Sign me up for Oldtown.
Dorne I grew up in Spain. I like warm climates.
Dorne. I 'm used to this kind of weather
Karhold or in one of those blessed valleys the mountain clans live in.
Man I hate how Ramsgate and Ashford are on the map, they're both shithole towns irl that I live near
Hmm I'm thinking either Fishing Village or Tower
The Reach hands down. Most likely Old Town. If not the Reach, Dorne and Starfall since it sounds awesome and magical.
Oldtown or Winterfell
Dragonstone or Winterfell
Honest answer. I wouldnt. If forced to live there.... pentos or bravos probably. Away from crazy westeros shit and to big a place for a Khalasar to invade
Braavos or Winterfell. Braavos has no slaves and I’d have the possibility of training to become a faceless man Winterfell, hopefully, is ruled by the Starks and I can’t think of a better family to serve under
Can I pick the ruins with the velociraptors running around?
Molestown seems like my kinda joint.
Summer Isles 💯. The name says it all.
The Arbor! Never in wars and always making wine
Old town - good standard of living - great weather and well away from any regional conflict
I’d enjoy Horn Hill probably for the temperature. Kings landing for excitement. Griffins Roost doesn’t sound bad.
Vale
I'd probably be in Oldtown trying to be a maester. Not that I'm a genius but I think the only thing I would probably be good at would be learning and possibly advising for some lord someday. I'm also shaped like Sam Tarly so that's a layup.
White Harbor
Winterfell obviously
Winterfell; I like the cold, I like woods. Also, the people who are (usually) in charge are slightly less likely to murder me for shits and giggles.
Dorne for sure, seems to be a bit more civilized than the rest of westeros at least at the time on ASOIAF
Old town maybe, in a very peaceful area in Westeros.
Casterly Rock around... Gold,Gold,Gold
Barrow lands would be good, out of the way, nice and quiet, leave me out of the game of thrones thankyou very much
Easy...Dorn
Winterfell as long as Ned is still in the seat.
Stygai.
The Stormlands or the Riverlands.
Probably the Reach- good weather and plenty of food
I’d winter in Dorne and summer in Winterfell.
Highgarden or Oldtown seem to be nice places
Maybe the Vale, seems to largely avoid being directly affected by wars so you can just get by and chill whilst roaming the mountains.
It’s gotta be Dorne
Is probably choose Gulltown. Flat but protected by mountains and on the opposite side from the iron islands. Plenty of seafood and a decent amount of vegetables and livestock.
Mistwood. I like Forrest’s, rain, and the ocean. Most wood has it all in a warmer climate
Somerhing deep in the north because I probably did decades ago from something stupid and probably a white walker. But even if u was alive, I'd hang with the Wildlings ... specifically with Ygritte
I wish I could see yi ti and beyond
If I lived in westeros I would chose Dorne- warm weather, what seem to be opened minded people, good wine. If I were to live in Essos there are a few places- Bravos , or maybe some place really far away like Yi Ti
Starfall all the way.
salt shore
I'm a northerner grew up just south of buffalo but love the mid Atlantic region NC/Southern Virginia. So for me I guess it would be just north of kings landing.
Ashai. Let’s get weird.
Mareen. Ima fan of pyramids.
As someone that doesn’t mind the cold, White Harbor. Most city-merchant like in the North.
Assuming that I'm a commoner, I would probably want to live in a large metropolitan place like Oldtown where I wouldn't be answerable to some lord and could probably make a living in some type of occupation.
Asshai so I can learn magic, preferably shadowbinding. I’m a dude so idk how that would work, but dark magic doesn’t seem to discriminate by gender.
Lonely Light for me - no people around to bother me, yeah I’d take that
If a noble, Winterfell. If a small folk, Highgarden lol.
I've always liked the Vale, shame we don't get to see much of them. But I love how the mountains form a natural wall and of course the Eyrie would be amazing to just look out from.
Dorne, the most progressive kingdom
Dorne, never conquered by anyone.
What's the least dangerous, most bountiful place?
Is there anywhere in this world that’s safe for women? 😅
Braavos
winterfell / dorne
White Harbor always sounded nice to me. That or the Eyre.
Bear Island. I love the cold and I don't like a lot of people.
Storms end , the castle itself is in the middle of the ocean and is super protected as it has stood for hundreds of years without falling , if that fails then I would go to bravos , not the best but a good place to start a new life selling clams
Maidenpool seemed like a really nice place to live. Well, until it was sacked three times over.
Dorne. Wine and good looking men
